The Christmases Past
My submission.
And the heart is hard to translate
It has a language of its own
It talks in tongues and quiet sighs,
And prayers and proclamations

@AspiringAuthorA..M., no, definitely not a choking dog. That would be bad. xD

First submission, whoo!

Everyone else, it's not too late to join, submissions open until midnight Christmas Eve. Good luck!

In the story, I would like to edit two letters out of one word. "As I lay awake in bed, recalling that memory I heard my Mom's door slam shut downstairs."
I accidentally changed the tense. May I please be allowed to take off the d, in "heard" to make it "hear"? It's just a technical thing. I'm confident in everything else other than this technical error.

You don't have to ask for permission to edit technical/grammatical stuff like that. (See original post.) So that is completely fine. I just need to be aware of major (dialogue, character, story, etc.) revisions.

Hey all, thanks to @TheMessenger, all prizes have been raised by five hundred points.

However, those points are going to go to no good if we don't start seeing some submissions though. So keep writing.

Okay! I finally finished mine! Sorry it took so long. I couldn't seem to get it right. Anyway, here's the link: Christmas Eve

I based it off of one of the Norman Rockwell Christmas pictures. This one:

By the way---I edited one little thing in my story. I changed "Maybe I've found that family after all" to "Maybe I've found that family to spend Christmas with after all." Or something like that (sorry, can't remember lol). I got some feedback and wanted to make the intention of that line a little more clear. That's okay, right?

That's fine. BTW, I've read both of your stories, but haven't gotten around to judging them yet. They look good!

ATTENTION!!!

Christmas is only two days away, and due to the low number of submissions, I am extending the deadline until the end of December. That's the 31st folks, one week away.

If you been thinking about joining but didn't get the chance to write anything, now is your chance! And last chance at that. Let me know if you're interested here. Keep writing!

I will announce the winners soon. I'll be gone for two days, but after that I should be back with the reviews on your entries along with the contest results.

Thanks for submitting you three. ;)
