Behold. This Storybook is brought to you by a couple of members of The Ink Puppeteers Club - we have thought it through and we hope you will join and enjoy it. Please don't, though, if you don't think you'll be able to keep it on till the end.

~ The idea: Several writers end up all together in the world of their creations.

~ The Backstory

Spoiler
You are a writer.
A child or an adult or an old person, living in the world we know as our own - in any time period you choose - and writing is what you do, wether as your job or a hobby. One night, you fall asleep, with your notebook and your pen/quill in your hands, your mind full of ideas for the next chapter.

You open your eyes, and though it's dawning, you are not home. The world around you is as real as any, scarily alien yet heartwarmingly familiar. It's the world of your mind, more or less, as you've now arrived to the very time and place of the last chapter you wrote. Furthermore, you found yourself very close to one of your characters - antagonist or protagonist, or a side character - and unable to leave no matter what you try. You can't destroy the notebook you happen to have with you either - you're the only one who can read it, yet if you destroy it, with it you will destroy the part of the world you're standing in, along with yourself in it.

~*~

You are a person. A magician, a member of royal family, a peasant or a slave, priest or wanderer, artist or grave robber or whatever crosses mind. You live your life, liking it or not, you connect with others, you explore your world.
One night, you fall asleep - and as you wake up, everything is different.

You are still in your world, and nothing around you has changed, yet you meet a person you feel strange connection to. It doesn't pass long, and you hear from that person the words you know you will never be able to forget. You find you are no more than a product of that person's mind, a character from a novel or story, or play or poem, made up by that strange foreign writer who somehow managed to enter your world.
You are angry, or excited, or relieved or desperate - yet you have no choice. This person can control you, in a way, and you can't escape your very creator - you can't kill them either, for that will kill you as well. You are a Puppet, and the strange newcomer is the Puppeteer.

~*~

There are things that need to be done. Stories that need to be told. And with writers trapped in the world of their creations, nothing is sure to happen the way it was imagined to. And threats are not even those described in their writings, as if the evil and the antagonists are bad enough - for there are darker, powerful shadows of past lurking and waiting for the perfect moment to return. And the moment has never been closer.

~ The World

Spoiler
The Project - This is the country where the SB takes place. The entire country is enclosed by a large wall, one that consumes anything and everything in its path. There is no known way to get rid of it, or even halt it. The wall is constantly shrinking and as a result, so is The Project.

Small Towns: These towns are the life of the Land. They provide most of the resources to the cities. They are small, only about a fourth of the size of the large city, or a third of the size of the medium cities.

1. Ferusia- Futuristic City -
This is the largest of the four small towns with a bustling population of about 10,000. Being neighbored by the extremely large mountain chain, the Cadavras Mountains, Ferusia’s specializes in mining minerals and ores. Geographically speaking, Ferusia is the smallest out of all the small towns. However, what it lacks in area, it makes up for with its buildings. Being able to mine precious metals, they were able to create advance techniques in housings, allowing them to make building above normal heights. Some of their tallest buildings are over 2km, called sky watchers. The tallest sky watcher stands at 2.5km tall. Other uses of their metals include strong weapons, armor, and furniture, as well as luxuries such as jewelry.

2. Marknam- Medieval City -
The smallest of all the towns, the population of Markham is about 1500 people, many of which are military personnel. Specializing in farming and agriculture, they are the main source of food and medicinal herbs to the rest of the counties in The Project. They are surrounded on all sides by vast plains, all used for farming. A third of the citizens are spread out among these plains, while the rest of the population lives in the central town. In this part of the town, there is a large military presence, both for security of the town and the citizens themselves. While Markham is a small town, it has the training and resources to fuel a powerful fighting force.

3. Velso- Modern City -
Velso is a pretty average sized town, holding around 6000 people. Many of the mechanical instruments found in other towns were created in Velso. While other towns grow or find resources, Velso is able to manufacture everything into new technology. They don’t find any resources themselves, so they rely on the bordering counties to provide for them. They thrive on the ideas of their manufacturers to make products that other countries will buy, like toilets.

4. Candira- Renaissance City -
Candira is another average sized town, with just about a thousand less people than Velso. That being said it’s quite a bit larger. The average resident has much more living space that that of any other town. Being located near both a large ocean and a large oil reservoir, they are major exporters of water, paints, and gases. They are a very cultured bunch, a very artistically centered society. Being a painter, artist, musician, or actor can make you very big around these parts. They are not very big on war, so their army is very lackluster. They have a small, almost non-existent militia that acts as a makeshift police force for the small amount crimes that do occur.

Medium Cities: These Cities are special, along with the Large City. These are cut, almost in half, by some unknown power, each side a different era. No one really knows how this happens, but over the ages, the ways of one side of the city seems to be different than the other.

1. Neveerem- Futuristic/Medieval –
This city was quite a shock to most people in its early days. On the left half we find skyscraping sky watchers, while on the right we find castles and cottages prevalent. With a population of about 50,000, it is the larger of the two medium-sized cities. In the middle of this city is a tall spire, closely resembling that of a sky watcher, but made out of stone. No one knows what it does, or even what it holds, but it is there; perhaps it’s a symbol of the unity between the two people. Each side maintains their respective city type’s personality.

2. Miriam- Modern/Renaissance –
Miriam is the smaller of the two medium cities. Once again, the city is cut in half, by powers unknown, left side being modern and the right being renaissance period. This city has about 40,000 citizens. There is another spire-like structure in the middle of the city, this one made out wood. It is surrounded by paintings and intricate glasswork that could only be made by the renaissance people. Once again, its purpose is unknown, but it’s still thought to act as symbol of unity. Each side maintains their respective cities personalities.

Large Cities:
1. Celestalzia- Futuristic/Medieval/Modern/Renaissance –

This is the pinnacle of the Land at this moment. Encompassing all four eras in its vast city, it holds an enormous 1 million within its borders. At the area where the four eras meet, a spire struts out and into the sky, high above even the tallest sky watcher, at over 5 km. Once again, no one knows what is inside there. Once again, all four eras retain their specific traits and qualities.

The Air City
Celest- Magical - This city is a city that not many people know of. This is the city that every creation in the Land (Project ) goes to that has an inch of magic, even if they don't know it yet. It rises above the entire land, and not one person who doesn't have magic knows about this city. The spires that rise above the land are gateways that people with magical capabilities are lured to it, and through the spires, they are transported to the Air City, Celest. It is a city that spirals throughout all of the Projects, and it can see all of the Wild. Maybe it will reveal the secrets of the Wild.

The Wild:
This is something that no one really knows about. It is a dark and frightening place that covers most of the Project. All four eras that are present in The Project have special traits with their respective Wilds. This is all of the information gathered on the areas and what is dangerous there.

Futuristic: Through years of genetic experimentation, things have gotten a bit crazy here. It is the most mindboggling part of the Wild, with multi-colored spinnerets blurring your eyesight further in. These spiders are the most dominant insects in the forest, and it would be surprising to find massive colonies of them in one area. There are also some monsters that have ventured out of the futuristic era. There are twenty legged spider-looking freaks, though rare, that are dyed a sleek silver color. They’re armed with missile-looking spears tipped with poison that kill anything they come in contact with. There have been many buildings that have gone down because of these wicked beasts. There are also a giraffe-looking creature that are coal colored with fifteen different heads, each with one teeth, that will dislodge itself on the first thing that it comes into contact with, and after the tooth gets dislodged, the head dies. These are only two of the many that have ventured out of the Wild. We have only been able to learn a lot about those two. Other, less lethal animals include forty foot snakes, three-thousand pound apes, and birds that are bigger than houses (both carnivorous and not).

Modern: This is the part of the Wild that we have been able to explore the most of. It is counted as the most docile part of the Wild, and it will only kill you within a few hours. From what we can see, it is like the Project used to be, but shrouded in mist, with all forms of vegetation dead. From as far as the eye can see, nothing lives there. The thick mist makes it almost impossible to see past more than a few feet, so any creatures that are more used to the conditions may easily just be avoiding contact with humans. There have been no known casualties with animals in the forest, and the mist has accounted for all the deaths, through madness, loss of direction, or the like.

Renaissance: This is perhaps the most dangerous part of the Wild, not in terms of animals. The animals there are normal squirrels and raccoons and such, but the air is extremely toxic. The animals have developed and immunity to the toxicity, but humans have yet to figure out a cure. Seeing as science isn’t a major part of renaissance society, it is doubtful that there will be any solution to the problem anytime soon. However, if a cure is made, it’s widely agreed that this will be the most habitable wild out of any other.

Medieval: This is the most active part of the Wild. It looks like a neon bulb went off on the land. The atmosphere of the forest in this part of the wild carries an odd air that heightens all senses once you breathe it in. Once you step out of the forest, these senses are lost, but as of right now, there are no known side effects. There are many monsters that venture out of here every day, though not as deadly as the futuristic era monsters. One example is a giant of a beast with two heads, one a bird and one an alligator. It usually carries a spear, which carries venom that can kill humans in about three minutes if not cared for. Another, less common beast is what is known as a bird man. They look much like humans, except they have the legs of goats, wings on their backs, tiny horns, and small beaks. They are considered one of the most civilized species of the forests, living much like humans. It’s believed they have their own language and society, but there has been little contact made with them, seeing as the medieval people are a very small and isolated group. Other animals are your typical wild creatures with just relatively large sizes.

~*~

Note that this world is actually a product of the Puppeteers' ideas. They are the writers, who happened to write about the same world, using different characters. They will, more or less, know in general about the world they get into, but not the details, they will need to find out about them. They will also not know of many other characters, places and events that took place in the parts of the world and time that they didn't describe in their stories.

As for the language, it's not English, but we will, naturally, write in it. The Puppeteers, as we know, come from different places and times. In the World, therefore, the language spoken is invented by the Puppeteers, and so everyone there knows how to speak it.

~ The Magic

Spoiler
The Puppeteers, except for being the controllers of some of the Puppets, don't have any kind of magic. They're not magicians in this world, nor they can read out their creations or something in this world. When they do come to the World, they can learn a thing or two, but can't get powerful mages all of the sudden - all they can do is to control, to an extent, the life of one of their Puppets. They can, say, make the Puppet sick or strong or angry or afraid, but they can't make the Puppet win in a duel, as they can't control the other person.
In the world itself, though, as it is a fantasy world after all, there is magic. The magic can be done in two ways - using one's mind and using one's emotions. Both have further subcategories, such as being used with or without words/movement/potions, being material or illusions, and so on. Not everyone can have magic, the magicians are born randomly, and
they choose at young age which type they prefer (is usually goes with the personality). No one can be using both types, for that will destroy anyone who attempts.

~ Characters

Spoiler
There are two groups of characters - the Puppeteers, those who control; and the Puppets, those controlled.
The Puppeteers are coming from our world, all of them being writers. Their writings could be novels, stories or any other type that has characters in it.
The Puppeteers come from different times and places in our world's history/future, and the Puppets in the same world, the creation of the Puppeteers.
The Puppets may or may not have interacted previously - the Puppeteers know only as much of their characters' history as they have written down, therefore the Puppets are as much people as we are. The don't know that they're living imagined lives in an imagined world until the Puppeteers arrive and tell them. They, however, know more about the World and its people than the Puppeteers do.

We each have two characters - a Puppeteer and a Puppet
Our Puppeteer controls two characters - a Villain Puppet and a good guy Puppet.
Once our Puppeteer gets to the world of the Puppets, he/she only controls one of his/her characters - the villain or the other one, and it is not the Puppeteer's choice.
The Puppet we choose as our POV character doesn't need to be controlled nor connected with our Puppeteer POV character - we can even control each other, but with a lot of talking and zero Godmoding.
Once the Puppeteers get into the World, they are not able to control the
Puppets' thoughts and speech anymore. You can make your Puppet character act as a slave to the Puppeteer, if so you wish, but by default, the Puppets will act on their own.
All of the Puppets have the appearance and the personalities their Puppeteers imagined, but also have their own thoughts and more filled life than the
Puppeteers imagined.

~The Control

Spoiler
The Puppeteers can control their Puppet, once they get into the World, with strings visible only to them, coming from the Puppeteers' fingers. This, however, is no rule - you a free to think of your own ways if you wish.
The Puppeteers can control the Puppets to an extent. They can make them ill or cure them, they can make them forget something or feel lucky or sure of themselves - but they can't give them powers, nor can they write the future and make it happen, for they can not control the way any other character will act.
The extent of the Puppeteers' "powers" depends on their connection to the character, and therefore can get stronger or weaker as the story moves on.

~ The Character Templates:

Every person MUST have a Puppet and a Puppeteer character.
Their Puppet character, however, doesn’t need to be the one controlled by any of the Puppeteers.
Apart from those two, they can have another Puppet/Puppeteer, or a random character from the World that isn't a Puppet, but will play a part. No one can play people in this world, for nothing in the Storybook will be happening here.

~ The Rules: apart from the normal YWS rules, that is.

Spoiler
Have at least those two characters,
Use proper grammar (or at least close enough, or at least separating
sentences properly)
Have posts of some fair length and always to talk to other writers when
working on posts.
All of the profiles should be sent for approval to me before they're posted in the Storybook. That's so we can be sure that all the necessary changes will be made and nothing will be missed.
Godmoding is strictly off limit. We will not have arguements about it, nor will there be negotiations about it. No is enough.

reserving a spot for a female puppeteer, and her puppet.

Puppeteer

Name: Melody Bluevale

Age: 14

Appearance: Though Melody doesn't consider herself pretty, she does have a more subtle and... natural beauty. Melody has long dark hair that she keeps in a loose ponytail; Darkly tanned skin, and deep brown doe-eyes that sparkle when she smiles. She also has a sight figure, and a jagged scar that runs across her left cheek.

Personality: Melody isn't by any means strong, and when it comes down to a fight she usually prefers to flee. Despite this, Melody is loyal, extremely trusting, and honest to a fault.
She is also very quiet, compassionate, and never complains. She's the kind of girl that would fall 30 ft., break her arm, suck up the tears, and tell you she was fine. Which actually is a very likely scenario considering how clumsy she is.
However, Melody has an excellent sense of direction, and a beautiful singing voice. In spite her many flaws.

History:
Family: Melody was the middle child between three brothers and a younger sister. Her parents never had time for her, and the only person who seemed to care about her feeble existence was her oldest brother Ky.
Time period: Melody was living in the dark ages. Her grandmother was an herbalist who had recently been burned in the Salem Witch Trials. Before she died though, she warned Melody never to sing, for it would attract attention. And she feared that she may suffer the same fate.

Writing: Melody had recently begun to write about a lonely siren named Mishiqua. Don't forget, Melody was living in an age where woman were not to be writing stories. So nobody knew Melody could write. She guarded this secret like no other, and because of this, she was never able to finnish any of her stories. People would suspect if she were gone for too long.
This bothers her like you wouldn't believe. For she tends to see her characters as the pieces of herself she hides from the world. The lack of a happy ending in her books only makes the future seem all the more bleak.

The world: Melody awakes washed up on the shores of Candira. She is unfamiliar with the modern accent of those around her. There is a large expanse of ocean stretched before her, some woods in the distance, tall cliff-sides, and tall spires on the horizon. There is also a city, lots of... dancing, laughing, and... singing.
She isn't used to so much joy, for she is from a land so bleak.
This, she decides, is a very strange world indeed.

Puppets: Mishiqua

Up for love? Though she has a hard time beliveing anybody would take interest in her... Yup, straight.

I'll have her puppet's profile up as soon possible ;)

Puppet

Name: Mishiqua

Age: 2000 yrs. (Appears to be 18 forever)

Appearance: Mishiqua has golden blond hair that tumbles to her waist in ringlets, and deep blue eyes that resemble the sea. She is also fair skinned, slim, and elegant.

Personality: Though she is roughly 2000 years old, Mishiqua remains as she was at age 18. But with a few changes:
Sirens are dangerous, and even though it wasn't Melody's intention to do so, Mishiqua is lethal. She has an aura that draws people in so that they'll do almost anything for her. And though Mishiqua has never intentionally misused this ability before; she can't help but get what she wants. However, when she doesn't, you might as well have released the Kraken.
You see, sirens always experience the slightest emotions with a great intensity. When they're angry, they're murderous. When they're sad, they're depressed. And when they love, they love forever.
Because of this, Mishiqua is reckless, impatient, passionate, and rebellious by default. She is also fairly confident, flirtatious, and a total blabbermouth.

History: Mishiqua drowned in a shipping accident at the age of 18. She awoke underwater, surprised to find that she could still breathe. She then looked down to find that she also had a fishtail, like the mermaids she'd heard of in stories as a child. It was silver, and shimmered in the moonlight. She remembered she used to be human, but nothing specific of her old life. (Example: Remembers about mermaid stories as a child, but not who read them, what book, or what place, etc.)
When she swam to the surface, she sat on a large boulder to dry off. She then noticed that, gradually, she became human again.

Magic: Mishiqua can bewitch others with her voice (she's and emotion mage, and does this by making them fall in love with her everytime she speaks. They don't usually remember what happens after that), breathe underwater, speak to underwater marine life, and control the water and tides with her mind to a certain extent.

Puppeteer doesn't know...
... That there are other sirens living in the sea by Candira, and they have taken in Mishiqua as one of their own.

Other: If Mishiqua goes for too long (3-5 hrs) without water/moisture, she dies. And Mishiqua can only grow her tail when she is fully immersed in water.
Oh, and the coven of sirens she lives with don't exactly have the best intentions when it comes to mortals...

Up for love? Straight. Catch her if you can!

Yay, it's up! I'll reserve two puppets and a puppeteer.

My puppeteer:
- Name: Anna Urushibara
- Age: 18

- Appearance: She's a bit of a hippie. She likes flowery patterns and bright colors, and often wears loose summer dresses with converse or flip-flops. She collects glasses, and is as good as blind without them. She smiles a lot and looks friendly, but is actually a bit shy and avoids eye contact. She's about 5'4, slender, with dark brown eyes (colored lenses in the picture) and hair that is naturally black but that she has bleached and dyed.
Spoiler
Image

- Personality: She's kind and gentle but is often naive. She trusts and forgives people easily, which makes her very easy to use. Towards others she is always friendly, but of some reason she doesn't like looking people in the eye, so she looks at the nose or forehead of the person instead. Some people thinks this is weird, but she can't help it. She's not the first person to speak up. Even if she has some great ideas she doesn't say anything about it until she's certain than no one else will have a better idea because she's afraid that people will think she's stupid.

Anna is and always has been very romantic. She believes in love at first sight.. Actually she believes in all types of love, and is still dreaming of a knight in shining armor that is supposed to come rescue her. Not that she needs rescuing. Her life is fine, she has nice parents and friends but she finds it all to be dreadfully boring. The things she has written about is so much more interesting than her own life that the whole idea of attending university and getting a job actually pains her. She dreams of excitement and adventure, but is to comfortable in her old habits that she never ventures out to find any of that.

- History: She was born 1994 in Oslo, Norway. Her mother worked as a chef in a restaurant and her father was an electrician. She had a very normal childhood with school and friends. She wasn't exactly popular, but she had all the friends she needed, and had quite good grades. Writing came naturally to her, as she has a very vivid imagination, and she has been writing stories from the day she could write.

Anna's stories were always very fairytaleish until her parents got divorced. That was when she started writing deeper stuff. Family issues, suicides and stuff like that. Eventually, as she got used to her new life, she turned from realism to fantasy. A troubled main character getting swiped of his/her feet by a supernatural being and coming to a better world. She liked putting herself in her stories, since she dreamed of having a more interesting life.

When she was about 16 she stumbled over a new genre of manga that she hadn't read before. Shounen-ai. She got obsessed, and it showed in her writing. Suddenly all the female character seemed to disappear and be replaced by males. She started torturing her characters, giving them nothing to hold on to but each other, and she liked it. The pain of her characters gave her thrills that she had trouble explaining. She just liked breaking them down until she could work with only raw emotions and nothing else.

She wants to become a writer, so she decided to take a class in creative writing in her spare time. A guy in the same class showed her some poems that he had written, and she fell in love with him before she had even finished the first line. Many of her characters are based on him in one way or another, including Dusty. She wanted to go to the same university as him, hoping that he might be her poetic knight in shining armor, and was in the middle of applying when she suddenly found herself in the world of her novel.

- About your writing: Her novels are all about hot angsty guys and their dysfunctional relationships to each other or others.. Mostly each other. Some people might call it smut, but she doesn't see it that way. She tortures her characters to the point where they have nothing to hold on to except each other and then she makes them fight as well, but they always make up in the end. Demons, vampires and other dark creatures are always featured in her novels. Her writing often lacks descriptions, since she sees the novel play out like a movie in her head and therefore sees everything so clearly that she forgets to describe it. She doesn't think she's creating character or plot since it just comes to her. She doesn't force anything, but just writes down what she sees.

- The way you described the World: She never talked much about the Land in her story, except mentioning in the beginning that one of her characters came from a poor and small village on the outskirts of the Wild. Her puppet lives in an abandoned old castle in the modern part of the Wild. A barren, isolated place with little or no connection to the rest of the Land. It's huge and towers over its surroundings. The north tower has already collapsed along with the north side. It's said to be hunted and is the type of place that parents warn their children about. Deep inside there are a few cambers that differs from the rest. Those chambers are warm and inviting with big medieval furniture. Fit for a king, one might say.

-Their Puppets: Dusty

- Other: Up for love, bi.. But she is horribly in love with her own characters (though that will change as soon as she gets to know them), and the guy from her writing class.

My puppeteer's puppet:
- Name: Dusty. Has used many names over the centuries. Oliver (who wasn't even ten at the time) named him Dusty 'cause he was so dusty.
- Age: Ancient. Has been around, some way or another, since the dawn of time. Retains the looks of a 25 year old.

- Appearance:
Spoiler
Image
Much like this picture, though his eyes would be completely black, no whites or anything. He looks haughty and bored most of the time, and doesn't truly smile towards anyone else than Oliver. His height (6'2) enables him to look down on most people. He's well-toned but not overly so. Always dresses in black and nothing but black. Wears big 18th century shirts with a vest and modern slim jeans. He has tried everything, and that's the clothes that he likes the most.

- Personality: Distant, to say the least. He isn't lost in thoughts but seems more like he's watching from far away. He's like a bored king, perched on his throne in his castle, looking out on the world but not caring even if it burns. Actually, he'd prefer if it burned, 'cause that would be interesting. He rarely takes any interest in his surroundings and ignores anyone who trespasses in his castle. If he's feigning interest in you then he'll act playful and tease (teasing for him most often means outright cruelty for others, and he takes pleasure in being cruel to others) a lot, that is the only way he'll act (if he doesn't ignore you) towards anyone else than Oliver and Griz.

He's old, really old, he has seen and done almost everything, and this world doesn't hold anything of interest to him anymore, or at least it didn't before he met Oliver. Dusty doesn't need to sleep or eat, but both are considered luxuries. He spends most of his time with Oliver or sleeping, just to make time pass. The thought of suicide occurred to him before meeting Oliver, but of some reason he never went through with it. He 'blames' it on being too used to being alive, but it's actually because he was still hoping that something interesting might happen. He'd never admit that, though. He doesn't believe in hope, dreams or positive thinking. In his world there's only the cold hard reality that matters. This had made his relationship with Oliver a bit difficult. He used to refuse to see love as anything more than wishful thinking, and therefore refused to feel anything towards Oliver except.. Well, except something. When Oliver offered him his soul and Dusty didn't want to take it he realized just how much Oliver matters to him. He's very protective of Oliver, even though he acts like he doesn't care most of the time, and will risk everything to keep him safe.

- History: Dusty was once one of (if not the) greatest demons in the Land. He devoured every soul that he came in contact with, whole villages at the time. He grew more and more powerful, and his fellow demons grew more and more jealous. Eventually a large group of demons gathered to try to stop him by drawing his power out of him. They tainted the soul of a beautiful woman, changed it so that whenever a demon tried to devour it they would be sucked in instead, and then they forbade Dusty from touching that soul. True to his nature, he did the exact opposite. Most of his power was drawn into that woman and destroyed. He would've died if the woman hadn't been so weak. All that power killed her, and Dusty survived, but just barely. He was reduced to a form very close to human, but managed to retain a few powers, his immortality being one of them. A friend of his, one of the few he had, pitied him and promised that is someone were to give him their soul out of free will he'd get his powers back.

For centuries Dusty searched for someone who would be willing to give him their soul, but everyone refused. Those hungry black eyes made it quite difficult to gain the trust of another person. Eventually he gave up, and decided to just wait and see. With some of his last powers he summoned a hellhound (Griz) to guard him, since he knew he wasn't strong enough to defend himself if any demon decided to go after him. He found a castle inhabited by a mad old man and his poor servants, and decided to make the castle his home. Griz 'took care' of them for him and he moved in. He didn't have anything better to do, so he slept. He slept for a long time, not even waking when the north side of the castle fell or when the layer of dust on him grew so thick that he had trouble breathing.

Griz grew bored of his master's sleep so he took long walks through the Wild. He found a village on the outskirts of the Wild, and felt that there was something special in this village, so he decided to go and take a look. On the road through the village he found an unconscious boy, not even ten years old. He had been beaten to a pulp and left to die. Of some reason Griz felt that the boy was supposed to live, so he carried him back to his master. At first Dusty refused to help the boy, and was quite angry that Griz had waked him up, but after seeing how persistent Griz was he eventually gave up. He fed the boy some of his blood, and took care of him until he was as good as new. When he realized how messed up the boy was, and how much the by needed him he figured that if he took the boy in he might give him his soul later.

Oliver and Dusty lived together in the castle for about seven years before Oliver finally told Dusty to take his soul. Dusty had told Oliver about his past, knowing that the boy would eventually want to repay him for all that he had done for him. Dusty had all intention of finally reaping what he had sown, but when it came down to it he found that he couldn't. Oliver had stopped being food and become something completely different. He already knew that Oliver loved him but it wasn't until then that he realized that he loved Oliver as well.

- Magic: Yes. He moves things with his mind and with the help of simple hand gestures. He can see through the eyes of Griz (look at Oliver's profile) and can control Griz if he wants to. His blood has healing properties, so he's quick healer. Dusty has lost most of his powers, but Griz is a dangerous weapon to be reckoned with, and so is Dusty's telekinesis.

- What their Puppeteer doesn't know about them: Anna likes to think that Dusty will eventually get kinder and warmer (towards everyone, not just Oliver), but that will never happen. Dusty cares of no one but himself, Oliver and Griz, and nothing will ever change that. He is in fact much crueler than Anna thinks, and it isn't rare for him to entertain himself by torturing others.

- Controlled by: Anna Urushibara

- Other: Up for love? Kind of, if he actually finds you interesting. Never anything serious, though. He'll break it of before it becomes anything more than.. Nothing. In the end he'll always return to Oliver.

Other: (I'm not planning on writing POVs for him)
- Name: Oliver
- Age: 19, soon to be 20.

- Appearance: 5'11, gray eyes, blond hair, fair complexion. He's slender, but stronger than he looks. He doesn't really care what he wears as long as it doesn't look too sloppy, and that's only because he wants Dusty to think that he looks good. He tries to keep his hair back, but it doesn't always listen to him. He has piercings in both ears and a silver ear cuff in the right one. He also had a plain silver chain around his neck that he never takes of. He tends to have a blank (or dead, as some might say) expression on his face, nearly impossible to read, and the only time he shows any other expressions is when he's with Dusty or Griz.
Spoiler
Image

- Personality: Oliver is very closed of. He doesn't trust anyone, he doesn't even want to trust someone. He hates people and believes that they will do nothing if it's not for their own gain, and if everyone else is like that then why should he be any better? He has no empathy for other people, and uses them as he see fit. He can be very cruel at times. He doesn't smile to anyone and only talks when he thinks he can gain something from the conversation. The only exceptions to those rules is Dusty, who he values more than anything in the world, including himself. Towards Dusty he acts very sweetly and even smiles and laughs sometimes, He has nothing against animals, and trusts Griz with his life.

- History: The small village that he was born in was poor, extremely poor, and had very little contact with the outside world. When his mother died of an illness he counted on his father to take care of him, but instead the father left one night, and Oliver was left to fend for himself. He has never forgiven his father for leaving him, nor his mother for dying.

A neighbor took him in for about a month, but they couldn't afford to take care of him so they threw him out as well. This was repeated a couple of times, until Oliver finally lost all believes in human kindness. He started stealing, but was discovered several times. Eventually the villagers grew tired of the thefts, they had nothing to spare, after all. A group of them, including the ones that had taken care of him earlier, cornered him and beat him until they were certain that he would't survive. That was when Griz found him and brought him to Dusty.

Oliver should've been afraid of the demon, he knew that, but of some reason he wasn't. The demon had healed him, but Oliver didn't feel thankful, rather the opposite. He knew the demon would want something in return, as everyone did, but when Dusty didn't ask for anything Oliver once again started to believe that maybe he was different from everyone else, maybe he truly was kind without expecting anything in return.

When Oliver first woke up in the castle he was broken, if not physically then mentally. He was dead inside, not feeling anything at all. At first Dusty needed to take care of him just like one would take care of an infant, but Oliver gradually came back. He grew more an more attached to Dusty, until the point where he panics whenever he doesn't know where Dusty is. As he got older he realized that he had feelings for Dusty that were far more than just admiration and gratitude. He actually loved the demon, and he couldn't stop even though he tried. When he was 15 he told Dusty how he felt, but didn't quite get the reaction that he had hoped for. Dusty told him to wait, and is he could say it again when he was 20 then he would consider. A simple answer, it might seem, and not a rejection either, but Oliver hated it. He tried to grow up quicker, by acting more adult, and kept nagging at Dusty, more or less begging him to consider now, rather than in fiver years. Dusty refused to change his mind, and after a while he started ignoring Oliver whenever he even mentioned it.

When he was 17 he asked Dusty about his past, something that he hadn't dared to do before. His past seemed dark, and he was afraid that Dusty might get angry if he asked. Dusty, however, did not get angry. He summed up his time in existence quite quickly and the only thing he bothered to go into detail about was how his power had been taken from him. For the first time in years he started doubting Dusty's intentions again. He dreaded that Dusty had only taken him in because he wanted his soul. This was all he could think about for days, until he finally decided that it didn't matter. He had already decided that he wanted to spend the rest of eternity with Dusty, so he might as well give him his soul. That way Dusty would never leave him. When he offered his soul Dusty refused, which took Oliver by surprise. For a moment he thought that his soul wasn't good enough, but then he realized why Dusty wanted him alive, even though Dusty himself didn't seem to know. Right now he's not so patiently waiting until he finally turns 20. The big day is only a week away.

- Magic: No magic, but he has a 'familiar' (more like a guard dog) named Griz. Griz is a hellhound who always stays by Oliver's side, and is fiercely protective of him. In his normal form he's a bit scary with his glowing red eyes and huge size. When he gets mad.. Yeah, take a look at the pictures and you'll see.

- How much and for how long do you know: Doesn't know anything about the Puppeteers and very little about the world. He knows the village that he's from, and he knows a lot about the modern part of the wild.

- Relationship with other characters: He's the protegee of Dusty. That's about it.

- Other: Not up for love, since he is obsessed with Dusty and always will be.

Another puppet:
-Name: Leonello "Leo" Baldovinetti
- Age: 18

- Appearance: He's adorable, really. He has warm playful brown eyes, brown hair and tanned skin. Leo has the sweetest smile, and he shows it quite often. He's not very tall, about 5'7, average build. His hands are slender and elegant, and he takes very good care of them since he wouldn't be able to play without them. He always has his violin with him wherever he goes. What he dresses in depends on where he is, 'cause he adapts his clothes to blend in, but her prefers light and comfortable clothes.
Spoiler
Yeah, it's Alexander Rybak :3
ImageImage

- Personality: He's the sweetest guy you've ever met. Friendly, kind, nurturing, warm. He's the type that makes you say: "Whoa, he is going to be the best father ever," and yes, during the day that's true. He takes good care of all his friends and never hesitates to help someone in trouble. He loves children and animals and is very playful towards them. He's Prince Charming as long as the sun is up, but when the sun goes down he drops the pretense and turns into the cold-hearted psychopath that he really is. If you thought Jack the Riper was bad, think again. He enjoys watching others suffer, especially the ones whose trust he has gained. It doesn't matter if it's a man or woman, child or adult, human or animal, he'll slice them up as soon as he gets the chance and he'll even play a beautiful melody while he does it. He always keeps something from his victim, a necklace or pocket handkerchief or something like that.

He's extremely ambitious and driven and is constantly striving towards a new goal. Every failure or mistake that he makes is a hard blow that he dwells on for years. He has a very hard time seeing his own flaws. He can't take critique, not in any form. Appearance is very important to him and he keeps himself neat and clean at all times. He likes being the center of attention, which is why he plays violin in the street as often as he can. He's very talented, and he knows it.

- History: Leo grew up in an orphanage, and because of his morbid tendencies no one wanted to adopt him. Eventually he learned that people avoided him if he was mean to them and that they feared him if they saw him kill an animal, so he stopped. Instead he tried to behave as the children who got adopted. His new sweet and friendly behavior was an immediate hit among the parents, and the proprietor never bothered to tell them about how cruel and sadistic he had been just a week earlier 'cause she just wanted to get rid of him.

His adoptive father was a successful violinist who performed at big concerts. He thought Leo how to play, and was amazed at the boy's talent. He hired a famous tutor for Leo who taught him as much as he could during the years that Leo stayed with the family.

The couple who adopted him got a child of their own when he was 14. She had colic and he couldn't stand her constant crying so he smothered her with a pillow. His lack of regret over what he had done frightened the couple, and they finally realized who he really was. They threatened to call the police, but Leo didn't want to go to jail so he grabbed a knife and killed them both and ran away.

Up until now he has been traveling from town to town, playing on the street to earn money. He never stays very long in the same town, since he knows someone is bound to discover him sooner or later.

- Magic: Yes. Depending on what he's feeling when he plays the violin he can make different things happen. He has no control over it, and therefore never plays when he's feeling down.

- What their Puppeteer doesn't know about them: He's actually beginning to feel a bit lonely, and wishes that he had someone like himself to travel with. Someone interesting who'd realize just how wonderful he really is. A partner in crime, maybe?

- Controlled by: Starleene's puppeteer

- Other: Up for love, if you dare. No preferences.

Right.
Up from now, you can claim only one character if you wish, as there's suficient number of them already.
If someone who has more than one character wants to switch to one and leave space for someone else (who comes later, since the slots will soon be closed), PM me.

Spoiler
Looks like I'm the first one done with my profiles :)

- Name (and gender if it's not obvious): Demeter “Demi” Morelli
- Age (12 to whatever, but normal human age): 16
- Appearance (pics welcomed, but written required. Keep on the real people pics, though): Dark-skinned, with eyes of a light brown/amberish color, she has short, neat, dark hair. She’s about average height and somewhat muscular from all that farm work. She likes to wear bright clothing, no matter how badly it’s all mismatched.
- Personality (make it a couple of paragraphs): Demi’s very much a people person. She was homeschooled, but the majority of the kids in the area were, so there were plenty of people to hang out with, anyway. She tends to think with more concrete thinking than abstract ideas, meaning that most of her stories don’t have much of a deeper meaning. Easily upset, Demi has trouble emotionally adapting to new situations. She’s fairly bossy, but most of her friends don’t mind much because of her enthusiastic attitude towards life. A non-conformist, Demi doesn’t pay much attention to the rules. However, she’s somewhat naive, having been relatively sheltered most her life. She trusts easily and has yet to see the darker side of life.
- History (what time (and place) are you coming from, what got you into writing, about family, so on) Demi’s from a family farm in the midwest U.S. modern day. She’s an only child, and her parents named her after the Greek goddess of agriculture hoping it would stick. Unfortunately, the girl wasn’t as down-to-earth as her parents would have liked, often making up fantasies about the closet she wasn’t supposed to go in and what the barn cat did when they weren’t home. Finally, her parents grew tired of her babbling and got her a notebook and some pens, and told her to write it all down instead of babbling about it to them. She was homeschooled, along with many other kids in the region because the bus ride was over an hour and the closest school was rundown and understaffed.
- About your writing (well, obviously fantasy-ish at least, but give us some details.. Do you like happy endings, do you care for your characters, do you see them as people, do you like it complicated or simple, is there love and so on): She loves happy endings, but only gives them to the hero. Her characters are just tools to her, like her family’s production animals, they’re a means to an end. She makes her plot fairly simple on the surface, but gives it a lot of twists and turns deeper down, just like real life. There’s love in her stories, and murder too. She doesn’t shy away from the gory descriptions and is perfectly cool with killing off a character (At least until she meets them.)
- The way you described the World (the world of the Puppets, that is, where we will all end up, give us a part of the description, of the place where your story is happening or such): Candira is filled with wondrous palaces for the rich artists and musicians that make up a small percentage of the population. However, every city has a dark side. They ignore the crimes perpetrated by the miniscule police force; the mistreatment of unwanted children. Some of the rich may not know about it, but others are very much aware; a few have even abandoned the disabled or ugly ones themselves. But not far from Candira, there is a tower in the woods. Many of the abandoned children have found refuge there with a kind mage. There is a cost to the people ignoring this mage, however. She works as an assassin for some of the rich of the city, those who don’t want rivals, and in return, they bribe the guards to ignore her taking children from the small jail and stealing food to feed them.
-Their Puppets (if controlling the other writer's Puppet character, only fill this when you're sure they're ok with it): Lienei the mage and Aenon the rich person :)
-Other: She likes to point out the cliches and stereotypes in stories, even when she uses them herself.

***

-Name:(Again, specify gender if it’s not obvious) Lienei Isrine (F)
- Age (7-infinity): 46
- Appearance:(Words necessary...) Lienei’s extremely pale, to the point where people often ask if she’s okay. The washed out blue eyes and the graying pale blond hair probably don’t help the impression that she’s completely colorless. She’s very short and frail-looking, but don’t let that deceive you. She wears fairly formal clothes which again tend to be pale, sometimes in pastel shades. Not pretty though, her face already has deepening wrinkles from her stressful life.
- Personality: To most people, Lienei seems rather cold and aloof, although she drops that mask with the children. She feels that the world is using her, and anyone who knows her past can hardly argue the statement. Because of her magic, she tends to hold her emotions back, but sometimes they’ll escape. She’s serious and restrained, and doesn’t have much of a sense of humor. Immediately suspicious of most people, nevertheless she’s easily dominated, worrying that the children could be hurt by whoever she’s talking to. If you do actually pose a physical threat to the children, however, watch out; you’re going down. She’s in no way a perfectionist, but if you call her, she’ll get the job done. She views love as a lie.
- History: Lienei was abandoned in the streets as a child because she was frail and not likely to live. She wasn’t abandoned until she was about four years old, so she remembers her parents leaving her even as she cried out for them. Lienei turned to thievery to make a living, but eventually was betrayed by her emerging magic. Arrested, she waited in jail for a long time, expecting nothing more then to starve to death, not knowing how to control her new magic. However, Darai Senior came to her and explained that he would pay her bail and the cost for someone to tutor her in magic, along with any other costs she might incur, as long as she’d repay him with ‘a few small favors.” She agreed, not knowing what kind of situation she’d put herself in.
Darai fulfilled his promise and she learned the ways of magic. The payment came later on, when he asked her to kill a particularly annoying rival. She refused until he told her that he could make life very painful for her until she begged for death. Still young, the woman submitted.
Over time, the costs ratched up and so did the kills. When she saw a blind boy being treated the same way she had been, she killed the guard tormenting him and saved the child. Darai demanded that if she wanted him to pay for the child, she’d have to keep the boy away from him, so she took a home in a tower outside of the city, living in isolation except for the boy. She saved more children later on, and once a basketful of kittens from being drowned, so now her tower has around ten or so children from infants to age fifteen, a pack of cats wandering around, and a goat, so she can have milk to help infants. Very costly. When the younger Darai inherited her servitude, she started wondering if she’d ever be free of her debt. It doesn’t help that they’re too powerful to kill without severe repercussions, and that the only reason she hasn’t been attacked for killing their rivals is because of said power.
- Magic or no, and what type: Yes, emotion magic.
- What their Puppeteer doesn't know about them: Since Demi only writes Lienei during her assassination missions, she doesn’t know much about the children or the litter of kittens the woman has at home.
- Controlled by: (Leave blank for now if you're not controlled by your own character/have a deal with another SBer): Demeter

***

-Name:(Again, specify gender if it’s not obvious) Aenon Darai (M)
- Age (7-infinity): 23
- Appearance:(Words necessary...) Aenon’s dark-skinned with deep gray eyes and frizzy black hair that no matter what he does, won’t stay flat. He’s about average height and tends to wear very rich clothing. He’s attractive and he knows it, using it to his advantage.
- Personality: Charming, Aenon is a complete flirt. A social butterfly with a darker side, you could say. He doesn’t follow the rules much, reasoning that he’s so rich, he can bribe the guards if he gets in trouble(and he does.) He seems to have no inhibitions, and most of the ladies in Candira have been with him one time or another, though the smarter ones aren’t surprised when he abandons them for another. He’s shrewd, manipulating many of the ladies who’ve shared his bed for leverage against his monetary rivals. Most would look at him and say he’s harmless, when he’s anything but.
- History: Aenon was born to a family of artists, and grew up rich and happy, spoiled. He’s the eldest of three children, all boys, and somewhat the black sheep of the family due to the trouble he’s caused with his various flirtations. Things grew to a head when his father considered disowning him. No one is really sure whether the old man’s sudden illness was natural or not, although there are whispers. One look at Aenon, though, and they shake their heads, saying that fool couldn’t possibly have done it. Aenon inherited the majority of the estate and family funds, and proceeded to laze about furthering his political agenda. He had also inherited the debt/indenture/servitude of Lienei, and used her skills as his father had;as an assassin.
- Magic or no, and what type: No.
- What their Puppeteer doesn't know about them: He looks down on the common folk, believing that if they don’t have money it’s their fault, and completely ignoring the fact that he inherited his own funds.
- Controlled by: (Leave blank for now if you're not controlled by your own character/have a deal with another SBer): Demeter (But not once she enters the fantasy world.)

Puppeteer 1:
- Name: Lilith Cypher (Lily or Cy for short)
- Age : 15
- Appearance: A short, thin girl with pale skin, dark purple hair and black eyes. Her hair is rather long, reaching half of her back, wavy, and messy, some of the strands curling in random directions. She has rather sharp facial features, full lips and this nose, and straight fringes. Lily likes dressing in long skirts and tight tops, wearing a lot of silver pendants and rings, though she almost always covers it all with oversized black coat that used to be her brother's.

- Personality:
She is mostly a quiet, calm girl who keeps away from troubles, but one can tell she knows how to look after herself. She doesn't really show her feelings and dislikes laughing, as well as attracting attention to herself. She is, though, a person who can easily get attention if she happens to need it - she doesn't speak loudly, but everyone listens when she does, and she knows her way of talking people into anything.
She is amazing in making people trust her, yet she doesn't trust others, and never gives as much as she gets. She looks after herself before anyone else, and even if you tell her the darkest secret, she will tell it off if it's in her better interest. The thing is, she's good in finding holes in every rule, promises included - unless you're very careful, she will find a way to talk herself out of every blame.
Lilith also loves making deals, and those she keeps by the same logic as promises. She's, due to her history, rather closed up and good in reading people, and prone to sarcasm and teasing, as well as lying if needed. She loves the sound of violin and rain, and is afraid of being left alone in the dark or being suspended so she can't move.

- History : Lilith was born to a family of writers, and left alone in the world after a devastating fire that devoured her family home. She was then sent to an orphanage, and from there to numerous Forster homes, but she never truly adapted. At the age of thirteen, she left the last home she was in and stayed out in the streets, not caring for anything but her papers, stuffed everywhere in her pockets, and an old pen she kept all the time.

- About your writing: Lilith especially enjoys writing about villains. Due to her history, again, she met all kinds of people, and she is capable of creating the worst characters - which she very well did with Corin, her Evil Lord of the Wild. She gave him every personality trait she hated at people she met, making him the worst enemy one would wish for, but also gave him a weakness, the very reason how he became who he was. She sees her characters as people, loves complicated plots and dislikes happy endings, and enjoys manipulating the readers' feelings for characters, offering more than one POV in her stories and novels.

- The way you described the World: She wrote of the Castle in the Air City of Celest, the town of magic and prosperity in which young princess Kyra spends her days, and of the Wild surrounding it. She imagined that part of the Wild inhabited with monsters of a time ahead of her own - creatures she pulled out of her mind and others she built after the normal animals, like spiders or giraffes. From the dark woods of an island on the biggest of Futuristic Wild's lakes, rises a sleek tower, in which a magician of darkness and fear lives, plays the violin and dreams of his long lost lover up in the Air City and the revenge he must take.

-Their Puppets: Corin (my own NPC, the Evil Lord I just mentioned above, he uses Mind Magic)

- Other: She's young, but up for love. For some of the Puppeteers, she might be too young, but in the World, well, there are different rules.

Puppeteer 2:
- Name: Dorian Drai (ooc, my novel characters will curse me for this)
- Age: 19

- Appearance: His hair black and curly, his eyes in a shade of gray. Dorian looks like a noble and acts like a noble, but is far from a noble. He is tall, likes wearing pocket watches and jewelry, and dress as a member of high society, yet if you look closer, you will find his hat and clothes in need of good wash and repairs, his watches mostly not ticking anymore, and his figure being way thinner than a grown man's should be. He also has five scars on his stomach and ribs (left side), from where a thug once stabbed him. Dorian only survived thanks to the thug's poor knowledge of anatomy.

- Personality: Dorian is what you'd call a charmer, always ready to enchant with his stories and sonnets, and get the attention of a lovely lady or two. He teases and acts recklessly, but is extremely loyal once you get his trust. He dreams big dreams, but dislikes being optimistic, and often uses sarcastic remarks instead of directly answering questions.

- History: In the Victorian times, he was born to a clockmaker's family, being the only child. His mother died giving birth to him, and his father's job went hard from then on. Ever since he knew how, Dorian's been writing stories and poems, and doing little puppet shows for the children. He left home to travel at the age of 16, seduced and manipulated many, lost a few friends and learned some life lessons, and will fall asleep in his small flat above a public house when he'll get moved to the World.

- About your writing: He enjoys learning of taboo topics and also write about them, and he tends to get quite twisted in his writings. He often makes anti-heros, and leads them through a lot of unpleasant events, yet he more often than not gives them a happy ending. It is very important to him to make their characters unique in some way, and give them a voice.

- The way you described the World: Dorian, in his never finished novel, wrote of the city named Marknam, the small medieval town of the Land, and of a woman living there...

-Their Puppets: Fruit's Puppet character, Alayna Morgan

- Other: Up for love. Oh yes, and other things as well :3

Puppet:
-Name: Penelope Temeraire
- Age: 8

- Appearance: Well, she is a child, but she is also the younger princess, so she isn't exactly allowed to be a child. Her eyes are light brown, seeming almost golden at certain light, under long lashes and on the face of flawless skin. She has rather symmetrical features and wavy hair that falls just s bit under her shoulders. The hair is goldbrown as well, with a hint of something that almost seems green now and then. Her lips are quite red, and she loves wearing flowers in her hair. She dresses in shades of green and golden as well, and loves dresses with bows or lace.

- Personality: Pen is playful and imaginative, yet she isn't as cheerful as a child should be. From the day she knew of herself, she's been taught how to be the heir's heir, following her older sister Kyra around and listening to the stories people told her. She knows of what was happening in her sister's life - of love that she holds for someone she once exchanged letters with, and of the sadness when Kyra learned that man was killed so she could marry another - and though is younger, feels protective towards her sister. She dislikes sweets, and prefers sour tastes, being especially fond of lemons, and enjoys climbing high trees and walls, and exploring dark hallways and hiding places.

- History: Apparently, not all that much to tell. She was born the second child, another daughter, and was raised to take the throne if something unfortunate happened to her sister. They have got her the best Mages to teach her - she was, just like her sister, best in the Emotion Magic - and she is already very good at it. She doesn't know how to use it offensively, though, like Kyra can, but she can manipulate her own emotions so good that she can transfer her spirit to any creature (she only did animals so far, though). While she's doing it, though, her body is helpless, so she is always heavily guarded while performing her magic. Her reach also isn't far, the creature must stay in range for her to be able to stay in it's body and form.

- Magic or no, and what type: yes, Emotion.. I actually explained this above, lol.

- What their Puppeteer doesn't know about them: She is terrified of water, so much that she can't even think of the Sea of any of the Lakes in the Wild. She discovered this by an accident, when she suddenly freaked on a boat trip.

- Controlled by: Shadowlight's Puppeteer

- Other: well, too young for love, but loves making friends

In the winter months, snowstorms and rainfall in the Patagonian Ice Fields can drastically affect the landscape. Worsened by heavy winds, such storms can reduce visibility and lead to glacial calving, ice collapses, and avalanches. During these conditions, travel is not advised.
