Alice.
Melissa introduced herself and Alice smiled. Melissa had a certain gleam in her eyes when she talked about Mark and this made her want to smile more. How cute!
Then she raised the camera up and pointed it at Mark as he spoke to Alex. The bravest kid I've ever met... she thought.
"I want to record all of this," Mark had said. For who to see? What if this really was the end of everything? What if they all died right then with no reason why or any explanation as to what was going on? There weren't any answers for these questions and it made her want to scream. She swallowed a lump in her throat. Why did Mark want her to record this? Why not him?
It took a moment before it dawned on her and her heart sunk. Melissa stood close by, watching the screen as Alice zoomed in on him. Deep inside was the awful feeling that this may be one of the last times she ever got to see her friend again.

Lily

As she turned around, Lily looked out of the small window at the end of the corridor and saw tornadoes ripping their way across the island towards the building that the group was in. In the store, someone screamed. Lily gulped then pulled on her dog -tags. She didn’t want to die just because she didn’t like being in a group. Taking a deep breath, she stood up and went into the store just in time to see one last person hurry out of a heavy looking door.
Lily followed the person, sprinting down the stairs after them. They ended up in a huge car park with plenty of space for her to hide. She still wouldn’t have to join the group. She hurried behind a car in a corner and waited for the shaking to stop. The group huddled in the corner opposite. This seemed to be a recurring pattern. She smiled. At least she could observe them without being annoyed.
She saw a girl she hadn’t noticed before talk to Mark and Alice. The way she smiled when she talked to him showed that she had a crush on him. Strange girl. Nothing much seemed to happen after that. She swung her backpack around and took her notebook out again. She added the girl’s name, Melissa, to her list and wrote about the tornadoes in her report. She looked at what she had written and sighed. If she ever got back home, she wouldn’t tell anyone about her adventure, since no-one would believe her. Quiet little Lily wouldn’t be taken on an adventure like that. She was such a boring child. She tugged on her dog-tags then put away the notebook and fished around in her back, being careful not to hurt herself on the picks. She drew out a small length of cord with a sigh. She started tying and untying knots in it until she quietly dozed off.

Standing in the background is what I'm best at, so as everyone gathered around each other I took a step back and enjoyed the scenery. Even though this might be my last day to live, no telling with the way everything was going.. i still love it. Meeting people was awesome and this is my chance to know others..

Raisa
Raisa's spine was tingling with the danger overhead, with only so many feet of concrete to protect them. She was with Tadge, who wore a grim expression despite his usual poker face. She wasn't the type to sit and wait; she was the type to take action, but right now they were as helpless as poisoned rats. She needed something to keep her busy and keep that feeling at bay; Raisa already had had enough helpless feelings for a lifetime.
Your all going to die and you know it. You've never been good for anything, and just because you left Manhattan didn't mean your life would have been different. At least you could have stayed with Mary until the very last moment, but instead you left her with your mother and her next fling. And now Mary is probably dead.
Raisa pressed the palms of her hands into her eyes. That was the one place that she didn't need to go to. But it was too late, and now her mind chewed it over like a rabid dog. Images of Mary flashed in her eyelids, times when she was smiling and times when she was crying, but most of all times when Raisa had held her as the lock to their room jingled, an unfamiliar male's voice screaming at them through its drunken state. She thought of whether or not she was still alive, and her heart did a painful spasm.
She felt Tadge's eyes on her and she quickly fumbled through her backpack, blinking back blurriness. Her fingers closed around the sleek cover of her journal and she carefully pulled it out. She flipped open the cover, and on the inside Mary's smiling face taunted her.
If someone looked close enough, they could probably see the resemblance between them. Raisa and Mary both shared a delicate bone structure, big round eyes, and a small puckered nose as if someone had left a clothespin on it. They had clear skin and a thin mouth, but the similarities were layered over with the fact that they had different fathers. Mary had long and wavy dark hair that cascaded over her shoulders like the dolls she was fond of, and her eyes were a porcelain blue. Everything about Raisa's posture was defiant, while Mary stood near the side, her shoulders slumped slightly and her head bowed as if shying away from attention. Raisa remembered that the picture was taken when Raisa had whisked her out of the apartment to get a doll for her 10th birthday, and she had beamed her rare smile into the disposable camera, the doll clasped between her thin hands as if she would never let go.
Raisa pulled her eyebrows together, drying her eyes frustratingly. Too many people were grieving right now, and she refused to be one of them. So instead she snatched a pen out of her bag and flipped to a blank page. She pressed the pen to the paper and began writing where she had left off when she was on the bus a few hours before the world ended, filling in all of the details of the day and a half. She wrote her thoughts of each person that now huddled against the threat of the storm, and she wrote down the supplies they had. She shifted her body until her journal was blocked from Tadge's curious eye, and every now and then sent up a futile prayer to whatever god was listening, hoping to survive another day.
"we'll fasten it with some safety pins and tape and a dream, and you're good to go, honey."

Mark Handley

Alice steadied the camera, and pointed it to me as I was talking to Alex. That I could see in the corner of my eye as Alex walked away, sad and disinterested by my futile attempts to cheer him up.

He had taken on a lot of responsibility in a small amount of time, and that has hardened him. The first few attempts I did were successful, for a little while at least, but those quickly grounded to a halt as his demeanor changed towards me. I guess he now that of me as the same as all the others who tried to make him feel happy. I guess, in times like these, that people are all the same. Their true nature becomes prevelant, and they become biased, sexist, maybe even racist. Their roots start to show, especially when they realize they could become the one who dies.

I smiled at the camera, and the roof shook. The tornadoes had reached the building. I could feel the entire above-ground portion shudder at the force in which the wind was smashing the building. I could almost imagine the support beams that strut into the ground recieving the temors and calming them, forcing them down into the back into the earth.

They can only force so much though, my mind said to itself, and suddenly the image in my mind's eye changed, forcing the support columns to rupture under the force, causing the building to collapse onto itself.

The building shook again, shaking the image out of my eye and forcing me back into reality. I looked at Alice and Melissa, chatting with one another, as if the world was just as it was, and they were best friends in high school, just gossiping about what was happening with their relationships and about school.

But that would never happen again, nothing would ever be anywhere near close to that anymore. But I admire them actually getting along with each other. That gave me hope that we make actually make it out of here--

The roof started falling upon us, sending large boulders of concrete and copper pipes raining upon the garage. '"Run. Run!" I shouted, but they were already doing so. I looked toward Alice and Melissa, Alice with camera in one hand, recording everything still, probably from shock, and Melissa holding the other. Alex was in the lead, running down down a ramp towards what looked like the entrance/exit for cars. He was fast when needed, that would come in handy. I guess you need to be in these circumstances.

I started running, following Alice and Melissa. I saw cracks of surging through the parts of the roof not completely caved in, and I could see that we would not make it. Not Alice, Melissa, or I, for we were in the back. "Alice!" I screamed, hoping she would hear me through all this madness. She did, and both her and the camera turned my way. I used a large amount of energy, pushing forward to them.

"What?" She asked, somewhat out of breath.

"We aren't going to make it." She gasped, but continued running. Melissa turned to me.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded. "Not all of us." The rest of them reached the exit, and I could hear the roof falling, crumbling everything behind us, closing in silently, like a tidal wave of destruction and despair.

I pushed them, and they tripped, the force behind my push sending them forward and the small incline causing them to speed up. I smiled a small smile. They would make it.

There are one too many survivors. One of you does not belong. One will die within twenty four hours or else one will be chosen for you.

I guess whoever they were, chose.

I could hear the concrete above me crack, and I imagined the building above crumbled to nothing, then everything went to black.

Spoiler
That's the end of me. So, basically the building is destroyed, that's the plot twist.

Once again, so sorry to you littleauthor.

Alice.
No. No no no no! Alice stared at the ruble before her in shock. This can't be real. But it was. She had just watched her friend die. Beside her Melissa was trembling just as badly as she was. Melissa seemed as if she would cry. And she did, leaning against Alice who felt her own tears rushing to her eyes.
Alice could only wrap her arms around Melissa as they both sobbed there on the ground.

"No! no no no no!!!" I yelled. "this can't be happening!" I mumbled. Leaning into Alice, I cried. She was the only one I felt I could talk to, besides Mark, and he was gone. I ran towards the building trying so hard to get it off of him, nothing would work. "Alice help! You are strong. We have to help him!" I yelled to Alice. She ran over crying and still video taping, but said,"Melissa, you can't, I can't. He is gone!" Everyone else had kept running. "Why did this have to happen???? Really? Noone deserves this, not even him!" I Screamed. Then a note flew down from a tree and into my hand, "Someone will go next. Soon. Choose what you do wisely, you never know when it shall be your last." Alice read it too. "What did we do to deserve this?" Alice yelled. We cried together for about 30 minutes sitting beside the building.

I was trying to peek at Raisa's diary, but she kept moving so it was out of sight to me. I shrugged back against the wall and put my head in my hands. What am I doing here? Why did the end come so soon? Tears threatened to spill from my ice blue eyes, Don't you dare cry you idiot! Don't you dare! My brain screamed. I griped at my hair that hung down near my neck.

Raisa was still writing as I stretched. Something sharp dug into my leg from my jean pocket. I arched my back and lifted my hips trying to feel around for it. I couldn't feel a thing. I moved my hand around a bit more and felt something small and cold. My septum piercing! I thought I lost this. I frowned and put it to my face, it was still intact. I wounder if the hole has healed up yet? I stuck my finger over my septum and felt around for the hole. Raisa glanced at me frowning.

"I'm not weird I swear." I said holding up my piercing. She looked away and continued scribbling down things on her book.

A few minutes later I found the piercings hole and carefully placed it in, "Awh, fu-" I whispered. As it went back through. It was only half healed but man that killed. I bit down on my lip as my eyes watered. Raisa smirked at me. "Piercing hurts." I said holding my nose. I was about to smiled at her when the walls begun to shake. What's happening?

They have chosen, and they chose the wrong person Thoughts like this ran though Liam's head as the roof collapsed on Mark. He shook his head and buried it into his hands.

"Why?" He said looking up at the new hole in the ceiling. He let one single tear drop as he went over to the pile of rubble. He moved off a couple of pieces and looked to find Mark. Liam found his crushed body and lifted him out of the rocks. He laid him down on the concrete and took of his jacket. He laid the jacket over his face and sat down next to his lifeless body.

Alice and Melissa joined him. That sat there till the rest of the group joined. Liam felt like Mark needed a proper send off so he started to sing one of his mothers favorite lullaby's from when he was a child.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see

Liam finished the song and he closed his eyes and everyone joined hands.

I joined hands with everyone, as Liam was singing. His voice was beautiful. Tears were still pouring out of my eyes, I felt like I lost my own family member.. It was horrible. Alice was standing beside me staring out in space,"Are you okay Alice?" I asked. She looked at me as a tear fell down and smiled,"Yes. We have to be. For Mark. I know he wouldn't want us all sad and unfocused, because other people are still in serious danger." She lifted the video camera up and started filming everyone. Liam walked over to Alice and gave her a small reassuring hug. Then he looked at me and smiled. Everyone seemed so nice but so distant, to me.. I walked away and sat on a rock. "What am i saying?" I said to myself. "None of this will be okay."

Alice.
She sat alone but not too far from Mark's body. Leaning against the remains of a wall, she looked through the camera. There were pictures of Mark and friends hanging out around the monuments and smiling. Her heart gave a sharp twist as she got to the more personal pictures. Pictures of people she could only assume were his relatives, like the little old lady in an apron smiling warmly at the camera in one or the kids playing with a dog in another.
What would they think if they knew?
She kept flipping through until she got to a short video. She decided to play it. It was Mark on the screen, his back turned, and the person holding the camera, a female by the sound of the voice, was mocking him.
"How much did you say this camera was again?" the voice asked.
Mark mumbled his answer, obviously focused on whatever he was doing.
"Holy crap! What's so wrong with the disposable cameras? Are they too good for Mark-y?" the voice laughed.
"Shut up, Annie! You know--" Mark looked over his shoulder, "Are you recording? Well stop!"
The voice laughed and the screen went black.
Alice smiled. It reminded her that it wasn't all a dream. He was real. She thought back to when they first met and how he helped her. It brought tears to her eyes as she looked up from the camera to find Alex not too far away from her. He was staring at the camera in her hands curiously. She waved him over and he edged slowly closer.
"Do you wanna see?" she asked. He nodded and she made room beside her. Alex sat beside her quietly, hugging his knees, as he looked at the screen. Alice flipped through the pictures with him, bringing back Mark's memories.

He just died. Just like that. Right in front of everyone. I mean, I've seen a lot of deaths in my lifetime.. But him, this just can't be real. Please not be real! I closed my eyes then opened them, the roof was still caved in, people were still crying. I felt nothing, just numbness. This really feels so much like the end. Its surely is for Mark, who's next is it me, it could be anyone of us!

I just really need something. I don't know what it is, I just feel empty. Like there is a whole in my chest that just keeps getting bigger. It can't be fix, at lest not yet. I'm missing something. But what is it?

My mind was going overload as I looked out a small window to my left, we really needed to get out of here..

Lily

Lily woke up to the sounds of screams and falling rubble. She scrambled to her feet and out of the corner that she was in. If she became trapped, then that was the end of her. She had seen it happen to one of the climbers at the camp. Luckily, they had the proper equipment to dig people out over there. Somehow she doubted that they had the same equipment here.

As she dashed out of the corner, a lump of concrete fell from the ceiling, pinning her to the ground behind a car. She fell flat on her face and almost passed out from the pain in her ankle. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Mark push Alice and Melissa out of the way of a huge piece of rubble, then disappear underneath it. He had chosen. The tremors stopped and despite herself, let out a sigh of relief. Guilt coursed through her. Mark’s sacrifice had saved them all but it wasn’t something to be happy about. The piercing pain in her ankle reminded her of the situation that she was in. She turned over as far as she could and looked at her leg. Her foot was stuck underneath the piece of rubble and it looked too big for her to move on her own. She sighed. Just her luck.
Amazing Grace, punctuated with sobs, sounded from across the room. The sound was so sad that tears leaked into Lily’s eyes. She didn’t want to disturb the group’s remembrance, so sniffled quietly and waited until they had finished. Black spots were starting to cloud her vision when she heard laughs coming from where the group was. She sucked in a deep breath then screamed, “Au secours!” The laughs stopped and Lily heard whispers then steps coming towards her. A head rounded the car but she was already unconscious.

Rounding the corner, I seen a girl lying there unconscious. Alice, me, and Alex were all looking at her. "We need to help her!" I said. So we all ran to help dig her up using some shovels to move it out the way. "Is she okay?" Alex asked. I looked at Alice and then checked the girls pulse, "She is alive, but her leg is horrible." Alice looked around and was trying to find something to wrap her leg up with. "We need to hurry, she is also losing blood."

An hour later the strange girl awoke. She got up in panic but immediately fell down because of her leg. "I'm Melissa, this is Alice, and he is Alex." I said to her. The girl just looked at us a little shyly, "I'm Lily."

Liam looked at Lily after she woke up and then heard a giant rumble.

Not again... He thought looking up to the ceiling for any sign of cracks. He saw none.

What the hell? He almost said out loud as the rest of the group looked around too. He shrugged it off as I crack was heard again. This time the door they had been blockading whipped open and in it stood a man. He smiled evilly and looked straight at Liam. He reacted instantly and picked up a piece of wood and ran to protect Tabitha. He wrapped her in his arms as the man took out a knife. The group froze and they all ran to protect them selves and others.

The man was now closer to Liam and Tabitha and he had a glare put across his long scarred face. His long nose and tall strides inching closer to you second by second.

"Run and protect the others." Liam whispered in Tabitha's ear as he inched closer. Tabitha didn't move. He turned Tabitha to face him then gave her a light kiss on the nose and then gave her a light hug as Tabitha finally left Liam's stong arms.

The man chucked in the background as Liam turned the wood in his hand. As the tall mean man turned the knife in his hands Liam struck his across the face. The man glared at Liam and hit him in the head with the knifes butt. Liam slowly became dizzy as he got up again to only find the man slashing him across the fase. Blood dripped into Liams mouth as he spit onto the floor. They we now at hand to hand combat. Throwing punches and rolling on the floor till the man had pinned Liam and he was doomed. The man smiled as put a mask over Liam's mouth. He was out instantly being dragged away by the man.

akdsjfh you know that feeling where you start writing a scene but then you get bored with the scene so you move on and start writing a different scene and then you get bored with that scene so you move on to an entirely different WIP and then you get bored with that so you move on-
