BANG!

What the hell was that? Liam wondered as he walked home from football practice. He sighed and kept walking till he noticed it had become noticeably darker outside. A small note flew in front of Liam's face and he reached out and caught it just in time.

Go to the safe heaven. You'll be safe there. The note read. Liam read it over and over again till another bang sounded though the air knocking him off his feet.

Go you idiot! Run! Read another note that had just landed on his lap. Liam picked up his bag and ran as fast as he could down the long road. He finally arrived at a CVS and saw shadows of figures sitting inside. He looked at it for a second till he felt the earth break from beneath him. He quickly dived inside to find 7 other people huddling around each other in a tight circle.

"Uh hi," Liam said nervously as he sat down next to a young boy around the age of 9. The young boy stared at him till Liam decided to stand up and take charge.

"So since the world has gone mad," He spoke letting his thick Australian ascent echo though the building "Maybe we should get to know each other a little."

He smiled kindly at the odd group and stood up to introduce him self. "I'm Liam Hindi and, uh, I have absolutely no idea the hell is going on, excuse my language, but I think we could make this work."

The group nodded as someone near the back of the group stood up.

Spoiler
Yes we are starting. Hope the begging gave you enough information to carry on :)

Alex lounged on his back with an arm behind his head. He has one eye closed into a wink and had his eye honed on a strange little faucet stuck on the ceiling. If the faucet was combined with the brown stain beside it and the long thin crease of the edge of a tile, it made a face on the ceiling that resembled the Nazi dictator. Alex aimed his fingers into a gun; his mission was to assassinate. He took aim at the valve and fired an imaginary bullet. It hit him right in the eye, exploding in a fiery inferno, creating a rain of poisonous gas. Alex ducked and covered, rolling to the side and covering his mouth like a gas mask, the assassination had turned kamikaze!

“Shh!” hissed a stick-like girl beside him and gave him a subtle glare. He glared back, he didn't like the girl. She had grabbed him when he was outside and pushed him into the building with her. She was bossy and she smelt funny, the type of fragrance that made his nose itch. He focused back on the ceiling and remembered the imminent danger.

The explosion had started to make the roof crumble! Alex shaded his eyes against the falling rubble as a huge boulder burst through the roof, landing square on the floor and squashing the entire group of annoying teenagers with the girl right in the centre. What a perfect shot! Two in one! Hitler had been defeated along with his group of Nazi minions!..... If only…. The group of them were discussing something, who knew what they were plotting, Alex didn't like them, they made him feel shy and small, he wanted to hide away, he wanted his mother…

Where was she? She has vanished when the world went all weird. At that moment Alex had felt like crying, but he did not, big boys didn't cry, that was only for babies. He rolled back over and gazed at the group, who being immune to his imagination, were still very much alive. There was a big boy standing up in the middle, telling the others about something or another, a group of girls were listening intently.

Suddenly his gaze landed on another older boy who seemed to be watching him. As he met his gaze the other boy winked, he kind of looked like Alex’s dad but different at the same time. He smiled and secretly drew his fingers into a gun shape so only Alex could see. Alex grinned back and dodged an imaginary attack from the enemy, almost laughing out loud as he lost his balance. He turned around to fire back and his smile turned into a frown, the boy was no longer looking at him and was listening to the others patriotic speeches.
Alex just wanted to go home. This was the worst day ever.
Hahah....haha.....ahahaha.

Steave sat stiff and cold on the floor of the CV building that he, as well as seven other people had takeing refuge in. He was sandwiched between two girls. The one on his right wore glasses, wich made Steave a little calmer. For as long as he could remember, people with glasses always seemed trustworthy and nice. And the other had a perfect heart shaped face... Almost to perfect. Her face made Steaves stomach twist into knots. Amanda had had a face like. He put a hand to his head, what was he thinking? Amanda was gone and that was the painful truth. "Get over it!" He told himself.

Just then, a boy around Steaves age burst through the door. He looked anxious and began saying things about the world blowing up. Steave looked at him in confuetion and noddid like a good noodle. "Yes." he thought, " the world is ending.

Alice flipped open her phone again and looked at the signal. There was none. Earlier she had tried calling her mother over and over but she couldn't get reception. It felt like her heart dropped to her stomach and she was close to tears. What if she never saw her mom again? Or her dad? Closing the phone and slipping it back into her bag, she sighed.
What is going on? she thought desparetly.

Raisa fingered her backpack, eyeing the unexpected weather. The bus she was on was one of the more filthier ones she had been on, with an unidentified odor that burnt her nose and a hobo on the back seat that would cry out something illegible every now and then. A baby was crying somewhere, and Raisa was put on edge by a middle- aged man that kept glaring at her. She had learned what that could mean a long time ago.
Suddenly the bus shuddered, a heaving sigh of exhaust rattling her spine as the bus came to a sudden halt. She peered over the torn cushions, watching as the other passengers stood and looked through the front windshield. The storm had turned for the worse, looming over D.C. like a knife over a throat. The road had jagged claw marks running through it, and for some reason the driver was nowhere in sight.
The passengers quickly turned into feverish ants as they skittered off the bus with their things, seeking shelter. Raisa grabbed her backpack and moved outside, pointedly going around the middle aged man. Suddenly a piece of paper flew into her face, and glaring she snatched it off and caught the message out of the edge of her eye.
Go to save haven. You'll be safe there.
The paper disappeared as it danced into the air, and Raisa turned around and spotted a CVS. She darted towards the entrance, but slid to a stop when she saw that other people were already in it. Her fingers fingered her knife she kept in her sleeve, eyeing them.
She decided that they weren't a real threat, and that she could always run back out if they tried anything. She lowered herself to the ground where they were circled. A guy about her age busted through the doors, then slowed when he saw them.
"Uh, hi." he said. Raisa thought that his accent sounded especially comical for the situation. "So since the world has gone mad, maybe we should get to know each other a little."
He kept rambling, and she noticed that he had an natural air of command, like someone that could tell you something crazy and make a person believe it. She immediately distrusted him for it.
"we'll fasten it with some safety pins and tape and a dream, and you're good to go, honey."

Tadge staggered hopelessly off the plane.. He had been so thankful that before his parents died they had brought them. Tadge looked around at the destruction and sighed. A tiny note of paper fluttered into his hands, he looked around, Where had everyone gone?
He took a closer look and read it over, Go to the safe heaven. You'll be safe there.
He scoffed. And shoved the paper away, but it kept coming right back to him. He frowned and decided to go find this "safe haven."

Tadge wondered the ruin streets for what seemed like hours, his water was all finished, his legs were killing him. He was ready to give up. When heard noises coming from a building. He silently walked over and peered through the small crack. The door squeaked as he opened it, all eyes turned to him. "Is this the safe haven..?" He frowned.

Tabitha paged through her album, skimming past the family photos until she reached the slip of paper. The paper was stuck on the top of a blank page of the album. "Go to Safe Haven. You will be safe there." it read. She had been searching for so long, a safe place where she could take care of herself.

It had to be some where in D.C. because that's where she had found it. Whatever Safe Haven was, she prayed that it was nearby. Tabitha tossed her skateboard on the ground and rode through the disheveled streets. She took pictures of the mysterious catastrophe with her insta-camera as she moved past. Tabitha paused for a moment to wait for a photograph to turn out. Suddenly, a slip of paper tumbled through the air into her grasp. It was similar to the one she had found before, very similar.

It said, "Run you idiot!"

Tabitha laughed at the strange note. Her chuckle echoing through the deserted avenues eerily. The ground began to shake again, more violent than the first time. Tabitha released the note from her grip and picked up her board. With a pounding heart and her camera thumping against her chest, she sprinted.

Tabitha didn't know where she was going. Actually, she did: Safe Haven, wherever that was. She rounded a corner and spotted a CVS. Shadows and figures moved from within the CVS. In the spur of the moment, Tabitha decided to take her chances by seeking refuge in the CVS.

Tabitha dived inside the building and attempting to catch her breath. She rose wearily, her board still in hand, and finds herself in the presence of a group of survivors of the madness.

"Is this...?" She asked breathlessly.

"Yes, welcome to Safe Haven." A boy welcomed her and invited her to be seated.

Tadge glanced at the new girl, but looked away when her eyes scanned everyone in the room. Tadge had been there for a few hours now and hadn't said anything since he introduced himself. He played with a frayed rip in his skinny jeans and waited for something, anything to happen. What am I meant to do in here. He shook his head. It's not like you have anyone or anywhere else. He was having a war inside his head.

Raisa started to become agitated, like a cat being cornered in an alley. There was no action, no screaming, and certainly no one coming up with any good ideas, besides sitting in a circle and talking about themselves while the world went crazy. It was beyond ridiculous that she wanted to kick and scream like a two year old.
Suddenly she stood and stiffly walked towards the store's window, surveying the destruction with tightened lips. It would be better if she stayed with them for now, she decided.
She turned on her heel and stretched her legs until she was almost jogging down the isles, ignoring the other people that looked at her incredulously. Her eyes shifted over the items until she reached the back of the store, where the offices were.
She yanked on the doorknob, finding it locked. This only made her more annoyed, and she pulled out her thinnest knife she had and slid it effortlessly into the keyhole. She pushed the knife in deeper and the door clicked open. Huffing, she pushed open the door and slid into the hallway on silent feet, pricking her ears for signs of movement and slowing her breath until she was positive that she was as quiet as a ghost.

Liam finally realized he was losing people. After a girl stood up and left to look though the CVS. He sighed and decided to let the other people go their own way.

"OK gather supplies and search though the store," He directed not realizing how controlling he was becoming. The others groaned till he decided to apologize to them. "I'm sorry that I have become so controlling, its just who I am. Please tell me off if I'm becoming too much."

The 8 other people sitting on the floor nodded and got up to get supplies. The little boy who seemed very shy ran off down the isles using his hand as a gun. Liam smiled thinking about the boy and how calm he seemed. A girl Liam haven't noticed before walked in front of him and she was probably the beautiful girl he had ever seen. He blushed slightly when she looked over at him. He quickly turned his back and walked away trying not to act any more obvious then he already was already acting.

Liam quickly set off to the medical isle and picked up a bunch of medical supplies that might come in handy if someone ever got hurt. Next he headed off to the fresh food isle and picked up all the food that would most likely go bad in the next few days. After he picked out a big kitchen knife he walked back to the front of the building where he dropped off his findings next to a small pack of oreo's obviously picked out by Alex. He set off the a set of stairs he had seen when he was looking for the knife. He climbed it to find a small gym filled with heavy weights. He smiled and picked up the 50 pound one gosh this is great training for football He thought. oh wait, that life is gone. He sighed and set the down the weight and walked back down stairs to sort though his bag to find what would be helpful.

She tip toed her way down the hallway, and saw a flicker of a shadow. It darted around the corner, and Raisa bolted after it. She didn't want anyone sneaking around that she didn't know of she thought, and rounded the corner as it disappeared down another hallway. This time she put her full speed behind it, catching up to the figure with her quick legs. Pulling out her knife, she skidded to a stop as she cornered it at the fire exit.
And it was a squirrel. It scratched feverishly at the corner of the door, his little heart visible as it hammered against his frail chest. Raisa sighed and laughed at herself. She had rushed down the hallways with a knife to capture a squirrel.
She opened the door and watched as it sprinted away, its bushy tail thrashing around like a strangled ferret. She still had a faint smile on her face when she closed the door, and then she realized that she had been followed.
She swiveled around and aimed her knife in front of her chest, crouching and staring way, way up into his startled face.
She remembered him from when everyone introduced themselves. He was tall, seeming like a tower compared to her miniature size, and had hair as dark as a raven's feather with skin that was paler than she had ever seen. His eyes were closed off, like he expected nothing good of anyone. She remembered his name: Tadge.
But the only thing she knew that happened when someone followed you down a deserted corridor was nothing good. She said the first smart remark that she could think of.
She said, "Is it your hobby to follow girls in deserted places?"
He stared at her, completely thrown off. She wanted to roll her eyes but didn't know him good enough to relax her stance. She was probably overreacting, but to her nothing wasn't worth suspecting when the world seemed like it was only holding by its fingertips.

Crunch, another packet of Oreos' hit the ground. It didn't matter, he was already struggling with the five other packets clenched tightly in his arms plus the one tucked in under his elbow and the two he was holding in his hands.
Oreos were Alex's favorite food. Ever.
He had already scoffed down a whole packet and now he was starting to feel sick from their chocolatey taste, but he didn't care, this stash was for later and all he had to do now was find the perfect hiding place. He wiggled his way out into the open, a whole lot of people had walked off to do their own things. He had spotted a boy following a girl down a hallway just a minute ago. His mom always had told him that boy and girl teenagers did bad things when they were alone; when he had asked what she refused to tell him. He narrowed his eyes, those two must be up to something evil, some sort of secret plot. A couple of girls were still seated in the original circle. One was the stick figure girl with orange hair who had shushed him earlier. She seemed kind of repellant from the others, ignoring a blond girls attempt at small talk. The blond girl seemed nicer, she was smiling and had wide rimmed glasses that were slowly slipping down her nose. Alex tried to move past the girls and smoothly as possible despite his awkward arm position.
"Hey kid!"
Alex almost dropped his bundle, he froze and turned his neck slowly toward the seated girls, the blond one was looking at him, he felt himself tense; was she going to yell at him.
"You cant eat all those, throw me a pack" she said casually. Alex relaxed and his pounding heart slowed, he awkwardly tossed the biscuits in his right hand toward the girl, glad she hadn't asked him to put them all back. The biscuits fell short by a few meters but the girl just smiled. Alex turned his face away and got about his own business. He scouted the room until he spied a flight of stairs leading up. He creeped over and looked up the stairwell. Deserted. At the top of the stairs he found a large room with exercise equipment, he had seen many of these around and had always wanted to play on them however he had never been allowed inside, his mum had said that no kids were allowed. He crossed the room to the far corner and spotted a kind of chair with a large space under some stones. He stuffed the biscuits into the gap, careful to hide the blue wrappers. Beside the chair were three running conveyer belts, Alex always forgot what they were called.
"Cool" he breathed under his breath. He jumped up and switched on all three at once, they went slowly at first but after some fiddling with the buttons he managed to get them to go faster. He had fun leaping along them until he suddenly heard the creak of the door opening. He dived off them, pressing buttons as fast as he could, and scrambled, climbing quickly to the top of a lifting machine and hid behind the instructions sign. He peeked through a small crack in the metal and noticed the boy that had been talking to everyone earlier emerge from behind the doorway. The boy took a moment to study the equipment is a professional like way, awing over a boring looking weight. Suddenly there was silence. Not quite silence. One of the treadmills had been left on and was making a sliding hum as it went round and round. The boy looked up and approached, looking confused; Alex held his breath.
"What are you doing up there?"
Alex gasped, and climbed down slowly, feeling embarrassed of being discovered, but the older boy didn't seem angry.
"Its not a playground you know." he said. Yeah right, thought Alex, this was the best playground ever.
The boy, Liam he thought his name was, sat down on on the chair machine.
"Would you look at this beauty" he muttered to himself, preening over the chair machine. He pulled down a lever.
Crunch. Alex's Oreo stash was reduced to dust.
Hahah....haha.....ahahaha.

Alice wandered through the CVS, peeking at the other people as she passed them. Her thoughts were all jumbled up as she tried to process what was going on. She avoided the windows. It was too frightening. There were ruins. She held back a whimper. Her mother was probably worried. If she was still alive . Tears pricked her eyes.
No, she wouldn't cry. Not now. Not in front of all these people. She needed to find a place to be alone.
Why is this happening? she thought. Why are we here? Where is my mom?
She felt like a small, helpless child. Luckily there was a room beside her she could duck in to. She yanked the door open, stumbled inside, and shut it behind her.
Finally, she thought to herself facing the door. Alone...
She squeezed her eyes shuts as the tears fell down her face. She covered her mouth to stifle a sob.
“Uh, are you okay?” somebody said behind her. She turned around, her eyes wide with alarm.
“I-I’m sorry,” she said trying to keep her voice level, wiping her eyes. “I didn’t know anybody was in here...”
“Yeah...You’re Alice, right?”
She nodded, looking the man in front of her up and down. He had dark skin and dark hair.
“You’re...gosh...”
“I’m Mark.”
She swallowed a lump in her throat.
“I’m sorry if I bothered you.”
He shook his head.
“No, you didn’t. Are you alright?” he asked genuinely concerned.
“Yeah. Thanks. I’m just so frustrated. I have no idea what’s going on and I want to go—” She stopped. She wanted to go home. The lump rose in her throat again.
No more crying, she thought.
“I understand. I do too. Trust me, we’ll figure this all out.” He flashed a reassuring smile. She smiled back. Then there was silence.
“I’ve got something that will cheer you up if you want,” he offered. Alice agreed to it and he held the camera around his neck and looked through the pictures. When he found the picture he motioned for her to come closer. The picture was of people with their hands out and palms up as if they were holding something invisible and some with their arms out as if they were leaning on something that wasn't there. The Washington Monument was in the background.
“You see,” Mark started, “From another angle it would look like they were holding up the Monument themselves. But from this angle they look pretty dumb, huh?”
Alice smiled and chuckled. It was silly but it was kinda funny.
“It’s like The Leaning Tower of Pizza,” he said. He smiled down at her as she laughed, wiping off the last of the tears from her cheeks.
“People are weird,” she replied. He nodded in agreement.
“Thanks,” she muttered her voice still slightly shaky. “I needed that.”
“No problem at all.” He patted her shoulder. “I’m glad I could help.”

They had all been told what to do, Tadge sat for awhile after everyone left. He didn't feel right in here. But he got up and walked around CVS, trying to find something. He'd seen most of the people getting alone, You'll always be the outcast. His mind whispered to him.

He rounded a corner and stopped short. There was a black backpack with a gun sticking out. Tadge silently walked over to it and looked around. His ice cold fingers wrapped around one of the straps as he slung it over his shoulder. Damn, this thing is heavy! He thought.

He heard soft footsteps walking his way.

A voice said, "Is it your hobby to follow girls in deserted places?" It was a girls voice. He didn't understand, he didn't mean to follow her! Tadge, looked down at her and gave her a cool glare. She is awfully beautiful. He though, but shook his head and ran off.

Tadge sat down on the dusty floor and open the backpack, Inside there was a gun, some snacks, water bottle, a small blanket, a scarf and a torch. He opened the front zip, he put his hand in but quickly pulled it out, Tadge closed his eyes, blood trickled from the cuts he had just gotten from the dozen knives that were stashed in there. You will NOT cry! He screamed in his head, as the pain became unbearable. Tadge reached for the scarf and wrapped it around his hand, the blood seeped through but slowed down the bleeding.
