Kali/ Black Mamba

I sunbathe on a rock, listening to their confused ramble. It was mostly amusing, and the other part was just annoying. Couldn't they just realize that this is paradise? I raise my head from my coils, testing the air with a quick flick of my tongue. I sensed nothing dangerous, so I set my head back down and fell asleep.
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills,
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

Cilli/Chinchilla

Again, i find myself rolling around in the sand, ignoring the strange looks as i spin and tumble in the heat. I keep my distance from these other animals around me, especially those pesky cats. Not too trustful yet.

I wish there was something to eat...

At that moment, he noticed a large dispenser that let out slabs of meat. He drooled as he floated over to it. He walked forward and stepped on the pressure plate, letting a slab fall in front of him. He quickly devoured it.

Maybe this place isn't so bad.

Well, you win some, you lose some. I wondered if I wouldn't be safer behind the clear stuff- what with the tigress and all. Did tigers even eat otters?

Apparently whoever put us here thought of everything. There were live fish swimming in the "river"; I thought of catching one but wasn't hungry enough.

...They didn't think of everything. Didn't they know otters like company?

Kali/ Mamba

I slither through the trees, following the smell of flesh. I was starving. The Chinchilla I passed looked delicious, but something else seemed more alluring. Everyone around me seemed confused at the current predicament. I welcomed it all too well.

I spring off my back legs and get to a nice spot in the tree and curl up. I lay my head on my paws and look around and I relax. Having just had a kill for the feed, I am content with everything and just relax.

Awakening yet again, I let loose a wide yawn and noticed one of the other animals smiling at me. I made a face. "Don't call me a hypocrite for the speech about accepting our animal identities, but I am not licking myself clean." I sauntered across the room to the pools of fresh water.

Ingot/ Fish

Around and around swam Ingot the fish and as she swam, she often forgot, but more often than not remembered. Right now she was remembering that she used to be able to speak and she pursed her fishy lips together and tried to form a sound. "You-" was the impending result. Ingot gurgled to herself and tried again: "You." With a gleeful movement of her fins and an eagerness to try out her newly remembered skill, Ingot propelled herself to the other end of the pond where another animal had come to take a drink. "You!" Ingot declared happily.

Tara/ jaguar

Tara opened her eyes warily, fighting through the fog that clouded her mind. She yawned and stretched, thinking of going downstairs to grab some cereal before her little brothers woke up, and started at the sudden reach of her body. When she looked down on herself she tried to scream, but it came out as a high-pitched roar that could scare the skin off of any chiwawa. She jumped into the air and swiveled around on her large paws, straining her neck to look all over her body at once. No, no no! she thought. Why did this happen to me?

Good heavens, was someone being murdered? I peered through the clear barrier to see a female jaguar doing a strange dance. Growing tired of going unnoticed, I chirped loudly. "Do you need help, ma'am?"

Night

I stuck my paw in the water tentatively, stepped in, then sprang out again immediately. No wonder cats don't like to to swim; this fur weighs a ton when it's wet.

A fish swam over. "You!" it declared. I backed up a few steps. I mean, I could get talking mammals, but fish? Call me racist if you want, but that shouldn't work.

I replied cautiously after a moment, "What about me?"

Sorry, Rydia. Took a while to realize you were probably referring to me in your post.

No worries!

Ingot/ Fish

This was a difficult question for Ingot the fish and she swam in a circle, first one way and then the other. "You!" the fish repeated frantically.

"Is that all you know how to say?" The cat scrunched its nose into a bed of wrinkles and cautiously sat down. "You won't get far with one word."

Ingot the fish thought about this and she tried to remember. She knew that there were other words and this cat had a lot of words to give! But when Ingot pursed her lips together and tried again, the word came out: "You?"

The fish could not remember how she had come to be a fish or how she had come to be in the pond, but she did remember there used to be words and she was sad for the loss of them. She looked up at the cat and felt an inexplicable lack of fear. "You," she said softly and she tried to convey to the cat a burning familiarity and a desire to communicate.

Noir/Hyena

What the-? Noir trotted over to the tank and looked up to the fish.

"You!" the fish shouted. He took a quick step back in shock.

"Whoa. Loud fish." He looked over at an otter and walked over to him. "Hi there, otter. What's your name?"

"Do you need help, ma'am?"
Tara swiveled around at the voice, and spotted an otter looking at her curiously. She stared at the otter, and then stumbled backwards, screaming, "You just talked!"
Her eyes grew wide as she said in a pitchy squeal, "And I can talk too!"
