I pull her closer, "You okay?"

I nod, "Just tired."

Ryder

I nod, "Close your eyes for a few minutes. You could go back to your room and you can sleep if you want."

Val

I shake my head, "I'm fine. Don't worry."

Ryder

I nod and sit back, keeping an arm around her.

Val

I sigh and look at him, "What about you? You alright?"

Ryder

I shrug, thinking, "I can't seem to forget... but I'm fine."

Val

I nod and cuddle into him.

Ryder

I flash a smile and wrap my other arm around her.

Val

I close my eyes, yawning.

I close my eyes as well, leaning my head back against the couch.

"why are you actually here?" I ask, "Like...what about your family?"

Ryder

I don't respond right away, "The state of Arizona sent me here. It was my court sentence. My family... I'm a ward of the state, meaning that they don't have any control over me. They mean nothing anymore."

Val

"Aw," I look at him, "That's sad."

Ryder

I look at her, shrugging, "They... It's complicated."
