Jace

"Something like what?" I ask.

Rayah

I shrug, "I don't know that part. Shadows I think."

Jace

I study her before nodding, "I heard him say something about warning us..."

Rayah

I nod, "That too."

Jace

"So is the warning just that those things are coming or something more?" I ask.

Rayah

"the first one," I say, yawning, "But he's nice. He won't hurt us."

Jace

I bite my tongue from arguing with her about the man, nodding along instead of shaking my head like I want to. Twining a hand with hers, I sigh and clear my mind, "L-let's just go home then."

Rayah

I nod and start walking.

Jace

I follow at her side and the look-a-like takes my other flank, staying quiet.

Rayah

The man appears infront of me and I jump. He studies me before putting his hood down, glancing at my shadow before nodding at Jace and the look-alike.

"Have you seen themyet?" He asks.

Jace

I squeeze Rayah's hand when he appears, the look-a-like tensing at my side.

Rayah

I shake my head at his question and move closer to Jace.

He sighs and pulls something out of his pocket, "This was your mom's..." he puts it in my free hand, closing it. I study it, "You know her?"

He hesitates before nodding, "Perhaps you can say that. We were very close a ways back when she was only a teenager."

I nod and put the necklace as a bracelet on, not wanting to replace the necklace Jace gave me, "What will this do?"

"It'll protect you," He says, "Keeps you away from darkness."

Jace

I watch, my stomach in knots again, but say nothing.

Rayah

He dissapears again and I play around with the bracelet.

Jace

I watch Rayah for a few before removing my hand from hers, "I-i'm going to take a walk. Check on the twins and Els for me? They probably are wondering where you are now.."
