Which Genre are You most Comfortable in?

Cynical comedies. It is hard for me to take things seriously, and I have a hard time writing about happy people.

Erotica. And now I wait for criticism.

Dysopia.

Definitely fantasy. Usually set in the modern world, but not always.

Fantasy, realistic, (only it terms with Crime and Punishment.) horror, and yes some of us have been there Erotica. A mix of hetrosexual and homosexual sex in the stories I write.

Ummm.....whatever makes my brain cells sweat less, but basically end up writing lots of emotions in a stream of consciousness style. I feel emotions are easiest to work with, but I love twists and turns and plots that leave you staring blank....

So to classify that....I'll say it's probably hard to name genres when you're not writing very seriously.

Romance. Of course, romance isn't the MAIN theme in all of my writings, but more or less, the other themes/genres usually revolve around romance.

I'm the same way. I don't have one novel that does't have just a little bit of romance in it. If I had to pick another one, I'd say fantasy.

Hmm, well I mostly write fantasy, but lately I've been leaning towards action/adventure and thriller

Historical fiction and science fiction are also favorites of mine, but are tough.

I like reading westerns and mysteries, but I'd probably suck at writing them.

Anyhows. I really don't enjoy the romance, surrealist/relativist, literary, anything with vampires, (supernatural's okay, sometimes) and chic lit/Buffy stuff. Although I've never read any horror, hmm.... (Besides Frankenstien, that is. xD)

Oh yeah, comedy in any genre is a plus.

For some reason I suck at happy endings, despite my peppy attitude. I guess dark fantasy would be mine, because no matter what something bad happens lol x)

I'm most comfortable in fantasy, but it seems like a cop out.

The genre that I try the hardest in is mystery/crime. It kills me because I desperately want to be good at it, but I just can't pull it off. That's when I start trying to write fantasy and I feel lazy.

Mostly becuase you can make up your own research. heh.

Why does that make it a "lazy" genre? It's hard to create realistic worlds and scenarios, and really difficult to avoid using the same old tired cliches. Fantasy (done well) takes a lot of thought, planning, and creativity.

Don't feel embarrassed or anything jimdandy. I like erotica too, and i'm not afraid of ashamed to admit it

I'm comfortable with almost every genre except the non fiction stories, they almost always turn to bore me, but not always. But if I were to pick my top favorites, it would be: sci-fi, action, adventure, horrror, mystery, thriller, and of course romance but just a tiny bit,cause the whole cliche "I would die for you my love" its boring and old;and happily ever after endings shouldn't be sugar coated, they should be something more reachable and real and a bit more painful.
