Nic

I check the clock and sigh, "A little after midnight."

Jackie

I sigh again, "I'm heading to sleep soon."

Nic

I nod and kiss the back of her neck, "Okay."

Jackie

I nod, remembering something, "I actually have to meet up at Olympian court today. For my afterlife things. It's confusing."

Nic

I nod and sit on the bed, letting go of her, "Okay... C-can you do me a favor while you're there? Can you ask about Jace?"

Jackie

"Come," I say, holding my hand out for him, "He'll probrably be there. Rayah told me he went somewhere."

Nic

I take her hand and stand again, "What about Halee?"

Jackie

"Can Alyx babysit her?" I ask, sighing, "I can't be late or they'll get pissed at me."

Nic

I nod and Alyx appears downstairs, checking in on Halee, "Let's go then."

Jackie

I nod, teleporting us to the council in the Underworld. Sure enough Grey Is standing beside his father. Hades. Grey chuckles at me and winks. Gross.

I look away and for Jace, assuming hes not here.

"Jaquin," He addresses me from my full name.

"Jackie," I reply turning to him with a blank expression, "Jackie."

He nods, "Right. So we picked you're after life as an immortal...an vampire, right?"

Oh no...

My thirst kicking up, I swallow and nod, "Yeah."

Nic

I squeeze Jackie's hand, sensing something going on with her, and listen.

I stand in the shadows, arms crossed watching. Jackie...a vampire? God... how long have I been gone? I take a deep breath before making my presence known, nervous now that Nic is here.

Jackie

Hades senses my thirst and sighs, "How old are you?"

"Twenty three," I reply, glancing around.

"Great," He says, standing, "I'm keeping you like this. Feed every cycle."

I nod, looking at the floor, "Yes, sir."

I sense someone in the room and I glance around, my night vision giving advantage. Jace.

Jace

I step into everyone's line of sight and up to face my afterlife. Nic looks hurt by the sight of me, just as nervous as I am.

"Jace Carter..." Hades muses, "Your afterlife..."

I materialize and a sharp pain like no other strikes through my shoulders and eyes. Dropping to my knees, demonic wings sprout from my back and my eyes glaze over a dark purple.

"An incubus," Hades finishes.

What? Fangs poke at my lips and a thirst scratches at my throat before everything disappears and I fall forward, unconscious.

Jackie

Jace? Really?

I swallow, "We need to get him home," I whisper to Nic.

Nic

What did he do to deserve that?

I nod at Jackie and scoop my brother up, staying as silent as possible.
