Logan

I listen to the conversation downstairs, not hearing what Mom said but hearing Dad laugh and disagree.

Riley

I look at mom, "Werent you in one? Isn't that when you guys..."

"UPSTAIRS," She says before I can finish.

I smile at her and shrug, walking upstairs.

Logan

I flash a smile and turn out the light, kicking my shoes off and falling asleep.

Riley

I get in bed and sigh, drifting off.

Luna

It was the next day, the skies were bright with the sun as it was Gym time it was already nineth period. The day had gone by fast and soon enough we were putting our things into our gym lockers and into the gymnasium we went. I searched around for Logan and soon saw Renn and Logan talking together, I stroll over to the two as Logan sees me and flashes me a smile.

"Hey Logan, Hey Renn." I said.

Logan

Already in the gym, I change quick into my uniform and lounge around the court until I find Renn. He walks up to me and we start talking about something I honestly don't think I'm listening to until Luna arrives. I flash a smile and Renn nods politely back at her before looking around.

"Hey, Lu," I greet, "You guys ready for today?"

Renn shakes his head, paler than I remember, and I wonder what's up with him. Before I can ask, coach comes in and we're forced into our squad lines. I look around for my sister or other cousin, wondering who's going to get picked to fight.

Halee

Late to class, I give Faith a piggy-back-ride into the gym. Riley is behind me, scared to death on the fighting part of the class. Still giving Faith a piggy-back-ride, the coach looks at us, "Squad lines. Now."

Chuckling, I let her go and she shrugs, sitting down in the first line as he does attendance. Riley sits behind me, hiding her face from the coach and taking a deep breath.

Luna

I smile as I got into my squad, third from the left in second squad. It's wasn't bad of a posistion. But the elites were in first squad, born fighters who had won every match up until the present. The only way into first squad was to beat your squad leader and then challenge a member of first squad to battle and win. The very back of the platoon was fourth squad, people who have forfieted or lost every single battle they been in. I watched as the couch circled around looking at his clipboard, then marking people down for absent or present.

Logan

I make funny faces when the coach looks away from us, not wanting to be here at all. Ugh. At least let me fight this time. Then I'll get to do something...

Renn

I stand nervously in the very back, already knowing how this goes. Now everyone is going to know. Halee will tell Dad and I'll have to fess up that I'm different. I'm dead.

Halee

Of course Faith was in first squad. She's won every single one. I'm in the same as Logan and Luna, second squad.

Sighing, the coach picks three people from the first squad, and three from the second and three from all the rest, pickin from one of those. Getting picked as one of the three, I stand and cross my arms. Annoyed...Annoyed...Annoyed..

Renn

I'm picked in the three, and then one of the two to fight. Sighing, I close my eyes and look down as they choose my opponent, not caring either way. When i look up, I find it to be a descendant of Ares or something, cracking her fists and coming to face me front and center.

Gods, help me out here, please.

I sigh and clench both my fists, pulling all the darkness I can into me and watching as the room brightens a bit.

Halee

My face palens and Riley lets out a breath of relief. I look at Faith.

Please help.

She shrugs, shaking her head, I can't right now.

I run a hand through my hair and look away, confused as the room brightens.

Luna

Now when I saw Renn standing up to that Ares girl, I instantly thought of two nuclear bombs going off. It was just a question of witch would go off first, the room brightens as I have to squnit my eyes just to see what was going on. I stand by Logan as it was getting so bright that I could barely see anything in front of me.

"What's going on!" I yell to Logan finally closing my eyes.

Renn

I close my own eyes before feeling a fist contact with my jaw. I release all the darkness absorbed and push everyone back from me, standing still in the middle of it all. Dents form in the walls from the energy and the brightness decreases. The girl calls in a few of her buddies and I swallow, glancing back at my cousins and their friends.

Halee

HELL no.

Not hesitating, I grab Riley and Faith's wrists, dragging them in. Logan and Luna join too, and I look at Riley to use her power. She swallows, hesitating before sending poison vines in to try to wrap around they're ankles.
