Luna

After school I take Carly back to my place. I show her around and and explain how a few of the things work. When mom got home we told her what was going on, and of course she said yes. When she saw the fading bruises on her face she wanted to beat the shit of her mom, but I talked her out of it. We all made supper and sat down together to eat, which I could tell was something she'd never done before because of the way she fidgeted with her food. We had all just finished eating and were clearing the table when she said something that shocked all of us.

"So you guys all go relax and I'll get started on the list of chores. What do you want me to do first?" she looked at us.

We all stared at her in shock for a moment, then mom and Lini bust out laughing. I resist the urge to laugh at her confused state. Mom and Lini are just bustin a gut over this.

"Yea," I start slowly. "no. In this house you're responsible for yourself."

"I don't get it." Carly frowns.

Mom and Lini just laugh harder. I sigh. "We don't expect anyone to do out work for us. You wash your own clothes, and clean the dishes you dirty."

"Oh." Carly said.

"I'm sorry honey." mom wipes the tears from her eyes and look at Carly.

"It's fine." she blushes.

"Oh come now," mom wraps an arm around Carly. "stop with all of that blushing and what not. In this house, you look people in the eye when talking and being talked to, you speak loud and clear, and you don't let people push you around."

She nodded but said nothing.

"Your mom needs a good ass whoopin' for what's she's done to you." mom sighs.

Carly was the only one surprised by what she heard. She was at a loss for words I guess. I walked over to the sink and began running water. "I'll do the dishes tonight. Why don't you go take a shower and take a load off for once, Carly?"

"Ok." she bites her lips.

As she begins to exit mom calls her name. She pulls her into a giant hug and shocks Carly. "You're in a place where people care. you're safe."

Mom kisses her on the forehead and heads upstairs.

"You can use my bathroom." I tell her. "It's the first door on your left when you walk upstairs. There are towels and wash cloths in the cabinet by the door when you walk in and since you're room isn't made up you can dress in my room."

"I can make it while she's in the shower." Lini offers.

"Ok," I look up and see Carly still standing in the kitchen. "Why are you just standing there?" I make a shooing motion with my hand. "Go get cleaned up."

Carly leaves the kitchen with this look of something odd on her face.

Lena

I came out of the room after looking through the books of Rose. I saw Ms. Claire looking at me, smiling a little. I beamed back. Being the assistant art teacher of Ms. Claire was more than like a dream come true.

"Well, Lena. I've got to tell you something. I think you might like it." Ms. Claire said. I couldn't wait to hear.

"Shoot." I said, taking my paints and brush.

"Luna came to me about the assistant art teacher position. I told her she could take up the position with you. And anyway, you'd make a great team." she says.

My expression changes and I frown. Oh, great. What is wrong with Luna? Can't she stay out of my way? Oh, my fucking gosh. That bitch really needs one of my judo attacks coming.

"What?! Ms. Claire, how could you do this to me? You're not telling me I have share my position with Luna, are you?" I exclaimed.

"Uh... That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you, Lena. She's just like you. Amazing talent with Art. But not as charming as you. But you guys are equal to me." she said.

Tears trickled down my face. This was one in a life opportunity and she just ruined it. Stealing the position from me.

"You know what, Ms. Claire? Did you ever know that me and Luna were never in our best acquaintance! She's ruined everything!" I said.

I stormed off the room and bumped into Chris. Oh, great. Now Chris will think I'm a cry baby. How awesome.

"Lena," he said, stammering a little. "Sorry about that. Are you okay?"

I looked up the ceiling to stop myself from crying. But I couldn't. Luna had just stole my dream. I looked back at him, clearing my throat.

"Listen, I just want to apologize for yelling at you about Luna," pronounced Chris. "I was a little insensitive, I wanted to say I'm sorry."

I nod, closing my eyes. I'm not able to get my mind straight. I bite my lip nervously.
"I understand."

And then he starts off with the Luna talk which is annoying me really badly. "She isn't all that bad-"

I cut him off before he can say anything. "No, she is." I shoot back, frowning back at him. "She stole my job as art assistant."

"Oh my god, I'm sorry Lena."

"Yeah. She really isn't as nice as she pretended to be." I gave a small smile.

He looked at his phone and texted someone. I continued.
"Well, I guess she got her wish. Messing my life. Anyway, I got to go. Bye."

Chris looked back at me, wanting to say something but didn't. "Okay. Lena, I'm sorry again."

I nod, and walk past him. I go to washroom and see Luna by surprise. She looks at me, and I quickly wipe my tears off. I wash my face without talking to she stops. Of course, I heard Josie and Luna talking about me and how Luna lied that she didn't steal my position. She thinks I'm lying. Well, we'll see about that.

"Luna, do you really think I'm a bitch like you?" I asked, turning to her.

She opened her mouth to speak but I didn't want to hear it. "Fuck you, then because you don't have a life. Stealing up other's position isn't how you get your things right. Well, you still don't have your facts right." I snapped at her.

"What? I didn't steal any position of your's! I was up for it and I asked Ms. Claire and she said fine. Trust me, if I knew you were up for the job, I wouldn't have bothered. But now I have to work with you." she said, rolling her eyes.

"You know what? You can be my assistant art model. How about that?" I said, making suggestions so she would leave my position.

"No. No way. I pose for them and let them draw me? I think that would very much go for you." she smirked.

"I think Luna can be up for the assistant teacher and Lena as the one responsible for the associations held up, charity work and teach children in other campaigns. How's that?" A voice came from behind us.

We turned to look. It was Ms. Claire. My eyes-widen. That was better than assistant teacher position! Oh my god!

"Ms. Claire? Are you serious?" I ask her.

"Well, I think Luna had hardly the time to set up and teach campaigns with all the work she has. But you do. Lena, you are a magnificent artist. Luna, you are too. What do you both think? No need to fight over it, now."

Luna and I looked at each other, and for the first time we agreed. We smiled. Woah.

"I think you're right there, Ms. Claire. With all my other martial arts, I don't think I will have time to come up and teach other than in school. Lena, you can take up the job." Luna said, gritting her teeth.

"Thanks. Thanks so much!" I said, and left the washroom with happiness floating over me.

It was like three o'clock when Chris and Avery came into my room. Ave left home to get some sleep, that's why she wasn't here.

"I asked Chris to give me a ride. Lena is having a tough..." Avery was about to finish her sentence but then Lena stepped through the door with a book.

"Will! I got you something." Lena came up to my bed.

The book had candy prints all over it. I really want something sweet. That'd be nice, like chocolate or Skittles. Mmmmm.

"What is it?"

She handed me the book and I opened it. Pictures of Avery, Chris, Lena, and I were in it. All the way back to Elementary school. Little notes we passed around during class were in it, postcards, even receipts from dinners.

"Man, this is... amazing Lena." I smiled, feeling a little chocked up.

"Where'd you get everything?"

"Oh, it was nothing. The things were easy to find with their help." She looked at Chris for a split second.

Jesus, I need to ask Chris what's going on between them. I can't handle this anymore.

"It was nothing?" I looked at Lena. "This is nothing to you? It's amazing! This is our friendship in one book. Hard to captivate all those memories like that."

She started to blush a soft pink as she looked at the ground.

"Can I see it?" Avery asked from behind Lena. I handed her the book and she took it in her hands like it was sacred.

"You did an amazing job," Chris said.

He was looking at her but she didn't bother to mover her head. "Thanks," she smiled anyway.

"Why don't you and Lena go grab something to eat? I gotta talk to Chris." I asked Avery.

Looking up from the book, I saw tears round her eyes. "Don't worry," she wiped them. "They're from happiness. And yeah, sure Willy." she smiled her perfect smile. Before she could move, she gave me a soft kiss.

"We'll be back in ten.Long enough?" she whispered.

All I did is nod and they were gone. Chris shut the door as I sat up in this uncomfortable bed. This is why I hated hospitals. So not... homey I guess. It was stuffy and lonely.

"What's going on" Chris asked, pacing a bit through the room. His phone was in his hand, as if he were expecting a call.

"I should be asking you that question,"

He stopped and turned to me. You could smell the guilt from here.

"Lena? Does that ring a bell?" I sounded too harsh, but I had to get something out of him.

Looking up at the ceiling, he took a few deep breaths.

"I told you everything Will. She just doesn't want me and neither does Josie. They both want to set me up with each other." He looked back at me.

"Fix it. Lena is hurt. And I know it's about the Luna thing and you. Ave told me. But it started with you. You have to figure out who to choose. You don't end up like that! Ignoring one another-" he cut me off.

"We aren't ignoring each other! We are talking!"

Taking a deep breathe, I went on. "No. I know that. But you guys were best friends. And even if you tell someone, "I don't feel the same way" you guys are still good friends. What happened?"

His phone flashed and he started to type on it.

"Chris,"

Looking up, he slid his phone into his pockets and strolled to my bedside. He sat on one of the chairs and decided to listen.

"I care about you and Lena a lot. You're family. So tell me what's going on in your head."

Back for another day of school. Uh. Third period: Art with Ms. Claire. I loved this class, simple and enjoyable.

I was able to go to school today because my mother took me to the doctor yesterday. He said I had a panic attack and that I need to see a psychologist. Wonderful. No wonder I though I was crazy.

"Okay class. Take out your sketchbooks!" she said with a smile.

She was happy but not too happy. The right amount of, well, happiness.

Pulling out my sketchbook from my backpack, I lied it down on the desk. I had a pencil at hand, ready for some drawings.

"Bell Ringer is..." she went to the wipe board and started to write Penguin's Dancing.

"Go!"

We all started to draw, our heads bowed into the book and concentrated on perfection. I believe that Ms. Claire was a perfectionist, one line too far and you get an automatic F.

But all I could think about was Emmett. After I told him I was a drunk, I jumped out of the car. I was too scared to see his reaction. I should have known better not to tell him. Now the whole school will know.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I pulled it out. Drake, again.

Ditch Harmony. Come meet me at Jefferson. ;)

Oh why the hell not? I texted him back Okay, be there in five and slid the phone into my pocket. I put away my art supplies and headed toward the teacher.

"Ms. Claire... I don't feel too good, can I go to the nurse?" I pretended to act sick.

"You don't look too good either. Go, go."

And that's how I landed in the Jefferson High School parking lot, making out with none other that Drake Ferguson.

Taking a breath, I pushed away from him a bit.

"We have got to slow down." I was breathing heavily.

"Why?" he stroked my hair. I loved it when he did that.

My answer in my head was Emmett. I can't kiss you because of Emmett. I've developed feelings for him. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!

I looked away, staring into the horizon. The sun was still up, since it was only noon.

"Drake, I love this." he kiss my neck. "But, I ca- Drake!" Pushing his away, I felt pain run through my neck. A hickey. Thank you flirt-a-lot.

His face was red and he was barely breathing. The perfect blonde hair I've always feel for was messed up on the top of his head. I could see his muscles through his white sleeveless. He was hot, but I didn't feel it anymore.

"Come on Jumper. What's wrong? You've never been like this." he looked disappointed.

"I can't alright." I got out of his car, feeling the cold air surround me. God was that car hot.

He had an old BMW his parents got for his sixteenth birthday. Silver coating and black leather interior. Nice hit.

A hand grabbed my arm and I noticed it was Drake. "Please don't go Jumper. I really love this." he smirked, kissing my temple. He was five eleven, much taller than me. I felt like a smurf around him.

"I can't," I shut my eyes.

He just kept kissing me. My lips, my neck, my cheeks. Anything his lips can reach. I didn't like it one bit.

"Stop!" I yelled, pushing his away as hard as I could.

"Come on, you know you want to." he smiled, pulling me. He had a good grip that motherfucker.

I trued with all my might too pull away. I was scared, my heart racing. I felt like I was going to faint again. My breath got caught in my throat as I begged. Tears stung mu eyes.

"Please," I took a breath. "Stop,"

"Leave her alone you sick bastard!" I heard someone yell.

I took a deep breath. I needed to control my anger.

"I just like her so much," I blurted. "When I look at her, my heart stops beating and I have trouble breathing and all I want to do is fucking kiss her, but I screwed that up. And then I yelled at her because she thought Luna was flirting with us and we had been getting along better just before that. And I've apologised but I don't know whether to leave her alone or chase after her, because either way it seems like the wrong thing to do."

I had to take another deep breath at the end; everything had come out in a rush. Will just stared at me for a moment and I wasn't sure if he was just thinking or if he hadn't caught any of that.

"Wow," he said quietly. "You've never been this into a girl."

I shook my head, staring at the ground. I really wanted to hit something.

"Just tell her. She needs you to reassure her," he said calmly.

"You're right. But I just don't know how to say that. When I open my mouth around her, I don't know how to speak," I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Get her alone. Plan what you're going to say to her and say it."

I nodded. "Yeah."

"No more songs. No texts. No phone calls or notes or poems or whatever else you could use," Will cracked a smile. "Just talk to her and she'll listen. It's what I did with Ave. It works."

"Okay, I think I can do that," I sighed. "It's just hard to think of what to say. When I look at her, I forget everything, ya know?"

Will nodded. "I was in the same place as you. Avery still gives me butterflies! But just take a deep breath and talk slowly, okay?"

"Okay."

There was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in," Will called.

Lena and Avery walked in the room with sandwiches.

"If you guys want any, they're in the cafeteria," Lena said, taking a bite. "We can grab you one if you want, Will."

I looked over at Will, who gave a small nod towards Lena.

"Actually Lena, I have something to talk to you about," I said, walking towards the door.

"Um, sure."

She handed her sandwich to Avery, brushing the crumbs off her hands as she walked out the door. I shut it softly behind her and closed my eyes, breathing deeply before I turned to face her. She looked up at me, confusion in her big brown eyes. Just looking in her eyes was enough to make me melt... Focus Chris, I told myself.

"So, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about defending Luna so much," I started slowly. "You're my friend, and even if I didn't agree with what you said, I should've listened and I definitely shouldn't have yelled at you. I think I just felt very grateful towards her and I got angry when you said she had other motives."

"It's okay, Chris-"

"I'm not done," I interrupted. I took a deep breath. "I really like you. You're smart and bold and beautiful and artsy. When I look at you, I get tongue-tied and confused. I liked you back in eighth grade, but you were too pretty for a guy like me. Then I joined swim team, got contacts, and became more popular, but we'd started to drift apart. I got excited when I realised you may have the same feelings for me, and I fell for you all over again. I hate that I screwed it up, but I wanted to let you know how I feel."

Silence. The whole truth was out. Oh God, did I do the right thing?

The meal was nice. At home dinner consisted of mother, father and my siblings eating a home cooked meal together in the dining room and I would make myself something small and quick that I could eat while doing chores, on the nights I could eat that was. Sometimes I would have extra chores so I wouldn't have time to eat. When I ask about my chores here they are shocked. They tell me that everyone cleans up after themself. It's a new concept, but it sounds wonderful. Her mom and sister are laughing, then her mom apologizes. I feel myself blush, no one's ever apologized for laughing at me before, then again, no one has ever apologized to me for anything before. Her mom puts an arm around my shoulder. "stop with all of that blushing and what not. In this house, you look people in the eye when talking and being talked to, you speak loud and clear, and you don't let people push you around." she says. I nod, unsure of how to respond. "Your mom needs a good ass whoopin' for what's she's done to you." her mom sighs. I'm a bit surprised that she actually cares.

Luna offers to do the dishes so I can take a shower and just relax for once. That's really sweet. I wish I could thank her in some way. I go to exit the room but her mom comes over and gives me a hug. "You're in a place where people care. You're safe." she kisses my forehead. I haven't been hugged or kissed by anyone who isn't Matt in yeears. I had almost forgotten what it felt like. Really I don't know what to say. They're all so nice. I go and take a shower and it feels nice to not have to worry about if I'll get everything done in a time that suits mother, or how badly she'll beat me for taking a quick break. It's nice here. I get changed and go to the guest room. I honestly don't know what I want to do. I go into the family room and sit beside Luna on the sofa. "So what time do we get up, normally I'm up by 3:30, but if you want I can get up earlier?" I ask. She stares at me in disbelief.

Chris likes me. Like, really likes me and the way he told me today evening, was more than I could ask for. I mean, he even liked me in eighth grade but I was so stupid to not know! He even apologized for the way he reacted with me about Luna. But I had to tell him the the truth too. That maybe Luna wasn't that bad after all and all his opinions about Luna might be right.

There was an awkward silence, but I cracked a smile. He smiled back at me too. Him, storing me with his gentle smiles were enough for me to forgive him.

"Chris..." I start, slowly. "It's okay. Really. And about Luna. I think I was wrong about her and her intentions. Maybe it was because of all the madness that was happening between us and I was scared that she might take you away from me." I said, tears trickling down my eyes but I wiped them off.

"I'm so stupid to be crying now." I said, and grinned nervously. "And about Luna stealing my assistant art position, Ms. Claire found a way out. She said I could teach other people, people outside school. Ms. Claire has some associations and campaigns set up and I could teach them while Luna could teach in school. That's way better!"

He gritted his teeth, happy for me. "That's great, Lena. I was worried for you too about the art position but its great you found a way out!" he exclaimed.

"I know!" I said, laughing. Oh my god. Talking to him was so much better than keeping things to myself and being sick every night.

There was a small silence and he stepped a little closer to me. I looked at him, intently.

"Lena..." he said, with a small smile. "I love you."

With that, he put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer, and our lips locked. His soft kiss. His lovely kiss was the world to me. I was happy to be back, pressed against his strong body. My hands were around his neck, and he played with my hair. We kissed for a while, and pulled back.

"I love you too, Chris." I said, in a small voice and kissed again.

What is Allen going to do? He's not in the story anymore, again. Is it okay if I delete his character because I don't think he's much of a use now. Unless... I have an idea.

I had a study hall second period, so I had gone to get some coffee. With a ton of extra time and nothing to do at school, I decided to just drive around town. I parked in the Jefferson High parking lot, took out my phone, and scrolled through the Rockets' schedule as I sipped my coffee. I hadn't gotten to a game in a while...and besides, it would probably be a good way to ease the remaining tension with Chris. I figured I could invite the whole group--Chris, Lena, Ave, Will. It would probably be good for us. I scrolled down to the end of September. Maybe Will would be out of the hospital by then--that would be a good welcome-back treat.

A few parking spots down, a short girl jumped out of another car, followed by a much taller guy. She tried to walk away, but he grabbed her arms and kissed her, his grip so tight that his knuckles were turning white.

Reflexively, I jumped out of my car and ran over. I didn't care if she was the kid I'd nearly punched a few days ago; that didn't matter now. "Leave her alone, you sick bastard!" I snapped.

The guy started to turn around, but he wasn't fast enough. I grabbed a fistful of his hair and twisted hard, bending him over backward. "Who the hell do you think you are?" I growled. "If she says no, she means it! If I ever see you touch her again, I will beat the tar out of you! Understand?!" I let go of his hair, and he lost his balance and hit the pavement hard.

"Hey," I said, turning to Jane. "You okay?"

Kissing her was heaven. Everything felt right as she leaned into the kiss and I pulled her close. I gently wound my fingers in her hair and we kissed for a while. It was amazing.

"I love you too Chris," she smiled.

God I loved her smile. I pulled her in again for another kiss, this one short and sweet.

"So what are we?" I asked coyly, wrapping my arms around her waist.

She blushed and buried her head in my chest. "I don't know..."

"How about this, we go on a date on Saturday, and if you're not tired of me by then," she chuckled a bit, "then we'll be official."

She looked in my eyes and nodded. "Good idea."

I hugged her tightly, kissing her gently on the cheek. "I've always wanted to be with you. I never thought it would happen."

She just laughed and held me close. We walked back into the room, holding hands. Avery was in bed with Will, feeding him part of her sandwich. She perked up as we walked in.

"So, what happened?" Avery asked excitedly.

"It's all good, and we have a date on Saturday," Lena blushed.

Avery let out a squeal and ran over to hug her and Will have me a thumbs up.

"We can go on dates, and have movie nights, and go to Homecoming together!" she squealed. "It'll be just like the old days but better, because we're all together!"

I smiled and looked down at Lena. Yupp, definitely better than the old days.

I was chilling in the living room when Carly came downstairs in a comfy pair of pajamas and sat down next to me. "So what time do we get up, normally I'm up by 3:30, but if you want I can get up earlier?"

I look at her this time and can't help but laugh. "Dude we get up between the times 6-7:30. Except for me, I'm usually out practicing or doing yoga, but other than that, we don't get up that early, so take a load off."

"Ok." she nods.

"I'm going to bed." I toss her the remote. "Do what ever, just be quiet about it, and good night."

"Good night!!" she calls as I bound up the stairs and into my room.

***********

Lena had come up to me and confronted me on stealing her position, like I really give a damn. She was too far up her ass to realize how much of a bitch she was being. She thought she could take me in a fight? I'm faster, stronger, and meaner than her. She couldn't take me in her dreams.

"I think Luna can be up for the assistant teacher and Lena as the one responsible for the associations held up, charity work and teach children in other campaigns. How's that?" A voice came from behind us.

"Ms. Claire? Are you serious?" Lean asks her.

"Well, I think Luna had hardly the time to set up and teach campaigns with all the work she has. But you do. Lena, you are a magnificent artist. Luna, you are too. What do you both think? No need to fight over it, now."

We look at each other."I think you're right there, Ms. Claire. With all my other martial arts, I don't think I will have time to come up and teach other than in school. Lena, you can take up the job." I say with an easy shrug. I don't want either position, so it doesn't matter to me.

"Thanks. Thanks so much!" she said, and left the washroom with happiness floating over her.

Lena just got some kind of position better than the teacher assistant one, so I end up getting that one.But I don't really care. The only reason I did this was to fuck with Lena, and mission accomplished. I look at Ms. Claire.

"Ms. Claire, I don't think i'm right for the position, but my sister would love the position." I tuck a stray lock of hair behind my ear.

"Aw," she frowns. "but I was really hoping you would do this."

"Sorry, I just don't think it's the right thing for me." I shrug.

She sighs. "Very well. Anyways, your sister is also a very talented spirit herself."

I smile. "That she is."

Luna tells me they get up between six and7:30. After she heads up, I turn the TV off and go to bed. The bed in the guest room is so comfortable, much better than the lumpy, old one at home. Gor once I actually get some sleep.

I open my eyes and look at the clock, 5:30. Not much use going back to sleep. I remember Luna telling me last night that she'll do yoga in the mornings, I bet she didn't kknow that was the one stress relief I would get in before everyone else was up. I grab my yoga mat and head downstairs to find her just setting hers up. "You do yoga?" she asks quietly, not to wake anyone. "Yeah." I whisper, laying out my mat. We spend a little over an hour doing yoga, then I go back upstairs to take a quick shower. I pull on some black jeans and a plain purple T-shirt.

When I go back downstairs, everyone is eating breakfast. "Would you like some waffles?" her mom calls. "Really!?" I ask, I can't help but smile. "You guys eat breakfast together to!?" They nod and sort of laugh. 'We neer ate together," I say, I can't stop the tears from falling. "Well, they always did, but not with me. I never normally even ate breakfast and was lucky if I had dinner. But I always had lunch, Lauren and Matt made sure of it." I wipe my tears and sort of laugh myself. "But I guess that's behind me now. Thanks for everything." I say grabbing a waffle. I pour a little syrup on it and cut off a bite. It tastes amazing. After we eat we all clean up. Luna, Lini, and I head to school in Luna's car.

When we get to school I meet up with Matt, Lauren's home sick today. He welcomes me by grabbing my waist and pulling me in for a kiss. "Hey babe." he says when we finally pull apart, "How wwas it last night?" I tell him about everything. "I'm glad you like it there, but I'm happier that you're safe now." he says, kissing the top of my head. We head to theatre class and I actually have a smile on my face. When second period, chorus, rolls around I remember that I left my sheet music in Luna's car. I see her in the hall and ask for her keys. I tell her I forgot my sheet music. She laughs and hands them over, "Give them to me at lunch." she says heading to class. I nod and head for the parking lot, telling Matt I'll be in class in a minute, sending him without me. I head to the parking lot and unlock Luna's car. I shove her keys in my pocket.

I look over at the red SUV next to her car that wasn't there this morning. A guy, probably a sophmore or junior gets out and approaches me. I can tell by the uniform that he goes to the private school. "What are you doing out here all alone?" he asks with a smirk. He holds me against his car, then shoves me in the back seat. He locks it, with a child lock, so I can't escape. He slips in and grabs me by my hair. Oh crap!

He forces me to make-out with him. Then he starts kissing my neck. I know it would only make it worse to object, so I obey his every command. He takes his shirt off. He continues making out with me. He goes back to kissing my neck when I see Matt outside. I still can't escape as my attacker gets out and easily knocks Matt out. He lays still in the parking lot. My attacker comes back in and kisses my neck some more. "Please let me go." I beg, I've been crying for a while. He laughs and climbs in the front seat, driving off. I scream for help, but no one can hear me, and no one comes. I cry harder as we pull out of the parking lot.

After we've been in class a while and Carly still hasn't shown up, I ask to go to the nurse. Telling the teacher I am feeling sick to my stomach, she lets me go. I don't go to the nurse, but searching for Carly. I don't find her in the building. I head to the parkinglot and go to the car that based on Carly's description is Luna's. Her car keys are on the ground. I put them in my pocket. I hear a bang from the car next to me, like someone hit the door. I look in and find a shirtless guy on top of Carly, kissing her neck. He sees me and slips out of the car. Carly still can't escape, it must have a child lock. I punch him in the face, but he swings at me, and I black out, hitting the pavement while staring up at Carly's pleading eyes.

Sorry, Homecoming weekend. Emmett really needs some relationships with someone other then Jane, doesn't he? :p

Emmett

My thoughts are consumed. Not by what they should be consumed by, things like Physics and my sister's preganancy.

Consumed by Jane.

Not even her words; of course those, a bit. More than that, though. It was... almost infatuation. A crush! What the heck was I doing having a crush? I had better things to think about than to be... to be thinking about a girl like Jane.

I hadn't seen her all day. I wonder if she even came to school. She seemed so nervous after admitting her secret to me the other day, just jumping out of the car like that. It almost had me worried...worried? Why was I worried? Jane could do her own thing. She's a smart girl, and certainly doesn't need your thoughts all up in her life!

Thoughts straight, Emmett. Thoughts straight. Physics. Biology. Good colleges. I park my car, grabbing the sub I had driven across the town to go get. It didn't taste nearly as good as I'd hoped. Seriously. This was what I'd been fantasing about all Morning? I must really be getting desperate. Or hungry. Really, really hungry. Or really, really desperate. Either way.

I hear a screech and drop my sub, suprised. My first instinct is Lacey, than Jane. I climb out of the car to see a guy hit the cement, an out-of-breathe private schooler look rather proud of himself. I don't recongnize the guy, but he's on the smaller side like he's not fully developed yet. Freshmen.

"Hey dude." I call out to the private schooler. "Got a probem over there?"

The guy's eyes lock on me, and he moves in front of his car. Way to be inconspicuous, idiot. "Nothing than concerns you, Mexican."

Ouch. This one was sure clever, wasn't he? "I know I don't care, but I think Mr. Holland might when he comes back from Subway."

The guy- who obviously didn't know that calling Emmett Lopez a 'Mexican' was one of the worst things you could do- spit on the ground and muttered something like 'got what I wanted out of heer anyway.' He opened the door, and a girl- also unrecongnizable- came tumbling out. Her skin wasn't dark enough to be Lacey's, and her hair wasn't long enough to be Jane's. Thank Goodness. The jerk climbed into the car and left.

I shut off my car before walking over to the girl. She's hanging over the boy, whispering 'My God' over and over again. "Need some help?" I ask.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

I remember that I left homework in the car and run to catch Carly in the parking lot when I see Matt lying on the ground. "Matt? Are you ok?"

"They took her!!" he screams going ballistic. "They took Carly!"

"Who?" I grab my keys and head for the driver's side door. "What did the car look like?"

"It was a black SUV with spinners and chrome fixings. It took off towards the park" Matt pulls at his hair. "How could I be so stupid!?"

"Matt calm down. I'll find Carly," I turn on the engine and close the door. " and call the police !"

I burn out of the parking lot and head towards to park looking for the black SUV. I see one parked on the side of the road and hop out. I run towards the car and yank the trunk door open to find some guys trying to rip the clothes off of Carly. She's putting up one hell of a fight too, but it looks like she's losing. As light from the sun shines in, the man turns to see who it is.

"Why don't you mess with me?" I dare. "And see who comes out on top?"

He reaches for me and I drag him out of the car by his hair. His face hit the pavement with a loud thud and I smile darkly. "What's wrong? Can't handle girls who can fight for themselves?"

"You bitch!" he lunges for me.

I kick him in the face. He goes down hard again. "Get up, pussy!"

I kick him again. "What? You can't handle what you dish out?"

Kick. "Not fun anymore is it?'

Kick. "When you're rutting away a little girl who's nothing to deserve this? This is what it feel like!"

Kick. Kick. Kick. "Not so fun, huh?"

The whole time he's just laying there, trying to block my blows. When he stops moving I turn him over on his back and spread his legs. My foot comes down on his crotch and I pull my full weight on it until I hear him scream. I stomp Once, then again. "I wanna make sure you can never use this again!"

I put all of my weight on the foot and lean down to look him in the eyes. "Like the way this feels? I certainly do."

I pull my foot off and kick him in the face. He's out like a light. I take a deep breath and head towards Carly. Her hair is in complete disarray and her shirts in tatters. Her chest and stomach have red marks on them from where that ass hole ripped at her shirt. There were bruises along her throat and stomach and one mean looking red spot on her left cheek. I sit down beside and turn her face towards mine. "Did he hurt you?"

She shakes her head numbly. I sigh in relief. At least he hadn't gotten that far. I pull her into my lap and hold her. She buries her face in my neck and begins to cry as her body trembles. "Shhh," I rub her back.

Police siren sound in the background. I pull off the shirt i'm wearing and put it on her. I have a Danskin zip up sports bra on under it, so i'm not bothered by being shirtless. Carly pull away and wipes her eyes. I touch her shoulder.

"You need to learn how to fight." I tell her.

"I know." she nods. "I know."
"What is dead my never die, but rises again, larger and stronger..."

Carly Froyd

As we go to leave the parking lot, a guy who I've heard people call Emmett, must have seen what happened. He stops the car and my attacker gets out. This time I manage to slip out as well. I kneel oer Matt while they fight. "Oh god." I keep repeating, not sure how to help him. Emmett comes over. "Need help?" I look up at him with desperate, sorrowful eyes. He goes to give me a hand when my attacker comes back. He hits Emmett pretty hard and pulls me back into the car. Once again we drive off, Emmett tries to chase after us, but doesn't make it very far before he's out of view.

We pull into the park, which is empty during school hours. He climbs into the backseat and tries to get my shirt off. Now is the time to fight. He scratches me up and bruises me until my shirt is shredded. He then tries to get my bra off me, I put up a fight, but that doesn't last very long.He gets it off and feels up my chest. He kisses me and puts his hands all over my body. He is on top of me now. Luna opens up the car and I pull my bra and the shreds of my shirt back on as she drags the guy outside. I curl up in a ball and sob while she takes care of him. The police show up and Luna sits beside me, pulling me into her lap. I sob while she asks if he hurt me. I shake my head, I mean, he kind of did, but nothing serious. "You need to learn how to fight." she says. "I know," I nod, "I know."

Somehow after being attacked by Luna, the nameless attacker is able to get back up and make his way over to us. He shoves Luna aside and grabs me once more. He pulls me close to him and grabs a pocketknife while the poolice watch. He holds it to my throat. I took a basic self-defense class back in New York, this I can ahndle. I escape his hold and run towards the cops. He tosses the knife and hits me right between my shoulder and my chest. I fall to the ground. I'm bleeding a lot and fast to. The cops finally get him and I am loaded into an ambulance. Everything is spinning, but I notice Luna climbs in and sits beside me on the way to the hospital. I black out before we even get there.

Oh my god. I loved him so much than before. I was going to go on a date with him on Saturday. So. Romantic. And I promised myself from then on, that I won't hurt him in any other way or ever scream at him again.

We entered the room and I told Avery about how we were back together. Avery squealed and gave me a huge hug. I returned it, smiling wide. I looked at Chris again who grinned.

"We can go on dates, and have movie nights, and go to Homecoming together!" she squealed. "It'll be just like the old days but better, because we're all together!" Avery exclaimed and I laughed.

We all decided to stay a little longer with Will. After all, he needed us and I could see Avery and Will's love between them. They were mean't for each other. Sometimes, they would look at each other so intently, either Will or Avery would drop in a kiss. They must have passed 5 of them! Sometimes, Chris cleared his throat that Will said, "Oh, now don't tell me you both didn't kiss when you were clearing your misunderstandings, right?"

And I would soon turn red and look at Chris again, flashing a smile. Finally, when it was 12.30 AM, after all the laughing and everything, Will spoke.

"I think you guys should go home. You should get some rest." he said, motioning his hands through Avery's hair.

"No! I want to stay with you. Right here." Avery said, sitting beside him.

"But you've been here for a long time, your eyelids so heavy. Please go home. For me." Will pleaded.

"No, Will. We're staying here, right next to you." Chris said, sitting beside me. I grabbed his arm and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Chris, well... At least let the girls get some rest. We boys can manage, can't we? And I'm kind of feeling sleepy now. But I still prefer you guys to go home." said Will.

"No, Willy. I'm staying here. Until you're out of this hospital." Avery said.

"Okay. But you need to sleep. I'm about to rest now." Will pronounced, sighing deeply, closing his eyes.

"Yeah, I think we all should get some sleep." I said, yawning a little.

"Fine..." Avery said, and dragged a chair next to Will when he said something really surprising that would have send Avery to bunch of spring flowers.

"Why-Why don't you sleep here? Right next to me?" Will says, making space and patting the space given.

"Will, don't move yourself too much!" Avery squeaked.

"I'm fine, really." Will smiled. "Come on, babe."

Avery gave a small smile, and lied beside him. I smiled at Chris who seems to be thinking of the very same thing. The perfect couple. Chris put his arms around me, making my head rest on his chest now. I had my hands on them, and it was just so warm. His head was above mine, and within no time, all of us were wild asleep.

x--x (Next morning - Friday)

I opened my eyes first to see everyone sleeping. I checked the clock. 9.30 AM. I guess now we can't reach school because we were all late but I didn't want to go. I was taking a leave. Chris had his head above and I rose up, not disturbing him. I put his head gently back against the wall, and walked out to get some coffee. Wiping my eyes, I made my way to the washroom first. I washed my face, and then went into the cafeteria.

There were lots of people with drinking and eating. I walked to the counter to be treated with a warm welcome.

"Good morning, Ma'am!" a girl who works there, said enthusiastically. "May I help you?"

"Hi. Yes, can I get 4 coffee's, please? And do make it fast." I said. Man, I needed coffee!

"Sure thing!" she said, and ran to get it. She was back in 6 minutes, and I carried it all up the stairs to the room again. They were all still asleep. I placed the tray on the table. Avery woke up, wiping her eyes.

"Mornin', love." she said, yawning.

"Morning." I said, beaming. The boys were still asleep. I lead her, her coffee.

"Thanks. When did you wake up?" she asked.

"Ten minutes before." I said. "I'm missing school today."

"I miss school everyday!" Avery proclaimed.

Chris woke up, yawning. He looked at us, and his eyebrows shot up. He widened his eyes to refresh himself. He went to the tap and gave a little splash to his face and came up.

"Ladies up so fast?" he asked, grinning.

"Of course." I said, handing him over his coffee.

There was yet again a knock on the door and the doctor came in, with a warm smile on his face.

"Good morning, fellow good men." he said, and looked at us. "And ladies."

Avery and I chuckled.

"Mornin' doc. What brings you here?" Chris asked, finishing his coffee.

"Good news. Will has been doing great and he's now ready to be taken back home. He can be discharged today." he said.

"That's great!" Avery exclaimed, making Will wake up. She clasped her hand to her mouth. "I'm so sorry."

"Hey, it's okay..." Will said, sitting up, smiling at the doctor as he walked up to him, placing a hand on his leg.
