Mount Olympus

Jace

I run home and reveal the portal, dropping a drachma in before following it down. When the colors stop swirling around me, I'm in the middle of Nic's living room again. Alyx has been moved, the couch barren.

Nic comes out of one of the rooms and flashes a smile at me before reading my expression.

"Oh god...What did you do this time?" he whispers, leading me into the kitchen.

I hesitate before telling him about Rayah and allowing myself to finally finish freaking out about the situation.

Rayah

After eating...almost everything in my kitchen, I sigh and drink a whole bottle of orange juice. I plop on the couch and turn on the T.V, taking a deep breath.

Jace

"You really like complicating your life, don't you, Ja?" Nic suppresses a smile, narrowing his eyes at the faded black ring around my left eye.

I turn away from him and take my head in my hands.

"Well..her father knows...that wasn't so horrible," I sigh, "But...god, I screwed up her whole life. She got accepted into the college she wanted to go to the other night. Couldn't stop jumping for joy. Now...she can't go. What kind of guy does that make me?"

"I don't think you want me answering that question..." Nic whispers, "It wouldn't end well for you."

Rayah

I think of something to do, turning the channel to CSI. I chuckle at the person getting shot, and falling off the building. Then I feel it again. I run to the bathroom and double over. Ugh. That's not pretty... I told myself, taking another deep breath.

Jace

I glare at Nic before Alyx walks in. He flashes a smile at me and sits on the other side of Nic, not looking so sickly anymore.

"Can't change the past, Jay," he whispers, "Only make the best of a future."

Rayah

I think of something, leaving a note for Jace before walking to the battlefeild.

Jace,

I went to the battlefeild. Have to think. I don't know why, but things aren't really turning out how I wanted them to. Don't worry about me, I'll try to be back before nightfall. I won't be long. Or maybe I will. Who knows. Anyways, if you need me, you know where I am.

I leave the paper on the counter in the kitchen and walk out with my jacket, humming a song.

Jace

I don't respond to Alyx, not sure how I could after so long thinking he was dead.

"You should go now, Ja," Nic hits my arm playfully, "You don't want your father getting word of your escape again."

"Father?" Alyx asks.

"Oh sh*t..." Nic swears.

We both look at the oldest, each trying to find a way to explain.

"He's a demigod," Nic points to me, "Which...I have no clue what that makes you, Casper."

Rayah

I walk into the battlefeild and sit against a rock, playing with the grass as I do.

Everything happens for a reason...

Jace

Alyx says nothing for a few moments, confused.

"Jay, I think it's time for you to leave," he finally speaks, "You...confuse me. Come back tomorrow, maybe."

He stands and walks out in a daze. I shake my head and look at Nic. What the hell?

"Get going, portal jumper," Nic claps my shoulder and stands, leaving the room.

I hesitate before jumping back into Olympus and heading to Rayah's house again.

Rayah

I keep thinking about how this will turn out.

What if he leaves Me? Will we raise the kid? Does this mean I can't... I shake my head out and take a deep breath, yanking the grass out of the ground.

Jace

I find the note on the counter and head out to the battlefield before thinking that she might want to be alone. Remembering what I said though, I keep going and find her pulling out grass. Without a word, I sit across from her and take a deep breath.

Rayah

Jace sits across from me and I flash a halfhearted smile. "Hey."

Jace

I flash a smile back, "Hey. How you doing?"

Rayah

I shrug. "...Ate almost everything in the kitchen..." I sighed, chuckling.

Jace

I smile and shake my head at her, "Wow."
