Rayah

I close my eyes, feeling my powers act up again, and find it harder to breathe. The nurse looks at Jace, "She can't be stressed. That's probably what's causing it. Too much to handle isn't good for her."

I take deep breaths, huge ones, and the nurse looks over at me, "Rayah? You alright?"

I nod, "Um...Yeah, It's just...kind of hard to breathe right now..."

Jace

I swallow and watch.

Guess you need a vacation now, huh, Ray?

Rayah

The nurse tells me to calm down and try to fall asleep, saying that'll help me relax. I nod and close my eyes.

The nurse looks at Jace, "What do you think might be causing the stress?"

Jace

I think back at our talk in the battlefield, "School...the whole pregnancy thing...Life in general."

Rayah

She nods, "I see. Well, find a way to get rid of it," she looks at me and I open my eyes.

"You can go now, the numbing helped take away the pain in you're stomach," she take out the needle.

I nod, flashing a smile, and sit up, my face still pale.

Jace

Well...this was almost a complete waste of time.

I watch Rayah sit up, worried, and take a deep breath.

"You okay to walk or do you want me to carry you?" I ask.

Rayah

Just as I'm about to answer Jesse comes running in, throwing me over her shoulder. She grabs Jace's wrist and drags us out, plopping us down in the trunk. What. The. Hell.

Jace

"Uh...the trunk? Really?" I ask, not really expecting an answer.

Rayah

Jesse just shakes her head and drives off. I try to get comfortable, getting slightly carsick.

Jace

I move Rayah onto my lap and lean her against me, keeping her as still as possible, "Just...relax. Talk about something with me. Anything."

Rayah

I flash a smile, "Can we go swimming right after this? I Uh...kinda need to cool off and I'm already wet from Jesse throwing me in," I say, "We can watch the stars on the beach," I kiss his cheek.

Jace

I flash a smile and look at her, sighing, "If you're up to it."

Rayah

I smile and nod, "I am," I say, glancing down at my wet clothes.

Jace

I smile at her and kiss her forehead, glancing down at my burns as she looks at her clothes.

Rayah

Jesse drops us off at the beach and I flash a smile, getting out from the back. "Thanks."

I grab Jace's hand and pull him out, Jesse sighing and nodding, "Whatever. Anything for you to get out of the house."
