I sigh and cross my arms, resting them on the side of the medical bed. "Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets," I tell him in a whisper. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it," I look up at him.

I flash a smile and watch her, nodding. My shivers continue, leaving me freezing. Something sounding similar to a gust of wind takes place and the cloaked man from before appears in the truck with a little girl. He sets her down and feels my forehead.
"Maybe I was wrong..." he whispers to himself, "But...it worked."
He draws back and crouches before the little girl, looking her in the eyes.
"It worked..." he whispers again, looking at Rayah and I, "Close your eyes, Carter. Your body needs time to respond to the treatment."
