"Let's just tread water, then," I said. "We're going to want to get out of the water eventually, but right now, it's more important to keep our heads up. You stay here, okay? I'll be right back."

I swam off toward a clump of debris and started sifting through it, in search of lifejackets. My leg was killing me, but frankly, I was more afraid of drowning than whatever that injury was. When I didn't find any, I swam back to Lindsey.

"What were you looking for?" she asked. Her teeth were chattering.

"Lifejackets," I replied. "I didn't find any. Just keep moving, alright? That's the best way to stay warm. ...And don't mention Titanic until we're back on land."

We keep swimming for a long time, but we then waves crash over my head. I know land is near. Before I know it I feel sand on my feet. Will gets up and I see a horrible gash on his leg. "Will you leg." I say. I cough the water out of my lungs.

"I know. It is fine." He says.

"No it is not." I say.

He helps me up off the ground. "We need to go." He say. He limps and we manage to find help. He talks to someone about the ship and everyone rushes around. Someone gives me a blanket and wraps me up in it. I look at me white hands. They are totally colorless. I snuggles up to the blankest and lay my head down as they work on Will's leg.

"Oh my God, your hands!" I forgot all about the medic working on my leg when I saw Lindsey's hands. They were white--not just pale, actually white--and she seemed to be having trouble moving her fingers.

I grabbed Lindsey's hands and rubbed them between mine, in a feeble attempt to warm them up. Her hands were freezing--so cold that my fingers had started to lock up, too.

"Excuse me," I said to the medic. "Do you have any hand warmers?"

The medic thought for a moment while he finished bandaging my leg. "I'll go get a few," he said. "And some gloves, too. Those get really hot; can't have you burning your hands."

"The medic's getting you some gloves," I said to Lindsey.

They came back with gloves and hand warmers. The man gave me the gloves. I try my best to put them on, but it was not working. Will, seeing me struggle, helped me put them on. I manage to smile. He puts the warmers in my hands and closes my hand.

After the medic leaves from helping Will, I lay on his shoulder. He wraps his arm around me and with his free hand, he holds mine.

Lindsey leaned against me and closed her eyes. I didn't want to wake her if she was sleeping, but she looked exhausted--it would probably take a lot to wake her up.

"Well," I muttered, keeping my voice quiet. "That was some vacation."

"Mm-hm." Lindsey nodded--so she wasn't sleeping.

"I'm going to need another one, I think," I added, only half-joking.

"Maybe on land," Lindsey murmured. "I like the ocean, but after that...?"

“I just do not know if I would be able to get use to it again.” I say. I close my eyes again. All I can think about it the ice cold water and the huge wave taking me under. Water begin to fill my eyes, so I bury my face in Will's chest, not wanting to be seen.

The water started to rush over the bridge, it washed over slowly, in the distance i could see boats rushing out and picking people out of the water , i started banging on the window , but it was no use no one could hear me , so i gave up and sat down , and reserved my energy even though i didnt have much left , i pulled my phone out of my pocket and strangly enough i had soem service , so i rand up a few people , but no one awnsered , so then i rang up the local hospital out here and a voice i knew said " Hello?" , my eyes opened up really wide and i said " John?" , he replied , " yes this is john who is this?!?!?" " Its me Alysha , i own that ship thats still sinking now outside the island your on ? and we went to school togethere remember?" i said , the air was slowly getting limeted , and it was getting harder to breath , strangly enough the glass hadnt broken with the amount of pressure on it , i said " the ships totatlly under water now and well.. " then my phone cut out and on the other end he was still going " HELLLO? HELLO???- the air started to limit , my dad was unconsious barely breathing so i dragged him over to a corner and hugged him and i passed out , the ship hit the bottom but slid off the edge and down a crevice that was there , while the ship was sinking i got service in and out in and out , but i was unconsious to notice.

"I know." I agreed with her to make her feel better, but then I looked out at the water again. For some reason, I didn't care--I didn't care that I'd nearly been frozen and drowned on the same voyage, I didn't care that there were sharks and coral and icebergs and storms. I felt more at home on the water than I did on land, and despite everything that had happened, I wanted to be back at the helm of a ship.

"Will!" I heard the thud of footsteps, and then Officer Halley appeared beside me. "Have you seen the captain?" he asked. "I can't find him anywhere!"

I thought for a moment, and then frowned. Where was the captain? "I haven't seen him," I answered. "...But everyone escaped, didn't they? He has to be around here somewhere..."

I awoke when the cabin hit the bottom of the crevice , and looked around it seemed to be dark and gloomy , with little flickers of light coming through , i could barely see fish swim past , but i could hear the engines of boats still , there was little or no air left which was making it harder for us to breath , i felt alysha behing me , and tried to awake her , but she wouldnt budge , she was out cold , not breathing , but i knew she was unconsious or atleast i thought , i had no energy so i couldnt move at all , all i could do was look around , i had a look for the radio, and saw it was still working , and i knew someone had a walktalkie on them because they came as standard issue and they were waterproof and floated, so i crawled over to the radio and started saying " This is mocking bird 2 , and this is the ships captain , i am Captain ,Joe Jones , and me and my daughter are here , I dont know where we are but our air is next to nothing , and my daughter Alysha jones is unconious , if anybody is listening to this please help us "

I heard a strange crackling noise, and pointed at Halley's belt. "Halley, your walkie-talkie!" I said.

Halley grabbed the walkie-talkie and turned its dial a few times. There was another burst of static, and then a voice materialized--Captain Jones!

"--Where we are, but our air is next to nothing," the captain said, his voice breathy and thin. "And my daughter Alysha Jones is unconscious. If anybody is listening to this, please help us."

"Someone get a rescue team!" Halley shouted. He ran off toward the pier. I tried to get up and follow him, but I just didn't have the strength--my knees buckled, and I fell back into the sand next to Lindsey.

-Captain Joe Jones-
The water started to seep through small cracks in the glass and Alysha was still unconscious. The air getting thinner, and thinner, my heart started to race faster, and faster.
Then the glass started cracking and water started to rush through. Suddenly I started to suffocate , within a few seconds everything had gone black.

The air had thinned out so much it was too hard to breath. I was breathing heavily trying to get in enough air. My dad was , either dead or unconscious. I stumbled to the radio and said “ Please help us , Captain Joe Jones , I think he is almost dead * the air , it’s that thin it’s like there is none I cant breathe nearly , Please help us , we are in the ships bridge , water its coming in the glass is cracking please help me!”.

I feel to the sand, so weak I could hardly move. Then I head Alysha's voice. She was stuck and she might be breathing her last breath. My eyes begin to fill with tears at the thought of her dying. "Some one has to help her." I say. "This can't be the way it ends for her."

I swore under my breath, and then got to my feet. A rescue team was standing nearby, but they seemed confused. "I'll be right back," I said to Lindsey.

Lindsey frowned for a moment, but then realized where I was going. "Will, no!" she said. "What are you--Will!"

I limped over to the rescue team, and took one of the divers's mask from him. "I know where the bridge is," I said. "Give me that." The rescuer handed me his oxygen tank and flippers, and I slipped them on over my clothes.

I shuffled over to the water, my left flipper dragging in the sand, and waded in, securing my mask and mouthpiece as I went. As soon as the water was deep enough, I pitched forward and let some of the air out of my oxygen vest. I sank farther down as I swam toward the ship, fully aware of how many scuba rules I was breaking. I could already feel the pressure building in my head, but I couldn't take my time like I was supposed to, not with Alysha and the captain trapped down there.

I swam down the bridge and waved to Alysha. She waved back frantically, and shouted something. I couldn't hear her, though--the glass didn't carry sound well. There were cracks near the bottom of the window, and water had already begun to seep through.

I took a deep breath, and then pulled my mouthpiece out. "Deep breath!" I said to Alysha, forming the words carefully so she could read my lips. I had to break the glass, or they'd never get out--as long as the cracks didn't spread to the top of the window, most of the air would stay trapped inside. I swam up to the cracked glass, took two practice swipes for aim, and then hit it hard with my elbow. The bottom half of the window shattered, and Alysha was washed out in the current. I grabbed her arm, gave her a quick breath of oxygen, and then pushed her up toward the surface.

Ignoring the sting in my cut, I swam into the bridge and grabbed the captain. He was out cold--he needed oxygen, but I couldn't help him until we were on the surface again. I took a deep breath, and then swam as far up as I could before the headache became too much to bear. I stopped for just a moment, took a deep breath to relieve some of the pressure, and then kicked the rest of the way to the surface. The other rescuers were waiting for me, and they pulled me and the captain out of the water. Two of them carried Captain Jones off to the paramedics, and the others helped me to my feet. "How do you feel?" one of them asked.

"Terrible," I answered. "Worst case of the bends in my life. Where are Lindsey and Alysha?"

I get up to grab him but it is too late, he is gone. I sink into the sand again. Horrible thoughts race into my head. What if he dies? What if something bad happens? Tears stream out of my eyes uncontrollably. He is the most selfless person I know. The thought of loosing him makes my stomach twirl.

My attention goes to the ocean when I see people rush into it. They pull Alysha out of the water. I race with them to the hospital. They lay her on the bed and put an oxygen mask around her face.

I kneel next to her bed. "All your jewlery is safe, I took it off in and laid it in the other room. Your dress it not. You will have to forgive me on that. Thing did not happen as I planned it to be." I say.

She smiles a little. "I guess I can forgive you for that." She says.

Everyone had gotten out almost , but i was no where to be seen , i was out in the open water still , some blood was starting to surround me , but i ignored it and swam back down , i found the other half of the ship and swam in , i managed to find my room , i opened the door and swam in , it was full of air in my room and i dont know why , but somehow i managed to shut the door , my room had some water in it , i was searching through my stuff for my jewlery and pictures , after 10 minutes i found everything i wanted and shoved it ina plastic bag , i filled the plastic bag with some air then i tied it of and held it upside down , i then procedeed towards the door , but for some reason i turned around and looked out my window to see sharks swim past , and my clock was making a weird ticking noise , i pulled my phone out of my pocket but it wasnt working so i threw it on the bed , and then i went to my closet and found my walkie talkie , and said , " Will are you there? , If you are STAY out of the water , sharks are here , and my clock looks fater then it was when i bought it , and it seems to be counting down.. what does that mean ?"
