Hey, I'm sorry to say this but I'm going to have to ask you to withdraw my position. Things just came up...sorry.

Aileen Zander I watched Andres step off the airplane. It had been a very long flight, and I was tired. He reached out, and grabbed my hand. As an older brother, he was not annoying, not naughty, but nice, and helpful. We smiled at each other, and walked on. When we reached the place where you have to turn in passports, and make sure you're allowed to go on into America, we stopped by the restrooms. "Aileen, what's this water thing-- or is it--?" he asked. "It's called a-- drinking fountain from what I remember...." I said. "How does it--" He asked, then asked in Spanish, because that was easier for him. "Como sirve... O mas bien, como puedo hacer que salga el agua?" he asked. How's it work, or beter said, how can I make the water come out? "Aaaa, Andres! Empuje!" I say, laughing. Aww Andres! Push it! He smiled and laughed at himself. When he pushed it, it poured into his face, and he spluttered. "Aaaa!" he exclaimed, wiping his face on his jacket. "Andres! Asi, mira me." I say. Andres! Like this, watch me. I pushed the button slightly, bringing a steady flow out, then, I took a drink. He pushed my hand, making the water splash all over my face, as it had his. "Jeje! Mira te ahora!" Ha ha. Look at you now! I cupped water in my hands, and threw it at him. A police walked by, and we stopped. In Mexico, police are usually in bad moods, and don't like to be bothered. "Hi." he said. "Having fun I see!" said the police, smiling. Andres and I exchanged glances, and smiled back. We got in line. After a while, we were asked for our passports. We gave them. "Welcome to America, Andres. I see it's your first time. Is it your first time on an airplane?" said the person. He nodded proudly. We had gotten him a visa for the moment, and were in process of getting a passport. We got outside of the airport, and Andres smiled. "Aaa, Aileen. Porque no me dijiste que era tan bonito aqui! Yo hubiera venido antes!" He said laughing. Aww, Aileen. Why didn't you tell me that it is so pretty here! I would have come sooner! We got into a bus, and he found us seats, together. We sat down, exhausted. "Andres, voy a descansar. Me dices cuando paramos.... Si?" I ask. Andres, I'm going to rest. Tell me when the bus stops. Okay? I rested my head on his high shoulder, and he leaned down so I could reach him better. I love him.

Evan Haisley I glance up at the rear view mirror. No one. I expected that, though. Most people fly instead of driving to the centre because it's faster and they can afford it. I can't afford it on my own and my host family wanted to fly with me. This was the only solution that would let me travel alone. I'm almost there; I can see the city lights on the horizon, although I can't say I'm that excited. Most kids are way too excited about this. After all, we do end up leaving everything we know and never returning. I can't say I'm not a little excited by the prospect of finally seeing the inside of the testing centre, the place that so captivated Taylor that she never even looked back, except to say good-bye... No. No, you can't think of it like that. The annoying little voice in the back of my head is whispering again. It seems to speak up every time I think about Taylor, or think something negative about the testing centre or the triple worlds. Still. I have to wonder what I'm going to be facing when I reach the centre. The lights are still on the distant horizon when I come across a place where the road is completely ruined. Oh crap. At least this thought doesn't feel foreign. I hit the brakes, bringing the car to a rather abrupt halt, and open the door, getting out to inspect the damage.
It's not too bad to drive across. I need to hurry to the testing centre. The stupid thought has the same foreign feel as all the others, but it's right. I can't just leave my car parked in the middle of the road, even though no one would probably notice it, not for a while. The roads leading into this city are less traveled then most people would think. I can see another plane shooting through the sky over my head. I lean back as scream a few particularly nasty curses at the sky in my frustration. It's getting closer to one in the morning, I think, this time with a familiar feel. I might as well just wait until morning. With a sigh I climb back into my car, turning the key and feeling it come to life. I've read in old books about "the roar of the engine", but there is only a quiet purr from my car's engine. I slowly guide the car over to the side of the road and turn the car off, locking all the doors and slipping the key into the glove box. I lean back against my window and prop my feet up against the passenger side window. Tomorrow... I think, and, before I can finish my thought, I am asleep.
Bilbo: What have I got in my pocket? Gollum: Handsies! Bilbo: Nope, guess again. Gollum: A knife! No, no... Bilbo: Wrong again. Gollum: String! Or... Nothing!
It was late in the night, probably into the wee hours of the morning, and without the sunshine from the scattered high windows the fluorescent lights made the Center seem even whiter than it was. White it was indeed. White tiled floors, white painted walls, white drop-panelled ceilings, white tables covered in white sheets for the test subjects to sit on. This year's batch of sixteen-year-olds would be arriving in the morning, possibly any time now, and I strode through the halls, making sure all was well for their arrival.
After two thorough rounds of the center, I knew all the doors were locked and every room in perfect order. The lights had motion sensors and were set to go off automatically when nobody was around, so I didn't have to worry about turning them off. I got into the elevator, hit the button for the top floor, and waited . When the doors slid open, I clasped my hands behind my back and treaded along the corridor, the lights flicking on in front of me as they sensed movement. My boots clacked on the floor ominously, I imagined, as I thought of all the fun I would soon be having with a fresh bunch of boys to terrorize as their chaperone.
At the opposite end of the long dormitory hall I entered my own private room. My doorknob scanned my fingerprints and quickly made the familiar noises of unlocking as I turned the knob. This room had been my home for the past number of years. I walked through the room to the window directly opposite the door. It had a lovely view of the city, and I had some useful plants growing on the sill. They were the only bits of colour, even in my own room. Yes, this room was white too, from the lamp on the nightstand to the bathroom door. I perched on the edge of the white bedspread and pulled off my boots, socks, bandana, and shirt. I swung my legs onto the bed and dropped the covers over. I grabbed my computer from the nightstand, tapped "Night mode" on the screen, and settled down as the blinds closed, and the lights faded out. I yawned. I had a full day ahead of me tomorrow, with all those newbies eunning around. Music began to play softly, lulling me to sleep.

Hey, are the slots updated or not? I mean, I would be fine with having the last male character, but just checking to see if I could be a female character.
