Long ago, a battle waged between the kingdom of Solyria and its neighbours, Eccleston and Swails, over who would marry the fair Princess Angelica. With rosy cheeks and golden ringlets, Princess Angelica was long known to grow into the fairest woman in the land. But her parents feared for her safety and she was whisked away to the tiny seaside town of Haven. There, she grew from the tender age of fourteen to the woman she is today, raised by a kindly old baker by the name of Tiberius.

Eleven years on, the war still raging, the only two people who knew of Angelica’s whereabouts, her mother and father- the King and Queen of Solyria- have been murdered. The late King’s brother Claudius took the throne after the ruler’s death, and has dedicated his greatest resources to finding his lost niece. This is why Solyria have dispatched search parties all over the land in the hope of finding the Fairest Maiden In The Land.

Recent covert spies in the surrounding wood have heard whispers of such a girl living in Haven. While a search group consisting of the surprising able low-born Chuck and his companions Puck and Princess, word has also unfortunately spread to the Wrong People, such as the Duke of Eccleston.

The hard-hearted Duke Lawrence (whose health has been waning for years) has dispatched a caravan of his three sons, Smithfield, Octavius, and Cadis, along with their select Honour Guard to retrieve the lost princess at any costs. After all, the successor to the throne must have a beautiful wife. This is why he who finds the girl will marry her and take his father’s throne.

In the island province of Swails, the Prime Minister, an extremely powerful warlock by the name of Caspar, attempts to persuade the Queen to take action against Eccleston, while the princes and the best soldiers in the country are already occupied. While the council, terrified of Caspar's power, are convinced, Queen Charlotte is mourning the loss of her eldest son James at sea. She is vainly attempting to arrange a marriage between James’ old fiancée, the pretty, sharp Aurelia, and her second son Ferris. Much to Charlotte’s embarrassment, Ferris seems to enjoy his time in the stables- and one stable boy in particular, Glen- far more than his time with Aurelia.

And back in Haven, Angelica has grown like a sister to Tiberius' granddaughter Coco, a girl filled with a hunger to see the world. This is why when a mysterious stranger who remembers nothing but his name- James- washes up on shore, the two take him under their wing, unaware of the various factions about to converge on their peaceful existence...

Full Name: Kingsley Newcastle
Name used: Chuck
Age: 21

Appearance:
Spoiler
Image
He's also got a nautical tattoo on his arm from his sailor days~
Image

So, Kingsley dresses like any other man from his time period, and you wouldn't be able to tell him apart from a crowd, unless you saw his tattoo, which is impossible since he always covers it with his old bracelets. He's slightly tanned from his time at sea, and has a scar over his right eye form the skirmish with the pirates when he was 17 years old.

Personality:
Kingsley, (reffered to as Chuck by almost all who know him, thanks to his best friend's girlfriend, Polly), is a slightly self-centered young man. He is handsome in a slightly rugged way, and has charm and wit. He knows how to use both and isn't afraid of doing so. As a young boy, Kingsley had a knack for getting into trouble. He was curious about everything and his curiosity often led him to dangerous places. As he grew up, he became adept at escaping various "situations" he landed himself in, but not always alone. He often enlisted (and still does), the help of his best friend Puck.

He's quick-witted and clever with his hands, and for those who get to know him, he's loyal, laid-back and caring. He thinks of Puck as his brother, as the two almost grew up together. He would give his life willingly for his best friend. He's also slightly rascally when it finally comes down to it. He has a way wothbwords, enough to charm the most guarded person, when he's not threatening them. He's all action and no plan, the exact opposite of Puck.

He trusts Puck beyond all reason, and mostly trusts Polly only by extension, though he has a hard time understanding how a guy like Puck fell for a girl like Polly. Both he and Polly are always at odds with each other, what with her view of him as a third wheel ad his view of her as a hare-brained duck. Their arguments cause Puck much grief and often force him to join in, if not jus to stop the two, and hence, between the three of them, they rarely get any searching done, despite Puck and Kingsley's considerable skills.

History:
Kingsley had a very mucked up past. Orphaned at the tender age five when his family was killed in a fire, Chuck was thrown out of his orphanage (for causing too much trouble) at the age of seven. Hers ge met Puck, (who was a street rat in search of his parents, knowing they were alive). The two of the worked together for two to three years and became partners in survival and in all their mischeif.

This did not last ling however. They were captured by slave traders, who treated them brutally, and were then sold off as a pair (luckily) to a man who treated them worse than animals. He used them for his spying and scheming purposes, and it was here that both Puck and Kingsley honed their abilities. Puck became an expet at sleight of hand, gathering information and adroitness, while Kingsley became a tracker more efficient than any dog. These five years were horrible, as they hated their master with a passion and he in turn, kept them barely alive Then, when they were of fifteen years of age, their master died mysteriously (something about falling asleep in a kiln), leaving them free.

Here, the friend's separated for a while. Chuck wanted to travel and Puck had had news of his father, who was still living in their home kingdom of Solyria. So Chuck joined some sailors, and didn't see Puck for a good five years. When he came back, he'd acquired, among other things, on his travels, a flying turtle named Callum Theodore Seymour Johnson, whom he's fastiduosly nicknamed Wiser and his skills had increased to being able to handle a rapier and a cross bow.

He met Puck (who'd found his father), and together they decided to begin a little agency - a private investigative venture per se. This had been running smoothly for over a year, before both were summoned to court to look for the missing princess.

Skills: Tracking, locating, speed, agility and combat.

Other:
Up for love: Yes
Weapons: Carries a rapier and a crossbow for combat.
Pets: A flying turtle named Callum Theodore Seymour Johnson. Usually called Wiser.

Since I couldn't decide ~

About Wiser: Chuck found Wiser on his travels with the sailors. Wiser is, as his name implies, very intelligent. He has great personality though he cannot talk. He expresses himself ver well with his large green eyes, and usually has a knock or two on the head for Chuck and company to bring their attention back to the job at hand. He most often acts as the peacekeeper among the three friends.

Full Name: Ferris Alexander Cudbert Osian McArthian

Name used: In general, just Ferris. His mother uses his full name if he's misbehaves though. Which is often.

Age: 18 (and a half, as he often reminds people)

Appearance: Ferris has dark hair that's always perfectly unkempt. He usually sticks it up off his face as his fringe (bangs) reaches the tips of his moss coloured eyes. He's around 5"10, slightly tanned, has quite soft features and grows dimples on his cheeks whenever he smiles, which he more or less is always doing. He's got quite a muscular build because he's very active and often helps Glen with all of the physical work in the stables. He isn't keen on his fancy Prince clothing and if he could, he'd throw on some rags and roll in the dirt all day.

Spoiler
Image

Personality: Ferris is as outgoing as it gets. He's impulsive and things don't really process through his mind before he says them. As a result, he's known for making some situations a little awkward... not that he notices. He just keeps on talking, which is something he does a lot of. Ferris isn't exactly in touch with his emotions, especially after the death of his brother and because of his strained relationship with his mother. He doesn't like talking about 'feelings' and if he's asked about them, he cracks a joke or changes the subject. He loves company, his mind has a tendency to wander off to unrelated subjects and for someone who's had a good education, common sense isn't his strong point. If he was living in our modern day universe, he'd have probably been diagnosed with ADHD.

Ferris also has a phobia of being alone. As a young child, he tried to run away from home after an argument with his mother over him not being the sophisticated prince he should be. He ended up running away, only to get lost in a forest. He doesn't know how long he was lost in that forest, but what he does know is that the experience terrified him and he detested being alone in the middle of nowhere. As a result, even if he's left alone in the palace grounds for a lengthy time, he gets extremely anxious.

History: Due to him being a prince, Ferris has been privileged in riches since he can remember, although while most people would adore that fact, Ferris isn't all too proud of it. He hates seeing poorer people work their butts off and have barely anything while he does nothing and gets whatever he wants. His conscience was let off slightly when he met Glen, the stable boy, for the first time at 11-years-old. Since then, he's helped Glen with the horses and as a result, ended up being best friends with him.

While Ferris could always be fulfilled in terms of riches, his relationship with his family has always bee strained. His father died when he was a toddler but since he can remember, his mother had always thought the world of his older brother, and always pushed Ferris to the sidelines. Now that his brother is no longer around though, instead of his mother cherishing the fact that her one son is still alive and well, she's just trying to shove him over to James's ex. All Ferris can think about is Glen.

Skills: He's one hell of a goat milker (not that anyone knows because apparently, milking goats isn't very princelike of him). Because of his time spent with Glen, he's great with animals in general and is also really good with people. He's a skilled liar, is good at any kind of physical work or action and can make anyone smile.

Other: Ferris is secretly gay and he absolutely adores goat's milk.

This is like, scratch notes for now. xP

Full Name: Yoshikazu Akihiko Hiro Iwao

Name used: Glen

Age: 19

Appearance: Glen has a gentle, olive skin-tone and impossibly warm, dark brown eyes with an Oriental twist (although, they're rarely visible from behind those bangs of his. He has more hair than he knows what to do with, hanging around his head in a way that suggests he rarely grooms it. Which he doesn't. He's too busy grooming the horses to give it more than a run-through with a comb every couple days or so). His lips seem to have a different way of pushing themselves to one side or another for every emotion he feels, ranging from adorable to laugh-evoking to gut-wrenching. He's got a muscly build in a lean sort of way from lifting and carrying, and although you wouldn't guess with when he's wearing a shirt, those muscles are rather visible.
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Glen has always had an open heart; he's never been the type to seek revenge or even to hate people who torment him. He can brush off someone's arrogance with a smile, a few harsh words with a compliment. If you find an angry Glen, you might've well have just found a sun in the bottom of the ocean. It's not something that most will see in their lifetime. He doesn't talk a lot- he prefers to lip-read,- but he loves the company of others. But once you do get him talking, he has his odd moments where he can ramble on and on for hours on end. He's a very, very curious person, and will often spend a long time with someone in a comfortable silence and then unload a thousand questions about this or that, hoarding little trivial facts. He knows almost everyone in the palace by face and name, and has a knack for reading facial and body cues, letting him know exactly what a person's feeling without them having to so much as open their mouths. He also knows how to read cues from animals, well enough that he's recognized how they respond to the presence of certain people. His friendliness does, however, often cause him to forget who he is. He forgets to bow for nobility and royalty, and has no regard for social standing. He'll offer advice to anyone, regardless of whether it's his place to do so or not. He doesn't mean to be rude, it's just something that slips his mind. Oh, and he doesn't. Know. How. To. Say. No.

He does, however, have many moments where he gets this longing in him. And where everyone has longing, his runs deep enough to distract him, sending him into daydreams of another place and other people- adventures he knows he'll never have. It's not that he's not content or that he doesn't like his life as it is, he just knows that there are things he's missing out on. A mother he can't make contact with anymore. He gets so consumed by this sometimes that he completely loses himself, forgetting duties that aren't directly related to the animals, losing track of time, forgetting appointments and just generally hurting over it for a time.

Spoiler
Condensed version:
Naturally curious/inquisitive, almost abnormally sweet, adores animals of any king, is growing more and more homesick, loves everyone, absent minded, forgets his place at times, absent-minded. Very much a pacifist.[/i]

History: Glen was born to a poorer family in the Molten Shore; an only son and an only child to his two parents. His father had, at one point in his life, been a great teacher, admired and respected among the populace. However, he took a downfall in his career by marrying a woman that was scorned- nobody is quite sure of what blemish she had, but she had one. Glen's birth was the highlight of his parents' life, and heartbreak struck when they found out soon after that he'd been born deaf. They were told to send him away, since they were unable to afford to send him to a special school. Unwilling to give up, his parents combined their knowledge, struggling to teach their only child how to speak and read sign-language.

By age seven, it was hard to tell that he was deaf at all. The boy's quick learning and his parents' perseverance paid off in the long-run, and it all came to ruin a week after Glen's eighth birthday. Their entire area was raided and ransacked by slave traders. Glen's father was slain, he and his mother separated. Glen was captured, and wound up in an illegal network of human trafficking (something that only seemed to be fueled by the feuding) within the kingdoms. It wasn't until he ended up in Swails at ten years did he catch a break. A retired guard accidentally walked in on what would have been another sale, putting an end to it immediately and taking Glen back to live with him. During that time, the older man (whose name had been Garvin), renamed him to Glen (after his late brother, who had died in combat some years ago- Glen's real name was just too big a tongue-twister for him. Glen honestly didn't mind the change, himself), and cared for him as if the boy were his own son.

Noticeable right away was the boy's big heart, lack of lust for vengeance, a quick way of learning things and, most of all, his love for nature and animals. Immediately, Garvin knew of a way to secure Glen a life after he passed on (for he was rather old). They worked day in and day out, pouring themselves over techniques to teach the deaf boy Swaili. By twelve, he knew enough to earn himself a job as a palace stable-boy. He and Ferris were fast friends; Ferris liked to talk, and Glen liked to read lips and be as attentive as he possibly could, what with his absent mindedness. With the help of both Garvin and Ferris, he became fluent in their language- one of his most prided accomplishments. Garvin died when Glen was fourteen, and his death triggered something in the young boy. A strange longing for his homeland, and a need to contact his mother again. He sent her a letter, and they've stayed in contact that way ever since.

Skills: He's absolutely amazing with animals of any sort, particularly horses. They share an understanding of sorts, and no wild animal stays wild for long under his care. He's tamed more horses than he can count, birthed as many colts as any animal physician and knows every fact about every single creature under his care. He's an excellent listener (well, lip-reader), and no matter what, he always makes time for other people. His ability to read social cues and body language (human or animal) is almost impeccable (unless he's around Ferris, in which case he's just been too flustered to figure out anything, lately). He's technically tri-lingual, knowing his native tongue, the language of Swails, and sign-language (he uses it with a few select people, but usually he just talks).

Did I mention he's an excellent goat milker? Ferris didn't learn that from just anyone.

Other: He is deaf- can't hear a single word- (though not mute by any means), secretly gay, and has a pet sparrow named Cider.

He never sleeps in the palace (servants quarters are both too smelly and too... well, they're just not his style. He prefers nature to indoors any day), and has a little loft-room set up in the stables. There's a rafter that he can crawl across to get to an opening in the roof, and tends to fall asleep up there on warm nights. It's his secret entrance, though- the only other living human to know of it is Ferris.
Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl.

got trans?

Is it alright if I take Smithfield?

Edit: Profile! Still partly under construction!

Full Name: Isaias Evander Gordian Smithfield.

Name used: Smithy or Smith and only sometimes as Isaias.

Age: 26/27.

Appearance: Smithy is tall with shoulder length, curly dark brown, almost black hair, slim-to-medium build and darker amber-brown eyes than his brother, Octavian.
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Cruel, violent, cold-hearted, fiery, determined and without mercy, Isaias, or Smithfield as he’s more often known, is a force to be reckoned with. As a child, he used to be kind, loving and all things good until he was ten, when he and his brothers lost their mother. He lost all sense of right, of goodness that day, turning to his father, who was much like him and loved the power being a Duke gave him. Isaias does as he wants most of the time and only listens to his father, frail as the man is. Smithy has a bit of a temper, which is very short, very fiery and sometimes very violent. It's best if you don't make him mad--or then again, maybe you can distract him by making him angry .

Isaias is very loyal to his father and what his father wants. He appears to be a flirt, but really, he has no love for anyone, cold-hearted and angry most of the time. He has a nasty mean streak and is possibly insane. He desires power above all else and despises foolish thigns, such as love. Isaias also likes to torture people, using all sorts of methods to get information, or whatever else he wants out of his victim. He's vicious and sadistic, preferring to get his hands dirty then to let his soldiers, brother/s or other people have all the fun. But don't be completely fooled--the kindness is there, somewhere, deep down. You just have to find it.

History: Smithy had a rather interesting relationship with his brothers, who either annoy him or infuriate him, either way, it ends up with Smithy's temper practically exploding. He also has a rather decent relationship with his father. Childhood for the trio of Eccleston brothers was good, happy.

The boys were fairly close... That is, until their mother died, leaving them alone in a huge house with only the household servants and their father for company. The brothers sort of...drifted apart, going their separate ways, and life again was good, but never like it was before.

Smithy was taught by his father while his brothers were entrusted to the care of others. Nowadays, the brothers are close again, if you could call it that. Their father is dying and they each desire something different, but first. Where is that princess?

Skills: Like his brother, he’s also a brilliant horseman and he’s better with the sword than Tavian, but still no master at it. Smithy is also pretty good with the bow and arrow, preferring the bow to the spear when hunting. Spent far too much time trying to find his brother/s when they ditched their lessons and/or well-meaning caretakers, often having to climb trees and cliffs to find Octavian and/or Cadis.

Other: Thinks the entire “quest” is a chore, but is willing to do it, if only for the sake of the power having the princess by his side would give him.

Name used: Lia

Age: 20

karen-doll.jpg (28.92 KiB) Viewed 771 times

Aurelia is a redhead, with big brown eyes. Her hair, if not tied back, is always messy. She’s yet to lose some baby weight, so she’s chubby, giving her face a slightly rounded appearance. She has full lips and dimpled cheeks. She usually has a slight blush, like she had just seen someone very attractive. Her skin is pale, from hours spent reading, and not being in the sun. She wears a little watch around her neck so she never loses track of time.

Personality: Aurelia is sharp witted and very smart. She spends most of her time, when not doing princess things, reading anything and everything. In public, she’s bubbly and bright, letting an almost vacant demeanor cover her actual personality. She’s been known to love to dance, and sing and eat pretty little treats at balls. She’s somewhat of a flirt, even though she already has an arranged marriage. She, in private, thinks everything through, only speaking in necessary. In public, with her parents or her betrothed, she says whatever silly thing comes to mind. It’s all about keeping appearances and doing what her parents want. She's very punctual. She's always on time for anything, no matter what.

History: Aurelia is the only girl in her family. Her parents, King and Queen of the Molten Shore, promised her to marry the son of their close friend Queen Charlotte when she was five days old. She and James met once, when they were young, and the wedding would take place during her twenty-first year. Aurelia was not doted on as a child. She worked for anything she wanted. She has six brothers, and she is the youngest. She spent lots of time with the boys, learning how to tie knots and ride horses and whatever other things boys do. The moment she turned thirteen, her mother took her under her wing, grooming her to be the best wife Aurelia could possibly be ever.

Skills: Knot-tying, horse back riding, reading, being very sarcastic

Full Name: Pollyanna Egglintine (Or Polly, depending on who you ask) Fretshield (Fret-shield)
Name used: Princess (And rarely Polly)
Age: 17

*obviously without the nose ring xD*

Polly's face is covered in freckles, along with her arms and legs. She has reddish brown hair that's really really thick, wavy and long. She has dark blue eyes, almost navy. Her eyelashes are super long. She's average height and body type, not very thin, but not fat either. She's really short, only 5'1.

Personality:
Spoiler
She's a ditsy self centered girl that really deep down cares. But you have to get past the materialism to find it.

Polly is really ditsy. She doesn't think things through very often, and she's known for saying the things she thinks of, before wondering if it's really appropriate to say or not. She often says how if she had it her way, she'd be a princess living in a castle covered in jewels, or how she was born to the wrong parents, earning her the nickname 'Princess.' She loves to tell people when the things they're wearing don't look very good, or when the people themselves don't look good. She prides herself on looking her best constantly, and take great pains to keep her skin pale. Her freckles are the bane of her existence, and she says that's her only cross to bear. Most people can't stand her for long periods of time, not counting her boyfriend Puck. He dotes on her, and would give her anything in the world if she just asked. Puck is also the only thing Polly would give up comforts for. If he asked, she'd live in a cave just to make him happy. If she could take her favorite gown with her. She has a weakness for being in the limelight and feeling important. If you're giving her attention, she's her happiest. She's been known to throw diva fits if people pay attention to someone else, especially if she feels that the subject of the attention is better directed at her. Even though deep down inside she loves Puck with every fiber of her being, she's quite materialistic. If Puck does something embarrassing, as he often does, because she's cute when she's mad-- she won't speak to him until she's sure he hasn't ruined her reputation. Reputation is everything, as she often tells her boyfriend and his best friend when they're going any where in public.

History:
Polly grew up like any normal child. She has a mother and a father, three older brothers, and two younger sisters. She grew up in a small town outside of Solyria, called *think of name*. From a very young age she showed a talent in the art of dancing, so her parents decided that she should be sent to Solyria at the tender age of fifteen to dance in the house of a noble that had often stayed at the family inn. Polly moved into the noble's house with several other dancers, and has been dancing there ever since. She met Puck, her boyfriend there, and falls instantly in love with him. After awhile, he grows to love her, (after she's chased him for months, and thrown herself at him in a 'lady like' way.) She and Puck have been together for years, and she would be happy to quit her job at the noble's house to run away on an adventure with him. Before she left for the noble's house, she and her oldest brother Marqus traveled almost everywhere together, him selling things as a peddler. Her favorite places to go were Eccleson and Northreach Bay. The only places she has never been are Swails, The Molten Shore, and unfortunately Haven.

Skills:
She's very good at putting together outfits, and disguises.
Even though she doesn't look it, Polly is a fantastic liar, and charmer. If she really needed to get out of something, she could just my flashing her smile.
When push comes to shove, she is selfless. If there is someone in need, Polly is going to be right there taking care of them. She can't stand to see people in pain, and she basks in the gratitude afterwards.
She's really good with a dagger, and knows how to use. And isn't afraid.
She's never afraid of anything. If a bear walked up to her and rawred, she'd probably tell it that it's breath smelled.
She has a talent for dancing, singing and dramatic speech. You don't have to ask twice for her to show you what she can do.

Other:
Up for love? Well, no, she has a boyfriend ;)

Being Polly, she's constantly trying to guess when Puck, her boyfriend, will propose. She hasn't been right so far, but that doesn't stop her. She still doesn't believe they're searching for the princess. She thinks this is a romantic getaway for her and Puck. If you tell her otherwise, she's bound to get quite snapish. She'll probably try to get rid of Chuck often, trying to give Puck chances to propose. Will it happen on this trip? No one knows.... Except Puck of course ;)

She hates it when people call her Pollyanna. Chuck loves to annoy her, so he calls her Pollyanna.

When she first met Chuck, she decided that she'd call him Chuck (since his real name is Kingsley) because it rhymes with Puck's name.

Because they bicker so much, and Puck often joins in, they hardly ever get searching done. But eventually they stumble upon the princess.

She has a pet mouse named Xavier that wears a pink ribbon tied round it's neck with a little tiny bell on. He usually rides in her pocket. You hurt Xavier, you'll probably be murdered on the spot.

She has a talent for dancing, singing and dramatic speech.

She carries a jeweled dagger, and loves to threaten people with it. It was a present from her brother, Neclan.

She has a passion for raspberries and pomegranates.

Finally finished. ;)

I'll finish this eventually

Full Name: Coralina Corinth Harwick

Name used: Coco

Age: 18

Appearance:
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Coco is a dreamy adventurous type (in other words, a Rapunzel type). She's never been outside of Haven, in her memory, and wishes so desperately to know a place that's not here. She tends to daydream constantly, which gets in the way of her work and causes many...mishaps (more than one fire has been started at the hands of Coco's dreaming). She's not much of a "lady" though Angelica is always eager to impart some of her inherent poise to Coco.

History: Coco was orphaned as a young girl and taken in by her grandfather, Tiberius, the baker. She has spent her life working in his bakery and learning the trade of bakering. She has never, in her memory, been outside of Haven.

Skills: Baking (she makes a mean gingerbread man), general cleaning and tidying, dealing with customers rotten over supposed mistakes in their orders, rope knotting, climbing ship's masts, simple dagger defense.

Other: When not in the bakery, Coco has a habit of sneaking down to the harbor and watching the sailors loading and unloading the ships. She's made friends with a few more shady times, though it has allowed her to be taught various practical (and self defense) skills.

Octavian hereby claimed! Details to follow.

Full Name: Octavian

Name used: Tavian

Age: 24. Autumn child.

Appearance: (picture is optional) Wheatish-light brown hair, kept short and practical. Medium build, average-to-tall height, amber-brown eyes. More to come dependent on Smithson and Cadis.

Personality: You'd be foolish to call this duke's son light-hearted, whatever his adventuresome, borderline mischievous ways might convey. He's fond of collecting "treasures," and in his eyes, this lost princess might just be the greatest treasure of all. How splendid it would be to have her there, sitting by his side, looking pretty. Not to mention, there'd be an entire duchy looking at him. Which isn't to imply that he does everything for attention. It's not really attention that he's after. What he'd really like most of all is his elder brother looking at him and saying, "See? That's my brother! Look what my brother went and did for the glory of our kingdom!"

But that's getting a little resentful, so let's go back to that lighthearted, friendly, slightly mischievous bit, shall we? And the thing about the treasure. He killed a troll once that was harassing two sweet farm girls, and he yanked out the tusks and turned them into knife handles.

He loves to be active, and loves being outdoors. He really, really likes to be active outdoors, doing outdoorsy things, preferably with a risk of danger about them. He has a strange blend of practicality and pragmatism versus romanticism and idealism about him. He can't quite decide whether he likes the treasure or the journey to it more, and the conflict wars inside him deep, deep down.

History: Tavian here has a surprisingly good relationship with his father and it pains him to know his father is suffering. His father's a hard man--who lived a hard life, and Tavian gets that. But Tavian does have quite the...interesting relationship with his brothers. He pities his younger brother Cadis, who is still frail and child-like in Tavian's eyes despite their only two-year age gap. And Smithson? Well, that's a complicated story.

But Tavian was born one sunny autumn day, brought into the world with the harvest, and some of the servant women with their superstitions were quick to inform his mother that this accounted for his altogether autumny appearance and then autumny personality.

He didn't much like sitting still. He was never particularly loud, and indeed went about things with quiet determination, but he was active enough to given those in charge of his care a work-out on a daily basis. When he was old enough, they dropped him into the care of the captain of the guard and the master huntsman and the kennelmaster and then finally the stablemaster.

Skills: A brilliant horseman, and of decent talent with swords because of long hours of practice. He's better at throwing knives, though--he had an annoying habit of flinging them at the dinner table to annoy his older brother when he was about fourteen-fifteen and prone to such immature things. Given his youth spent running away from well-meaning caretakers and doing things that made the women have heart attacks, he is also talented at climbing trees and rocks and cliffs.

Other: Views finding the princess to be one fantastic adventure.

From now on, all OOC stuff please go to PM or the gDoc rather than here, I'll make a DT if people still can't grasp it!

Full Name: Her Most Royal Highness, Crown Princess Angelica Leonie Frieda Isolde Eva Callion, Heir to the Throne of Solyria. Haven Alias- Alfie Cale.

Name used: for the past eleven years, Alfie.

Age: 25

Appearance: Princess Angelica grew up to be everything they imagined of her- with golden curls and bright blue eyes, rosy cheeks and red lips. She is reasonably tall and slender, her curves are unpronounced and her limbs long. Her skin is very pale, even after living in Haven for so many years.

Despite attempting to retain her anonymity, Alfie still carries herself with a taught poise and elegance that to a trained eye mark her immediately as somebody high-born.

Spoiler
Image

Personality: Alfie is sick of romance.

No really. You may have heard a hundred girls say so, but secretly they all dream of being swept off their feet. But Alfie had too much of that sort of thing when she was younger, too many men coming to her parents and proclaiming their love for her. Not one of them was telling the truth. And so, her faith in true love fell to tatters, and along with it the longing for danger and excitement that once so enthralled her. Alfie is not looking for adventure. She no longer believes in dreaming.

But that makes it all sound quite depressing. Truthfully, Alfie and Angelica aren't that different at all. Angelica always had difficulty learning topics such as philosophy, music and art, things she saw no use for. In the same way, Alfie is forever practical, and possibly a little hard-hearted when it comes to making decisions.

Alfie hates being idle. Coco tries to tell her that she should relax more, but doing things is her form of relaxation. She always wants to be reading or running errands or helping the people of Haven when she's not working. Maybe because it keeps her mind off the past, because whenever she does happen to think of her former life, tears inevitably spring to her eyes. And that makes her seem weak, lets the Angelica shine through the Alfie.

She rarely lets the others see her cry, although it does happen. Like when her parents were killed. The worst part was not being able to tell anyone why she was so miserable. But her temper, that's something to watch out for. Alfie doesn't suffer fools lightly. And when she's angry, she's really just explosive. She hates stupidity, hates people not thinking things through.

On the other hand, Alfie loves to laugh, loves it. The best thing anyone can do to get into her good books is be entertaining. Well, be entertaining and useful. She loves people with a quick rapport, and fancies herself quite the comedienne.

She doesn't feel challenged in Haven, and she gets her hands on as many books as possible to learn new things. Sometimes she misses the chatter she could have in the palace with lords and ladies and visiting diplomats. Sometimes, she understands when Coco says that bread simply isn't enough. But mostly, she is doing her duty, keeping her head down and being safe.

the tl;dr version: realistic, practical to a fault, doesn't cry much, has a temper, hates stupidity, good sense of humour, misses intellectual stimulation, has a strong sense of duty.

History: Angelica is a girl over whom wars have started. Literally.

Born to a long childless king and queen, Angelica was the darling of Solyria, and was given every blessing and gift available to her. She had separate tutors in poise, diplomacy, needlework, mathematics, literature, philosophy, music, art, drama, rhetoric, history, geography, politics and economics, all before she was forced to leave home at fourteen. In the past eleven years, the things like philosophy and music and diplomacy on which Angelica could not get a firm grasp have left her mind.

As she grew older, her hair beginning to tumble down her back, the roses in her cheeks to bloom and her puppy fat to fall away to prove she was not just a pretty child but a beautiful woman, and her quick mind showed her to be a valuable asset to the kingdom, discussions about whom she should marry began to take place. But the discussions quickly turned to arguments. Duke Lawrence demanded her for one of his sons, Queen Charlotte wanted her to marry her second son Ferris. But the King and Queen were content with neither, nor with any of the hundreds of hedge knights who came offering everything they owned. Nothing was good enough for their precious daughter. But then one night, one knight killed another and chaos ensued. The larger provinces and countries followed suit, offering vicious threats instead of wondrous gifts. Fearing for the safety of their daughter, the King and Queen sent her away in the middle of the knight on her own horse, dressed as a peasant, and claimed she had died of a fever. The rumour lasted about a year, but by then nobody but the King and Queen- who had received a single letter from their daughter announcing her safety- knew where she was.

Many of the Haven families were willing to take Angelica under their wing, but the one who was most insistent was the baker Tiberius. His own daughter had moved out and he claimed he was lonely and needed a girl to run the shop, since Coco, his granddaughter, was still too young. Angelica (now Alfie) found she enjoyed it, that her rhetoric and mathematics came into good use with customers, and she even became quite a reasonable baker. She also found a sister unlike the ones she knew at home in Coco, and the two have grown very close.

A few months ago, the news came that her parents had been killed in the battles raging over her. She cried for three days straight.

Skills: Alfie can sew and draw very well. She's quite a good baker, though not as good as Coco - although she never burns anything. She's quite physically strong from doing a lot of labour around the bakery and Haven. She's a very good rider. Alfie also managed to get her hands on a book about medicinal herbs, and with the help of Haven's apothecary, has been teaching herself how to make medicines. She likes learning this more than anything else she has learnt in her entire life.

Other: The only thing she has left of her past life is her horse, a mare called Mercy. The people of Haven always comment on how an orphan girl got her hands on such a good horse. Mercy is older now but still very fast and Alfie loves her as much as she loves any human.
