I smiled. Finally, one of the two had caved in. In my experience, when a question like that was asked, the game was already half-way done. "Simple, really," I assured. "All I need is for the children to pick up a certain artifact of mine..."
"Please," I implored. "If my calculations are correct, the artifact would be perfectly harmless" I continued, carefully. "It would prove your children are the ones the legend speaks of. But it is located in my realm in the Spirit World. A journey there is best taken in the daylight."
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "It would be perfectly safe," I promised. "We'd get there via my private jet, then to the island where the artifact is housed by boat. No risk whatsoever."
"Of course," I said, smoothly. "This is an unseemly hour. But I do beg that you call me tomorrow. This is, I repeat, of utmost importance." I half-bowed respectfully and made my way out.
I shake my head, giving him the silent treatment, and pick Riley up, Bringing her to the couch. I sit down and start her hair again, it being easier this way.
All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie-dust!
