Spencer Mitchell-Van

We are guided outside. The sun is blinding, but its warmth is amazing. If this will be my last day alive, I'm glad I got to experience this outdoor wonderland. I wish I could stay here forever, right in this moment, free. But of course, Blade wont allow that. He forces us into a large van and locks us in before clombing in himself. When Tabbitha siggests he just kills us, since none of us are going to do as he says anyway, he laighs before telling is that he said the same thing when he was in our position. If he was once where we are, why would he join their side? Why does he put us through this? I ponder this while we ride in the van, but it comes to a stop in the middle of a snall town. Its quite a sight really, although anything is when youve lived in a cell your whole life. He shoves us out of the van and reminds us of our mission. We all look at each other confirming that the plan is still in action.

Daniel - In the van

We are taken outside. The glorious outdoors! I don't know if I'll ever get used to it - the sun, the colours. Then we are shoved in a van and it all disappears.
The engine rumbles to life and we start bumping away. We nod at each other, confirming the plan is still on, but then we sit in silence, each contemplating the immanent possibly of owr own demise. Like everyone else, I'm sure, thoughts are gnawing at my mind. I have no regard for my own life - anything was better than the life I've had, and will continue to have if I kidnap a kid. But to run, and endanger Auburn? I couldn't do that. All of a sudden, another part of my brain piped up. Why's she so special? I've known her for a few days, no longer than anyone else? What's she got on any of the other girls? She's beautiful, that's what. But that still doesn't mean I love her. But I still do!
I take a deep breath and start looking objectively at the situation. I have two options: run, or kidnap a kid. As far as I know, the others are running anyway, so either way both Auburn and I have a pretty big chance of dying. If I do kidnap a kid, and if I don't die, not only would I be stuck in Blade's "care" for the rest of my life, but so would this child. I don't see how any of that's a good thing. If I run, I'll either get free or die trying. That sounds much better. My mind now at peace, I look over at Auburn. With her pretty face in my mind, I nodd off to sleep.
The van stops, waking me up. The door was flung open from the outside, letting brilliant sunlight in. I squint into it, and as my eyes adjust I see a town in the distance. Blade orders us out of the van.
