The Moosehead Tavern [2]

I smile a thanks to Kalen and walk back over to Jace. I look over at him. "Sorry about that. As I was saying..." I smiled, "Are you okay?"

Jace smiles, even if it feels slightly fake to him, and nods.
"I'm just thinking." He replies lightly.

I shrug, "About what?" I said leaning against a table.

"About...the last time we were here." He says, looking back at the kids. "About what happened."

Kelly Myers

Thunder cracks out, the lights go out power is all but gone.

"Oh wonderful, first time in forever the power goes out around here." I said.

I bit my lip, "Don't think about that." I said grabbing his hand. "We don't have time for that." As soon as I said that the lights went out. The kids started crying and I put my head back exaustion. I picked up Logan to try and calm him down.

Jace doesn't respond to Rayah's last comment, almost numbly scooping up Riley in his arms and consoling her. Kalen stays by his side, Joseph and Sai watching, as if he sensed what was going on inside of Jace.

"Not me this time." I said raising my hands up innocently.

"I'll go check on the generator." Andrew said.

I nod as he walks off.

I looked over at Jace and he looked kinda sad. I walked over to him. "I'll take care of it." I said taking Riley from him and setting both toddlers on my lap at a table.

Jace sighs and walks back over to Rayah.
"Don't take pity on me, please." He smiles, offering to take one of the twins. "I need to occupy my mind right now."

I look over at Jace, "You need some time from a whining kid," I shake my head at him smiling. "Just let me take care of it for now."

"So those are the famous twins I propheized about?" I said looking at Rayah.

Sighing, Jace sits down and looks at Kelly, who is claiming her innocence in the light matter. She comes over and asks about the twins.

I nodded, "Yep. This is Riley and this is Logan." Riley giggles and hides her face in my hair again. "C'mon." I said looking down at her.

I hoped off the counter and walked up to Rayah hugging her.

"Congrats on the twins." I said.
