The Moosehead Tavern [2]

Jace laughs at Kelly before remembering Joseph and Sai are still sleeping.

I shot Kelly a look and stood up, leaning against the wall. I took my phone out from my back pocket and looked through all the pictures of me and Jace.

Jace watches Rayah leave and sighs.
"Baby, come back." I say. "No need to put the world between us."

I look over at Jace and shake my head, glaring at Kelly. Hoping he'll get what I'm saying.

Sighing, Jace looks back at Kelly, finding Kalen on the way to falling off the table.

I ran after Kalen, Him about to fall off the table. I pick him up so he's safe in my arms. I shift him to one arm and look at Kelly. "Really?"

"Huh?" I snap coming to from a day dream.

I had been day dreaming, again these two reminded me so much of Andrew for some reason, I pinched between my eyes in stress.

I sat Kalen down by his father. I walked back over to Kelly. "You know, If you didn't like the idea of me and Jace you could've just said it." I said smiling. "Or does it bring back someone else?" I rested my arms on the table, she looks up at me and I grin. "C'mon tell me."

I couldn't believe what she was asking, me to bare my soul to her and talk about the only mortal that treated me right after picking up my mark. I looked at my hand and saw my mark, the same mark that made into what I am today.

"It's a long story." I said still looking at my hand.

I shrugged. "Fine, don't tell me. But if you decide otherwise I'm always here to listen."

I get out of the chair and sit down next to Jace again, not wanting to touch him or get Kelly all worked up again.

I continued to stare at the mark on my hand.

"It's back when I first got this mark, when I first found out I was a vampire." I said in a dreamy tone.

I"I had been marked by a tracker vampire and then was disowned by my mother and father, my brothers and sisters distance themselves from me. But only one mortal treated me right even after he knew of my mark." I said

I couldn't believe what I was doing I was telling my lifes story to this girl I barely knew.

I leaned towards her in my chair. "I know how you feel..." I said looking at her. "Same thing happened when I turned Immortal."

I nodded in agreement.

"He treated me right, he treated me kindly with friendship, and now seeing you and Jace being together brings back memories of him. Maybe it's because of the last talk we had, before I set out to the House of Night." I said looking at Rayah.

I looked up at her. "That guy that I used to date about um..I think it was about four months ago played me. But he acted like he understood me. He broke my heart." I said studdering at the very sentence. I hoped Jace didn't hear that. That would be awkward...

I nodded in agreement.

"It's funny in a way to highly powerful beings in the same place for hours an no monsters. its strange to say the least." I said.
