Valentino's [3]

Katie makes me stand and I wobble a little in the heels.

"It's okay. You'll get used to it." She encourages. She makes me walk around the room and I fall a couple times until I get the hang of it.

"Are you sure this isn't too much? I've never worn this much...Girl stuff." I chuckled, taking the heels off. Jesse walks over and gives me a diamond necklace that my mom used at her wedding. My eyes widened when I saw it and she put it around my neck, pushing away the curls.

"Why did you sleep in?" She sighs, fixing my hair.

I shrug, "I just forgot."

She nods. "You have an hour until guests arrive. Remember. You can't see Jace yet."

I sigh and curse, putting the heels back on and practicing to walk around in them again.

Jace looks at himself in the mirror, fixing his hair to match Rayah's liking. Nic takes something from his coat and hands it to Jace.
"Ma always said she wanted us to wear this to our weddings." He says, attaching it to Jace's wrist. "It was her father's, not ours."

I look at Jesse, wanting to see Jace so darn bad. "C-Can I just see him for five minutes? Please?"

She shakes her head, "No, Rayah."

I pout. "Plleaasseee."

She sighs and motions me off. "Fine. Whatever."

I flash a smile and take off the heels, walking out and knocking on Jace's door.

There's a knock at the door while Jace admires the cuff-link. Nic leaves to go get it, opening it to see Rayah.
"Uh...you aren't supposed to be here, are you?" He asks.

"You owe me." I said, setting a hand on my stomach, still in the dress. "Just let me talk to him for five minutes."

Nic glances away and grabs a blanket from the couch, handing it to her. "Not in the dress."

"Why?" I ask, crossing my arms, not taking it.

"Bad luck." He replies, sighing. "You don't have to take off the dress or anything, just make sure he doesn't see you in it."

I sigh and take the blanket, wrapping it around me. "Tell him to meet me in the Hall." I say, walking away and leaning against the wall in walkway.

Nic nods and walks back to Jace. "Take off your blazer. Rayah wants to talk to you in the hall."
Jace studies him before removing his coat and heading out there.

He walks out and I cross my arms, my makeup and hair still done. "Hey." I say with a smile.

He flashes a smile, closing the door behind him. "What's up?"

I shrug "Um, Guests should be getting here in about an hour and I'm scared to death. Katie made me look like a princess, I have to learn to walk in high heels..." I sighed. "What about you?"

He flashes a smile and brushes his hand across her cheek. "You'll be fine. Just keep breathing, alright? You'll be walking to me. That shouldn't be too hard."

I nod and take a deep breath, closing my eyes and the opening them again. "Thanks."
