Name: Kiriath Arban
Gender: Male
Age: 16

Appearance: Not muscular, almost lanky build. Big grey eyes that always look a little like he’s going to cry, very light brown hair that has a tinge of grey. His signature armor color is a rusty red. When he’s not wearing armor he defaults to his rust-colored cloak, though he always keeps the hood down. Ever since he touched the gem, he’s had a small stripe/triangle mark under each of his eyes. It is also a faded red. He usually wears ankle and wrist braces, which look like white bandages.

Personality: His silence is often taken as meekness or shyness, and his eyes never betray his emotions. They most always look a little sorrowful, even when he’s at his happiest. He doesn’t like to talk much, explained later.

Strengths: He can mislead people to think him weak, he is quick with his feet (his main form of attack is lower body strikes), and his heart on the right side of his body, instead of the left. Has very good balance.

Weaknesses: He’s bad at initiating friendships if the person doesn’t really need him, he’s better at close combat so he needs comrades to cover long-distance attacks, his right leg is weaker than his left, and he doesn’t wear as much armor on his legs to give him more mobility, but this also makes him more vulnerable.

Likes/Dislikes: dislikes talking, likes apples, dislikes hot and muggy days, doesn’t like hugging people but loves the comfort of sitting close in a group (will tend to fall asleep leaning on a random person)

Weapon: Wears milky brown opal blades attached to his shins, which damage the opponent when he kicks them. Since Opal knights are said to become priests more often than not, he can use different charms, usually accompanied by a piece of scripture.

History: His family is pretty functional. His mother is a recovering alcoholic, and sometimes he has to listen to her and his father bicker, but overall his family life is exceptional. He’s afraid to drink alchohol, though, given his family’s long line of issues. He doesn’t like to talk much, due to the fact that when he was younger, he never seemed to say anything right. He’s lost some friends from the things he’s said, and now he prefers to keep quiet whenever possible. Mostly a loner, but just like the city in the Bible that he was named after, he is a refuge for lost souls. He will accept anyone who makes an effort to get close to him, although that doesn’t mean he’ll talk. It’s a hard situation, though, because most people assume their attempts were useless because he doesn’t respond in words. He’ll pay back the kindness later, though.

Up for love: He’s hard to please. He’s heterosexual, but he would only be looking for a best friend (he isn’t in to the whole ‘romance’ thing) and she would have to be a very down-to-earth girl, not too hyper or peppy.

Other: He has a little light brown rat that's his buddy. The rat's name is Opal.
Oh, I wish I was punk-rocker with flowers in my hair.

Name: Terrance Donovan
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Appearance: Terrance has almost childlike looks. He is slender, and about six feet tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Terrance is usually happy-go-luckywith an over-active imagination, but can be very protective. He's into video games like Skyrim and Minecraft, and really enjoys reading. He dislikes loud noises and green vegetables. Terrance is rather curious, but as they say, "Curiosity killed the cat." He also has some seperation anxiety issues.
Weapon: A Japenese katana is his weapon of choice. It has a long, narrow, curved blade, and a brown handle with gold diamond shapes.
History: Terrance has lived in a sunny lakeside cottage with his mother ever since he could remember. His mother never mentioned his father, and when he asks she avoids the question. other than that, he lived a fairly happy life, if a bit lacking in companionship from his rural location.
Up for love: Yay. Straight, considering the diamond knights' traditional views on marriage.

All approved profiles after today must be posted in the DT. As for all active players, let the story begin.

Angelus Pacis | Realm of Knights (His chamber in the castle)

I looked into the Grey Crystal, watching the chosen rookies who were in the training grounds, struggling to listen to their predecessors. One of the Opal rookies- Terrance, as the Crystal explained to me- was lost in his own world at the moment. I shook my head and thought, One of these days, I'll make a man out of that boy. Why did the Slave Gemstones choose children as their Knights? This is supposed to be adult work, but children are a very different tale indeed. Why do I even bother babysitting? I switched my focus from the rookies to Nabaat. Nowhere in the Realm of Knights, but hidden somewhere in the modern world. No doubt the Black Pearl was protecting its mistress from my prying eye, like the Grey Crystal protected me from Nabaat's eye and the Crystal itself from theives. I sighed, put on my hood, and went to the training grounds to watch the rookies either make fools out of themselves or impress me.

Nabaat Graveborn - High Atop The Castle

I stood atop the castle overlooking the arena in which the slave gemstones have picked there new master's. My lips forming a smile at the new pursers that I had, of course I would not be beaten very easy, there predecessors would know that. I had done battle with them many times before, and each time in there attempt to capture me, they had failed. But it was time to vist an old friend of mine. I had moved though the casle quietly to ensure that I did not disturb the servants from there duties, the castle itself was old looking, but something you were see from mid evil times in the modern world. The halls were lined with suits of armor from the knights long before, tapastries of kings and queens and there families from long before. But before long I reached the tower door that lead to Angelus Pacis' room. I adjusted my glasses slightly and walked in just to see my friend covered in his usasl robes, he didn't notice me come in.

"How long has it been since we last talked together Angelus? Two years if I recall correctly?" I say in my sweetest voice.

Angelus Pacis | Castle (His chamber)

I sighed. Nabaat was there, possibly behind me. "Those years felt like an eternity here in the Realm of Knights. I tried to check on you with the Grey Crystal, but it took that trial to remind myself that the Black Pearl and Grey Crystal are opposite forces which protect their holders from prying eyes. One of the advantages we have against the Slave Gemstones. However, you know for a fact that we were once friends before I became this generation's Master Knight. Those days were humble days, all those times I took the blame for all your mistakes and took harsher punishments than I could handle. I was honorable enough to take the blame and you hardly returned the favor. I lived up to my title as an Emerald Knight and my prodecessor passed the Crystal to me even after you and I succeeded to defeat him together. Why he chose me instead of you is a mystery to me, but it's clear to me that you've been taken into the Darkness of which the Black Pearl is the embodiment of.
"But enough of me. How have you been since we last met? Memory serves you almost had me by the horns when I combined the Crystal with the Emerald and Amethyst to make a last-ditch attempt to keep myself alive. You left me with a scar that I have to live with whenever I enter the modern world."

Nabaat Graveborn

I gave a small chukle, I leaned against the window looking out over the arena seeing the new knight's working hard to master there new gemstones. The arena itself was built like a roman collasium, and the tower was high up enough for the tower to see everyone down below.

"And to think if you hadn't Angelus, I would be holding both the Gray Crystal and the Black Pearl. But I'm sure you realise by now, I'm here to talk as friends. I've grown tired of the modern world, those there simply pose no threat to me, thus no challenge. All tho I do remember the days of old when we trained together, laughed together, how back then I had declared my love for you. Oh how I miss those days. But now I return for another battle, one that'll decide the true master knight of this generation." I said as he slowly rose to his feet to look at me.

I looked at Angelus, I saw both sadness and despair at my words.

Angelus Pacis

I took my hood off, my heart aching at her words. Yes she declared her love to me, but it was in front of our fellow Knights and I was told by the Diamond Knights of that generation that she wasn't right for me. "You break my heart, Nabaat. Those days were the glory days of our lives, but that one moment you announced your love to me had the Diamond Knights of our generation telling me constantly that you were not worthy of my heart. I've given you the benefit of a doubt even after I defeated you with the combined power of the Grey Crystal and two Slave Gems." I clenched my fist, feeling the power of Grey Crystal course through me. "I don't want to hurt you. For the sake of the gods, abandon the Black Pearl and look at the damage you've done to me the last time we crossed daggers. When you almost defeated me, you were close to plunging me into the same Darkness that engulfed you. I can't let you do that to me. I won't allow it." It pained me inside to do it, but I had no choice. Using the dagger I had, I merged it with the Grey Crystal with the power of the Diamond and Emerald, then took a Celestial Cut at Nabaat, feeling emotionally pained from the deepest depths of my heart. Although I never told her, deep down I felt the same love she felt for me.

Nabaat Graveborn - Emotion's Rising

"Damn the diamond knights! Damn them! I had defeated them in battle, I had defeated all the knights in battle. And yet they say I'm unworthy?! What do I have to prove that I am worthy of your love." I said.

A tear had rolled down the side of my face, my heart ached to be loved by Angelus. How badly I wanted to be loved by him, yet the diamond knights knew nothing of what love was. A rare truth it was for one knight of light to love one of darkness, maybe they declared this because they saw I could use the Black Pearl and believed the light and darkness could never co-exsit together. I cared not. I needed the power of the Black Pearl to defeat the other gemstone knights.

"Angelus, ignore the diamond knights. Love me without worry of there word please." I pleaded.

Angelus Pacis

I tried to focus and look tough, but I knew her words were true. Diamond Knights were traditionalists in the terms of marriage, not true love. My heart ached more, weakening me. Ever since she declared her love for me, I tried everything to do the same for her, but I kept it to myself because none of those times felt right. When I was chosen as the next Master Knight, I wanted to take my chance to declare my love to her. However, when I had that chance, it was too late to stop her from taking the Black Pearl. I still wanted to give her the chance to know I was in love with her, but it would tarnish my reputation as a Master Knight. Many Master Knights before me were wed to Amethyst or Topaz Knights, never a Dark Knight. If I were wed to Nabaat, I'd be the first to take a Dark Knight as a bride. How could I let my reputation get in the way of my feelings? I once was a strong Emerald Knight, but now a firm Master Knight and I'd be damned if I didn't do what was right. "I tried to, but they pressured me to the point where they turned my heart into stone. I know we've been friends and comrades, but now times have changed. I beg of you this one last time to abandon the Black Pearl before it swallows you whole. There's still a part of you that has Light within. I know it's there and I can almost hear it crying for help. If you love me now as you did back at our glory days, then forsake the Darkness of the Black Pearl and embrace the Light of your former Knighthood. You don't have to fight me."

Nabaat Graveborn - Eruption

Tears rolled down my face with Angelus' words, the pain of them seeped into my heart the pain almost to much to bear, I wanted to cry my eyes out right there and then plead to Angelus to forget his reputation as Master Knight, take me on as his bride. I wanted him to love me so badly my heart pounded for him.

"Forsake Angelus, for if he truely loved you he would ask nothing of you." The Black Pearl whispered in my head.

"Forsake him." It whispered.

In my moment of weakness I grabbed for my blade and pulled it from my back and slammed it between me and Angelus only to call out one of the Black Pearl's many power's.

"BLACK EXPLOSION!" I yelled.

Angelus Pacis

Even with the Grey Crystal's power shielding me, I was blown off my feet and up against the wall. The sword on my back felt hard against me. My heart broke into countless pieces as I felt pain. The Black Pearl was too corrupt to penetrate for Nabaat to realize I was pleading with her out of love. My heart was too broken for me to speak from it. I lost Nabaat to the Black Pearl. I lost the one I love to the Master Gemstone of Darkness and it looked like I would never have her in my arms as I often wished these past two years.
"Don't give up on her," the Crystal whispered. "Don't give up. Have faith in the Light. Darkness will not hold her forever. Light will always find a way to free her. You know she loves you and you love her, so don't give up. Keep hold of the Light you know is still within the one you love."
I took a breath, drew my dagger, and looked at Nabaat straight in the eye. Her tears were visible to me and I knew I was bound to cry sooner or later. Without a word, I cut a straight line through the air, making a portal to the modern world. I pushed her in and watched the portal quickly seal itself. I lowered my voice, put my dagger away, and whispered sadly, "I'm so sorry, Nabaat. I love you too much to kill you. I can't kill you because I love you." I knew I was alone in my room, so I put my hood up and watched the rookies from out the window, privately crying because I lost Nabaat to the Black Pearl when I could've saved her by telling her I loved her long ago.

Terrance Donovan | Trainging arena

My feet kicked up the dust from the arena floor as I danced in mock battle with my invisible foes. I twirled the training sword in front of me, imagining all the evil I would be fighting, as soon as I was no longer a rookie. I spun around, striking to the left, to the right -- and the wooden "blade" hit me in the forehead. "Owch," I said, holding my hand over the spot. I was glad that wasn't my real sword.
Glancing up, I noticed that the others had long ago moved on to training with their gemstones. I hurried over to lay my training sword on the rack, and went back to the group, where I joined my fellow diamond knight. "Are you ok?" she asked, gesturing subtley to the red mark on my forehead.
"I'm fine," I grinned. "What are we supposed to be doing?" I looked at the other ten rookies, scattered around the field.
"Practicing our gemstone attacks," said my partner. I dug the diamond out of my satchel and the two of us put our hands on it. "Now focus," she said. "We're going to work on White Flash."
We closed our eyes. Even though I couldn't see it, I knew the diamond had started to glow. Power flooded through my body. I loved the feeling of energy I got from this crystal. I drew a breath. Just as I was about to utter the words that would ignite the spell, I heard an explosion coming from the castle that shattered my concentration and piqued my curiosity. I put the diamond back in its place and took off towards the castle. I hearded my partner sigh in exasperation.

Inside the castle, I paused to gaze around the entry hall. The grandeur of this room took my breath away, but, I reminded myself, there was something else I was looking for. I slipped my hand into the satchel and grasped the diamond. Following instinct - or something - I found myself by Angelus's room. I crept silently up to the door, and nudged it carefully. It creaked, and I winced. I sensed a portal had been opened here recently. "Angelus?" I said tenatively, attempting to keep my insatiable curious energy suppressed. "Um, sir? Is - is everything ok?"

Everything has to be taken on trust; truth is only that which is taken to be true. It's the currency of living. There may be nothing behind it, but it doesn't make any difference so long as it is honoured. One acts on assumptions. What do you assume?
