He walked over and hugged her, kissing her. "I love you Lis," he whispered to her.

She loves how his voice makes her shudder in a way she'll never understand. "I love you too." She whispers back, returning the hug and kiss with a smile.

There was a loud smashing sound followed by some screaming, like it was coming from a girl. Then the muffled sound of a man's voice yelling. Alex rushed into the cafe from the kitchen to find a man wearing black with a mask holding a fun and pointing it at the customers. One of Alex's workers lay on the floor splintered with glass. Alex's other worker was standing above her. She didn't look dead, just unconscious. The man pointed the gun towards Alex and he stared screaming. "STAY STILL! Don't move! I smashed that little girl up over there, I can do it to you!" Alex knew the safety of his customers reigned above all else, so he made the desicion to put them before anything. "Okay, okay. What do you want? Money? Food? Water?" Alex asked. The man dropped his gun and ran at Alex, before jumping out and punching him square in the face. Alex lay sprawled along the cold tiled floor as the man looked around surveying the rest of the place.
There is no such thing as a stranger. Only friends we haven't met yet.
He slipped into the back door quietly, as he saw the man. His hand slid into his jacket pocket and he withdrew a knife. He quietly moved till he was behind him. Placing the knife against the man's throat. "Stay still, or I will slit your throat," he threatened. The man was shocked by the sudden threat and froze in his place. Arah pulled out rope out of another pocket and tied it around his wrists. Arah pushed him down to the ground and grimaced when he saw Lis on the ground unconscious.

It'd happened so quickly... A moan escapes her lips as Lis stirs, her eyes slowly opening. Arah is above her, his eyes pinched in worry, but she doesn't understand why. Her head throbs, prickles of pain sparking around the back. "W-what happened?" She whispers.

"Some guy broke in while I was taking out the trash," he told her, helping her up. He hugged her, unable to think what he would do if she would've died.

Arah pulls her into a hug and she stops thinking, breathing in his warmth. "B-but me...why was I asleep?" She asks, realizing she's on the floor. "And why am I on the ground?"

"I think he attacked you," he whispered, his voice shaky.

Arah looked around seeing customers and then he saw Alex on the floor. He gently sat Lis in a chair before rushing to Alex. He knelt beside him and checked him over for wounds. He saw a simple nosebleed and a bruise that was forming. He stood up, went to the kitchen, got a glass of water, returned to Alex's side, and dumped it on his face, waking him up.

It had been weeks since he had been to the cafe. He was hoping Lis was still there. As he walked into the cafe, he didn't see her. When he went over to their table, he still didn't see her. He was frowning on the outside, but crying on the inside.

So much had happened... Lis walks back to the corner of the cafe, nostalgic at the sight. Her arms cross over her torso, clutching it as a small enferno flares again, and she heads for the door, wondering if anyone would be there. She catches sight of Arah sitting at their table and her heart stops in her throat, flashing a smile.

"Lis!" Arah shouted at the sight of her. He looked around noticing that people were staring at him, causing him to blush. He stood up and hurried over to her. He hugged her, a tear sliding down his face. "I missed you," he said.

At the sight of Arah's tears, Lis wells up as well, hugging him back. She closes her eyes and squeezes him, so happy to see him. "I missed you too." She whispers, ignoring the pain in her chest. "So much."
