I was put in a small room with olive green wall and a table with two chairs at the center. Ididn't like the cop being in there with me even though he was just removing my hand cuffs, it made me feel all giddy. i guess it was due to past desturbing memories. he left after setting my hands free and i relaxed taking a seat at the chair to the farthest end from the door. "Great, just great. 16 and i already have a criminal record." i muttered to myself pounding my fist into the table. thats when the police officer walked in again. I tensed again as he took the seat on the other side of the table. i couldn't help but eye him. he looked up at me and seemed to jot something down, "Tell me about your relationship to Mr. laurence." he said still writing something down before looking up at me. "um...He took us in and raised us like his own kids." i said a little unsure at how to answer that question. he looked at me as if expecting more," Mr. laurence taught us a lot of school stuff that we missed out on. he forgave us for when we first saw him and tried to rob him." i shook my head in shame ,"We were just hungry..." my voice trailed off. There was no excuse that made it any less better. i didn't like talking aout mr. laurence when he wasn't there. the thought of never seeing him again or the fact that i never thanked him for his hospitality made tears well up in my eyes , but i held them back. As if reading my mind the police officer changed the topic, "you're quite the fighter aren't you. I have reports of you beating up boys in your school." he said. i shrugged, i wasn't big on boasting , "Well the had it coming for them, picking a bone with me is not what you want to do. and they also bother Cassie so i couldn't hold back."
