I will not be here for a few days. Continue without me.

Becky

An unfamiliar voice called for a meeting, and we all filed downstairs. We were silently instructed to sit around a large round table, and everyone quickly obligied.

Oscar pulled out a chair beside his own, and I gudgingly accepted the offer. As soon as we were both seated, I felt a gentle hand on my knee. I dug my fingers into his skin, and he jerked it back. I smiled with satisfaction.

Another new face, a man with short light brown hair and a grim smile leaned on a chair. He was the only one standing, and I realized he was the leader of the gang. That surpirsed me, though I saw the logic in it.

He cleared his throat, "First of all, I'd like to welcome you." His voice was smooth, but lacking in emotion, "I'm sure you have read the mission breif, so I don't need to repeat it. I'd like to send a search party of four out tomorow to scope out what I believe might be a conncection of the guy we're hunting. Based on information I have recieved from all of you, I would like that group to be myself, Oscar, Sean, and Andrea. Any questions?"

Andréa

"Based on information I have recieved from all of you, I would like that group to be myself, Oscar, Sean, and Andrea. Any questions?"
Andréa shook her head along with the others. She looked over at Becky, frowning to herself. Her teammate and friend had been acting weird since they arrived. And what was with all the make up? she asked herself. She'd never seen Becky looking so... girly.

Then again, everyone in her team had something on their minds. Sean looked more than a little pissed off, and Con and Tyler were behaving awkwardly with each otherand themselves. The guy talking to us looked over at us and said that we could go. Becky went upstairs, and Sean went out to the back garden, pushing the door with more force than necessary. Tyler and Con split up too, and Con went to the guy's bedroom while Tyler followed Becky.

She looked at her friends' retreating backs and felt a little confused. Tyler and Con first came to mind. However, she shook her head, knowing that that particular problem needed to work itself out. Becky would be alright, Tyler had gone after her. Besides, she was sure that the girl wouldn't talk to her even if she tried. That left Sean. She sighed followed him out into the garden.

"Hey." She said, sitting down next to him. He rubbed his temples with his fingers and looked at her. "What do you want now Andy?"
"To talk."
"About what?" he asked, grinding his teeth in frustration.
"You, Becky. And maybe I know where you're coming from. I've seen the way she acts around Oscar. She still likes him, doesn't she? But you dislike him. I'm not sure if it's because you like her, or because he did something in the past.. Enlighten me?" she asked.

Sean's big argument with Oscar is going to happen after this so please don't finish the day guys, thanks :)

"About what?" I asked, grinding my teeth in frustration.

"You, Becky. And maybe I know where you're coming from. I've seen the way she acts around Oscar. She still likes him, doesn't she? But you dislike him. I'm not sure if it's because you like her, or because he did something in the past...Enlighten me?" she asked me.

I threw her a curious sideways glance. “You think she still likes him?”

She shrugged. “It explains why she’s acting so weird around him...”

“So, the whole … make-up thing …" I rubbed the side of my jaw uncomfortably, "d’you think that was just to impress him?”

“Well, duh!” Andy said, rolling her eyes. “Jesus, Phoenix, don’t you know anything about girls?”

I rose my brow in response. “It's been a while …”

She threw me a knowing look. “I’m not surprised. Anyway, you didn’t answer my question.”

“Which one was that?”

“Why do you hate Oscar so much?” she asked. “Is it because you like Becky, or is it because he did something to you in the past?”

“Obviously I like Becky," I responded, half-annoyed, "I’ve known her since-”

“That’s not what I meant,” Andy interrupted. “I meant do you like her, like her?”

I threw her a warning look. “We’re just friends. That‘s all.”

“Alright, alright," she responded, raising her hands in mock surrender. "So if it’s not that, then it means all this is down to Oscar. Are you going to tell me what he’s done to get you so mad?”

Just when I was about to respond, an uncomfortably familiar voice interrupted me.

“So you cover it up now, huh?” When I didn't respond, Oscar continued, pointing at the large plaster on the side of my neck. “Your tat…”

Andy shot up defensively, but I held her back. “It’s alright, Andy. Get inside.”

She threw me a confused look at first, but when she saw the look on my face, she decided to do what I said. Shew threw Oscar a dark frown before walking back into the house.

This happens very slightly before Sean's conversation with Andy and Oscar.

Becky

I stared at the pile of gum-wrapper paper cranes that I had surrounded myself in. God, I was pathetic. Why the hell had I even tried to dress up for Oscar. I didn't still like him. Did I? Could I?

There was a knock on the door. I hadn't noticed footsteps outside, "Who is it?"

"Me," Tyler opened the door. "I just wanted to grab my notebook. The guy running this place asked Con and I to run down to the local Troupe HQ and pick up a few files about the guy we're chasing. Kind of familiarize ourselves."

I looked up at her, "Do you have a thing for Con?"

She shrugged slightly, but didn't answer for a moment, "Yeah, I guess so."

I smiled at her, "I can't tell if he does for you, but I'll watch what I can. It'd be nice to see someone's relationship work out around here. Between all the blood, a little relief is nice sometimes."

A moment later, she left the room, and I stared again at the celiing. Maybe that was my problem. Maybe a little love wouldn't kill me.

"Knock knock," A grinning face entered the room, "Did you really have to claw my hand?"

"Do you have any idea what proffesionalism is?" I glared at him, hoping he'd get the message. He wasn't welcome here.

"Do you?" He walked closer to me, and gently ran the back of his hand across my face. He removed it a second later, and held it in the light that gently streamed from the window. "That's an awful lot of make-up, sweetheart."

"I was trying to apear a little more clean cut. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that." I took a step backand he made no move to come any closer.

"Of course you were. I suppose since I'm not welcome here, I'll leave. But, if you change your mind," he grinned at me, "my room's downstairs." I listened to his footsteps parade down the stairs, and then began to fold another wrapper into a tiny paper crane.

Argument is over guys. Feel free to end the day :D

“Feisty one, isn’t she?” said Oscar, watching Andy go with amusement. He turned back to face me once she was out of sight. “I didn’t know girls like that were you‘re type. As far as I can remember you were always a sucker for the shy ones ...”

The smirk on his face made my blood boil.

“Come on, Sean,” he chuckled, “don’t be like that.”

I said nothing and decided to head back into the house myself, brushing past him as I did so. I wasn’t in the mood to start something with Oscar. Deep down I knew it wasn’t even worth it.

“Seriously? You’re not even gonna speak to me?” he called after me. “We’re working together now, remember?”

I carried on walking back towards the house, but Oscar wasn’t about to give up that easy. He jogged on after me.

“Come on, Sean, what do I gotta do to make this right?”

And that was it. Something inside me just snapped. In an instant, I turned to face him with a deadly glare. “How about bringing those kids back?” I spat, as if daring him to say something to that. “Y’know, the ones you shot in cold blood with my handgun! Why don’t you do that for me, huh?”

He just threw me a look. “You know I can’t.”

“Tell me something,” I humoured him, “d’you even regret what you did?”

“It had to be done, alright? Mitch gave me the orders. I couldn’t just say no.” I let out a scoff, but he carried on. “You saw what he did to you when you tried to stop it ...”

“He broke my ribs and left me on the floor with those dead kids!” I barked. “And you just stood there!” He tried to respond but I really couldn’t hear anymore. “You know what, Oscar? You can try convincing everyone here that you’ve changed, but I know the truth. You’re still a piece of shit, you always were and you always will be, the only difference now is you wear a badge.”

“Is everything alright here, fellas?”

I turned to see the team leader standing right behind us, arms folded. “Officer Ryan asked me to keep an eye on the two of you. Are we going to have a problem here?” he frowned at me.

“Ask him,” was my only response. And with that, I threw Oscar one last look before stepping back into the house, my body shaking in anger.

Okay, I'm throwing in some action. Rated PG-13 for swearing on Becky's part.

Becky

Night crept near slowly. When it was an acceptable time to go to bed, I rolled under the covers, still dressed, and breathed myself to sleep.

THREE HOURS LATER

"Get up, hurry! Becky! Becky!" Sean was pressing a gun to my face, practically pulling me out of bed. Disoriented, I stood up quickly.

"Shit, Becky, we have to get out of here." Andrea was yelling. I saw her and Tyler rushing to grab guns off the table and run downstairs. Suddenly, my senses sharpened.

"What the hell's going on?" I demanded, then I heard a gunshot fire downstairs. "What the fuck?"

"A nine-0 gang decided they wanted to pay a little visit, no time to explain," I had previously been unaware of Charles in the room. I grabbed my gun from Sean's outstreched hand, and a pack of bullets.

"Get downstairs, go!" Charles was yelling, and we quickly obliged. I held my gun up, and turned around the corner, only to see the gang's leader bloody and shot on the floor.

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

"Oscar!" I looked around. Had he been shot too? Where was Sean?

A bullet whised past my face, and I sent a shot in that general direction. I realized I missed after a second, and shot another bullet. It hit the arm of the man, whose face I couldn't make out through the shadows of his hood.

He ran at me, throwing himself at me. I tried to balance countering his hits and throwing my own. Adreneline coursed throgh my body. Then I was suddenly tierd. Adreneline rush over.

I elbowed him across the face, then shot him while he lay on the ground.

This was more than a surprise attack. This was an ambush.

Andrea

Andrea shot up defensively on hearing the mention of Sean's tattoo, but Sean held her back. “It’s alright, Andy. Get inside.”

She threw her friend a confused look at first, but noticing the look on his face, she decided to do what he said. She threw Oscar a dark frown before walking back into the house.

By evening, the atmosphere in the house had gone from tense to thicker than cold custard. It was clear that something had transpired.Sean was so angry he could barely see straight, and it was clear that both Tyler and Becky were in a world of their own. Even Con was in a bad mood.

Andrea herself was pissed, feeling tired of her teammates reactions. None of the gang really went down dinner, and by the time bedtime rolled around, Becky had already fallen off to sleep, fully dressed.

On the floor, Tyler had managed to set up her bed and was almost asleep. Andrea, however, pulled out he gun and began taking it apart. She knew it like the back of her hand, and rearranging the pieces helped calm her after the tension-filled day.

Tyler looked at her, shrugged and went off to sleep. Two hours later found Andrea replacing the parts of the gun in their original positions with care. Though it was dark, she could see by the light of the moon streaming in through the open window, and by the small bedside lamp.

Outside, everything was still. That is, until she heard a crack, as if someone had stepped on a twig. Instantly alert, she hopped out, locking her gun quickly and silently, and turning off the lamp. She slid next to the window, and looked out.

The minute she peeked out, a bullet whizzed past her head, scraping her cheek. "Fuck." She got down and crawled over to the guys room, shaking Sean.
"Sean, get up, get up." she said, walking over to Con to do the same. She slapped him awake, and threw a gun to the now alert Sean.

"What's going on?" "We're being attacked. I think it's one of the 9-0's." "Shit."
Sean rushed across, back to the girl's room, as she went to the other bedroom, to wake the guys up. She found them awake, holding their guns. Charles pressed a finger to his lips, signalling her to be silent. She gave a single nod and turned her heel. She had just crossed the landing when the door swung open.
"Shit, Becky, we have to get out of here!"

The shots rained heavily as they took cover behind the walls. Andy had dived behind the stairwell, Sean and Becky were hiding behind the bedroom door, and neither Tyler nor Con could be seen. She could see Charles across the hall, and the leader of the other Cort gang was sprawled across the floor. He was breathing, but it was slow, and he was quite close to death.
"Hey Sean!" She called out between shots "Yeah?" "Get out the window!"
He stopped for a second and looked over at her. "Are you crazy??" "Most popular opinion. Just trust me!" she replied, taking down a scrawny Spanish guy with the tattoo across his neck.

Tyler

I was sleeping happily when suddenly a gun shot woke me up. Thinking that it was possible just a dream I was having, I turned on my side and closed my eyes. Suddenly, their was a shadow above me, dragging me out of bed. In my just woken up state, it took me a second to realize what was happening. Next thing I know, another person comes up behind him and rams him into the wall, stabbing him in the process. It was Con.

Now that I am fully awake, me brain starts to process and I realized what is happening. "You okay?" He asks as he walks over to me. Before I can respond, more gun shots are heard. Without saying anything, we both automatically go downstairs. I notice a guy shooting around a corner, coming up behind him, I quickly run my dagger under his chin. He goes down in seconds.

"We need to find the others." I state as he takes down another person. He nods in my direction indicating that he agreed. We then continued through the house, taking down some other people as we went.

One f-bomb here so I apologise in advance

Sean Phoenix

Gunshots were firing in all direction. I could barely think straight with all the noise and panic happening around me. I peeked through the door where Becky and I were still taking cover and saw Charles firing more shots as he made his way towards the stairs. Andy looked like she was following him. More shots were heard from below us but Tyler and Con were still nowhere to be seen.

“Jump out of the window,” I told Becky flatly, my face dead serious.

What?!” she snarled, her eyes wide as if I’d just asked her to give me her kidney or something. “I’m not-”

“Just do it!” I growled back in a tone that left no room for argument. With that, I charged up my gun and left Becky in the bedroom, slowly stepping out from behind the door and into the upstairs hallway. I needed to find Con and Tyler. But, more importantly, I needed to find Oscar.

Dodging bullets on my way out, I started opening random bedroom doors. Most were empty, but just as I approached the last one, the door opened and out came Con and Tyler.

My face formed an immediate frown. “Where the fuck have you two b-?”

Before I could finish my sentence, three hooded 9-0 members tackled us to the floor. I swung at the guy on top of me who went limp as my first made impact with his face. I looked up and saw that Con and Tyler had the advantage with their attackers. I returned to my attacker who was now bleeding from the mouth. It wasn’t until he let out a smile that I realised who he was.

“Damon?” I said, staring down at him, unable to believe my eyes.

“Surprised?” Damon Mercer, third in-charge of the 9-0 spat blood from his mouth before answering. “We told you we’d find you sooner or later …”

Con and Tyler, who had obviously finished dealing with their attackers came straight towards me. Con, thinking I was in trouble, pulled out his gun and aimed it at Damon’s head.

“No!” I stopped him. He looked back at me in confusion. “We need him alive,” I explained, still unable to believe what was happening.

“What? Why?” asked Tyler.

Curling my fist into a ball I knocked Damon out cold before responding, “It's obvious someone grassed us up to the 9-0. If we keep him alive we can find out who.”

The three of us stopped as Andy made her way back upstairs. “What are you guys still doing here?” she snapped, though most of her anger seemed to be directed at me for some reason “Charles and a few other guys are downstairs trying to buy us some time. We need to get out of here now!”

“Where's Oscar?” I asked her.

“Who cares about Oscar?” she shouted. “What part of ‘we need to get out of here’ don‘t you understand?!”

I apologize for the length. I haven't posted in a while and wanted to catch up.

Con

I'm peacefully asleep before hearing the gunshots. Jumping straight up, I pull my knife from my jacket on the floor and sneak out of the room, Sean only just waking. A figure slips into the girls' room and I chase after it, getting to the man just as he's pulling Tyler out of bed. I slam him against the wall and jam my knife into his stomach, not even hesitating.

I turn to face Tyler, walking to her.

"You okay?" I ask.

More gunshots fill the silence before she can respond and we bolt downstairs, taking down the first two we see.

"We need to find the others," she states as I finish mine.

I nod and lead her down the hallway, silently ending any threats before me. We walk through a door to find Sean aiming a gun at us. I lower my knife, waiting for him to do the same with the gun.

"What the fuck have you two b-?" He begins before we're tackled.

I elbow the face above me and grab him by the neck, flipping him over and finishing him off. Tyler does similar with her attacker while Sean punches the one above him. He smiles, looking at him.

"Damon?" he asks.

"Surprised? We told you we'd find you sooner or later..." The man spits.

I head over, pulling out my gun, and point it at the man's head.

"No!" Sean stops me. "We need him alive."

I send him a questioning look, confused.

"What? Why?" Tyler asks the questions circling my mind.

"It's obvious someone grassed us up to the 9-0. If we keep him alive, we can find out who," he explains, knocking the man out.

I study the situation, thinking, before lowering my gun. Day one working with another group and we already have a rat on our hands. How wonderful...

Andréa

Andréa made her way back upstairs and noticed Con, Tyler and Sean still standing there. Sean had a 9-0 member pinned to the floor, knocked out. Becky was nowhere in sight. Andréa had seen her earlier. She was already outside the house, trying to cover Charles' gang as they started to retreat. She'd been firing from one of the ground floor windows.

"What are you guys still doing here?” she snapped. “Charles and a few other guys are downstairs trying to buy us some time. We need to get out of here now!”
“Where's Oscar?” Sean asked her.

“Who cares about Oscar?” she shouted. “What part of 'we need to get out of here’ don‘t you understand?!” she asked, pissed. "And what part of 'trust me' makes you doubt me? Becky had the sense to get out! She's covering the other gang from the ground floor windows! Could you guys not have -" she was cut off by Tyler clamping a hand over her mouth.

"Can we please just get out of here?" asked Tyler. She looked at Andy, who looked back, absolutely furious. Suddenly, Tyler withdrew her hand, making a sound of disgust.
"You licked my hand!" she said. Andréa bounded up, grinning.
"And now I feel better than I have the entire day. I think that's enough payback. Let's go." She bounded across the room and pushed open the window. Sean, Con and Tyler followed, all looking equally disgusted; Tyler trying to wipe off the spit.

Once the window was raised at a suitable height, she looked out.
"I'll cover you guys from here. Jump down, and help Becky cover the second gang as they retreat. I'll be last out." They looked at her, blank.
"Why can't one of us stay?" asked Tyler.
"Stop arguing, just go!" she replied.
"No, give us a good reason, Andy" Sean countered. She looked at her teammates and said, "Fine. Sean, you and Becky have too much history with the 9-0 gang. You guys are out, if only because I think they're going to drag you back with them. Con's ankle is still hurt, and the only medic we have in both groups is Tyler. I'm not hurt, I think I can handle myself in a fight, and I'm not half as important as any of you or Becky! So just go, please, before we all die."

Con and Tyler looked at each other, surprised, and Sean looked thoughtful - till a bullet hit the windowpane behind Andy, knocking it out. "Charles came up with this, Sean, please. Just go, guys."
Tyler looked at her and nodded. She jumped out first, followed by Con. He looked back at Sean, asking,"You coming?"
"Go on, I'll catch up."

When he'd gone, Andy said,"Once you get down, make sure everyone except Charles is there. If Oscar isn't there, leave it and just go. Head to the Flswatter Motel at the edge of town - the owner knows Charles. I'll get him and meet you guys there later. Take this guy with you." she nodded to Damon, sprawled on the floor. "Oh, and don't break any bones on your way down!" she called out behind her, smirking as she ran out of the room.

Becky

The night was chaos. I had long since ran out of bullets and abandoned my gun, resorting to fist fighting.

I felt someone grab my arm, and realized before I threw the punch that it was Sean. I almost wondered how the touch was so familiar, but my racing mind didn't process the question. He pulled me towards a small van, where I found Tyler, Con, Sean, and another member (Phillip, maybe?) of the other Cort gang.

I could feel myself shaking, but I didn't care. And not until we were in a large motel room did questions begin to form in my mind.

Where was Andrea? Who was the guy Sean was carrying? What happened to Oscar?

I decided the first was most important, "Wheres Andrea?" I looked at Sean specifically, but Tyler answered.

"She stayed behind."

"And you let her?" I demanded, standing up suddenly from where I had been sitting on the edge of the bed.

"She volunteered." Con seemed almost sad.

Another question shot through my mind; "Did we loose anyone?"

Phillip quickly explained the dead count. His own leader. And most of the members of the other gang. "And Oscar's missing."

I tried to keep my raging emotions off my face. I had to stay calm, even if I felt like shooting something. "Does Andrea know where we are?"

"She told us to come here," Sean replied, and I looked over at him, "Since when do you follow orders?" I realized suddenly the implications of what I had said, "That's not what I meant, Sean, sorry."

He didn't respond, and I felt regret rise in my throat.

After a long moment, I stood up; "I'm going back for Andrea and Oscar. Would anyone like to join me?" I had asked the question generally, but I knew who I wanted to volunteer. For some reason, I wanted Sean by my side.

I'm soooo sorry for the length, guys, it's just there was a lot I needed to get in.

Sean Phoenix

“I’m going back for Andrea and Oscar …”

As soon as Becky said those words, I could feel my blood reaching boiling point. Andrea I could understand but Oscar?

“Would anyone like to join me?”

She’d asked the question generally, but it still didn’t make it any easier to hear. I gritted my teeth, literally clamping my jaw shut to try and stop myself from saying something I’d later regret. Instead, I tried to focus on Damon who was still passed out on one of the three beds in the motel room. I stared at him hard, like I was daring him to wake up and try to attack me again. The last time I’d seen him was the night the three kids were shot. Damon had been the one that kidnapped them in the first place. Another spark of anger flashed through me as that night played itself in my head once again.

The basement. The kids. The shots. The screams.

The silence.

“Sean!”

Tyler’s voice and the sound of a door slamming brought me back down to earth and I turned to face her only to see she had a major pissed off look on her face. “Why didn’t you go with Becky?” she snapped.

I blinked before looking around the motel room. Sure enough, Becky was nowhere to be seen. The others were looking back at me with equally pissed off expressions. I shot them all a dark look. “Why didn’t any of you guys go with her?”

Tyler rolled her eyes and practically growled in frustration. “Oh my god, Sean, you are so clueless it‘s actually unbelievable! Don’t you get it? She wanted you to volunteer!”

It was my turn to get frustrated. “Why? So I could help her rescue Oscar? That ass-hole was probably the one who set this whole thing up in the first place!”

“Maybe he did!” retorted Tyler. “But that’s all the more reason why you should be out there helping Becky to look for him!”

Con nodded in agreement. “She’s right. I mean, if Oscar’s capable of doing something like this, he’s pretty much capable of doing anything. If I were you, I wouldn’t want Becky out there looking for him all on her own. Imagine if she found him … what if he tries to hurt her?”

“She needs you, Sean,” said Tyler, her tone of voice softened a little, “Andy needs you …”

I let out a deep sigh and wiped a hand down my face. I knew they were both right, but it still didn’t change how I felt about the whole thing. Nevertheless, I reloaded my gun and grabbed some extra bullets.

“Don’t let him out of your sight,” I instructed Tyler, signalling my finger towards Damon. “Cuff him to the bedpost if you have to.”

And with that, I walked out of the motel room just in time to see Becky charging out of the main lobby.
