Hey guys, Setting: The whole team is at the edge of the forest. Carry on from there I won't be able to be online for a little while.
He stumbled slightly, the limp in his leg still there. He dared not to look at the place he used to call home. He could feel the heat from the fire, the fire that he himself had ignited. He blinked back tears, as he limped away.
Smaug stares into the dense forest, a small gust of wind sweeps through the forest and toward the group. Smaug wrinkles his nose at the smell of dead animals. Suddenly a pair of gleaming, red eyes, filled with hatred stares at the group. Smaug takes a step forward with his scaled foot. The eyes vanish, but Smaug is now watching the forest warily, with more nervousness. The eyes flash once more before disappearing for good.
Veltra walked up next to Smaug, and squinted. He saw nothing. He unsheathed the long narrow sword from it's leather casing on his back. He swung it around a couple times. Then stepped forwards. He help his hand, muttered a few words, and a light broke through from the tree line, and lit the opening that was once pitch black. He looked around, nodded, then continued on.

Scarlet lifted the hood of her cape to cover her face. She then started following the others into the forest. She was worried because she felt the souls of the hundreds who died in the forest, they were all restless and she could hear their voices muttering curses. Only troubled souls stayed on earth, hearing souls was never good, it meant the place was haunted. Haunted places were always dangerous but with this many it would almost be suicide to continue. She sighed, the only reason she was here was because she was paying a debt to a friend; a dear, old, dead friend to whom she owed her life and freedom. Once she was done with favor she would leave, but not until their quest was over.

As the group trudged on Smaug slowly started to fall behind. He was lost in thought and memories that those eyes had brought back. Thos eyes, those evil, criticizing, probing eyes. They had unearthed long lost memories that Smaug had shoved away, refused to admit that the past was true. What had happened was real, not some horrible nightmare. Smaug was so lost in thought and dark memories that he was starting to run into things. Veltra bent back a branch for Smaug to slip past, he held out his hand to recieve the branch but missed. It snapped back and hit Smaug square in between his eyes. Smaug growled in frustration and snapped the branch, not just out of anger, but out of realization. Smaug knew who those eyes belonged to. A character that he loathed, and hated. Right then and there Smaug silently swore that he would not leave this forest until that person was brought to justice. For ruining his life, for doing unforgivable, and unforgettable things. There was only one way to bring that person to justice. One way to solve the horrible things that the character had done. Death.
Alabaster entered the forest with the group. His pale eyes penetrated the dark. In preparation for the evening's excursion, he had worn an eye patch over one eye all day. It was a trick he had learned from a pirate he hunted, by wearing the patch, one eye is always adjusted to the dark. He removed the patch now and readied himself for the hunt.
"Awful quiet," he said, his voice a whisper, "are you guys nervous?" He asked. Fear was a long dead feeling for Alabaster. He had been waiting to die for years now, this was just another opportunity to do so with honor. He drew his head hunters knife and ran his thumb against the sharp edge. No blood was drawn, but the blade was as sharp and cold as ever.

It was quiet in the woods as the team trudged along in a single file line along the narrow path. Scarlett heard the snap of the branch Smaug broke and wondered what was bothering him but didn't think it wise to ask. Everyone here brought their own secret burdens and horrors to personal to share. She jumped a little when Alabaster spoke, smiled at herself and called out, "If you're not nervous by now you should be.Look around you. Listen. There are many dangers in this forest that you cannot see or fight with a dagger or sword."

"I could probably light the whole forest, but the spell would take at least an hour to process, and my energy would be sapped tremendously." Veltra wished his spellcasting was more developed, so he could complete the task.
He continued walking and swinging his weapon at lone sapling trees, swiftly slicing the undeveloped trunks in half.

Smaug was now having to jog to catch up with the group. As he grew closer he heard Veltra say that he could light the whole forest. Smaug called ahead, "I think its better if we try to stay hidden, give the goblins a surprise. Besides, if we get attacked while you are weak, that might not turn out well." As they walked deeper into the forest, Smaug was starting to hear sounds, but too low for him to work out what they were. So just to be cautious, he drew his sword, it had engravings of fire on it. Smaug smiled, this sword was a treasure to him, it had been passed down by father to son for centuries. When he drew the sword, the low noises suddenly grew louder, and agitated.
"I agree," Veltra responded with out turning to see Smaug speak. "It's too risky." He continued to swing his sword at small trees.
He looked down, watching where he stepped in the thorn filled woods. A soft crunch was emitted from in front of him, and he slowly looked up. A goblin stood, alone, clutching a small, shining dagger that pierced the black forest. The creature wore a bandana, and over it a metal helm. It jumped, wielding the dagger so it was upside down, one legit hit and you were dead. Veltra lifted his sword, and parried the stab as the goblin flew through the damp air. It landed, but Veltra wheeled around, kicking its back as he went. The goblin fell, turned and held its dagger out, but Veltra swung his sword, which easily reached the short being, and sliced through the upper half of it's hand. The goblin let out a grunt in pain, and tried to stand up, but Veltra quickly stabbed in between the two plates of armor it wore. He held it there, and then slid it out. He wiped the tainted blade on his padded leggings, then turned to Smaug who was catching his breath.
"I don't think surprising them will work. They know we're here."

After Veltra quickly dispatched the goblin, he turned to Smaug and said, "I don't surprising them will work. They know we're here." Smaug did a quick scan of their area, "I wonder how many know about us," Smaug said thoughtfully. "We should keep our eyes open for more goblins, that one goblin was probably just the beginning. We should all keep our weapons ready." He suggested. Smaug turned around to check behind the group, when he turned around again he saw another goblin flying at him. The only thing was, this goblin was much bigger... and it had a huge sword in hand.
Smaug was unprepared, but instinctively swung upward with his sythe, which met plate armor. Fortunately, due to his super strength, Smaug smashed his armor and sent him flying behind the group. The goblin flew through the air and landed on its feet. When it spun around, it lunged at the first person it saw, Scarlett.
