Nella vita vi è la distruzione, desolazione nella morte, ma c'è speranza nella rivoluzione.
My sailboat rocked slowly on the calm sea today. The winds were slight and I had a feeling of anxiousness. I was rather bored and so I took out a few knives I had in my bag. I started juggling to pass the time away, hoping I wouldn't cut off my hands.
I quickly mastered the dangerous skill, but I dropped the knives, grazing my arm, when I heard the distinctive sound of seagulls. I knew there was no island around here, or the tides would be altered. There could only be a fairly large ship for this kind of racket.
I turned around and quickly pulled in the sails; stopping the boat. On the ship there was a Leucosia on the side of the ship. There was a plank extending from the side of her, and I was expecting to see someone launched off of the side of it very soon.
One of the more well groomed crew members noticed me and called out to the captain. The captain, a large authorative man, came to the side of the ship and leaned over the railing.
"Can I help you?," he asked. I climbed to a perch on my boat.
"I believe you can Captain. I recently set off from port, hoping to find something interesting. I seem to have run out of provisions."
He smiled delightedly, "Well you came at a fitting time. I'm in need of some crew members."
"It seems as if your getting rid of some." I nodded to the plank.
"Not exactly. But, I'd be willing to let you stay on the ship if you work as a servant. You'd earn your stay and provisions." I considered the option for a few seconds. I didn't have any food, and this seemed like a fine ship to stay on.
"That sounds like a fine idea." One of the crew members tossed a rope down, but I had no need for it. I held on to a notch in the ship and kicked my ship away from me, grabbing my bag at the last second. I scaled the ship and popped up the side, to the suprise of the crew, and, what looked like... captives.
"Welcome aboard," said the man who had spotted me, a well dressed clean man that smelled like blood and soap. A surgeon.
This should be interesting.
Nella vita vi è la distruzione, desolazione nella morte, ma c'è speranza nella rivoluzione.
The crew came across a girl, and welcomed her on board the ship - for labor that is. As she climbed - and I mean that literally - up the ship, I wondered how often Captain White does this. Rumor has it he did somewhat the same for Belladonna.
My wrists were a little bloodied, from trying to break free of the rope. Hoping it wouldn't scar, I ran my hands through my hair, deciding to wash it off later.
"I'll stay" I said clearly to the Captain and crew.
I was followed with a few more decisions to stay. Apparently, we all chose piratery over death. Who would've thought.
A little drearily, two of the crew member brought the plank back in. As they did so, I turned around to face a man who smelled like blood and...soap. Doctor, I suppose.
"Need help with those wrists?" He asked.
Nodding, I followed him, where he brought me to a place where I could wash away the blood.
As we walked back on deck, he explained, "Sadly, I can't really treat rope burn. But it'll go away with time. Just don't irritate it."
When we reached deck, I spotted a girl off on her own. Approaching her, I said, "Hi. Name's Nicholas - the black smith. You are?"
I was immediatly suprised- and incredibly relieved- when I found out that all the captives were staying on the boat. I wouldn't be alone, a strange civilian on a pirate's ship. The doctor came around and checked everyone's wrists. Mine were suprisingly unfeeling, but looking at them made me sick. I hadn't done a lot of work in my life- my pale and soft hands made that painfully obvious. I was one of the doctor's first visits, thankfully. He added some smoothing medicine to it, but was soon gone before I could ask any questions. I dearly hoped that wasn't a pattern on this ship.
I soon found myself off of the crowd, looking over the ocean. I'd never really given it a good look before, and I know I wouldn't know what to say to captives aboard a pirate ship. Really.
After a while, a man approaches me. He can't be much older than I am, and has a charming air about him. He's rather handsome, and he greets me with;
"Hi. Name's Nicholas - the black smith. You are?"
"Annaylin. Hale. Hello."
I was partially glad girls usually didn't have title's such as 'blacksmith'- then I'd probably have to say 'daughter of some rich guy.' That wouldn't be kinda embarassing- and bad, being that I was now on a pirate ship.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.
I want to stay aloof, away from any possible contact with this ship's crew members, but soon the growling of my stomach overrides all my original protests and I'm searching aimlessly for the kitchen. This ship was so strange, so unlike mine, everything is different, and I don't like it.
Soon I made my way back around to where a few other captives were still deciding, as if the choice was really that hard, and where some girl was just hopping onto the ship. I ignored all of them and strode over towards the captain.
"Where's the kitchen," I asked angrily, my eyes narrowed. It made me sick realizing I needed this old buggers help.
"The kitchen," he bellows in his loud voice. I wince and glare harder. "Why, the kitchen is just down that hatch over there. You can't miss it, smells like food."
"Food? No way," I mutter before storming off and down the hatch. Sure enough, the smell of something brewing hits me hard and I just follow my nose to the kitchen in the back where some lady is busy stirring away at a pot and muttering to herself.
"Hey," I call. She turns around quickly and points a dripping spoon at me. A raise an eyebrow at her and roll my eyes before sighing. This ship was by far the stupidest I'd ever set foot on. "Can I get some food?"
Nickname: Usually just called Micah, but some people shorten it to Mike
Position/Captive: Captive
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Micah is around five feet and seven inches in height, and extremely thin. He is strong, having lived on the streets for nearly his entire life, and in excellent shape. He has shoulder-length red hair, which he keeps tied back. Although his thin face is typically grimy, it is also covered in freckles, so that at times, he looks almost tan. He has hazel eyes and a rather pointy nose. In general, he wears an old, beaten-up leather over coat, boots, and an old cap.
Personality: Micah is a desperately social person, who has been without consistent human company for almost his entire life. He thinks that he's funny, but doesn't really know because he's never had the chance to try out his skills. When he does get the chance to interact with other people, he has a happy-go-lucky air, despite his situation. He's constantly cracking jokes and trying to make people feel better about themselves. He's also extremely compulsive, and will do things just because he can. Spoiler
Strengths/Weaknesses: Micah is intelligent, agile, and hard-working, always ready to lay his life on the line to protect friends. He knows how to fight, and works well with others, despite having lived alone for most of his life. However, he can be quick to anger and he is somewhat impulsive, leading him to do rash things.
Likes/Dislikes: LIkes: being around other people, laughing, good food, rain Dislikes: violence (but is still a good fighter, if he's forced to), inequality, maliciousness.
History: Micah and his parents moved to the village when he was three, from Scotland. They lived in a small house on the outskirts of town for 4 more years, before his parents both died during an influenza epidemic. From there, he was taken to the town's small orphanage. He lived there for about 4 months and was beaten by the woman who ran the home. He ran away, and started living on the streets, finding odd jobs people needed doing, and getting by. Micah has been living on the streets for about 9 years, and although he's still wary of the pirates, he relishes the change in setting and style.
Up for Love?: Yes
Other: Has a Scottish accent

Well, this is a fine mess. All I was doing was minding my own business, sleeping in a back alley, and these bloody pirates have to come in and raid the town. Hardly polite. I mean, I'd heard people whispering about it a few days before, but really, you'd have to be an idiot to believe half the stuff you hear village people gossiping about. Not that it matters anymore, since, clearly, the rumors were true. I sigh. I'd elected to stay, instead of walking the plank. I could've swum back, that wouldn't have been a problem, but this way, I won't ever have to go back to being a street urchin. Now, I can be a pirate. Maybe.
Rubbing my wrists, I wander the deck aimlessly. The wind is picking up slightly, and it seems that the ship is ready to set sail. Blowing my hair out of my eyes, I notice two of the other captives, who look a little older than me, talking a few yards away. I head towards them and hear the boy say that his name is Nicholas. I smile. The girl says her name is Annaylin, and then looks vaguely embarrassed. They look over at me as I reach them.
"As long as we're doing introductions," I say jovially, "I'm Micah, and, uh, I'm a street kid," They raise their eyebrows, "As in, I live on the streets," I say hurriedly, suddenly feeling self-conscious.

Fingering the golden necklace with one hand, I placed my other on Micah's shoulder supportively and said to him, "Feel no shame, brother, my sister was adopted off the streets - she is-"
I cut myself short, and continued "WAS a gypsy, before those bloody pirates slit her throat."
"Why are we even here?" Someone asked, walking over, bringing some others with them.
Sam - Servant
edging quietly over to the captives, I whispered "I know why."
They looked at me expectantly, and as I opened my mouth to talk, one of the crew members grabbed me by the back of my throat and shoved me away "What are you doing out here, boy?"
"I -" a hand came down on my face, cutting me off. It didn't hurt realy, but still stung. I was used to it by now.
"Go, away from the captives, boy. Away with you"
I ran into the kitchen, making sure not to bother Kettle, and wondered to myself if telling them why they are here is worth the risk.
I saw a boy get smacked across the face, and must have hurt like crazy. I decided to follow him, maybe he knew where the kitchen was.
He did go through the kitchen, and there was a large woman there occupying herself picking something up on the floor. I walked through silently, and she didn't here me. I slipped an apple and a roll into my hat, and drunk some wine, and continued on through the door the boy had left from.
I ran into him in a room I couldn't identify.
"Kettle's going to kill you," he said when I almost walked into him.
