A Pirate's Life For Me

'Ey matey. Welcome aboard the Leucosia (Lou-coas-ee-uh) - a pirate ship!

For three weeks and two days, the Leucosia has been seen on the horizen of your town, Sycamora. The people orginally thought nothing of it. But after the second day, on the third night, Sycamora goes up in flames. The pirates of the Leucosia have come ashore, and they're burning the town to the ground, taking people's valuables, and even kidnapping.

You find yourself blindfolded and gaged by these pirates after they break into your home. Why they want you, you know not. But the next thing you know you wake up aboard the Leucosia, many others near you, all tied to the mast, and pirates all around.

Captain John White gives you a choice: Join them or walk the plank.

Only when you choose to join them do you learn where you are going. Kesia (keys-ee-uh) Lagoon, a place known for its danger. But of course, there's going to be a few stops on the way - as long as you swear not to run.

It’s not hard to tell that Clara takes her job very seriously. She’s always got that irritated scowl spread across her face-- either that or the ‘I am obviously irritated with you’ look. Her eyes are a almost-blank green, too. She knows that as far as looks go, she doesn't stack up to Belle. She won't admit it, but she's actually a little envious of it. Belle's just got the natural beauty that Clara was born without.-- Note that it doesn't bother her enough to constantly be on her mind. She has more important things to worry about.

Her gun is always on hand or within her reach. She’s the kind of person who you know you don’t want to upset before you even get to know her. Unlike most Piratesses, she doesn’t dress like ‘Some land lubbin’ wench’, as she puts it. Her clothes are professional and tell you just that.

Personality: Clara takes everything far too seriously for her own good. Don't bother to strike up friendly conversation with her, or try and crack a joke around her. She'll tell you to stop wasting time and get back to work. Or that there are better things you can do with your time than bother her. She can be a bit of a spoil sport, too. Don't let her catch you gossiping about other members on the ship when you should be working-- she will rat you out. Not to the captain, either, she'll rat you out to whoever you were speaking about. It entertains her when people are forced to work things out themselves. She sees the crew as a bunch of kids, sometimes. And she hates kids.

There are a few times that you can catch Clara being a bit of a hypocrite. Like when she finds a shady spot to just lay down and take a nap. Or when she'll talk about Belle behind her back-- Clara strongly believes that Captain didn't know what he was thinking when he made her co-First hand. She thinks the ship was better off without her.

When Clara is upset, you'll know it. She has the hardest glare on the seven seas, and she knows it. It's also likely that she'll call you a few choice names, Blidge rat being the least rude she can think of. She may not be the best with a sword, but that's the least of your worries. If she has her gun around, and you've made her mad enough, she won't think twice before shooting you. Of course she tries to refrain from shooting her crew mates, but you never know.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: She's not called "Clear-Shot Clara" for nothing, one shot is all it takes for her to hit her target. She always hits her target. She's not a half bad navigator, either.

Weaknesses: She's horrible with a sword, and hand to hand combat. If you can believe it, she also gets land-sick (Like sea sick, but from walking on land.)

Likes/Dislikes: Likes: Sea air, fruit, the feeling of sand on her toes, music, a good storm (But only once in a while).

Dislikes: Belle (somewhat), the lack of good food, people who gossip, people who slack, digging, super hot weather.

History: Clara lived in a small port town with both parents, and two brothers. Her father was a small trader, who would trade sailors their treasures for whatever they needed. Clara swore that man had a little bit of everything you could imagine. The kids would spend lazy afternoons chucking rocks at old cans-- something Clara has perfected to an art. Their mother would sit in her chair on the lawn and sew the day away. The kids never got to see their father often-- just the loud and shady looking sailors that he traded with.

One day, Clara caught one of the sailors watching them. She tried to pay him no mind, since her dad had told her never to bother his customers, and definitely never talk to them. Her mother watched him like a hawk. Up to that time, Clara had never seen her mother upset. She was such a passive person that nothing ever seemed to bother her. Eventually, the sailor went inside and everyone went back to what they were doing in peace. Until the shouting from inside began.

Moments after the shouting began, it ended. Both their father and the strange sailor came outside, and her dad told the kids to line up. Her younger brother was a timid thing, and ducked behind her. Their eldest brother glared at the sailor, until he glared back. The older boy retreated into himself almost immediately. Clara, on the other hand, stared at him with a cold indifference. A moment later, her mother figured out what was happening and disappeared into the house-- crying. The man continued to try and glare Clara down, to no avail. When she finally had enough she turned to her father and asked why they were standing there, and if they had done something wrong. The sailor and her dad had a bit of a private conversation then, and Clara found herself being dragged off.

It turned out her father owed Captain White a debt that he couldn't repay any other way. Clara was still young at the time, so she was put to work cleaning and helping the cook. Every now and then the captain would take her up on deck and have her fire his gun. It turned out the captain wasn't as terrible as the crew said. He was strict, and if you didn't listen you were struck, but he took time for each of them. He taught Clara all she knows-- though the bitter attitude was something she developed on her own.

She feels she's earned her keep and her position with how dedicated she'd become to the crew-- even though she was nothing more than a payment when she first arrived. Which is why she's not entirely fond of Belle. She feels Belle hasn't proven herself yet, and that the captain is just picking favorites. If she ever lost her position and respect to Belle, there's no telling what she'd do.

Appearance: Lilly is tall, about 5'6, with long, dark brown hair that reaches the middle of her back, pale skin and dark brown eyes. She’s slim yet athletic with a womanly figure. Often seen wearing dresses, such as the one below.

Personality: Kind, caring, loving, distant, determined, and fiery, Lilly has a fiery temper but is friendly and kind--unless she's angry (which is when her friends and family are being harmed/threatened). Although her temper has a shot fuse, she doesn't lose it often and prefers peace to violence. She doesn't like to fight but can and will use her dagger if she needs to. Lilly often seems timid and shy, though it's usually just a mask to distract others. She can be really brave and proud, but doesn't like Pirates. She thinks they're filthy scum.

Strengths/Weaknesses: She's fast on her feet, knows how to use a dagger and can swim but she's hopeless at anything other than the dagger. Can't cook, can't ride and doesn't know how to sail a ship, or a boat. Her short temper and her poor fighting skills when not using a dagger. And her courage and pride-both have gotten her into trouble on occasion.

Likes/Dislikes: She likes the sea, swimming, the moon and stars, sailing, shells, running, climbing and cats. Dislikes pirates, anything pirate-related, the dark, violence/fighting, being in danger and not knowing anything.

History: Lilly grew up in Sycamora. Her father is a merchant by the name of Edward Angell, but there's more to him than trade, although, Lilly could never figure what that could be. Until now. The town had been nervous for days until the pirates attacked, and the next thing she knew, Sycamora had been raided and she was taken captive.

Up for Love? Of course.

Other: Lilly has two siblings, a younger sister who is in England and an older brother than she hasn't seen in years; there are rumours of him turning pirate. There are also rumours of her father being a pirate as well, but she doesn’t believe them.

Maddie is from the slums and therefore is unkempt-looking, although pretty. Her hair is medium brown with a hint of red, and her eyes are gray-blue. She is short and curvy, not really skinny, not really fat. Maddie likes to wear her hair in a braid, and she usually walks about in a raggedy dress, barefoot, with her little brother Louis, who was not taken captive.

Personality: Maddie is quiet and hardworking. She is bright, though not particularly book smart, and she is a good judge of character. She is extremely neat, to the point of obsession at times, and she loves to draw. Maddie is definitely a worrier, and being taken captive will no doubt be hard on her. But she has the inner strength that most poverty-stricken people have, and she is bossy enough to assert herself. She might just be able to make it as a pirate.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Maddie is strong in her intelligence and organization, weak in general physical strength.

Likes/Dislikes: Maddie likes drawing. She hates just about every vegetable. She likes the color blue (good thing she's on the ocean), and she loves her little brother. She hates rich people.

History: Maddie's family was from France but immigrated during the French revolution. Her father died of tuberculosis, and her mother worked in a poorhouse to ease his drinking debts. But then she too contracted tuberculosis. So Maddie and Louis lived on the streets, until Maddie was taken captive. Now Louis, a ten-year-old, is alone and orphaned. Maddie is sailing the seas.

Kalmyk has sandy colored curly hair, clouded grey eyes, and is 5"11. He has this tattoo

Kalmyk has long, lean, arms and legs and slightly pointed ears.

Personality: He's hard and stubborn. He listens to nobody but himself and, to Kal, everybody is wrong if they're disagreeing with him. He's very hard-headed and never backs down from anything. But, with all these things, he's not impulsive. He's always formulating some type of plan to make things better for himself. Life is a game to Kal and he's just trying to win. He often takes on hard tasks just because he wants to see if he can finish them.

He talks a lot and is a bit cocky. He thinks nothing can defeat him.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Determined. Strong. Never gives up. A very good planner.

Weaknesses: Bad listener. Doesn't take instruction or advice. Not a good team player. Has a big mouth.

Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: He likes the night and will sometimes sleep during the days just so he can stay up at night and watch the sky. He likes winning and when he's right. Kal likes it when people listen to him and follow his instructions. He loves oranges and the colors blue and green. He also likes listening to music though he can't play it.

Dislikes: When he's wrong. Losing. Being ignored or called stupid. Stupid people. Loud people. Apples and the color red.

History: He was raised on his father's ship and brought up to be a pirate. His father got a woman pregnant at one of the ports and because she refused to get an abortion he brought her along. As soon as she gave birth Jin, Kalmyk's dad, killed her and through her overboard for defying him. He was about to throw Kal over too but saw it was a boy and decided it wouldn't be too bad to raise an heir.

Because Kal was the captain's son he got the utmost respect from everybody. Kal was a really sweet, cute kid and everybody loved him. Jin taught Kal how to fight and how to be a good ruler and put a lot of pressure on Kal to "stop playing around like a kid and get serious". Kal began to stop playing around and started to be bossy, even still the people on the boat respected him and strove to be more like him. They didn't mind Kal bossing them around because he was usually right.

Jin died from old age unexpectedly in his sleep. The very next day after that the ship was attacked and Kal was taken captive. He was too weak from grief to fight back with all that he had and while he was being tied up he knew his dad would be disappointed in him. The grief is still fresh on Kalmyk.

Up for Love?: Yes.

Other: Carries around a notebook and pen for planning. Kal's dad just died so he may have his sudden crushing moments of sadness.
