So..question...Why is every captive between the ages 12-19? Why are there only 2 adults on the ship? So shouldn't the ship be runned by teens including the surgeon and cook? This sb is getting weird. Shouldn't there be more plausible reasons to being captured instead of just being snatched up?

Creative, first off, I'm not sure what you mean by it's getting weird? Hahaha. We haven't started and the plot has been the same since day one :) Also, the reason everyone is young is to increase interest. People, especially young writers, are more comfortable with using younger characters. There are four adults to be exact, but I did already say that those who want to claim surgeon and the cook could make them younger if they so chose to. As for the reason, I didn't put one down because a.)It's not like the captives would know why they were taken, now would they? :) B.)I'm not a fan of putting too much restraint on SBs - they don't work out for long if you do that. And c.)I created the character, Sam, so that he could later on tell you the reasoning for now. I didn't see a reason to put why just quite yet. :) Hope this clears things up. if not, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to clear anything up for you :)

Age (14-19 unless permitted otherwise): 17

Gender: Male

Appearance: Carr stands at five feet six inches with pale skin, dark black hair, and brilliant blue eyes that are darker around the edges. His hair is ever so slightly long.
Image

Personality: Carr is mostly on the quiet side, rather shy. Unless he's around music. When he plays music or hears it, he get's into an outgoing state where he doesn't care what people think. He'll start dancing around and singing and playing instruments, oblivious to the people watching him. Carr is in love with music. He's not one to just walk up and start a conversation, but he'll be glad to carry one out if someone else initiates it. He's a nice kid who would gladly take the blows for someone else, and he will protect his brothers no matter what.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths - Music, dancing, he's strong, and he's spot on with a gun
Weaknesses - Can't bring himself to kill/hurt someone unless he feels threatened or his brothers are in danger.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes - Music, dancing, making people smile, the night, fires
Dislikes - Killing, hurting, people endangering his brothers, being pushed outside his limits.

Full Name: Samson Tucker Black

Nickname (If any): Sam. But most of the crew just calls him "Boy"

Position/Captive: Servant

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Appearance: Sam has short, black hair and brown eyes. He stands at five feet seven inches, and is pretty muscular.
Spoiler
Image

Personality: Sam is someone who is mostly just back in the shadows. He doesn't speak much, because he's grown up as a servant to these pirates, not able to speak up without being stuck across the face. He's a very opinionated person, and has a short temper, and sometimes he just can't hold it in and outbursts - this usually gets him in a lot of trouble. He mostly sits back and watches, and tends to hear things/know more things than he should. Sam also is a very good judge of character, and will take a liking to someone almost instantaneously.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths - Keeping secrets, he's strong, and he has a great hand with a gun and with a sword, he's a little jack of all trades
Weaknesses - Has a short temper, VERY opinionated, knows more than he should

Likes/Dislikes: Likes - Secrets, people, his opinions
Dislikes - Not knowing, and he can't stand dogs, and as much as he hates being smacked across the face, sometimes he can't control his mouth.

History: He can't remember hardly anything. One day he just woke up aboard the Leucosia, when he was about seven.

A little about the Captain! Even though he's mostly a NPC

Name/Postition: Captain John Guthrie White

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Appearance: Captain White stands at six foot with long, dirt blonde hair and a scruffly little beard/mustache thinig going on. He has light, smokey gray eyes and his hands are rather calloused. Captain White tends to wear a lot of rings
Image

Personality: Here's the gist - he's a leader. He's tough. He's not afraid to take someone out. He's one of the best pirates sailing the seven seas. Don't you dare go against him or aggrevate him. However, he can sometimes be a pretty nice guy - he has a huge heart. But he rarely shows it to anyone. Usually just Clara, Belle, and maybe a few people here and there.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes - Obedience. Treasure. Piratery. The oceans. Sailing. Monkeys. And he's quite fond of children, though most aren't aware of this.

Dislikes - Disobedience. Idiocy. Being on land for too long.

*Again, that was just the gist. Keeping this short and sweet.*

History: John White was born the son of a doctor. His father expected him to follow in his footsteps, but John didn't want to. He wanted to be an explorer. John's father scoffed at this notion. When John was nine years old, he grew angry at his father and they got into a fight. It ended with his father yelling that he needed to grow up and he was going to be a doctor whether he liked it or not. John ran away. He stole a boat, and he went out sailing. He was picked up by a crew of pirates. He was taken in and taught the ways of piratery.

John wound up the captain of this ship, but at that point the crew that was there had died off or had left when the previous captain had died. John sailed around on his own with the couple of people who were still there, and he picked up people here and there for his crew....some people he literally picked them up....he kinda stole some of them.

A while back, there was a debt to be paid. The man could not pay it, so Captain White demanded that he be allowed to take one of his children. He chose the girl, because she was the bravest, she showed courage, and she didn't back down. He chose Clara. Not long after, his crew came across a small boat, a young girl passed out in it. They fished her out, and when she awoke, Captain White asked her some questions, and upon hearing the answers, he allowed her to live. He has raised both girls into piratery. No just him, of course. The crew has helped. He loves these girls like they were his own children, but he does have a certain degree of detachment so he is completely okay with giving them orders and wouldn't be afraid to turn a gun on them.

Okay - sorry for the delay. We are going to start now. If people still haven't gotten their profiles in, well, get 'em in hahaha.

Belle/Belladonna - first hand man:

*I would like you guys to title it like this ^ for now, until everyone gets used to who everyone is without looking back at the main page*

The wind blew, filling the ship's sails and trying to lead it away from the town. Not yet I thought as I looked back at the crew with the X amount of people we had taken, and looked at the one I'd thrown over my own shoulder - he'd been knocked out, because he'd irritated me with his struggling. All of them had.

Climbing aboard the Leucosia, and slid the boy off of my shoulder and dragged his body across the deck towards the mast. As the rest of the crew put the captives against the mast, I yelled at the boy, Sam,

"Sam! Come. Tie them to the mast."

Sam appeared from nowhere and immediately tied the captives up, lingering just a bit, then running off to the captain's quarters.

Looking down at the children, I couldn't help but smile. The Captain would be pleased with our selection.

Turning on the heel of my black boot, I yelled, "Alright, set sail!"

***

My hat tipped over my face, I drifted off to sleep in a chair I'd settled next to the captives. A scream woke me, and I smirked. Adjusting my hat right, I stood, drew my sword, and looked to the now awake captives.

Clara came over as well, and we glanced at each other, a smirk on our faces, forgetting out rivalry for a split second.

Clara chanted, "Welcome to the Leaucosia, captives!"

*Musicians - Those who could play drums, bagpipes, trumpets, accordions, fiddles, and other instruments*

Carr - Musician

The captives were a thing of interest to my brothers and I, but we knew we shouldn't go over to them.

Choosing a fiddle from an aray of instruments that had been stolen by or for us, I said to my brothers, "Come, we'll play some music for them"

Plucking up the bow, I headed out onto the deck, near the captives, and where the majority of the crew were at the moment. Seems we weren't the only ones who had taken an interest.

Tucking the fiddle beneath my chin, I took up my bow and played a few strings, fixed the tuning, then began to play a fast paced piece. The music rushed over me and I couldn't help but start dancing to it as I played. Everyone around me mealted away as I played, jumping around the ship in a dance. When the piece ended, the people appeared. And so did the captain.

Nicholas - Captive

I watched with utter disgust as the crew began to crowd around us. Tied to the mast with a mass of other kids, I couldn't do much. But I did start working the on rops the bound my hand's together, ignoring the agonizing pain it was causing to my wrists as the rope tore at my flesh.

The music stopped, and as it did, what must have been the captain of the ship came out. Everyone froze, including me.

Captain White.

He came closer to us, inspecting us, like we were a group of cattle to be sold. Disgusted, I spit towards his feet, missing because of my angle.

His eyes lighting up, he came towards me, and crouched down to look me in the eye.

"Young man. You realize your life is in my hands, don't you now." He stated. Not asked.

"Not just my life, Captain." I growled, "You took my sister's life not an hour ago and left her on the floor to rot! For my father to come home and see! I don't know why you took me and not her. She would have been better, raised as a gypsy! You should have killed me!"

Chuckling, the Captain said, "Fret not, that can be arranged."

He stood and moved on as I closed my eyes, feeling Elodie's cool gold necklace against my chest.

"I'm going to give you a choice!" The captain shouted at us.

Suddenly, I felt the rope slacken, cut by his sword.

I opened my eyes as he said, "You may join me. Or," he nodded his head towards the two men putting the plank in place, "You may walk the plank"

I was always told that you learn something new everyday. I found the saying a tad bit ridicoulous- unless you were in schooling, you had no oppurtunity to find out something new.

But guess what?

I learned that ropes were very uncomfortable.

I suppose I should know that already, but I'd never been tied to the pole before. Or tied to anything, really.

Interesting.

I tuned back into the argument of the Captain- that was what he was, obviously- and the other captive. The young man seemed angry about something, and he and the Captain were arguing. I have to admit, I wasn't really listening- when your hands are bound behind your back, you have other things in mind. I do, however catch one snap of the conversation.

"You may join me. Or you may walk the plank."

That's when I felt the ropes slacken. I rubbed my raw wrist immediatly, watching the captain. Walking the plank meant death for anyone who couldn't swim- meaning me. Not to mention the legendary creatures creeping down under the waters. Or I could go home. Blinking, I washed away the thought. There was no way I was ever going home- not to deal with that wretched fiancee. That wretched man. I did love my family- of course- but all the family decentcy in the world couldn't make me go back there. I sent a galnce around the group of captives. That same man was glaring at the captain, and a few others looked awkward in their descision making. I knew what I wanted, but I didn't want to be the first to speak out- I didn't want to be known as that.

A pirate's life was probably difficult. Not everyone faced such a certain prison back home- they may want to go back. Not like I did. Nobody said anything, and I felt fear rocking through me. I didn't want to be on a ship full of pirates without any other captives- but there was no way I was risking those murky depths.

"I'll stay- please don't make me walk the plank."
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Maddie Toupin- Captive

It smells like salty fish and body odor. I'm bound by scratchy ropes, and I'm not the only one. There must be a dozen teenagers ondeck, manacled by the thick, ugly strings. Our captors are a rough bunch: wind-burned and vulgur, with a variety of injuries making them hobble about. I actually find myself feeling bad for some of them.

A guy near me says something I don't quite catch, but I can tell from his livid face that he's no happier than me. A pirate, the captain I assume from his superfluous clothing, responds loudly that something can be arranged.

I'm confused, but things are cleared up real quick when the captain speaks again. "You may join me or you may walk the plank."

If I'm dead, what help am I to my little brother? If I sail the seas with this rugged bunch of sinners, what help am I to him? Some of them give me the creeps, too. But I know I can't give up without a fight. I must stay alive. I could have died long ago, just up and given up. But it is not my way. I know I must stay alive and return to my brother.

Kalmyk Core - Captive

Of course something like this would happen to me. Bad luck seemed to hover over me like a cloud. First my dad dies, and as we're stopping at this random port to see if we can cremate him quickly - he always wanted his ashes thrown to sea - that damned place get raided. And now I'm here on a ship that's not mine, being given two choices.

"This is a bunch of crap," I mutter angrily to myself.

"You may join me or you may walk the plank."

I glare up at the captain and hold myself back from shouting out. I'd rather drown than serve a captain that was not my father, but what good would dying do me. I could live and get revenge on this blasted ship. That's what father would have done.

An unexpected wave of sadness rushes my body and I bow my head, my teeth bite into my lip to keep back tears.

"I'll stay," I speak up, thankfully keeping most of my sorrow out of my voice. I take a deep breath and look up at the captain, all the emotion bouncing around inside of me is kept from showing in my eyes, all but my anger.

"Very well."

The ropes binding my body fall to the deck and I stand up immediately and walk away, wanting to be anywhere but near that crew. What a stupid proposition anyway. What good would I be to them doing absolutely nothing. It's fine by me, I don't care, because as soon as I have a chance I'm killing that old dirty captain and taking over this ship in the name of my father.

I always knew that deep down in every human heart, there is mercy and generosity. No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.
