Isabella

Micah was back. At least that was one good thing, maybe they were testing the same drug on Link. I lay for a moment, watching Micah, who for some reason was wearing sunglasses.
"Micah, are you alright?" I said getting up and walking over to him.
"Em. No," he sighed, guesturing to the glasses. "You think they gave me these because they liked me?"
"Oh. I'm sorry," I murmered, trying to smile slightly. "At least your still here, though whether that really is a good thing I don't know." Micah smiled weakly.
"Yes, I guess its not all bad," he said quietly.
'Are you saying Ni to that old woman?'
'Yes'

Micah,

I smile weakly at Isabella. She's always been great.

"Yes, I guess it's not all bad," I say, "At least I'm alive."

She nods, "What did they do this time, though?"

I snort, "They infected me with some sort of disease, TB, I think they called it. It hurt a lot. Then they gave me this cure thing, and I felt better. I fell asleep, actually. But when I woke up the lights burned my eyes. That's why I'm wearing these. Apparently my eyes are all pupil now."

Isabella pats my shoulder sympathetically, "That's terrible. Is that what's happening to the others right now, too?"

I shrug, "I know that that's what they were doing to Nimsi," my hands clench convulsively, "The bastards."

Isabella shakes her head, and I continue, "I almost got sent to 'a specialist.'"

She looks at me, aghast, "No! They almost...killed you?"

I laugh bitterly, "Since when is that new? I just hope that the others are as lucky as me..."

Guys, I'm holding off posting either Dr. Grey and Nimsi until you develop the pen-stabbing plan. Because, without it, my plan would fail. :D

Isabella

I looked at Micah and tried my best to smile.

"They'll be fine," I whispered letting my gaze drift towards the door. Micah frowned and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Isabella, it's alright if your worried you know," he said. "We all are, you don't have to hide it."

"I know," I sighed softly. "It's just easier for me if I pretend I'm not so worried. If I pretend nothing bad will happen to them." I yawned and smiled at Micah. "How long were you gone?" Micah shrugged.

"I don't know, after all I was asleep for most of the time," he said.

"Oh, I'm tired," I said, yawning again. "I'm going to bed." Micah smiled at me slightly and raised one eyebrow.

"So by bed do you mean curl up on your favourite spot of the floor?" he asked with a small laugh.
'Are you saying Ni to that old woman?'
'Yes'

Micah,

She laughs softly, "Oh, yeah. I'm gonna go find the softest spot in the concrete. It's quite nice."

I grin, "Well, you can use my blanket too, if you want. I'm not gonna sleep today.

Isabella shakes her head, "You don't have to do that, Micah. It gets so cold in here..."

"Look, it's no problem," I say, "Let me go get it."

I go over to retrieve it from next Nimsi's teddy bear. As I jostle the bear, I notice that one of the eyes is surrounded by a gooey black substance, something that definitely wasn't there before. I hurriedly pick up the bear and go back over to Isabella.

"Do you know what this is about?" I ask quietly, indicating the black goo.

"Yeah," she whispers back, "Link found this pen and used the ink to glue the eye back on," she hesitates, "I've got the pen right here." She shakes her sleeve.

I stifle a gasp, "Really? That could...that could really help us!" I glance around furtively. C.K. is looking directly at us, then turns to his side and says something...to thin air. Sebastian is also looking at us, but with sympathy.
I turn back to Isabella, "We could use this to escape!"

She nods, "I know. We could maybe stab the guard or something..."

I frown, "Maybe, or we could wait until the day guard leaves, and pick the lock! They only post a guard at the end of the hall at night."

"But Micah, it's pitch black in here at night..."

I grin, pointing at my eyes, "Because of this, I can see in the dark now, kind of!"
And remember...A portkey can be any sort of harmless object...A football...or a dolphin.

Isabella

I frowned for a moment before beginning to smile.
"You . . . You really think we can get out?" I asked.

"Of course we can," Micah smiled in return.

"Yes but we have to wait," I said, my smile beginning to fade as I took the bear from Micah.

"What? Why Isabella?" he asked frowning.

"Because we can't leave anyone behind. Especially not Nimsi or Link. Without them we wouldn't have this pen, it would be wrong to leave them. Besides, if anyone is still out for testing chances are the guards will be asked to work over time," I said, glancing towards the door. Micah nodded in silent agreement.

"Alright, we'll try it as soon as we get the chance and everyone is back in here," he said with a smile as he passed me his blanket. "Now go to sleep if your tired, I promise we wont escape without you." I smiled and took the blanket.

"Thanks Micah," I murmered.

Sebastian

I could hear them talking about running. Escaping. A noble cause, I'll give them that.

But with a pen? They've gone batshit. C.J. talking to thin air, nothing new, but the rest of them...

I'm scared that they're all losing it, or that they're already gone.

And even if we do escape, what is there? We're here without help, it's obvious that nobody cares.

But escaping. With a pen. And not dying.

Good luck with that.

I don't know how long I've been lying on this bench, only that over time the lights have gotten brighter and Dr. Crawford's talking has become harder to understand. It's not that she's speaking any diferent, only that for some reason I can no longer take in what she is saying. And boy has she been saying a lot. In fact, the only time she stopped talking was when an older doctor with ridiculously straight teeth came over to check my 'progress'.
"Excellent!" he had said, "Keep an eye on things Doctor. This will be the last subject to be tested on until I've isolated and removed the substance that caused 2431's...complication. I don't want anything going wrong." Britt had been silent, but I was still myself then and had detected a glint of relief in her body language.
Now however, my vision is slightly blurred, my head is spinning and I can't talk properly. I try to ask Britt what exactly is the matter with my body, but all that comes out is a very slurred, "What's wrong with me?"
She giggles at my speech impediment. What if I speak like this forever? Would it still be funny then?
"You're just drunk silly! Enjoy it while it lasts, because it will wear off soon. Then you'll get a hangover." She giggles again. I start to worry slightly, even in my strange carefree state. What's that thing she's talking about? A hangover?
After a few more minutes of pondering, I resign myself to not knowing. And anyway, the lights above me are too interesting what with their dancing and all. I tilt my head backwards to see Dr. Crawford. I think she's still talking.
"Britt", I interupt her, "why are you upside down?" This sets her off into hysterical laughter. I don't see why, it's a very serious problem. Unless...
"Oh God!" I continue, "I'm the one that's upside down, aren't I?" I look down at the straps holding me onto the table and say matter-of-factly, "It's a good job these are here, or I'd fall down to the floor."
That reminds me of something I've been thinking of for a while. Something to do with being held in place, not allowed to do anything...Freedom, that's it!
I once again tilt my head back to look at Dr. Crawford, who is crying. It's now very urgent that I tell her my plan. It'll stop her crying.
"Britt, it's okay. I know how we can..." I look around suspiciously. It's only Nim and Dr. Crawford in the room. Nim had gotten a big needle stuck into her, and she fell asleep soon afterwards. That means it's safe to tell Britt my plan. Although the lights have stopped dancing, and are now leaning in close, as if to hear what I'm about to say.
"Go back to your dancing, lights!" I shout at them angrily. I shake my head, and they comply, albeit reluctantly. I look back to Britt and continue where I left off. "What was I saying? Oh yeah, my plan." At this she wipes the tears from her eyes and takes a few deep breaths, but with a few impromptu giggles. I relay the rest of my proposal in a stage whisper, "So I stole a pen off of a guard, and I know how to use it so I can escape!" I beam at her, a giant grin cracking my face open. Britt's features however, are contorted in a mask of horror. I don't know why, it's a good idea. I wink at her to convince her how good an idea it is. I decide to let her realise how good an idea it is in her own time, while I rest for a while. I close my eyes and allow the spinning sensation to carry me off to sleep.

Roostangarar, you're going to have to change your post because I did mention that Dmitri left the testing theatre to see Mr. Montgomery

Dr. Abrams

Dmitri approached Mr. Montgomery’s large office and knocked on the open door. A short, pale and thin middle-aged man with salt and pepper hair and dressed in a crisp three-piece suit was seated behind his desk by the office window. He looked up at Dmitri and smiled.

“Ah, Dmitri, come on in.” He motioned to the chair opposite his desk. “Take a seat.”

Dmitri slowly walked in and sat himself down on the chair. He couldn’t help but feel a sense of trepidation come over him as he watched Mr. Montgomery calmly pour himself a hot drink.

“Green tea?” he asked.

Dmitri shook his head. “No, thank you, sir,” He said uncomfortably. He didn’t think he could deal with small talk at this moment in time. “You wanted to see me?”

Mr. Montgomery took a small sip from his teacup and nodded once. “How are the results of drug 207?”

Dmitri swallowed. “There have been...complications. The drug is already proving to fail on some of the tests subjects.”

A spell of silence fell around them. “That is disappointing to hear, Dmitri,” Mr. Montgomery finally said, placing the teacup on his desk and clasping his fingers together with a frown. “Von Ray and Crawford seemed to think that the drug was ready...”

“If I may, sir, I feel that they made a grave error in their judgement. Dr. Grey and I have only worked on the all-cure for two years. If either of us had been asked whether it was ready or not, we would have been the first to say no. Instead, we were both uninformed and the result will probably end with some of our subjects dying-”

“The subjects aren’t my concern,” said Mr. Montgomery. “They can be replaced. There are plenty of unwanted children in the world wasting away on the streets that we can pick up and use...” he trailed off and stood from his seat to face the large window of his office. “My concern is the fate of the all-cure. I do not think I need to remind you how important it is that this drug works. The world is counting on it to be a success. Our enemies, on the other hand...” Mr. Montgomery fell silent, still staring outside his window and taking in the view of the crowded city skyline. Finally, he turned back to face Dmitri. A look of seriousness plastered across his face. “My corporate spies tell me that we have a journalist hiding in our company.”

Dmitri stared back at him in complete shock. It took him almost minute to find his voice again. “Do you think it’s true?”

“It’s possible,” replied Mr. Montgomery. “I’ve known that something like it could happen. People have always been curious as to how MediSyn pharmaceutical company became so successful. The media, on the other hand, are a lot more curious about our methods...”

Dmitri remained silence. Flashing images of tortured test subjects, broken and screaming in pain, whilst others lay dead on the operating tables went through his head. If the world were to ever find MediSyn’s ‘methods’, the company would be over. “What are you going to do about it, sir?” he asked Mr. Montgomery, “How are you going to find out who this journalist is?”

“My spies will be paying us a visit later on in the day,” Mr. Montgomery replied. “They will be quietly observing the staff; in particular the ones that have been rumoured to show varying degrees of sympathy towards the test subjects...”

Dmitri swallowed and remained silent.

“In the meantime,” Mr. Montgomery continued, “I need you to take full charge of drug 207. Until the matter is sorted the only person I want handling drug 207, testing it, and working on the formula is you, and another doctor of your choosing that you feel you can trust. Is that understood?”

Dmitri nodded and then stood from his seat to leave.

“I shall speak with you soon,” Mr. Montgomery said, returning to his seat behind his desk. Dmitri took that as his queue to leave and hurriedly exited the office. Stepping back inside the elevator, he wiped a hand down his face, nerves pumping through every fibre of his being.

Wow guys, you've posted a lot.

But there's one problem. Should I go along with the "pen being used as a lock-pick" or the original "pen-stabbing" one. Or, should I go with Searria's Sunglasses plan? Because, the lock-picking plan is gonna make me edit my earlier post. There's also the fact about Link giving away that plan to Dr. Crawford.

So, I'll post my part as Nimsi. Because in whatever way the plot goes, she's gonna get injected by the all-cure.

Nimsi

Her world was spinning. Every muscle inside her hurt as though there were million pins stuck in them. She could feel her heart beating in her small chest. Her throat and stomach hurt from vomiting. She moaned in both pain and sadness. Although she did not have a clear idea about death, she knew that her end was nearing. Tears flowed down her cheeks, but even crying hurt her. She closed her eyes, crying silently.

A minute or two later, a gentle hand touched her hand, making her spasm in pain.

"Sweetie, it'll be alright." A soft voice spoke.

A needle pierced her skin, but the pain it gave was lost among the wreaking pain in her body.

Then, suddenly a cooling effect traveled up her arm, her shoulder, her neck and then it finally reached head. The last thing she remember before drifting into unconsciousness was overwhelming cooling sensation and her stabilizing eye sight.

After a few hours, she woke up. The pain in her body had vanished. Her world was not spinning anymore. But after a moment, she knew something was wrong. She could not feel her arms or legs. Or, to be accurate, she could not move anything other than her head.

A feeling of utter dread flashed through her. It filled her stomach like a bucket full of ice. No matter how hard she struggled, she could not move one single muscle below her neck.

"Help!" The scream that she wanted, came out as a whisper. Her throat was dry.

Knowing that she was completely helpless, she stayed there, crying uncontrollably.

Note: If I totally demolish anybody's plot ideas with this post, please let me know, and I'll remove it. :D

~C.K.~
"Now, C.K. Ask him for the sunglasses. You're just going to use them to pick the lock. How could he refuse his savior?" Christopher urged.
"Savior?" The word rolled around in C.K.'s mind. Maybe Christopher was right. Christopher was always right. He was perfect. C.K. could trust Christopher, couldn't he?
Under Christopher's threatening smile, C.K. jumped up and strutted to the center of the room where Isabella and Micah sat. His confidence depleted instantly like a severed blossom as soon as Micah lifted his head to look at him. Micah was careful to not let his gaze travel outside the boundaries of the sunglasses.
"Um, would you - I mean, could I - " C.K.'s hand went habitually to his patchy blonde hair about his jaw and turned back at Christopher. He returned the desperate silent plea with a fiery glare, making C.K. break out into a sweat.
"I need to borrow your sunglasses." The words streamed together, as if C.K. wouldn't have been able to spit them all out had he not pushed them out all at once.
Micah laughed. "Are you crazy?" He paused and his expression changed. "Let it alone, C.K."
C.K. flinched as he felt a firm hand on his shoulder. Christopher's voice slithered into his ear. "You asked nicely. Now take them."
C.K. shook his head. "No."
"Fine, then I'll leave. And this time, I'll make sure I'll never come back to you. You'll be all alone."
In a panic, C.K. lunged at Micah, clawing at his face in a flailing attempt to grab hold of the glasses.
"What are you doing?" Isabella cried, trying to pull C.K. away. His finger grazed the edge of the glasses, knocking them from Micah's face. The boy screamed, throwing his arms across his eyes.
"C.K.!" Isabella yanked on his arm, but he was still reaching for the sunglasses, which lay just beyond his fingertips on the floor. He turned and struck Isabella across the face, and she fell back. The pen tumbled out of her sleeve.
The door opened, and Dr. Grey rushed in. The pen was in reach. Christopher was yelling. Micah was screaming in pain. Isabella was crying. Dr. Grey was running towards him. Christopher was shouting at him. The pen. Christopher was leaving. No. He couldn't leave. C.K. seized the pen, stood, closed his eyes, thrust the into Dr. Grey's chest. Weak, he dropped to his knees. Three guards stormed into the room, one of them catching Dr. Grey as she stumbled back, gasping for breath.
The other two guards pulled C.K. up by his hair, pinning his hands behind his back, and dragged him towards the door.
Christophers husky voice penetrated all the commotion and whispered in C.K.'s ear.
"I'm proud of you, C.K."
C.K. smiled. Tears streamed down his face.

Dr. Abrams

Dmitri didn’t have long to digest his conversation with Mr. Montgomery. By the time he returned back to the lab, he could see chaos all around him. The number of guards stationed there seemed to have tripled; half were standing by with their weapons pointed threateningly at the test subjects, whilst the other half of the guards were frantically emptying out cells and turning over mattresses.

“What’s going on?” he asked one of the guard’s stationed next to him.

“One of the test subjects decided to stab Dr. Grey with a pen.”

“What?” Dmitri snapped.

The guard continued. “Where the little rat managed to get the damn thing from is anyone’s guess.”

Dmitri couldn’t believe what he was hearing. At that moment, he spotted Dr. Crawford hurriedly walk past him and decided to follow after her to get some answers.

“Ah, Dr. Abram’s, I was just about to ring you...” Dr. Crawford said.

“Where is she?” he asked her. “Is she alright?”

Dr. Crawford continued to walk briskly as she answered, “I don’t know, the guards found her bleeding rather profusely. They took her over to one of the testing theatres in lab 5. If you would follow me, I’m on my way over there now to see if there’s anything I can do.”

Dmitri nodded and silently followed, still bewildered at the level of speed in which the turn of events had unfolded before him.

"No," I screamed, tears streaming down my face. I glared at C.K. "What have you done?"

"What . . . I just. I thought that we could. . . " he began but Micah cut him off.

"What, get away? No we had a chance but you just blew it," Micah was angry and still had his eyes shut. I picked his sunglasses up and handed them to him. "Thanks," he muttered. My eyes flickered towards the door as more Guards entered and those holding C.K. pulled him out of the room.

"What happened here?" a Guard snapped towards Micah and I. I opened my mouth, ready to admitt everything, that I'd had the pen all along.

"We don't know," Micah said calmly. "We were sitting and C.K. grabbed my sunglasses, then that pen appeared from somewhere, maybe some one dropped it on the floor earlier." At this the Guard grunted but decided to not ask any further questions.

Dr. Grey

Her mind was blank as she walked on towards the cell. She did not stop to think about the repercussions. She did not think about the way she's going to do this. She did not see or hear anything, as her legs did the walking for her.

As she neared the holding area, an ungodly noise speared through the air, jolting her out of her thoughts. It came from the holding room. She could hear people screaming and crying.

She ran towards the metal door, forgetting all about Nimsi for a minute, and drawing the key from her jeans. Fumbling with the key, she opened the door.

The next minute, everything became blurry and happened fast. The next thing she knew after she had run right into the midst of the test subjects, was the searing pain in her chest as a cold, metallic object pieced her clothes and skin, and sank right into her.

She gasped in pain, clutching the protruding pen in her hands. Blood flowed through her hands, darkening the material of her blouse. She started feeling dizzy, the her vision tilting to the sides, making her sink to the floor, onto a pool of blood. Her blood.

A pair of arms caught her from her underarms, and another pair grabbed her legs. She felt herself being carried as the darkness descended upon her.
