The August 2011 Statistical Snapshot Spectacular

Usually, August is a sleepy month for YWS. This year, however, things were quite different. Nearly every record across the board was broken. So lets take a look:

Total Topics: 1,706
New Users: 415
Profile Comments: 22,463

Total Reviews: 5,782 (new record)
Reviews greater than 500 characters: 5,280 (new record)
Reviews > 1000: 2,395 (second most)
All literary comments: 6,827 (new record)

Review Ratio: 4.05

Visits: 74,824 (new record)

Top 10 Cities:


Excluding not set, Ottawa would be number 10. Additionally, I'm pretty confident that most of those "not set" are actually from London. "Not set" didn't show up in the top 10 until a few months ago, and London began dropping in the results at the exact same time. So London is probably the number 1 city.


Top 10 Countries:


Excluding not set, Puerto Rico would be number 10. If you include Puerto Rico as an American territory, then South Africa would be number 10.

Apparently Sugar Land is a city in Texas with a huge number of YWSers for a relatively small population.

...I'm moving there.
