The Literary Journal Gifting Game

So a lot of people want a copy of the Young Writers Literary Journal but are having trouble obtaining one. In a couple cases, it's because their operating system is incompatible with any of the free Kindle apps. In other cases, it's because of geographical restrictions on Amazon or something else.

Whatever the reason, I'm starting this thread for people who want a copy of the Literary Journal but can't obtain one. I have a gift card from Amazon with $10 on it that I don't plan on spending any time soon, so if you would like me to gift you a copy of the Journal, let me know in this thread.

If anyone wants to join me in gifting, just jump on in! But lets set some ground rules:

For Recipients of Gifts

1. Quid pro quo! That is, if I scratch your back, you scratch mine. If I gift you a copy of the Journal, you must help promote it in some way. That means either mentioning it on Facebook, Twitter, to friends and family, or by posting a flyer in your local library (flyers available soon).

That's just for me though. If some other people decide to join in the gifting game, you have to do whatever they request (such as reviewing something they wrote, or promising to do 5 reviews, or being really super-cool to them).

2. Post your request here, but not your email. In order to send a gift, the sender needs your e-mail. E-mails are to be exchanged over private message only!

3. Update your post once a gifter contacts you about receiving the Literary Journal. We don't want double gifting, and you don't want to receive multiple PMs about getting a gift. So keep your post updated!

For Senders of Gifts

If you decide to join in, first post here that you are sending gifts (even if only one, which is actually quite a lot in my opinion). Then identify a recipient or two, and contact them over PM for their e-mail.

To send the gift, first go to Amazon:
http://amzn.to/ywjournal

From there, click on 'Give as a gift.' After that, just type in the e-mail, and that's that!

If you have a gift card (as I do), make sure your gift card has already been applied to your Amazon account. To do this, on Amazon, go to 'Your account.' Then in the Payment section, look for 'Apply a Gift Card to Your Account.' You can put in your gift card ID there. Now, when you go to gift you may have to use a credit card. However your credit card will not be charged as long as there is still a balance on your gift card. Amazon automatically applies any purchase to your gift card.

That's a brilliant idea! Can I have one, please?
Nate's gifting me one! :)

I'lle promote it, but no one here really 'buys' from amazon. I'd be happy to get my own hardcopy if I get a better control of my card hopefully in a year.

I can give out a copy. :D
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

I really would have loved to help- but I pulled so many strings to get one for myself that I practically can't.

I'll gift some copies and my charge is that you write two reviews, welcome one new member and send me either a YWS gift or 50 points.

Anyone up for the challenge?

I've given away four thus far, and contacted a fifth person as well. So, I still have 5 copies that I can gift.

Also, please don't be afraid to ask. I much rather spend my gift card on copies of the Journal as then 35% of what I spend goes back to YWS. However, please only ask if you are unable for one reason or another to purchase a copy of the Journal yourself. Don't treat it as a freebie!
