Just added the "Shop Amazon" links to the sidebar area on the front page. If you click on the appropriate one (.com if you live in USA, Canada if you live in Canada, UK if you live in UK... duh) before you buy something from Amazon, Amazon sends YWS a referral fee equal to 4% of the purchase price! So if you're about to buy something worth $30 on Amazon, go back to YWS and click on the right link. That then results in YWS earning $1.20 at no cost to you!

Lets go over this step by step again:

1. Shop on Amazon
2. Before you buy, come back to YWS
3. Click on the Shop Amazon link in the sidebar
4. Finish buying on Amazon
5. Amazon sends YWS a referral fee of 4%

Still confused? Here's a shorter version:
1. Click on the Shop Amazon link in the sidebar
2. Buy stuff on Amazon
3. YWS = Happy

Still confused?
1. Click "Shop Amazon" in sidebar
2. Buy stuff
3. Yay YWS!

STILL confused?
1. Click "Shop Amazon"
2. Buy

That's as short and simple as I can make it. Remember, this is at no cost to you whatsoever! It's just an easy and incredibly cheap way to help YWS.

I do this when I pick up textbooks for classes! As well as extra entertainment, of course. :3 It's all incredibly cool though. Yay, Amazon!

Good thing I saw this post before purchasing that million-dollar property I've had my eye on!

By the way, if anyone was considering buying a $120,000 7 caret diamond ring, here's a link. I highly recommend it!

It's really cool how amazon has referral programs like this. I know some people in the computer hardware industry that make a small bit of money from this, so it's nice to see YWS doing it as well.

What's better than buying books and then still helping your favorite site?

Out of curiosity, will it work through amazon.de (Germany branch) too? I'll be using that one starting in August (studyabroadstudyabroadstudyabroadtrynottodieofexcitement), and it'd be a shame if it didn't count. I could be buying a lot of stuff.

Nope. In order for it to work, I'd have to sign up for the Amazon Germany Associates program and then add the link to amazon.de on the front page. Unfortunately, it's probably not worth it unless you're planning on buying more than $500 worth of stuff (if you are, send me a PM and I'll set it up). Amazon doesn't send out checks until your account has $20 in it, and at a 4% referral rate, that means people need to buy $500 worth of goods.

Drats. Not planning on buying that or more. Maybe I'll just stock up on stuff while I'm still here in the States.

I just came here to ask about amazon.de too as I tend to buy things from there from time to time although I wouldn't be able to manage $500 on my own either. I guess for the few number of people that would us it and the amount of time it would take for any cash-out, it's probably wouldn't be worth the hassle of setting up.
please grant me my small wish; (love me to the marrow of my bones)

Someone bought a lot of books last night, so thank you anonymous!

By the way, Amazon.com is giving away Amazon Prime free for one year to college and grad students:
Free Amazon Prime

Prime is really cool because it's free two-day shipping, and you get Prime Instant Video which is a lot like Netflix. It's normally $80 per year, but even at that rate it's worth it.
