Tess:

Sweet cheeks? Sweet cheeks? That big, fat, lousy-
Ohh. Maybe he did know how to make a campfire...
He said five minutes but I couldn't wait that long. I hurried up and grabbed all of the fruits and vegetables and had Everlee make some water for the stew and poured it all into a large pot, which had currently been being used as my suitcase. I sit and wait. It's only been 2 minutes.
Finally, after 1 long minute after, i lost patiece and began cooking. Nobody argued. Soon we had a nice pot of stew. I called everybody who was awake over and dished them up in some bowls that had taken me months to carve.
"It's a little undercooked." Everlee said, making a face.
"Well...numnumnum...I was hungry." i said with a full mouth.
I felt better and smiled contetedly, looking up at the stars.

Thanks razzle! Hope it's okay how I depicted Davnick.

The day had fallen into darkness by the time Niyah finally entered the forest on the outskirts of the city. Night had awoken, opening its dark maw and encasing the earth in shadow. Shadow. Niyah had always hated the dark. It seemed as if it were alive, consuming all in its path. Darkness meant Death. Death.
Niyah blinked, shaking her head. She hated being alone, because it was when you were alone that your mind took control. And Niyah was afraid of what she’d start thinking about.
Eisen, are you there? Niyah thought quietly.
Yes.
Will you please, please just talk to me. It doesn’t matter what about. Just…Please? Eisen was silent a moment longer, before replying:
Of course.
He began to talk about earlier that day, how destroyed the main square was after the huge fight that occurred there. Niyah smiled her pace picking up. With Eisen at her side she could do anything. Without him, Niyah wouldn’t know what to do. The only thing that frightened Niyah more than the dark was being alone.
…and I have no idea what possessed you to by a skirt, of all things.
Niyah blinked, coming back from her thoughts. She looked down at the outfit she’d purchased at the market. A white button up shirt, a flowy pink skirt, and a pair of lace up black boots.
“What about it?”
Do you want your skirt to fly up whenever you’re running? Or when you jump?
Niyah stopped walking. What Eisen was saying had never occurred to her.
“I just thought it was pretty.”There was a sort rusteling in the bushes, and a figure appeared through the darkness.
“Listen, I know your there and I wont…” It was a man’s voice. She launched forward.
Hang on Eisen!
Niyah jumped in the air, doing a front flip and kicking out towards her assailants face. The man dodged-and with a shock Niyah realized that her opponent was much faster than she had thought- but her foot hit his shoulder and pushed him backward. Niyah landed, taking his momentary off balance as a chance to hit him with her final blow, and rushed forward with her arm pulled back. Her fist shot forward, hitting him square in the jaw and sending him sprawling on the ground. Niyah automatically pulled Eisen from her boot, kneeling and holding the dagger against the man’s throat.
“Ow. You got me good.” The man laughed, rubbing his jaw. Niyah glared.
“Who are you and what do you want?” she demanded.
“I don’t want anything. Except for you to turn around and go back to wherever you came from.”
“No.”
“No?” The man sighed. “Well to bad. Because you don’t have a choice.”
“Out of the two of us, I don’t think you’re in a position to tell me what I can or cannot do.” The man chuckled.
“That’s what you think.” His hand shot up, grabbing Niyah’s and pulling it away from his throat. Niyah fought, but he was too strong. He pulled her hand completely to the ground. For a moment, Niyah was too shocked to move. This man was strong. So strong, in fact, that he could have easily lifted her off of him and beaten her to a pulp. But he didn’t. Instead, he gazed up at her with an amused look on his face. Niyah pushed her thought away.
“Oh no you don’t.” Niyah gasped. She twisted her hand from his, and promptly moved up his body so that she was sitting upon his chest with her legs blocking his arms. “I rather hoped it wouldn’t come to this. But desperate times call for desperate measures.” She repositioned Eisen against the man’s jugular. “Now tell me… who are you and what do you want from me?” The man’s gaze briefly met hers, and then moved back to the glinting blade at his throat. He swallowed.
“Well, if this isn’t an impossible situation…”
“Who…What? What’s going on?” A young woman stepped out form the darkness, eyes bright in the pale light that filtered between the canopy of leaves. She stood there, glancing back and forth between Niyah and the man.
“I sensed her coming towards the camp. I tried to stop her but…”
“You got your behind kicked by a girl! Wait until the others hear about this!” The girl cried, laughing. Below her, the man glared daggers.
“Just help me out Everlee! And anyway, you don’t know the whole story. She’s a girl, and she seemed hungry…” Niyah stood, realizing the man was not hostile. But she continued gripping Eisen anyway.
“Have you seen a group of Rouges come through here? They’re probably all really hostile and strong, and there are a lot of them…”
“A lot?” the guy snorted.
“Hostile?”Everlee shook her head. “And what would you be doing looking for a bunch of rogues?” Niyah looked down at the little dagger in her hand, running her fingers over the hilt.
“I’m one too. I just, I just don’t want to be alone anymore.” Silence filled the night, and Niyah felt her cheeks heat.
I’m so stupid. These people wouldn’t know where those rogues are!
Calm down Niyah. Eisen murmured at the back of her mind. Niyah took a deep breath, following his orders.
“Well then, you’ve come to the right place.” The girl strode forward, hand outstretched. ‘I’m Everlee. And that mass of wasted space over there is Davnick.” Niyah expected the man to protest, but he didn’t. Instead he just stood there, a cocky smile playing at his lips.
“You’re the rogues who were in the city yesterday?” The girl nodded.
“Yep, and now you’re one of us. “She said with a kind smile. Davnick walked past, leading the way.
“Welcome to the club.” He chuckled.

Reva

I looked up to see Davnick coming back with some good wood and a... Girl. Everlee was right behind her. Another one? Where were these people coming from? It was like they were just appearing! Every single time Davnick walked away something else happened to him and someone joined the group! "Who are you?" I asked point blank.

Rude, Reva.

You were fine with it when it was Rayden.

He's different.

I shook my head and ignored him, still waiting for an answer.

"N-Niyah."

"Hungry?" I held out my untouched bowl of stew.

She took it and I looked at her. She looked tougher the longer I looked. Maybe not a girl, but a young woman, and one that had been forced to mature quickly. She would probably feel more at ease without me around. It wasn't like I was good conversation anyway.

I stood and started to back out of camp, no one even noticed me leaving. That was just the way I liked it. I didn't need to be invisible around them, it came naturally I guess. I started patrolling around the camp, we were too close to civillization(sp?) for my taste, and I wanted to be sure that we would be safe. I stayed near camp, regardless. If someone was going to attack I wasn't going out to them and making myself a target. My stunning light was less effective in the darkness anyway.

I heard a twig snap behind me and whirled, prepared to light up some daggers. Darsor, someone is here. Warn the others. I murmured, trying to peer through the darkness. Whoever it was had no idea what was about to hit them. I built up the biggest surge of light I had ever used before and waited...

SNAP!

And released.

Whoever it was they couldn't see anymore, and wouldn't be able to for a while. Blinded them. I told Darsor smugly and launched myself at the man. He pounded his fist into my chest as I collided with him but clearly wasn't expecting a flying attack because he fell to the ground with a grunt. But I wasn't doing much better. His hit had knocked the wind out of me, but being short of breath had never stopped me before. I created a light dagged and plunged it into his leg at the exact same time he rolled me over and punched me. In seconds the battle had escalated into wrestling in the mud and dirt, and with each second my fury grew. No doll resisted my attack! Never! I punched him in the face and he rolled me, right over a small cliff that was next to our camp. In moments we were free falling and I followed my instincts to survive: I rolled onto his back and twisted his arm into a wrist lock. He would hit the ground hard, but I would hardly feel it. SLAM! The jolt shocked me, but he was trapped, and I may have broken his arm. We landed right outside camp.

"Threat eliminated." I said, holding him in place. "Everlee or Tess, care to cuff him?"

Fading, that seemed a tad harsh for Everlee, but that's fine :D She's been having a rough time.

Everlee

“Yep, and now you’re one of us," I say with a smile. Davnick walks pass me and leads the way back to the camp.

"Welcome to the club,” He chuckles.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Niyah," she answers.

I nod. "Well come on with us and we'll get you some food and a warm place to sleep. Davnick," I call. "You don't need to bring back much firewood. Rayden handled it." Davnick grunts and walks away, probably to get more firewood still.

I wait for Niyah to get up to follow me before I start to walk.

You were a little harsh, don't you think? Darren says.

I know, I say with a sigh.

Darren's quiet for a moment. You're really tired. You should get some sleep.

I will, I promise. After, and only after everyone is fed. And perferably after everyone else is asleep.

You haven't been sleeping well lately. Everyone will understand if you take a break.

I haven't slept well in years. And I don't think sleep will come easily two days before we attack.

You might as well try, Darren says.

After dinner. I say.

Darren shakes his head. Right after dinner.

Fine.

Darren grunts but ends the conversation.

And I'll make it up to Davnick for calling him a waste of space.

That would be a good idea. Darren agrees.

We walk back into camp. Reva walks up to meet Niyah. Probably a bad idea to leave them alone, but Reva was gone in just a second.

I walk over and sit next to Skylar again. There was rustling behind the first layer of trees before Reva rolled out.

"Everlee or Tess, care to cuff him?" She calls, sitting on top of a man/

You've got to be freaking kidding me! Darren growls. You never are going to get to rest, are you?

I nod and get up, running over to her. Darren gets to his feet and follows me. We rush to where Reva is.

"What happened?" I demand.

"He attacked me in the forest!" Reva explains.

I look at the man, obviously in pain. "Get off of him," I say, refusing to cuff him. Reva glares at me, but stands up.

"Now who are you?" I ask, this time speaking nicely.

Alec

I look up to the rogue Reva called over, my arm was throbbing in pain from the lock she put me in. She probably broke it the horrible snot rag. The rogue was Everlee! She was worth millions! "I- I'm Alec." I said, putting extra fear into my voice, and cradling my not hurt arm to my chest, where I have a throwing dagger hidden. I moved as quickly as I could, snatching it out and throwing it at her, but I was too slow. Reva leapt over me and slammed into Everlee, making my dagger miss it's mark and hit Reva in the shoulder.

"Stay down Everlee." Reva snarled and turned to me. "I have this wretched bit of filth." She reached behind her and ripped the dagger from her back.

What was she steel?

I got my answer in the next second as she slammed her fist down on the joining of my neck and shoulder, and I was out like a candle suddenly drenched.

Reva

I looked down at his now limp figure and turned back to Everlee. "Are you alright?" I asked, kneeling beside her. "I didn't hurt you did I?"

Tess:

I walked over to the now unconcious man.
"Does anybody else think it's so weird how many people have been joining us lately? And how many have been knocked out?" I said, but nobody listens.
"Who do you think he is?" Sheara asked, shrinking back, not in fear, in caution.
"Well, he's a doll, so he's probably a bounty hunter." Everlee said, standing up. I lean down and hand-cuff him. Just because Everlee didn't want to, didn't mean that i wasn't going to do it.
Once he was securely frozen to the ground i went back to my eating.
"so...What do we do with him?" i shot a look to Jared. "And no, we are not killing anybody."
He glared at me. "ii was not going to say that!"
"Well you said it with Davnick."
"But that was different. We knew who he was, but we don't know who he is." He pointed to the man.
Everlee bent down and began healing him. Reva began to protest, but realized she wouldn't listen, and walked away to herself.
That was Everlee. Working all day, trying to help everybody else, even people throwing daggers at her face.

Everlee

"I didn't hurt you did I?" Reva asks. I shake my head before Tess comes over. I listen to her and Jared bicker while I kneel down and begin to heal the injured doll.

He tried to kill you, Darren says, in warning, not in protest.

I know.

Don't you think that he'll try again? Darren asks.

Probably. I say.

"I don't think his arm is broken," I say out loud. "But, you really twisted it up."

A moment later I get to my feet.

Now, go get some sleep. Darren orders.

"Alright," I say outloud. "Let's take shifts watching him. I'll go first."

No! Darren yells.

What? I ask. I'll go first and then get some sleep.

No! No, no, no, no!! Darren growls.

I ignore him and sit down, leaning against a rock beside Alec.

Reva

Once Everlee declared that I hadn't broken his arm, I was tempted to snap it in half just to prove a point. He deserved every ounce of pain I gave him for attacking Everlee. I had attacked her too, but that was by accident and now, now I wouldn't tolerate anybody hurting her. Or even Tige for that matter. I looked around camp trying to decide who I could allow to get hurt and who I couldn't. Tige was a definite no, he was too wise and forgiving for pain, and the same went with Seena, the kind doll turned rogue. Tess, as prickly as she was, was not allowed to be hurt either. She gave all she had for our little resistance. Skylar, he wasn't a primary target anyway, but I couldn't allow him that either. Sheara was a huge no. She was too innocent and sweet. Dav could take it, but didn't deserve it. Not anymore. Darsor had been a fat no for years. Elise was also a no, she was accepting and strong and kind. Jared, I suppose not. And Rayden. I eyed him. I might let him get hurt. I didn't know him after all.

It was decided. I was staying awake all night, regardless of who was on watch. Just to be certain that this Alec Musetta didn't cause any of my friends harm.

Has he harmed you? Darsor asked, watching me intently.

For the first time, I lied to him. No. The dagger didn't pierce flesh, only cloth.

Good.
And he settled in to sleep.

I let his calm seep in and soothe my outrage. Everlee wasn't hurt. All was well. But the doll... I turned back to Alec and glared. The moment he woke up he would regret having come here for bounty. I would make absolute certain of that.

Davnick

I walk into the clearing where we have made camp just in time to hear Tess and Jared talking.

"And no, we are not killing anybody." Tess snaps.

"I was not going to say that!" Jared defends.

"Well, you said that with Davnick." She shoots back.

"But that was different. We knew who he was, but we don't know who he is."

I had moved up behind Jared, so I was right behind him when I spoke. "I probably know him, if he's a bounty hunter. Small community." Jared jumps about three feet in the air and nearly lands in the fire. He mumbles something about 'scared the crap outta me...' and I laugh. I turn to Tess. "What do you think? Is he dangerous?"

To my surprise, she blushes. "How would I know, stupid? You're the bounty hunter, you go talk to him!" I smile. I'm starting to get used to her warped way of showing affection. I drop the fire wood I'd gotten next to the pile Rayden had apparently grabbed. I'm glad to see that mine is of a slightly higher quality for burning, but not by much. I straighten, and walk over to where Everlee is healing the now unconcious man.

I pass Niyah on my way there. She's eating some stew, and looking around, not scared but not ntirely comfortable either. I pause. "Hey." She looks at me. "I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to scare you, I thought you already know I was there. I'd forgotten it was dark." She gave me a funny look. "I'm a Darkness Rogue." I explain.

She looks taken aback and mumbles something about death and darkness, and I feel my heart constrict. That is a pet peave of mine, when people think the darkness is evil. The night is more alive than the day, most people just can't see it. I remember when my father would take me outside when there was a new moon, and he would help me practice my sonar. We got to be a good enough team that we could hunt in the dark...

"Thank you." Niyah says, politely. I nod and walk over to Everlee, who has finished her healing and is now keeping watch.

"Hey, I just want to see if I know this guy." Everlee nods, and I see the bags under her eyes. I kneel down and inspect the unconcious man. I recognize him almost immeadietly and sigh. "Alec Musetta." I say.

Everlee looks at me. "Who?"

"He's a boutny hunter alright, and a pretty good one too. Nice guy, as far as I've heard, but greedy. Raised in a bad part of a large city. Sheesh, isn't this supposed to be a secret rebellion, or is this going to turn into a full fleged Rogue War?"

Everlee sighs. "I really don't know." She looks tired and... depressed. I stand and walk over to her.

"Hey, I just want you to know, you're doing a really great job as our leader. I don't know many people who could put up with our strange group, and constant... guests." I say, looking over at Musetta. When I look back, I see Everlee looking at me with shock.

"I... I..." She can't seem to find her words. "Thank you." She says, tears in her eyes. "And I'm sorry, for calling you a waste of space earlier. I... I didn't mean it." I smile.

"I know. You're tired. So," I say, standing and holding out my hand for her. "Why don't you get some rest? I'll look after our new friend." She starts to protest, but I talk over her. "I've been asleep all day. You go get some rest. That wasn't a request, ma'am." She just looks at me for a minute, then smiles and takes my hand.

"Good night Davnick." She says, walking over to Skylar and sitting down. She leans against his shoulder and the two begin talking quietly.

"Good night." I whisper, sitting down where I can see my fellow hunter. I don't know where Seena went, and Sheara is already falling asleep by the fire, Poca curled up next to her. I smile at the two, and prepare myself for my shift of watching.

It feels good to be useful.

Rayden Thorn:

"You know The biblical command to be fruitful and multiply doesn't apply to you bounty hunters."I said dryly form my seat across from Davnick. He looks up at me eyes narrowing. "Wow I did a number on your face didn't I? you look like crap." I added grinning ruefully.

"Talking about yourself Thorn?" he says with a small smile, I chuckle.

"You have a fist like a mules kick-" I pause, what was his name again?

"Davnick." he says after a moment. "I'm Davnick, Thorn.

"Rayden." I said, he gave me nod then said innocently

"You can go to sleep if you want to Th-Rayden." I grinned in earnest at him this time.

"And leave you alone? Hell no!" He chuckled and we settle into silence. after a few moments he broke it.

"Nice guitar- you make it?"

"No, It was my fathers, he gave it to me when I turned eleven. Do you play?" he shook his head.

"No I never learned, my father-" he trailed off and I feared I hit a sore subject. I thought around for something to say.
"Well you better learn, Seena likes music." His head snapped up eyes narrowing again, he looked at me out of their corners.

"You offering to teach me?" At this I laughed outright.

"Heck no! I'm not going to make it easy for you to get her! Not by any stretch of the imagination." now it was his turn to look rueful.

"Your going to make it a nightmare for me, aren't you?" I said nothing but smiled and leaned back playing quietly again.

...You have no idea Davnick....
