Memorial Fund in Memory of Conrad Rice

On July 8, 2011, our friend Conrad Rice passed away. If you wish, more information is available by clicking here.

In memory of him, YWS has set up a memorial fund to make a donation in Conrad Rice's name to First Book. First Book is a charitable foundation based in Washington, DC that provides new books to children in need. You can donate to the fund by going here:

Wow, someone donated $114 last night. It's an anonymous donation so I can't tell who it is, but thank you.

This means that the $250 goal has been met, which is awesome. However, still please consider donating. As I said in my blog, even donating a $1 goes a long way. This topic has attracted 24 likes, and with only 5 people donating thus far, I know we can do more.

I am Sherry Rice and I am Conrad's sister. This is such an awesome thing to see. He would have loved to donate if he was around to do so. I am honored to have been his sister and humbled by everyones' donations to this cause. I have never heard of it until now but I truly support it. I know Conrad loved to read and he wanted to spread his love of reading to people. So thank you for this. It is so sweet. I hope everyone is doing well.

Sherry, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. None of us knew Conrad Rice except online, but he was a friend to many of us. Please pass on our regards and sympathies to your family.
