(OOC: "What do you mean you don't know?" Is sooooo very Aaron)
Aaron

"Whoa," I stumbled back a bit. "Dude, say something next time, okay? That looks serious." Ouch, that's gotta hurt.
What a shame,

(OOC: sorry is so long. Didn't know how to break it up without making some of it not happen.)

Xia's footsteps echo loudly against the walls of the corridor. Every step makes me wince, because it will get us caught. Finally, I can't take it anymore.
"Xia, take your shoes off. Walk on your toes, it's quieter. We're going to get caught before we even leave." I speak in a whisper, but I can see in her face she knows I'm serious.
Now that it's quieter, I can hear more around me. I can't tell where we are. I've never been here before.
My brain screams at me to look around, but I don't know what that would accomplish. Finally, my mind rules out over my common sense. I look closely at the doors. They have bolts and locks on them, many more than usual. They're mostly soundproofed, but I can here someone in that room. I know it's a test subject, and a guard. I've heard of this happening before. I remember a girl trying to escape...I was thirteen. I've since dismissed the memory as a dream, because no one talked about it. Now I know it is real.
The guard speaks to calmly, his voice is to quiet to hear through the bad soundproofing. The test subject is saying "I don't know! I don't know!" every time the guard speaks. This repeats twice before the test subject stops talking. I hear chains rattle. Is he unconscious? Footsteps near the door.
Xia is kneeling right beside me, trying to hear what I hear. "What's going on in there?" she asks me. She must not be able to hear it.
"Get away from the door," I whisper. She obeys as I crawl backwards. "Can you fight a guard, with help?" She nods. "Walk over there." I point to the left. She does. I move a tiny bit in the opposite direction. The footsteps stop and I know the guard is right through the door. "Scream."
She screams as loud as she can, and the door bursts open. It's a real ugly guard, but he looks strong as well. He isn't facing my way. I wait until he lifts his right foot to take a step, and I kick his left knee out. Same as with the doctor. He reaches for his plasma gun, (it fell out of his pocket when he tumbled to the ground,) but Xia kicked it away. He grabbed her foot and tried to pull it out from under her while he stood. I jumped up and laced my fingers around his neck, pulling them tight and hoping he'd go unconscious from lack of air soon. He dropped Xia's foot to try to get my hands away from his throat. She regained her balance, and I saw her reach for the plasma gun and point it at him. He finally forced me to let go, and I fell to the floor, feigning unconsciousness. When I knew he was faced away, I reached for my knife. I opened my nearly useless eyes and stared at him. I have one chance. I start running silently, preparing to jump. I shout, and he turns. I plunge to knife into the place where his shoulder meets his neck, feeling sick at the thought of what I'm doing.
He falls, and I show none of my emotion on my face. Xia probably thinks I'm heartless, but I refuse to show how weak I am. I hated the idea of killing, but I guess I had no other choice. We would've gone into a torture room, or we would have been killed. Both, probably.
I shove the thought out of my mind and walk to the boy in the room. He's still unconscious, and the chains holding him up are cutting into his wrists and hands. Little beads of blood are forming on his pale wrists. The keys are on the floor. I unlock the chains and support whoever-it-is so he doesn't fall to the floor.
A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes. I screamed aloud as it tore through them and now it's left me blind.

(OOC: Yay Storm and Xia!!! Thanks so much Bela ;) )

Drustan:
I woke up to feeling myself being half-carried half-dragged down the hallway. I didn't open my eyes, so my captor wouldn't know that I was awake. I couldn't feel any shackles on my wrists (though they were bleeding where I'd had them) and although where the shock-bat had touched me was tender and in pain I knew that I didn't have any major injuries.

I snapped open my eyes and kicked out with my legs, letting myself fall to the floor then roll back onto my feet. I turned to find two girls staring at me, one with reddish hair on the ground (but quickly getting up) where I'd kicked her to, and the other standing in a defensive position, waiting for me to attack her.

Before I got in a fight that I probably wouldn't win I asked, "Who are you?"

(OOC: Yeah, that is a fight you wouldn't win!!)

Storm:
The pale kid is awake. "Who are you?" he says.
"Storm," I say. "And Xia." I turn to Xia and mock-whisper, "You'd think he would be grateful that we rescued him."
"Shut up," she tells me. "Sorry," she says, addressing our pale friend. "She's kinda..."
"Mental?" I suggested. I start laughing and it sounds a bit like a crazy person. I can't help it, I'm still pretty high on the adrenaline from the fight. I take a deep breath and calm myself. "Sorry."
Xia and the tall pale guy are staring at me. I turn around and keep walking for two reasons. One is to get away from where they'll be looking for us. The other is to hide the redness of my cheeks.
Then I notice the alarms are going off on this floor. Guards will start pouring in any moment. "Think fast!" My mind is screaming. "No, really?" I scream back. I think I might have screamed aloud, but there's not time to think about it.
I look around for an exit, but my eyes aren't any better. "Is there an exit anywhere?" I ask. For once, I'm screaming, not whispering. They know where we'll be anyways.
"There's stairs leading up over there," pale kid says, pointing. He sounds so calm. Unlike me.
"Then GO!" I say. They both start running. I run after them, closing the door and taking quieter steps than they can. At least I have that talent.
We're somewhere in the East Wing. Medication testing, mainly. Great. I've got to get out of here.
"What's your name?" I'm back to whispering as a talk to the tall one.
"Drustan," he says. Then we're all back to running.
A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes. I screamed aloud as it tore through them and now it's left me blind.

(OOC: You do know that the first time the alarms went off is because of Drustan, right? This is the second time, right?)

Drustan:
"What's your name?" Storm whispers.

"Drustan." I say, then continue running, looking back every once in a while to make sure the girls are still behind me.

We eventually get to an 3-way intersection.

"North or South?" I ask, stopping for a second to catch my breath.

We hear the clomping of many boots coming from the left (South) and immediately run North. Turning corners and racing past doorway we finally pass an air vent.

"Wait!" I stop at the air vent, "anyone have anything we can break-" I notice it's only attached by two rusty screws. How the GC made a mistake like that, I don't know. It's good for us, and bad for them though.

Storm notices the screws too, "C'mon." She grabs the thing and starts to pull on it.

I grab it too and pull with her while Xia comes next to me and tugs.

(OOC: in part because of you, but also because I killed a guard. They probably aren't happy about that. Also, we're on the same floor as the other guys were when they entered the vents. Just so you know.)

Storm:
It seems like forever before the stupid vent comes off. I give Xia my knife and tell her to return it when we get... wherever we're going. Then I tell her to go first. She crawls into the opening in the wall.
"You next," I tell Drustan. I think most people would question this if anyone else said it. I guess I'm good at being a leader, because almost no one questions me.
Drustan crawls into the vent next. "Don't look back," I call softly into the vent. Then I grab the grenade I've been hiding in my pocket and pull out the pin. The guards are coming up the stairs, and this has to be timed perfectly. I count to seven and throw the grenade at the ceiling above the stairs. I hear it explode as I turn and scramble into the vent. No time to waste admiring my work.

(OOC: Aaaw, ok.)

Drustan:
As I followed Xia into the vent I heard a large BOOM! behind us but kept crawling since Storm had told me to not look back. I finally heard her clanking along the vent tunnel behind me after my ears stopped ringing.

"So. Anyone know where we're going?" I asked, my voice painfully loud even though I'd said it quietly.

"Nope. You?" Asked Storm in that weird tone of voice that was kind of I'm-kinda-excited-about-the-whole-predicament-that-we're-in-but-I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing, it unnerved and amused me.

"No."

We kept crawling in the tunnel. Finally, though, we came to a place that looked kind of familiar to me.

"Hey, I think I've been here before... Can I lead?"

"Sure." Xia said quietly.

"Thanks." I said as I slipped past her.

I recognized the walls of the tunnels now and we finally came to the place where there was some black burn-marks that signified my couple of shots I'd blasted out of my plasma gun before I was captured.
I bent down to where the others had gone down a ladder. It looked like Judd had blasted it closed though and the metal was all melted.

"Shoot. He melted the metal." I muttered.

"What do you mean?" Storm asked.

"My...." I couldn't really call him a friend, "fellow escapee, Judd, melted this metal."

"How?" Asked Xia.

"Oh. He was born here and has... Um... Mutated, I guess."

I tried not to display my shock on my face. My voice keeps betraying me. Ever since this Drustan kid showed up, I can't control it.
A deep breath. Calm. Emotionless.
"Mutated?" I asked. Why can't I control my stupid voice?! Curses float around in my head, but I don't say any of them. That's too straightforward, and I can't let them know I feel as strongly as I do.

(OOC: finally! You guys are close enough that I can do something besides stalk the forums :) )

Aaron

I heard voices from above us, up the air vent. Girl's voices, and one that sounded a lot like Drustan. Had he escaped again? These scientists really were doing a horrible job of keeping us captured. Perfect. I grinned.
"Be right back," I said to the others, and started to climb back up the ladder. I stuck my head out of the shaft.
"Hey," I said. "Got any more of those grenades? I have a feeling we're gonna need them." I nodded to Drustan. "Welcome back."

(OOC: if this contradicts with something else, tell me and we can pretend it didn't happen. I think it's okay but I haven't looked at the earlier posts for a while . . .)

(OOC: yeah, Judd sealed the vent Sar-Sar...)

Drustan:

Storm looked shocked for a second then her face became emotionless. I wasn't even sure if she'd even been shocked since she showed it for such a short amount of time. Xia, on the other hand, seemed to be only a little shocked but it looked like she was holding it in.

"Yeah..." I continued, "I'm not sure how he got that way but he seems to be able to control these electrical bolts coming from his hands. It's a kinda scary, but very useful."

They were both quiet for a moment.

"Well. What are we going to do now?" Asked Xia.

"Um... Anyone have anything that can melt or cut metal, or do you think there's not enough melted so we can bend it out of our way?"

(OOC: Bela + Sar-Sar, remember, the opening has been kinda melted shut.... And Bela (or qaralynn) you'll have to reply and when you do make sure you say if we can bend the vent-door-thingy open or if we should try to find another place to get in. OR Sar-Sar or sylverdawn get Judd to re-open the vent-door-thingy.)
