Problem with that: Some of these people are in their twenties. School = Nono when you're twenty. And to be honest, I really don't want a high school sort of thing, I'm living it now.
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

xD It's a good idea though! I give you props for that :).

And I'm sorry I didn't start this last night. Migraine :(.

So, I'm thinking, we could all meet sporatically. Like someone posts something like 'my characters on the subways' (more eloquently, of course) and someone else joins them. Just be creative! It could be interesting to see where this goes!

By the way, everyone. Any further discussion will be had in the official DT. This is the link:

Ok, Ean should be on the trail of some Imp preferably in some dark alley with grim orange neon lights and shadows that seem to follow you. by the way; Do Darkling and Imps have any special powers or abilities?

Not really. Kamas said that she thinks that Darklings and Imps should be able to be seen when they feel like being seen but are always seen by the Seers. I fell inlove with the idea ;D. So yeah. How about you are on the trail of either Titus or Emma. They'll both be somewhere near Brady soas we can all start relatively near.

So near, Brady could become friends with your character? Because Brady is such a link between Imps and Darklings, ne?

Alright, so this will be our first post of the storybook! Any questions, please take them to the DT.

Brady:

It was raining.

Brady, sitting on the subway with his hands in his pockets and his eyes staring wearily at the window-pane, popped a mint in his mouth and reached his hand over to grasp the small frail one beside him. One of which was cold to the touch and clammy for whatever reasons he couldn't tell. His felt the same though. He knew it did.

"Em, we're almost there," he said, flicking his eyes to meet her exuberant ones, "and its raining. You sure you don't want to wait for a better day?"

Her lips pulled into a sweet, very gentle smile, quivering softly though not enough to make anyone question. "No, I haven't been to Central Park in ages."

He shook his head, the closed umbrella pressed against his calve just waiting to be opened. Mother wouldn't be happy about this. She hated it when he walked in the rain.

"And you're okay with it?" she asked. He question was very soft and calm but worriful. She was sick to. He knew that and it scared him more than his own sickness. "I mean... if you don't want to..."

"No, no, I really do," he replied, smiling widely. "Its nice to be away from home."

"Good," she smiled.

I dropped my bag next to the fountain in the park and followed suit. My behind was wet know, but that didn't matter. My umbrella was hardly offering protection from the rain that beat down mercilessly on everything. I reach into my bag and pulled out a small box of candies, gummy bears. I smirked slightly and popped one in my mouth.

I hadn't let the rain wash out my daily walk through the park. If it wasn't for this I'd never leave the house! Save work of course. I glanced at my watch and shrugged. I didn't have anything today. I propped the umbrella on the ground to cover my bag and laid on the ledge of the fountain, so I was staring up at the sky. I was already wet, so it made no difference.

I decided I was tired enough to just close my eyes for a few moments. There weren't many people out today and those who were... well they were rushing to get out of the rain. So I let my eyes slip shut, just resting them.

The alley was dark and damp from the rain. Freaking gallons of the stuff drenched my coat as I stepped pass graffiti stained walls and grimy neon signs. I pushed my long wet bangs out of the way and tried to focus on the task at hand. The imp was a tricky one: I had been chasing it for almost 6 months now, from Berlin to Paris to New York. I had been careful not to let her notice me, but it was tricky to keep on top of her as she kept running.

I rounded another corner but still found now sign of the creature. I knew it had assumed the form of a dark-haired teen, but that was the description for over half the population of this dismal city. Suddenly a noise to my left cause me to whip around to a face a smaller alley. The gutter sent heaps of dirty rain water down upon the floor, wait not the floor, something was lying there. Fast as a striking cobra I was on it. For a while it was just fumbling clothes and then....a grimy face. A grimy human face; stinking of nicotine and alcohol.

I stepped up in disgust. I couldn't believe that anyone actually fought (past tense of fight i hope) for these creatures survivals. Half of the entire race was starving and homeless; the other half greedy and corrupt on power. I had seen it; I have hunted Imps through the African Plains, where scrawny little children died in the streets, and I've walked across the beaches of California where men boast about their athleticism for sex, and little fat children whine endlessly for ice cream and soda.

I began walking down the main alley again, plugging in my headphones as I stepped put into the park. Even if they were so pathetic, humans sure made good music. I noticed a girl sitting in a nearby fountain; and a couple strolling towards the park from the sub-way station. They seemed to be the only people around; due to the rain. They both seemed to be freezing and cold. As was I.

The Imp was long gone, only thing to do now is try and rest up before the trail is picked up once more. I sat down on one of the drenched benches and stuck my face up to the bruised gray sky. The music blasting in my ears, the rain washing away all other senses and my eyes shut...I drifted off. That way I didn't notice the person behind me.

Emma

To be honest, I was freezing. But it was so nice to feel the rain and get some air. Strands of my soaking hair had fallen out of my bun and were in my eyes. I smiled at Brady as I pulled my hood up, which turned out to be equally soaking.

"If you're cold, we'll go back. Just tell me." I added in quickly.

"I'm fine!" He grimaced jokingly.

"We'll think of a good excuse for your mom. Something about me being lost."

I look up through the curtain of the rain and I could see people sitting around. People were always in Central Park, it didn't matter if it was raining or sunny. I closed my eyes for a moment, enjoying the rain and when I opened them I couldn't help but notice a tall guy with shaggy long hair, and I drew in my breath when I realized he was a Darkling. Nudging Brady softly, I motioned towards him. Brady tilted his head slightly and looked through the rain, his lips were quivering slightly, we should get inside soon before he caught a cold. But I decided it was worth the few minutes this would take, there haven't been many Darklings around in the past few weeks. Then again, I hadn't been out much.

I picked up the pace until I was right behind him, his music was blasting so loudly I could hear it over the rain. Some people were going to go deaf from their MP3s. Biting my lip I decided to tap his shoulder lightly.

Titus - Imp

Rain. Not cool. The repetitive rhythm was entrancing, and it almost felt like he could get lost in it forever. Concentrate, Titus thought to himself as he aimlessly walked through the near empty park. He pulled the wide brimmed Yankees hat, lower so it nearly shadowed his face. He was drenched to the bone, that was for sure. The wet material was sticking to his skin, making his movements stiff and unpleasant. He hated being wet and cold.

There was a Seer somewhere here. He sensed it. It only meant another chance in which he could try to gain freedom once and for all. he hated this piteous life he led. And he was right.

There stood a person by the fountain which sound of trickling water was drowned out by the rain. He felt himself smile a little bit. He approached the figure, but then decided against a direct approach and swung back and followed the path until he was approaching the fountain from the other side.

He trailed his fingers along the smooth marble edge and walked around towards the person, a big friendly grin on his face.

"Its a miserable day out to be loitering around the park," Titus said cooly.

The figure seemed startled and whipped around to face him and to his dismay he saw at once it was a girl. He cursed gently under his breath, but he kept up his fake smile.

Leah

"Ean. Are you on the trail again?" I asked him, stepping up. The rain was a bittersweet mix- it had canceled the baseball game I was going to attend, but I also could always think clearly in rain.

I could hear huim groan. He had never liked me, but the last time I saw him was years ago. We used to live nearby. "What are you doing here, Leah?"

"The baseball playoff game was here." I explained, putting a hand over my eyes. A bunch of people we in the park, but not nearly as many as normal.

"So?" He growled. "I'm tracking."

"Oh so diligently, too. Does music attract imps?" I replied, hearing some music blast from his earphones.

He grumbled something. "Like you track any better!"

"I don't try." I replied. "Everyone has the right to live."

"Except for the scum of humans and imps."

"Ouch." Someone else said from behind Ean.

I'm thinking the person behind Ean is a human or imp?

Lacey

Lacey's eyes were trained intently on the close race between two rain drops on the subway car's window. She mentally urged the slower one on the left to go a bit faster and win. Lefty finally one and Lacey turned her head away, a small smile on her face, her bangs falling gently into her eyes. She had a thing for the underdogs, the outcasts. The rest of the ride was uneventful other than the creepy stares she received from a middle aged business man across from her.

She got off the train and walked through the damp tunnels, her small hands in her pockets, before going up the stairs and walking through the dark streets on Manhattan. The smell of human, sweat, sugar and the breathy scent of life, drifted suddenly near her, making Lacey's eyes blur with need. A young man, no more than 17 or 18 walked past Lacey, head rocking back in forth in time with the loud music coming from his earphones. Lacey looked him up and down, taking in his dark jeans, hooded sweater and Converse before purposly bumping into him.

"Oh sorry." She said, looking him in the eyes.

AN: If anyone wants to be this male character, I'd appreciate it. Reply as this character or PM me or something. :D If not, then I'll have him be unimportant.

Should I write in first or second person? D:

Brady:

Another Darkling. How interesting. I followed behind Emma, my eyes flashing towards the interesting creature before us. He didn't seem to give a damn that we were there, or if he did, he sure wasn't showing it.

Of course this changed to shock a second later as another Darkling made themselves known before we could jump into the situation. A girl, this time, but definitly Darkling material. Emma looked very apprehensively towards them but did not stop walking. I'm sure she was about as curious as I was towards them

They were speaking about life. About deserving it, as much as I could tell. I heard the male say rather peevishly, "Except the scum of humans and Imps."

Instinctively, though completely out of my nature, I heard the word 'ouch' pass through my lips. Strangely enough they both turned, the ones surprised and the other filled with annoyance. I immediately regretted saying anything at all.

"I-I'm sorry," I murmured, bowing my head to them. "I-I didn't mean to speak."

Emma was beside me, her hand against my shoulder and her features composed surprisingly. Usually she was as timid as myself. In this case, I suppose, she felt immediate danger.

"A Seer?" the girl murmured, head cocked to the side. "And a Darkling. How... cute."

The male turned his head, pushing the headphones up once more as to cover his ears from the conversation. He looked as if talking to humans hardly interested him at all.

"Why... well," I murmured, clasping my hands in front of me embarrassedly.

Leah

"Why... well," The human said.

"Sorry, I should introduce myself. I'm Leah." I waltzed up next to Ean and nonchalantly yanked the earbuds from his ears. "That's Ean." He rubbed his ears and gave me a push. I stumbled, but recovered. I stared at the human, interested.

"Oh. I'm Brady."

"Emma. I'm a darkling, too."

"That's funny! As you probably know, Ean and I ar-"

"Shhh!" He hissed feverishly.

"What? She's a darkling. it's not like she's working with the Imp you're traki- Oops." I mumbled.

Ack. Writer's Block. Sorry!
