Did you mean to use 401 or 403? 401 means you either typed in the wrong username, password, or both. 403 means you don't even have a chance to type in a username/password; you are absolutely forbidden from accessing the site.
Actually, I'm pretty sure you meant 404. 404 is that you typed in the wrong URL or tried to go to a page that doesn't exist. Hence, the page wouldn't be able to be found. It comes the closest to what you say at the beginning of the poem.
