Learn or not learn names? Does knowing a man/woman's name make them no longer strangers, anonymous?

You have to learn their names. You have to know them inside out to work them hard and keep them disciplined. You have to know who they are but not get too close; always stay distant but ever close. That's the best way anyway. Sometimes they all become a blur and it's hard to know them all. ~ Robert Shaw

Where does your loyalty lie?

Myself, my loyalty lies with the people in my city. By that I mean the real inhabitants here, not those strange men who've decided the walls belong to them. We've always looked after ourselves, and we were good at it. If we weren't prepared for an army, well, that's just because we've never needed one. We used to be respected as a city, but now look at us! Men walking with swords because they have to, theives lurking in street alleys, and the dirty-stinking traitors who pretend to be on our side. Everyone knows there are those who work for the strangers. They pay well I heard, and a little extra gold can be tempting for some when there are so many going hungry at the moment... ~ Karilin Laroth

Well, why'd you do it?

An act of stupid protesting. They deserve to be caught, have their eyelids ripped off and then boiled in the finest oil. A suitable act of judgement, don't you agree?-Astaroth, Twilight Angel

I suppose it depends on the season but in the warmer months my usual clothing attire is breeches, a linen shirt; laced by the cuffs and when I venture into town, Bostonians will notice me wearing a tunic. I rarely wear boots or brace-buckled shoes and never have worn the triangular hat. - Samuel Garrison

What is your darkest secret?
The sadness drains through me rather than skating over my skin. It travels through every cell to reach the ground. I filter it yet strangely enough, I keep what was pure and it is the dirt that leaves.
