Time Traveler or Hearing Aid?

Yeah I saw this in another newspaper. It's interesting, although I don't think it's time travel. It probably is just hearing aid, or who knows, the woman may have been nuts with an odd habit of walking about talking to herself with a hand to her ear. We can't really know. What do you think Nate?

P.S. In the newspaper I read, people were saying that no-one would travel back in time to watch a Charlie Chaplin show. I wouldn't mind though!

Well, time travel is the least likely explanation. But, it really doesn't look like a hearing aid either because of the way she's talking into it. Some have said she could just be testing it, but the mannerisms and the way she's talking really make it look like she is talking to someone else.

So, I think either she's crazy or it's something else. It could be a two-way radio, which were available then.

Hmm, I didn't think of that possibility. Actually, now that you've mentioned it that does seem a lot more likely than the other theories. Maybe you should add it to the poll!

Clearly one of the Doctor's retired companions who's gotten hold of a vortex manipulator from somewhere, heard there were Daleks building the Empire State Building, but you know how hard it is to get to the right year and side of continent on one of those time-travelling space-hoppers. She's got Professor Song on the phone, who reckons she's just going to have to live it out like Captain Harkness did.

Hah, I saw this online a couple days ago. Quite interesting, however I doubt it's time travel. Although, if you could time travel, I would pick out a better date.
She doesn't look crazy. Hm, two-way radio is also a possibility. I'd pick that one.

Not for the first time, iirc.

She sees the cameras over there, blocks her face because she is afraid to be caught on tape/self concious. While walking by she mummbles to herself it's okay.

She is very sunny, so she is blocking her face from the sun, she is mumbling to herself.

She is a space alien, and her hand acts as a cell-phone, with receptors on the moon. She is sending reports that the humans enjoy laughing at the mute.

She has an fell, and it hurts a bit, rubbing the sore spot and saying ow.

She....you get the idea. There are a bunch of possibilities.

Also, there are no cellphone towers in 1920, she physically could not be talking on a cellphone. And if she was from the future why the hell would she be carrying around a useless cellphone, in the middle of a movie shoot?

As far as I know, there were no hearing aids that could be carried around like that in the 20's. If it was a horn, we could tell easily, but we can't. It's very plausible we will never know, as many, many extras were used back then.

Bolt makes the best bit of reasoning here. And I can't believe I'm agreeing with Bolt but yeah. My bet is that she really is just trying to shield her face from the camera.
