August 2010 Stats

As usual, here are the stats for August 2010. It was the busiest August YWS ever had, but there was still a huge drop in activity from July to August. However, things bottomed out around August 22, and since then activity has begun to increase again. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that school started for a lot of people on August 23?

Kind of amazing that Australia now has more cities in the top 10 than the United States.

The top 10 American States
1. California
2. Ohio
3. New York
4. Pennsylvania
5. Texas
6. Illinois
7. Washington
8. Maryland
9. Alabama
10. Georgia

If the states were included in the top 10 countries, California would snatch #4 from Australia; and Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas would all come in between Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand would fall to number 10. The Philippines would move to number 18.

This shows the number of pageviews month to month since September 2006, which is when such record keeping began. August 2010 comes in as the tenth biggest month overall. Also, the long-term growth rate is 5.5% month to month, but that's just the average. Some months can increase by as much as 60%, and some months can decrease by 40% in the normal course of events.

OMG WHO'S THE ORANGE SPLOGE OVER THE SOUTH WEST OF AUSTRALIA???????? Or is that just me? Because I'm using a Australian laptop in the UK? Or it doesn't work like that?
