New Name for Points?

Since points are taking on more importance in YWS, I want to change the name of them. I mean, the name "points" is stale and boring. The Young Writers Club has megabytes and the Writing Club has Gift Points. I want something kind of similiar for YWS.

Any ideas?

Extremely pointless online currency available only for a specific forum called Young Writers Society to make people motivated to do things they normally wouldnt.

Abbreviated to EPOCAOSFCYWSMPMDTTNW.


Or we could always call them Janglies.

Why not something magical like "quills" or something? :)

Quills, Gems, Rubies...

How about Splats? Or some other nonsense word?

Or, we could go with the classic GP for Gold Pieces. Or some other nerdy RPG way of counting money. Ooh! Ooh! How about Rupees?

Or maybe we could call it Karma. I think that's about all the ideas I have for now. Feel free to expand.

Instead of Gift Points, what about Griff points?

We could call them monkeys, apes, chimps.

Or we could do it like that new Wendy's commercial: "You've earned 50 Double Cheeseburgers."

I vote that, whatever it is, we don't make it too serious, or in other words, boring. Something that will make people smile a little, but not something people will roll their eyes at.

That being said, I vote Skillets.

Skillets? Nah, that reminds me of one of my best friends - her nickname is Skillet.

I like the Paper Clips, actually. For some strange reason. But I still vote Rupees as choice #1. Even if I didn't know what they were, they just sound awesome.

On a similar note: can you change the messages you get when you receive or spend points? I think it would be awesome if you changed "spent" to "wasted" or something. And we could get creative with the receiving one: "Inherit 50 Points" or "Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. But here's 50 Points out of sympathy."

Hmmm, alternating point recieving messages?

Maybe we could customize it using My YWS? That be a neat feature.

Here's my favorite names so far (we'll put 'em up for a vote next week, along with some others):
- Paper Clips
- Quills
- Skittles (not a copyright infringement unless we're actually selling it as candy)
- Jangles

Don't like rupees too much since that instantly reminds most people of Zelda.
