~Sira Ha'dra~

I had the threads from the node now. I spun them faster than before. The lights were appearing again. Spinning the lights with one talon, I spread out again. Instead of going in all directions, like the first time, I focused on where we were heading. I found another node and snatched a few threads from there. In a moment, I had them integrated, spinning along side the other threads.

Then something weird happened. The lines from the farther node began tugging on the ones from the closer one. I cut off the closer node. The lights were now spinning around me. Then something even weirder happened. The lights flared and I felt myself get yanked hard out of the cart.

I landed on the road. I got up and looked around for the wagon. No wagon was in sight. No one.
"YES!" I screed. It had worked. The adrenaline wore off a minute later. It had taken a lot of work to do it, my personal reserves had taken a hit, even with the nodes. Too tired for a flight at any rate. I walked up a nearby hill and gasped. There, near the sea, was the Temple of the Sun. It's white turrets rose out of the ground, over 500 feet. The view was incredible. The city was sprawled out, with white roofs. We'd would have to go down a narrow mountain road first, but it was still beautiful.

The thing was, I was four days ride from where I had started.

"You're a sorceror, think about it." I was getting tired of these interruptions. Ma'Lar was supposed to be in charge at the moment, not me.

"She cast a spell. Though I don't think she actually meant to go anywhere," I said.
Got YWS? I do.

I picked up the book. The flash of light was the only warning I had. I flipped through it. It was in gryphon. None of it made any sense though. I looked at the top of the page that the bookmark had been.
Theory regarding magical logistics and the simultaneous movement achievable therin. What the heck does this mean? I flipped through the chapter. It was using terms and descriptions which made no sense to me.

~Solea~

She dipped her hand into the pool of water. The water was clear, not with a tinge of blue, but with a tinge of gray and orange from the jasper and serpentine underneath. She twirled her left finger into the pool, where the trickling water spun faster and faster. And suddenly, it wasn't quite orange and gray, but it was orange and red and green and all the other colors you could imagine. The other colors swirled around, slowly at first but continually getting faster. And suddenly, just as suddenly as the colors appeared, an image began to form.

It was of a city.

It was not of a pretty city. It was a merchant city, located on a bay. There were dead rotting fish around (she could smell them as well as see them). There were many booths set up, full of grimy, yet colorful banners, indicating with pictures what the merchants were selling.

"What do you see?"

Alazamar was looking at her face quite intently. He could not see what she did, nor smell it, and she was fully aware of it. Even still, she paused. A strange butterfly fluttered at her stomach, and she suddenly felt her pallms begin to sweat. She had a headache.

"It is a city."

This seemed to worry him. He stopped, his eyes darting nervously over his shoulder before he asked, "What does the city look like?"

Solea knew why he did this. After all, wasn't he the guardian of the city of the sun god? If she described it as brilliantly white, then she knew he would be worried. Her predictions were usually never good. But she simply frowned and described the city. He relaxed.

"Well, it certainly doesn't sound like our city," he said, a little happier, though there was still a crease in his forehead. "Even so, it could be any of the neighboring sea towns. Always not good. Especially since our economy is sustained almost completely by trade." He stopped and frowned. "Were there any distinguishing features of the city? Did you see any temples? Any landmarks?"

She stopped, feeling completely nervous. She was trying not to wring her hands. It wasn't because she recognized the city; she had never been anywhere except the palace of the moons, where she was now. Alazamar was kind enough to go to her, even though he was terribly busy with his priesthood. She had only seen pictures of the other cities in books, and she had never seen one particularly like this one. And it made her nervous.

"It doesn't have any people in it."

"ok.. here we go. lireal and i met in the underdark, after much time spent together we wandered off into the underdark wilderness as lovers. I promised her i would never leave her, but a few years later there was a war, and it seperated us. I thought that the drow had killed her because we were seperated and i saw her go down, then moments after i took a blow to the head and blacked out. After i woke up i searched and searched for her, but i never found her, so i wandered around the underdark and eventually found my way topside. I think that she thinks that i left her down there to die, that i left to save my own skin, that i didnt love her anymore; she just doenst understand."

"You fell in love? Interesting. Seems to be a lost art in the Underdark."

Seraph closed his eyes once more.

"So why Is she so intent on getting herself killed? I could have destroyed her soul, and she welcomed it."

He continued turning the tiny gauntlet over in his fingers.
