My flight was just about over. The Drow had regrouped, but were encamped. They would probably follow us by night, but we could gain distance over them as long as it was daylight, their eyes would need a great deal of time to adjust to the light. As I approached the wagon, I saw a dark form following it. I decided it wasn't worth worrying about. It remained hidden in the forest, we could deal with it when the time came.
As the wagon came into view from behind a tree, I saw a struggle on the ground. I dove down, but before I arrived it was over. The she-drow had fainted.
"Looks like I missed something exciting," I remarked slyly.
"Driznarden had a girlfriend and she had a grudge," Thaden answered. I looked over at Driznarden and frowned. I flattened my right talon and placed it over his chest.
"Looks like a minor concussion. He's going to have a headache when he wakes up." I looked over at Seraph. "I can wake them up if you want. The other Drow seem to be getting ready to sleep for the rest of the day. Also, we have something following us. What happened to you?" I asked. He looked exhausted.
"Did you perform a major spell?"
"I healed Alex's arm."
"That's all? You look like you fell out of tree and hit all the branches on the way down. You're filthy also! Next stream we see, you're all washing." I did a quick magical scan of Seraph. His personal magic levels were depleted severely. It was incredible that he was still standing.
"You must rest Seraph. Thaden, go ahead and use your air magic to get them in the wagon." I took another glance at Seraph. Why didn't he just tap the magic node? There was one really easy to reach, if he brought in the energy from there he'd be alright.
Maybe he doesn't know about it, but how wouldn't he? All the healer schools taught about nodes and how they can be used to reduce fatigue. The discovery of it had made it possible for healers to work on several patients in succession without fainting. It could be that he didn't go to one of these schools or he knows another way, perhaps intuitively, how to heal. That's a real drain on the personal magic reserve though. Well, that was his problem. It wasn't the time for a magical discussion. The cart continued.
My arms were quivering uncontrollably now, and my head felt like it was about to explode.
At the moment, I wished my father had spent some time instructing me in the use of the powers of the Bloodmoon; but that was against triadition. It was said that Helm granted his chosen abilities as they earned them.
I didn't know where these powers came from, nor how I was using them. I only knew that they took their toll on me. Physically, I was infe. The drow's lifeforce had molded to my own, healing my body. My mind and soul, however, were xhausted.
"I need to rest. Awaken me if something comes up. Ma'Lar, you are in charge until then." I rolled backwards, looking up into the rising sun.
"Don't bother keeping an eye on the female. She won't be going anywhere. And Driznarden will not leave her. Peace be with you."
I slept.

I guess this is necessary if I do more Sira posts.
Name: Sira Ha'dra
Species: Gryphon
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Feather Color: Brown
Weapons: Steel Claws (mostly used to gain traction on the ground)
Magic: While she does a fair amount of air magic, she is better at light magic. She is able to "see" centers of magical power and channel magic for a variety of purposes, the most obvious being healing. It also has the ability to boost the effectiveness of spells. In addition to this, she is able to create spheres of light, which can temporarily blind opponents. She can also manipulate magic for telekinetic attacks. She also is learning more magic, traditionally females aren't supposed to beyond healing.
Weaknesses: To heal, she needs to enter a healing trance. Her mage sight only works for a couple of seconds, she is trying to extend that. She can channel, but only if she is in a trance. Telekinetic attacks take a little time to set up. They should be effective if she is engaging one opponent, but for more than one foe, it takes too much time.
Background: Sira is a strong willed gryphon, who is prone to fits of nesting instinct (i.e. organizing things and getting things clean). She recieved training as a healer, but learned more magic in secret, even making a few discoveries.
When I saw the quivering, my worst suspicion came true. Mage shock was setting in.
"Alex, cover him with a blanket." Mage shock came after the magic levels got too low inside a person. Normally, gryphons used their personal magic to access the magic nodes, where more energy was. Seraph had no such benefit. I shook my head and went into a trance. Once I had the trance, I pulled a strand of magic from a node and channeled some energy into him. After a few minutes, I went out of the trance and checked him. His magic levels were significantly higher now. He had stopped quivering now and he would feel much better when he woke up.
I shrugged. I'd have to instruct him on the nodes when he had some time. In the meantime, I began reading from some theory books that I wasn't supposed to even have.
Sira's healing magic awoke me, though I kept my eyes closed.
I needed the rest; it had been far too long since I actually stopped fighting long enough to sleep.
I sat there, wondering who these people around me were. All I knew about them were their names. I didn't know their past, nor what they had done. I wondered if I was doing what was right by setting aside slight injustices for the greater Law. By healing Daniel, was I merely giving him ample chance to cause more chaos in the world? By allowing these drow to travel alongside me, was I going against Helm's will?
I decided that there was no greater justice than avenging the death of Helm's Avatar and most powerful enforcer.
Then I realized that sleep would not come, no matter how relaxed I was.
I opened my eyes and looked up at the sky. Reaching into my tunic, I withdrew the symbol of Helm. The miniscule gauntlet hung from a chain around my neck, the saphire eye staring at my from the palm of the gauntlet. Absently fingering the tiny talisman, I stared at the sky, merely trying to find some rest.
Got YWS? I do.

I closed the book and set it down. I tapped the node and began an experiment. I closed my eyes and went into a trance. I slowly moved the threads of the node, grabbed a thread and moved it towards me. I found another and brought it with me. I moved it along side the other and decided to spin it. It moved slowly at first, gradually accelerating. Magic began to resonate from it. I opened my eyes and saw a small circle of lights where the threads were. They were rather small, like the star points in the sky. They changed their hue constantly, moving from green to red to blue and many other colors. I extended my senses, hoping to find some other node to tap.
Instead, I felt someone staring at me. The anxiety was brief, the effect was instant. The light pattern became irregular, the threads had gone out of allignment. Frusterated, I released the threads. I felt tired, so I reached out again and slowly replenished myself.
I slowly awoke to a splitting headache, and the blazing sun in my eyes did not help much at all; pulling the hood over my face, i sat thinking. what could possibly make learil hate me so much, i loved her, and we were just seperated, and i lost her. Giving up i just came up here, and trying to keep busy i tried to forget those horrible years in the underdark, cold and alone, looking for her, not knowing if she was dead or alive. That seraph was one to be on the lookout for, i will never know what is going on in that human head of his. "so what exactaly are you doing griffin?" i said asking sira.

Once i came to after fainting i abrubtly remembered everything that had happened. I thought of Seraph and hated him but i supposedly cuold do nothing about it without bringing pain onto myself. What i coward he was not to fight me on equel terms. I relized Diz was near me but cuold do nothing about it, so i kept quet. Seraph had said i surved choas, but i surved no one but myself, and i was cirtenly not choas. I lay trying to swollow my anger for a few minutes before getting up to comfront the monster who had ruined my chances of leading a happy life, that for a second major time i was deprived. "what did you do to me?" I asked as reasonably as i cuold but I felt a musle under my eye twitch, Seraph paused for i moment before answering.
I opened my eyes with a sigh, to see the female drow standing over me.
"What did you do to me?" She asked. I dind't both sitting up, just stayed lying flat on my back.
"I told you that you were in no position to make demands. I warned you the consequences if you did not answer my quesions. I wanred you what would happen if you caused problems. This is your fault, not mine. Kindly get out of my sun, I was rather enjoying it."
Got YWS? I do.

With sira not answering, i decided she mus be in some kind of trance; i'll ask her later, so i decided to listen in to lireal's conversation with seraph.
