This is really random and I wrote it just for fun. It's not much of a story so I would like ideas on how to develop it if you have any but I'm not really looking for nit-picky reviews.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it. :)

Ding, dong.
Hello?
...
What’s that?
...
Is this Lydia’s residence? Yes. Yes it is, why?
...
You wanted to talk about my insurance?
...
Oh, ok, come on in.
This way. Have a seat. Would you like some tea?
...
You don’t know what tea is? Are you being serious? Like coffee? Tea? A drink? No? Ok fine, come with me, I’ll show you. This way, though the door, yes right here we are.
...
What is this place? This is the kitchen! Don’t tell me you’ve never been in a kitchen before!
...
You haven’t? Oh my...
...
Stop screaming! What’s the matter?
...
You thought you saw a ghost?
...
What!? That’s my fridge!
...
What’s a fridge? Well a fridge is a thing that keeps things cold! But surely you must have known that.
...
No? Anyway, that doesn’t matter. What were we doing?
...
Oh yes, making a cup of tea. Ok, can you get me two mugs out of that cupboard there please? Right then, oh we’re out of teabags. I’ll just go and get some teabags, you fill the kettle.
...
What! What are you doing?! For a start they’re saucepans, not mugs. Here, these are mugs! And why are you peeing in my kettle!? When I said ‘fill’ the kettle, I meant with water! Give that to me, we’ll need to sterilize this and everything now!
...
You’re sorry? Well it’s a bit late for that now, but apology accepted. Right I think I’ll throw this out. I have new kettle it’s just there in the box could you get it out please?
...
Thanks, ok, now then, fill it with water this time. Good, right, put it on to boil.
...
Where, well you put it on that stand and then you press that switch.
...
Yes like that. Ok now while that’s boiling we’ll need to put a teabag in the mugs. I’ll do that. Could you get me some sugar.
...
Oh, you don’t take sugar? Oh ok. Well I do, could you get it for me please.
...
Thanks. Now can you put two teaspoons in my mug while I get the milk.
...
What was that? The label doesn’t say sugar? Of course it does! Pass it here.
...
Cocaine!? What is cocaine doing in my cupboard!?
...
You don’t know?! Don’t give me that! I know you put it there! You’re trying to get me framed for drug dealing aren’t you?! Pretending to be all thick so you could plant that there!
...
You don’t even know what cocaine is?
...
You didn’t put that there? You saw my son putting it in the cupboard?
...
My son does not do drugs!
...
Yes he does? How do you know?
...
You have been observing from above?
...
Yes?
...
Can we make the cup of tea now? Hell, we can make the cup of tea! I need to relax. Where was I?
...
Milk? That’s right. Ok, you pour the water in, don’t burn yourself.
...
What about sugar? Oh, I’ll do without thanks. Here’s the milk. Have you poured that water in?
...
Good. But you’ve got it all over the place. Get the mop please.
...
What’s a mop? Oh never mind. Look, I don’t know who you are. You haven’t mentioned insurance since you walked through the door and frankly I think you are weird. I want you to leave.
...
Shan’t? Did you just say shan’t to me?
...
Don’t use that tone with me. Look I want you out. I don’t care how I have to get you out I’ll force you out if I have too. I’ll...
...
I don’t have to force you out?
...
You’ll go quietly? Good, well this way to the front door.
...
Yes, goodbye. I won’t be seeing you.
...
Goodbye. Weirdo

Hello there!

Okay, well. That was HILARIOUS! I thought it was so funny that I don't care that it wasn't exactly a story. I'm honestly not sure how you could go about making it more story like because it's just so terribly funny as is. Part of why it's so nice is that the conversation is one sided, as if we're listening in on a phone. And you also give a lot of the description/tension SIMPLY through the dialogue. It's really impressive. And funny. Did I already mention that bit?

So it may not be your average story, but that was brilliant. I'd say, doing anything else with it would ruin it. You should try to write more one-sided-conversation-stories. :) I like them!

*Cracks up and can't stop laughing*

Okay! Okay that was brilliant! I LOVE how the conversation was one sided and still perfectly understandable. I can't exactly review this, 'cause I have no experience with one sided stories, but I can tell you that your story was freaking hilarious and I loved it. Another thing: you did a great job portraying the woman's tension through pure dialogue, which I thought was awesome. For example- "Can we make the cup of tea now? Hell, we can make the cup of tea!" See, she's acting all twitchy and she's talking about a cup of tea...I get the feeling I'm rambling on.
Well, many hearts to you! ♥♥♥♥♥
And five stars. *****

This might sound weird, but at first I thought this was funny and then, as it continued on, it just seemed rather sad. I mean, the person seems absolutely crazy. Like, she had gone absolutely nuts and was in denial over everything from her son (whether he did drugs or not... that's besides the point) to making tea. I don't know... it just seems rather sad.

Haha, it's so strange how these things snowball off...I've actually seen some other rather humorous pieces on YWS lately, so this further made my day :D.

I don't think, though, that I found this hilariously funny. At first, it was intriguing, since I did not know where you were going to go with it, or what was going on. Not amusing. Then, as I read on, and became more comfortable with the one-sided dialogue (actually, that would be a monologue, but still), I saw the funny side - even then, though, it wasn't absolutely hilarious - just....mildly amusing. And then, later on, I sort of expected weird and funny things to happen, so they stopped being funny, and so...*confession* the first time I read it, I pretty much skimmed to the end after getting halfway. I think, then, for something like this to work humorously and continuously so, you've got to escalate it. Make the next thing funnier than the last. I guess Snoink brought up a good point about how things almost get...sad...later on, then.

Also, I think this also might have had greater impact were it tighter. By that, I mean, I can see you have pretty much written it off the top of your head, on a line-by-line basis, and improvised as you've written. Yeah, that's fine for a first draft, but it could be more coherent in its incoherency, if that at all makes sense.

But yes, I wouldn't worry too much, regardless. It does its job and clearly has no greater purpose than our amusement, so...well done. :D

Thanks guys!
Snoink- yeah I see where you are coming from, I kind of failed with the ending. I was thinking maybe the person could be some sort of alien or something and that would be the reason why he didn't know how to make tea but yeah, it did get a bit sad.
Navita - Yeah, I'll work on those things. (And your bang on about the whol improvisation thing!) :)

Anyway, thank you all for your feedback!
Glad I made you laugh

Hahaha, I wouldn't call it a failure! It was really interesting! It just seemed to shift in a way that I wasn't quite expecting, which made the story a little depressing. But depressing does not mean that it's bad or a failure! It just means you accidentally made it a little more deep than you thought! ;)

Hehe! Thanks Snoink for those word of wisdom! (note to self sad/depressing is not necessarily a failure it is just deep!)

By the way, I forgot to mention this in my first post, but at first I thought he was a ghost sent to her or something and confused about everything. 'Cause he said he was watching from above. xD

Loved it! Very humorous and clever. I've never read anything quite like it. :)

wow... its really interesting! I love how you can't tell what the other person is saying (the weirdo) wow this is something else... hm... i think you can get this going into a great story! :D
The beginning was a bit confusing for me about if he was calling her or ringing the doorbell. Well good luck and keep going!

I smiled the whole time I read this short story (if you can call it that.) I've never read anything like it and frankly, my friend, I loved it. :) I'm assuming that the guy she's talking to is an angel. The fact that he doesn't know ANYTHING is humorous, but it seems like that if he had been watching from 'above' he might have picked up a few thing. That is my only complaint, and I don't even care about that all that much, as I am still chuckling over the 'filling' of the tea pot. So crude, yet so funny.:P
