(Ahhhh, so this is what you were talking about. Interesting plot!)
"Many people hear voices when no-one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing."

Tashika

I groaned and pushed myself up with my elbows. I opened one eye, then the other. What I saw next was...well...unexpected for lack of a better word. This was nowhere near home...not even close. I was laying on the grass in front of what looked to be the ruins of an ancient fortress. It was still in tact in most places, but the walls were crumbling here and there and none of the towers stood.

I looked around me, noting other girls beginning to wake up. Most looked dazed, afraid even. I was more curious than anything else at this point. Koosa bounded up to me, screaching his little monkey screeches. So she was still here with me, which I decided was good.

She jumped into my opened arms and I gave her a cuddle, staring at the gates of the ruins.

Darcen

"You have got to be kidding! Do you have any idea what will happen to us if the king finds out what we're doing?" I hissed at the old man. He was a respected general, but he had flipped his lid.

"Yes, I am aware. But he won't find out," he assured me calmly. Somehow I wasn't very comforted.

I sighed loudly and placed propped my forehead up with my right hand. "Okay, since I've made the commitment, I don't have much of a choice. I still think you're insane."

Torreal smirked. "I know." With that he left the walls of the fortress, to where the girls were waiting.

General Torreal

I stepped onto the grass, hands clasped behind my back. So the other men thought I was insane. Well, we'd just see what they thought come a few weeks. The girls were just waking up, and all looked either curious or frightened.

"Welcome," I called out, grinning. They all stared at me blankly. "You're here for a very special reason. I have chosen you to become warriors. You will go through some fairly brutal training, and I pray that you're ready for it. The reason I have called you here cannot be disclosed for the protection of thousands." I paced, eyeing each of the girls in turn. None spoke, so I continued. "Today will be a day for resting and building strength. If anybody is not up for the challenge, speak up now and I will send you back safely. If you're up for it, you may enter the ruins at any time."

Krista:

I winced, sitting up. My head was pounding--not the best sign. Looking aroung, I noticed several other women around, all were stirring.

What happened? I thought, rubbing my head. For a moment I didn't take in my surroundings, and when I did notice them, I was in awe. Tall ruins surrounded me and the rest of the women. Well, that was a new one.

The crumbling stone towered over us as I slowly climbed to my feet. What was this place?

A man appeared, a General by the looks of it, and started talking. I was only half-listening, still entranced by the ruins.

Adrian:

"The old man cannot be serious," I muttered, sharing a look with the man beside me. He shook his head. "He's insane. Women! Of all things!"

My companion chuckled as I stormed off into another room, fuming. I was not going to teahc them how to fight... However, there were more amusing things to do with my time.

"Merrick?" someone called. I glanced back over my shoulder as I paused in the doorway. My companion was watching me.

"Yes?" I asked. He frowned and looked away.

"Nevermind."

I shrugged and turned away, vanishing through the door.

Nyomi

I woke up suddenly. I hadn't been dreaming or anything, but still, you just know when you wake up. Well, of course you do, but I mean- you know what? Forget it. I woke up, that's the point.

After a few sleepy moments staring straight up, I think I said, "This isn't my room." I sat up and looked around. There were more girls, most who were either still sleeping or just waking up. "This is NOT the inn." I continued.

Well spotted, Ny.

I looked down. My apron was gone. How did that happen? I went to sleep with it on! Unless Mama took it off for me for the third time this week. Wouldn't be a surprise.

"Where am I?" I whispered. I was getting scared now. The Golden Star was my home- my place in the world. I was taken. I was out of my niche. And then the general came and gave his speech- hardly comforting when you've seen as much as I have. I got up and walked towards the ruins with a few other girls.

Oh, good grace, something bad was going to happen.

Landyn

I sat outside patiently. I wasn't quite sure if the general was still sane - I heard age did that to you - but it was something to do, something to keep me from going home again, just to see the remains of my old life. Feeling poetic, Lan? my subconscious snorted. I rolled my eyes at it.

I wished I had a forge set up. Right here, right now. With my gloves, and my apron. Mm. That'd be delightful. Some men liked going to taverns and inns and drinking more than they should. I preferred welding.

Now, which one do you think was more useful?

Yeah, on the right track.

And that's why I was sent here, not some of my comrades.

I just hoped nothing bad would happen.

I woke up, feeling the cold, hard ground against my head. Slowly, I groaned. "You have got to be kidding me," I whispered. "That was the best dream I'd ever had. That contraption was amazing and," I groaned once more. "You're talking to yourself again."

Apparently, this general guy had drugged us and dragged us out to this place full of ruins. Well, at least he took us someplace interesting, I thought, staring in wonder at the ancient structures. People called me crazy, but I was very into history.

I walked off to the ruins, in a daze, not really caring what I had just agreed to. Besides, hadn't I always wanted to be a warrior when I was younger?

Once we were there, some of the girls started whispering about how they wished they hadn't come. They talked about how they were just scared of the general.
I turned to one girl and said complacently, "Look, it's a bunny."
She looked at me funny, and then backed away slowly. I was confused. There was a bunny. Why didn't she want to see the bunny?
Well, I thought.Mother always says that you shouldn't be so odd. I guess that was an odd thing to say after someone drugged you and dragged you twenty miles. Slowly, I shrugged, and walked off to look for the bunny.

~Kassie~

My head spun as I sat up. I was confused, where was I again? Everything from before was a slight blur. I looked around, seeing one girl walking after a bunny, and another looking at her like she was insane. Maybe we were all insane, and this was just a dream. No, I was insane for thinking that. I smiled and stood up, walking away from the group and looking around.

"Hey," one of the girls said, bouncing up next to me. "Whats your name?" I looked at her, unsure, but I wasn't going to be rude to her.

"Kassie," I said, looking away. "What's yours?"

TASHKIA

I was totally and completely enthralled by the ruins. They were stunning, and they seemed to hold secrets I could only dream of knowing. I could feel my eyes lighting up. Some of the girls were whispering about how "scared" they were, which bugged the chiz out of me.

I turned around and put my hands on my hips, glaring at each one of them. "You guys have got to be kidding me! I don't know who it was, but somebody said they were scared of such a beautiful place!" I clapped my hands. "Well, I don't know about you, but I'm absolutely thrilled! Whatever the general's got planned for us, I'm willing to take! Who's with me?" Koosha monkey-screeched her agreement, standing tall on my shoulder.

Wow, I sounded like I was making a speach about rebuilding some forgotten city... I had no idea where my enthusiasm was coming from, but I was rather enjoying myself. I hardly noticed that fact that there were very unhappy looking men lurking about.

GENERAL TORREAL

I arched an eyebrow and shook my head at the girl. She was bizzare, needless to say. I hadn't expected quite as much spunk. Tashika, if I was correct. And her monkey was Koosha.

Then there was Fell, who seemed absolutely flabbergasted by the ruins. Now if I remembered correctly, she was the history nut... but I could have been wrong.

There was a tap on my shoulder and I turned to face Darcen. He didn't look overly thrilled with the prospect of training a bunch of women, but I hadn't expected anything different from any of the men. "Yes Darcen?" I asked coolly.

"Look, I respect you and all...but doesn't this seem a little far-fetched?"

I shook my head. "Not if you knew what I knew my boy."

He arched an eyebrow. "Which is what exactly?"

"That's for me to know and for you to possibly find out." With that I turned and left, ignoring the skeptic glances of the warriors. They would train the women or they would be killed.

Nyomi

I broke into applause at the end of the girl's speech. I walked up to the girl.

"Guys, she's right! I'm a city girl to the bone, and I love this place! Granted, I loved my place to the ends of the world, but if I'm here, there has to be a reason! Nothing happens that isn't meant to be so! Don't you get it?" I paused. "I'm with you. By the way, I'm Nyomi."

"Tashika."

"Nice to meet you, Tashika."

"And you, Nyomi."

I stepped out of the shadows, and spoke, agreeing with her. Either she was totally insane, or she was the smart one here. They were introducing themselves to one another, but I wasn't in the picture much. I wasn't one for conversation unless I knew you. I was pretty sure that whoever spoke to me first would be the one I would stick by the rest of our time here. I closed my eyes, humming softly to myself. I heard someone come and sit next to me, and I opened my eyes to look at them.

**Hopefully my character isn't ignored! I'm bringing her in now! So SOMEONE talk to her. Sorry it's short by the way**

TASHIKA

I grinned at Nyomi, automatically taking a liking to her. Koosha jumped onto my head and stood up for a better look around, making me chuckle. Looks like I wasn't the only one enjoying the new surroundings.

"So, what do you think Torreal's got up his sleeve? He's supposed to be one of the best generals we've got," I asked, grabbing for Koosha.

A loud shriek pierced the air and I was suddenly surrounded by purple. Koosha started giving off her monkey screams and was ripped from my head. "Koosha!" I shrieked, falling backwards. "What in bloody hell..." I hissed, turning my head to face a very large Tinar and a very startled Koosha clinging to its legs.

A man, obviously a warrior, approached the bird and soothed my monkey. Nyomi helped me up and I stomped over to the man, thwacking the back of his head. "Does that thing belong to you?" I hissed.

He turned around and glared at me. "Yes, yes he does. He's just having a bit of fun, no need to get snappy."

"I will get as snappy as I want!" Koosha hopped into my outstretched arms and held on for dear life. I turned and stomped back to the others, not caring what the man said. So far I had one friend and one enemy.

DARCEN

I rolled my eyes and turned to Floosh, crossing my arms. "Well, that was funny, but you know better," I scolded quietly. I was talking to a bird... well then. Maybe the general wasn't the only one who was flipping his lid.

I sighed and ruffled Floosh's feathers, eyeing the clan of women and then glancing at some of my commerads. They were all either smirking or frowning. Torreal had disapeared, lurking somewhere or other. Concocting more schemes that made no sense probably.

GENERAL TORREAL

I stared at the table, which was laid out with food. They wouldn't eat so well in the days to follow, but today they needed strength and rest. Tomorrow would be a gruesome day indeed, and I didn't doubt I would have to put some of my warriors back in their places.

I crept back to the main room and leaned on the wall, arms crossed. "Alright! If you would please, this way to eat. It's going to be your last decent meal for a while, so enjoy it and don't let that startle you."

Rave~

"Mmm, Dusk stop!" Rave rolled over in her sleep, covering her face from the wolf's prodding paws. The wolf nudge her head, shoving her face in the grass. Wait a second... grass?! Rave shot from her sleep, stumbling back and falling over Dusk, who spun around and nipped at her nose and fright as she fell. Rave whimpered and covered her nose, glaring at the amber wolf as she sat up. Dusk wagged his tail slowly, licking her cheek. "Oh stop, I'm not forgiving you."

"That was great!!" She heard the oh-so-familiar voice of the only boy she'd known her whole life. He knew why she was here, and wasn't spilling. Rave spun around, a fake smile on her face as she opened her arms wide.

"Mitchy!" She squealed, running at her older brother. His sword was drawn in seconds, Rave's pressing against it.

"Y-you've been practicing." Mitchel smirked, raising an eyebrow at the fact his sister's right arm, the injured one, was beginning to shake, and pressed against her even harder. The second her right arm gave out, she ducked under Mitchel's sword, sweeping her leg from under his. He stumbled back, but their swords clashed again, both smiling like maniacs.

Surely, anyone that walked by would think that they were truly trying to kill one another, for they didn't even bother to file in with the others to eat a nice meal.
