Taleon

"Ah, maybe just a little better," I said, shrugging slightly and laughing a little bit. We had got Elle! If I couldn't have both, at least I had her. At least she was here. And I honestly couldn't believe it.

I glanced towards her, words unable to describe how happy- and slightly awkward- I felt. I had never actually showed her how much I cared about her before she had been taken. Of course there would be this problem; good things never happened without complications. But for now, I didn't really mind. She was safe. She was safe.

Prince Garrett~

"Davis Bloome?" Garrett gazed at the man, probably five-six years older than him. Remembrance flooded over him. He was Davis Bloom! The same man who'd killed one of his father's best friends, a man that had been like an uncle to him so many years ago. If this was Davis Bloome... the girl must have been Clare. Obviously it was, he'd yelled her name plain as day. "Davis Bloome." Garrett repeated, his sword suddenly drawn. Grey leapt to his side, snarling at the man. Garrett barked a laugh.

"So, you're him, aye?" Garrett let his natural irishman-accent flood through. "The man whose life you took so many years ago, do you realize he was like an uncle to me? He would've been my father if the king wasn't." This obviously confused everyone in the clearing, but Garrett paid no mind to it. "I never thought I'd see the day I came face to face with the one man, the only man, I've ever hated."

DAVIS

I was crapping bricks, like an uncle? So he must have known Clare, he must know about all of this! Clare piped up.
"You killed someone! When did you do that?!" She still didn't know that it was her father. I weakly replied.
"Before i found you honey." She snarled.
"Don't honey me you lair! What else don't i know!" She said pointing a finger at me. I was so screwed. I looked down at the dagger. Clare mustn't know. I grabbed it ant threw it at him. I missed, by a long shot... almost hitting Clare. During the few second he was dazed i ran around him and grabbed Clare, pulling her in front of me and walking backwards.

CLARE

I kicked back at him, hitting his shin, he stumbled back and i fell forward. Garret took a few steps forward. I gasped as i hit the ground. This would be interesting. I looked up to see Davis running. I choked a bit, fighting off tears. There goes the only person who knew my past. But how could i be sure everything he told me wasn't a lie?

PRince Garrett~

Garrett nodded silently to Grey, the wolf taking off into the forest, barking and howling. "Ladies, I'll be back." He winked, bowing slightly before running after Grey, sword in hand. Davis wasn't that far ahead, and Grey was gaining, easily. Garrett leaped into a low branch in a tree, watching. The wolf lunged, his razor teeth digging into Davis' calf. The man screamed, falling to the ground. Garrett quickly jumped from the branch, running in his direction. He called Grey off, Davis laying on the ground, his breathing fast and irregular.

Garrett pressed the tip of his sword to Davis' throat, eyes set in a glare. "Go on, kill me!" Davis snarled, glaring. Garrett laughed softly, kneeling to the ground, his sword still against Davis' throat.

"Oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you?" Garrett laughed loudly, insanely. "No I'm not going to kill you. But you, you scumbag, you're going to tell Clare the truth. And, tell her of her mother." Garrett spat, Davis looking up at him, eyes full of anger and... regret?

SHANAELA

Nobody knows how desperately I wanted to run after them. I hadn't realize how much I had been craving a fight until now. I refrained for one of two reasons. Reason one, the most important, it wasn't my fight. Garrett obviously had a major score to settle with the man, and I wasn't about to interfere. Number two was my leg.

I sighed and re-sheated my sword, eyeing Raven. She seemed slightly dazed. "How come he isn't turning you in?" she asked quietly, turning to me.

I shrugged. He actually saved my life. I'm as confused as you are.

"Really?"

I nodded and turned to Clare. I felt so bad for the poor girl, she had obviously lost everything that mattered to her. Then there was the fact that I was suddenly very curious as to the prince's true past. It all of a sudden didn't seem like he had as comfy a life as we had all first presumed.

*KING* TORRAN

I sighed, turning to face my wife. "They just wanted a place to house the elites that are working in the city." I rubbed my head, trying to ease off the throbbing. I hadn't been getting much sleep lately, and it was catching up to me.

"You're letting them sleep in the palace?" She arched an eyebrow.

I simply nodded and yawned. "What time is it?" I asked wearily.

"Almost noon. Why don't you go take a nap? I'll look after things for you." She kissed my cheek and I nodded, turning to make my way to my room.

Queen Adola

Poor thing... he worked too hard, I told him this over and over. Yet he still stubbornly worked to help the kingdom- he was dependable. At some times it exasperated me, but if he wasn't dependable, I probably wouldn't have married him in the first place. I smiled.

CLARE

I sobbed, not letting tears fall. EVERYTHING. Was everything i knew a lie? Were my mother and father really wealthy merchants who disliked my 'affection' for Davis? Were his parents really dead? Did he really have no family? Was i really a criminal? I pounded my fist on the ground. Leaning my forehead on the ground and pulling on fistfulls of my hair. The other girl touched my shoulder but i didn't stop. She sat me up right putting my hands at my sides.
"Don't hurt yourself." She said letting my arms go, then walked over to Shanaela and sat with her.

DAVIS

He held the blasted sword to the back of my neck, walking me back to the girls. When Clare saw me come through the trees her face became so sad. I felt bad, but only for a second. I wasn't that far away from the dagger, the same dagger i had used to kill her father. I looked over at the mute girl, plan set.
"D-Davis?" Clare stuttered, utterly shocked. I felt the prince tensed up.
"He has a lot to tell you." He scowled. I smirked, she looked confused. I plunged for the dagger and rolled over to the mute girl. I held the dagger against her throat.
"I have nothing to say to her." All that time i spent, building that lie, and he was going to ruin it. not on my watch. His expression became angry. I tightened my grip, Clare was terrified.

SHANAELA

I swallowed, breathing slowly. How many times had I been in this situation? Plenty enough, although the last time I hadn't been stabbed by a daggar in advance. Raven stared, mouth gaping in shocked silence. I could see the fear on her face, and I willed her to stay where she was. I was pretty sure that if anybody moved, I'd end up being a heap on the ground with a slit throat.

I bit my lip, not daring to move. I could feel myself trembling, I prayed that nobody noticed.

Raven took a step forward and the blade pressed further into my skin, drawing blood. I could feel it running down my neck. I closed my eyes. This is why I didn't trust easily, people were backstabbers. Oh good lord I was terrified.

Jaykob~

Jaykob slowly followed the princess, gazing up at the sky. "Beautiful day out, isn't it?" He asked, shooting his attempt at small talk. The princess looked back, smiling.

"Yes, it is." She smiled gently, Jaykob nodding slowly.

**All I have for him, sorry!*

Prince Garrett~

Garrett looked after Grey, who was gazing at Davis and then Garrett. Garrett gazed back. If Grey his Davis from behind, that would shock him long enough for Garrett to either save Shanaela, or take the dagger. If he took the dagger though, Davis would still have Shanaela. Garrett looked up at the sky, where a hawk was circiling tightly. Nodding a hidden nod, he heard Grey creep through the trees, and then lunge, knockign the breah out of Davis. Garrett grabbed Shanaela's arm, yanking her away.

The scene now appeared like this. Shanaela was standing beside Raven, Clare was crying still, and Garrett had a dagger pressed to his throat, his own shortsword pressing against Davis' stomach. It was either both, or neither of them that was going to die.

SHANAELA MARZ

I blinked, my whole body suddenly tense. For the second time today, Garrett had saved my life and in the process, endangered his own. I looked at Raven, pleading her for something, anything, though I wasn't quite sure what. She was dazed, staring back at me.

Help me. I mouthed, a risky plan forming in my head. If she could give me the right leverage, I would be able to make it over to them without hurting my leg. Either that or I could buck-up and ignore the pain, but I liked the first option better.

Raven nodded, thinking quickly and putting my arm around her shoulder, one hand holding my wrist, the other around my waist. Davis had his back to us, which bought us some time at least. I had one of my many daggars out and ready, good foot extended. This was a simple maneaver we had practiced often, mostly because it was effective.

We stumbled forwards a few steps. Okay, so Raven walked silently and I hopped...not quite as silently. Davis was too obsorbed on staying alive to notice, which I thanked God for. Raven let go of my wrist, grabbing Davis' hand and yanking it away from Garrett's throat before stiffening her other arm enough that I could use it to kick off of.

I hit Davis while he was still trying to fight Raven's grip, hitting him hard in the side and sending him to the ground. Raven let go of both of us, and I ended up ontop of Davis, my daggar at his throat with one hand, my other hand pinning his wrist to the ground. I smirked.

~Shadow/Princess~

I wasn't good at talking, so this was all awkward for me. And, by the look of it, him too. I sat down on one of the small garden benches, crossing my ankles. I wanted to do something on a day like this. It was perfect, the sun was out, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, I was bored, something I was used to. But I wasn't walking around in the halls if the castle to keep me entertained.

I stood again after a moment of thought, and walked out of the garden, not sure if Jaykob was following. I walked until I was at the edge of the forest nearest the castle. I turned to look at him.

"Where are we going?" he asked. I needed time to think about everything--as if my hours on end of wandering the halls weren't enough.

"I'm going off to wander the forest, and you, well I'm sure you have plenty of things to do," I said, waving him off. He was a soldier, I didn't want to keep him from his duties. He nodded, and walked off. I turned, and stalked into the dense tree, lifting the him of my dress so it wouldn't get muddy. I slipped my shoes off where I was.

I was wild, as my father had said. I loved nature, but I resisted society. I walked, feeling the dirt under my bare feet. It felt good.
