A Flower in my Garden (reposted, not so HUGE)

Hehehe... you can read everything on the post I submitted BEFORE I saw that guid that Elinor Brynn posted about photo resizing... now I'm not sure if I'm doing this right because I've never done it before, BTW I used the picresize one Sooo...umm... yeah. BTW if it's still humongo PLEASE don't yell at me because I tried and it still didn't work and help would be greatly appreciated! Thankies!

Okay, so this isn’t a bad picture. Actually, this is a really nice picture, but I think that more than anything, you have such a lovely picture here because the object of the photo is beautiful. You have to remember one of the keys of photography and that is balance. What this picture really needs, more than anything else, would have been a little shifting. Because the focus of the image is the flower, having it smack dab in the middle makes this less interesting. Something as simple as cropping a little off so that the image shifts over or more into a corn and it would give the image as a whole more of a dynamic.

But otherwise, this is good. You had a lovely object to work with. Great job, Rose!

Gah! What lovely flowers!

This may or may not sound weird, but I have to say, more than the flowers, I love the leaves. I mean, they're pretty much the definition of perfect. They're vibrant and beautiful while the flower seems more... faded, if that makes sense. So while I love the flowers, I think the leaves make this picture.

Love the colors! I agree with Snoink on the leaves. Everything in this picture is absolutely perfect, which you generally don't find.
So pretty. *likes* Don't have any advice today.

Oh WOW that photo is amazing!!! It deserves to be on the 'thingy thingy'. I'm not usuallly into photography, I'm very picky when it comes to things like that, but this is amazing, the type of picture you'd find on your Microsoft Windows wallpaper selection!! I think the colouring is beautiful, such light blues, whites and yellows in contrast to that really deep green in the background. Like everyone else has said, it's perfect. I can't find any faults on it (but that just may be me, I'm a novice in these types of things!!)!!!!!!!

Hmm, the flower really is quite beautiful, what with the gradient colors (Makes you wonder how Nature knew yellow and purple were opposites) and the deep green leaves that fade into the black background (major kudos on that part). But the size is still an issue. I would say half or a fourth of the original size would be good enough.
Your focus on the central cluster was good, but two leaves (upper and lower left ones) were in the same range, and therefore got the same focus. They, being part of the background, really don't deserve the attention, and they pull from the focus on the flowers. I suggest you blur them out a bit, which is really quite simple with the right program.
The area just to the right of the flower and a little up is pure black. In itself, the blackness isn't so bad, it just distracts in much the same way as the too-sharp leaves. Next time you take photos, try not to get any large of areas of light or dark unless they add to the contrast of the picture, or pull the attention of the viewer towards the central idea.

Whoa! Nice job! I have to agree with Snoink. The leaves make this picture brilliant; they are absolutely perfect, I haven't seen leaves so green since I was in Maui. You've made my day. Oh, and the flowers are purdy too! XD.
I have no nitpicks because I feel you did very well with this picture. Luffly job!
