James Dakota (Jax)

The morning sunlight crept through the small window beside me, creating shadows all over the room. Fluttering my eyelids open, I stretched my arms out above my head. For a second, I forgot that I was in China and I forgot all about the SIS. Once I did realise, a pleasured grin spread across my face. It felt good not having my mother calling me a lazy sod in the morning.

I sat up in my bed and observed my surroundings. I was the only one left in the room, the others must have already been downstairs. I was a pretty lazy guy, I had to admit. Ah well, sleep was good for you. I more or less jumped out of bed, excited about the day ahead of me. Rather quickly, I took off my t-shirt and replaced it with a new one. I then grabbed my jacket and lifted my hood up. I didn't bother changing my jeans, they didn't smell or anything. That meant they weren't dirty, right?

Skipping downstairs, I cheerfully whistled to myself. There didn't seem to be many people around upstairs, they must have all be downstairs. It didn't take me long to reach the bunker.

"Yo, guys!" I practically sang. "How is everyone this fine morning?"

By the looks of it, not good. I laughed as I realised that most of them had hangovers. I felt pretty darn proud of myself at that moment, I hadn't drunk an ounce of alcohol last night. Still chuckling to myself, I sat down next to Erika. She was one of the few who didn't seem to have a hangover.

As I sat down, she glanced at me but didn't say anything. What was up with everyone in this place? It was like being in a funeral. These guys needed to lighten up a bit. For the second time, I chuckled to myself. That got me a rather unimpressed glare from Reet. It was so tempting to start singing... loudly...
I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

Guv'nor (George Leyton)

It was an interesting arsenal of weapons, but then what did I expect? It had been supplied by the British, which probably meant that the mechanics of each weapon were German. Designed by a Brit and manufactured by a German equalled the best weaponry this world had ever seen. Reliable, light and up-to-date. It was an interesting prospect with the teams dividing up almost instantly, with only Team Alpha seeming to take a more reserved position. Someone had to man the shop though, besides the other members of the team could hit the streets and learn whatever they could from the public, the plan was flawless. There's a natural problem with flawless plans though, they never work. I needed risk, it was how elite groups operated to their best extent. Risks meant that I'd need to start the Ops.

A new young girl, an agent who Clint described as "weird", had arrived with cakes. This happened to be the perfect distraction for me to go and fax something to London. Though, before I could get anywhere, another person came up to me, claiming they were an Assasin specialist. How admirable.

"Ah, I'm guessing you're Hayley Wilson," I stated, scanning her. She wasn't one who seemed to be taken as a joke, nor one with a sense of humour. Most likely born and trained, perfect for the job, flawless. Though flawless wasn't what I needed; being human, however, she'd have a weakness.

"That's me," She replied firmly.

"Ah well, I think for starts we can give up the "Boss man", no? I think of it as a rather juvenile label. Since we're in China, it also helps to keep the western slang to a minimum, wouldn't you agree?"

"Indeed, what shall I call you then?" she said, impatiently. It was like a reflection of character for an assasin to appear impatient, despite her joke implying it was no pleasure to see me, I could sense a tweak in personality since she made it.

"Well, name's George Leyton, but 'round here you can simply call me Guv'nor," I smiled.

"Ha," she laughed, "I thought we weren't using Western slang?"

"I know, daredevil, en't it?" I smiled, "Excuse me, Hayley. Clint." I nodded before walking off, taking the elevator down to the basement. There was a fax machine at the end of the room, lit by a small table lamp. The chances were each fax would be intercepted by the REAF intel command. Though, the British were naturally prepared. The SIS had sent out a basic faxing document that made everything inputted appear as part of a badly written communication between two library organisations. Us being in a bookshop, it would most likely just get a once over by a half tired Asian man in a small control room. Worst case scenario? It went through when someone good at their job was on interception duty.

I inputted the following into the fax machine and sent it off:
Teams are in place, awaiting your operations orders. In the meantime, I'll send some people out to get any local papers, find ordinary people contacts and record any REAF social gatherings over the next few weeks. I'll send agents to every possible meeting I can to retrieve all potential intel. We have three op teams, and one on HQ standby. Your orders?

Daemys,

Sarcasm seems to have woke me up. Sure, Miss Maya Cardinal didn't like it, but, hey, I don't really care that much.
I really should find the other members of my team. Who were they? Ah, yes. The plant guy. Leighton. Someone called Clare, don't know anything about her. And I guess that's it.
I locate Leighton, whom I've decided to call Sundew. Hey, a secret agent with an obsession with plants? Pretty good, if you ask me. He looks kind of worried, like he's had a terrible realization. Lila, who everyone seems to think is weird, is walking away from him.
I clap him on the back.

"How goes it, my fine Leighton?" I say, deciding to use his actual name for a while.

"Uhhh...Fine, I guess," he says, looking slightly dazed, "And you are?"

"Daemys Abney. I'm on your team." I say, grinning, "What's up with you? Look like you've seen a ghost!"

"Wha-? Oh, it's nothing."

"Good. 'Cause we should get the entirety of our team together, and get to, I dunno, KNOW each other, or something. Mmmm? What about it, Sundew?"
And remember...A portkey can be any sort of harmless object...A football...or a dolphin.

(Sorry about the length)

Fey O'Conner

Yesterday had gone quickly.

I had slipped out of the shop early, Reet had taken over the register in exchange for the dinner shift he was supposed to cook. Reet was a great spy but in no way should he be called a great cook.

I’d been in China seven months, and was still amazed at how different it was from the small village in grown up in back in England. The biggest thing was all the people and the noise that came with them, the streets were always congested and it was nearly impossible to get around by car on the main streets. The market was full of color, far cry from damp dreary greyness of England. Paper lanterns hung everywhere, displaying of bright colored fruit lined the market paths, as well as rice stalls, fish, and meat.

I picked up a peach turning it over, examining closely for any imperfections or blemishes. Satisfied I put it in the basket along with several others deemed acceptable., There was no rush to return to the shop, so taking my time I checked out everything.

By the time I was finished the light was fading, and the heavy bags dug into my arm as I walked back to where my bike was chained, my skin now looking striped as I put the bags down and bent to unlock it.

The sports car I used to drive back in London popped into my head…with it’s leather interior and heated seats… But it would be impractical and downright stupid to have it here. I chided myself for even thinking of it, the only thing that mattered was the mission, personal comfort came last.

The small lot behind the bookshop was quiet as I wheeled my bike to the shed, making sure to stay far away from the garden in the corner, Leighton was extremely protective over his plants, and I didn’t want to piss him off. Making my way to the back door, and was surprised to see it slightly ajar, which was strange, almost no one used the back door, save for Leighton, and he was smart enough to remember to close it. Something wasn’t right… Shutting the door quietly behind me, and setting the bags on the floor, there were voices coming from one of the main rooms.

There were people everywhere. On the couches, on the floor, in my chair.

What the hell, who were these people, why were they in the secured rooms?

I looked to my right, at Ty who was leaning against the wall, drink in hand, glaring at the rest of the room.

“Bloody hell, what in the world is going on?”

Giving me a half grin, he stuck is chin out, gesturing to all the people.

“They’re the newest additions to the team.” He replied with a chuckle

“Them…?” A look mixed with skepticism and surprise escaped me.

Ty chuckled again at my reaction, and handed me a glass of champagne, taking it down all in one swig I handed it back to him

“Bloody hell, we’re screwed.”

~*~

So the new leader guy just announced the teams we would be working with. I was paired with Ty and Naomi, and some new girl. Making some jackass comment about all the females he was teamed with, Ty had already made a fool of himself.

My head throbbed, and I regretted drinking so much, but I couldn’t help it. I had sat with him, and he went over everything that had happened in my absence, together we had managed to polish off a whole bottle of champagne, plus a few other drinks, laughing at the stupidity of the new agents. The lucky bastard didn’t even seem to be bothered in the least.

Now sitting in the kitchen with a bunch of the other girls, I stared at my tea, waiting for it to cool a little, hoping it would sober me up a little. The strange Goth girl came in, she had been here longer then the others, but I saw so little of her she was pretty much as unknown as the rest. All I knew is she was creepy, and had a vast knowledge of poison.

She came baring cakes, Naomi took one, offering me another.

“Depends, how likely is it to be poisoned?” I asked, only slightly joking.

Naomi replied, but I could barely hear her over the sound of the ticking wall clock…that thing was driving me crazy. The other new girl offered me some kind of vile, explaining how it would detect poison.

“I think that’s a little over the top, don’t you think?” I replied with a small smile. “I’m not really that hungry anyway, thanks.”

I left the room, deciding open up the store, and sober up while waiting for costumers.

(Rose and Vern you guys can bring in your characters to talk to her.)

Reet. Team Alpha.

Reet was lounging behind the till when Fey entered the room. His head was aching a little, but he in no way felt as bad as Fey looked. He'd drunk a little last night - but only enough to be slightly past tipsy, rather than full-out drunk. Reet didn't like getting drunk very much; he didn't like the taste of alcohol as it washed down his throat, and he especially didn't like the headache he got the next day.

"Had a little too much fun last night?" he asked Fey, biting back a laugh. She groaned and slumped down onto the chair next to him, massaging her temples slightly.

"Well, at least you don't need to worry about opening the shop," Reet said, attempting to keep a light tone in his voice. "I don't know if you heard last night - I doubt it, the way you look now - but we've been assigned teams. My team gets to mind the store." It was quite hard for Reet to keep the bitterness out of his voice. He loved the idea of being team leader, and was proud of that, but at the same time ... It was boring. Dull work. Reet didn't quite know how it was going to work. Him, C-4, Jax and the new girl - Erika? - all stuck around all day. They were bound to go mad. Unless he found them something to do, as Leyton had probably intended.

"Sorry to leave you," he said to Fey, jumping to his feet, "but I gotta speak to my team quickly. Drink a coffee, it'll do you good."

Reet walked over to where Lawson was standing and smiled. The older man sometimes seemed intimidating to Reet, but they were the same height, and Reet figured C-4 was okay, if a little hard to read. "Listen," he said, "I reckon we'll all go a little crazy if we're stuck around the shop today. So, we should do something. I say we go out and try to see if we can integrate ourselves a little with the public, and, while we're doing that, try to find some REAF contacts. Whadd'ya say?"
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

Sara
I walked into the store and saw a CIA agent talking to a girl. They were talking I learned that his name was Harry Raine and the girl asked for the I.D. and he shouted "“I’ve travelled from USA Miss, spent 14 hours on a plane. I’m well recommended here and yet you you buffoon treat me like I’m some rookie!” I walked up beside him and said coolly pulling out my I.D. "Sara Rose Stealth and intelligence." I handed her my I.D.

*Sara arrived late so she can't be on the mission She does not know the name of anyone so whoever she is talking to please bring yourself in.*

Ty Sirus

"Well, it's about time," Ty had been counting down the minutes till the first operation. The place had been boring up until now. Sure he had gotten to test out some weapons, and even mix a bit of poison. Though he was tired of answering to people in the store. Most of them always tried to speak English, it was nice, but it was so broken it might as well been a fourteen year old girls text message. He was ready for the action. It was about noon, getting close to one by the time they would get there. People should have been good after the night before.

"Team Red!" Ty strode out of the elevator, bright smile. "Grab your weapons, we got the first mission!"

Several people gave Ty some death glares, they wanted out of the HQ too. Ty just smiled before he grabbed went back down to the surveillance room. Ty flicked a few switches, grabbed a bag and waited for the it to glow red. "Okay, all good...let's go...oh right, I'm alone. Come on Ty!"

_____________________________

"Here is the plan," Ty and the rest of team Red were huddled into the back of a van. It looked so out of place, but they were supposed to be a cleaning crew, so it,hopefully, would not draw suspicion. "I'll be going in a window cleaner. You guys wait here until you see me get on the lift thingy. Once you see me, grab the cleaning supplies, over there, and throw them up to me."

"Why don;t you just bring it with you? Why do you even need the cleaning supplies," Raeven asked. Ty saw Fey role her eyes behind her.

"The cleaning supplies is not really supplies," Fey answered. "They're full of bugs and cameras. And one of them has a small acidic fluid. It will make a small hole for us to slip the bugs through."

"Yeah, we won't be able to sneak them passed security, so I figured this would be the best idea," Ty gave one last smile and rolled out the back. "Bye Bye Angels."

Ty tried to look as simple as possible. He has placed grease and bleach stains in his hair, along with his clothes. He hid his usual smile, and kept a solemn, neutral expression. One he thought a man who cleaned for a living would have. He knew he had hit the spot when he saw the business men giving him scowls, and covering their mouths and noses as they passed him.

"Hello, yeah, names Jeff Jefferson, I was hired to clean your windows," Ty leaned right against the counter, elbows dragging grease stains. The man gave him a strange look. Ty swore in his head. He had forgotten to speak Mandarin. "Sorry, just moved here. Still getting used to speaking the language. I'm the cleaning man. My crws on the way. Window washer." The man nodded, though he was wrinkling his nose. he gestured Ty on to go through security.

Ty passed through, all clean, well not clean but he got passed it. Now was when the fun started. Ty had no idea how window washers got around, but he figured he would find it on the roof. He was right, and lowered himself down as far as he could. He got the bugs easy, and now the fun was going to start.

(I'll let the rest of you guys start the mission. I'm just handing out bugs. Boring to write.)

Harry Raine

Parking his hog he breathed the air. China, Hong Kong Commecial Center of Asia, then why of all places, were they meant to meet at dinky little bookshop? Shrugging he shook his head to clear the dust from his hair before flinging his rucksack, he traced his moustache nervously before entering the shop.

He was shocked to see what could be described as a folksy girl sitting down looking ratherly bored. Coughing she turned to see him just as another person walked away, “Who are you?”

“Harry Raine, CIA Sniper.”

She sat up, it was now apparent she was hungover, he scoffed.

“I.D please.” She groaned.

Harry sighed, taking out his I.D and credential, “I’ve travelled from USA Miss, spent 14 hours on a plane. I’m well recommended here and yet you you buffoon treat me like I’m some rookie!”

“No need to shout okay, and no need to be a prick, you’re all the bloody same Americans, come in all high and mighty and expect results. I’ll get his ‘highness’ someone ‘competent’ to talk to.

C-4 | Clint Lawson; Team Alpha; Bookstore Main Room, w/ Reet + Fey
He'd wandered back out to the shop proper after Leighton had dismissed Hayley and him, leaning against a bookshelf and thumbing through a dog-eared English-Mandarin dictionary with distraction. The last of his headache wasn't helping. Thank goodness that Jax was down in the bunker, he didn't think he could have taken so much noise without breaking something.

He turned when Reet came by. He'd been appointed team leader, Leighton visibly having gotten a good first impression from him the previous day. Clint didn't particularly mind. Better him than Jax. And he seemed to be taking it seriously, at least, which bumped him up in Clint's esteem.

"Good idea," he nodded when Reet finished talking. "One of us should be here at all times though."

He gestured vaguely down - he'd seen her wandering down to the bunker. "And while you and me know this place, neither Jax nor Erika do. Which I guess means we should take turns helping them get her footing and know the place?" He wasn't sure he liked her yet, his ego still bruised from that incident when she'd come in.

"Good point. I didn't get the feel Erika was very happy to be with us, by the way. Any idea why?"

A wry smile. "I don't think we made a very good impression yesterday. Well, I didn't. Dunno 'bout you."

"Right. We'll have to work on that, then. Can't have a quarter - or half - of the team not working with the rest."

Yep, there was Reet faced with a new puzzle. Knowing him, he wouldn't rest until he found a solution. Clint took pity on him.

"Want to take Erika out? I can hold the fort, see what the hell Jax's good for."

Was that relief on his face? Clint did think it was. Or at least it was, before he narrowed his eyes at the raised voices coming from the side. He turned too, to see a pissed-off looking Fey walking and with some stranger in tow.

"Mister CIA here doesn't want to be treated like a rookie. You guys deal with him, I can't do it right now."

CIA huh? Clint took a look at the ID himself, then nodded at Reet. All clear was the unspoken message, and Reet inclined his head just fractionally, acknowledging.

"Listen here. You're not the only one who's had to travel to here, you're not the boss and you're not better than anyone else, CIA or not, so pipe down. This is an undercover ops, yeah? Pipe down." A moment for the customary stare down, that had mitigated results. "Now. Raine, right? I'm Reet."

"Clint Lawson. You've met Fey. The rest of the team's downstairs."

[[rose, clarifications as to what on earth you're doing and who you're talking to please? I fully admit to being really confused]]

Mercredi - Lila Downskins ; Team Alpha

[ Backroom -> Bunker downstairs | cross (Naomi, Fey, Rae) + HayHay + Leighton ]

Lila hadn’t stay very long in the backroom: they were obviously very busy and she merely had the time to look at the boss that he was leaving already. Lila shrugged for herself, put a cake into Clint’s hand and Ty’s without asking them what they tought of the matter and went downstairs in the bunker.

She froze at the sight. There were more people than the day before. Like, so much more. Why had they to appear precisely the night she had to left? Oh God oh God, she would never have enough cakes.

She did her best to give at as many as she could manage. She gave some to a group of three women (who didn’t even eat them, she discovered after. How rude.), another to a ginger woman who was alone and then went toward Leighton.

Who was still sleeping.

She sighed, left a few cakes near him and then wattered his plants. She liked his plants. True be told she liked Leighton too, he was nice. Well of course he was uncomfortable with her but, hey! Maybe it was the lipstick.

She sat in a dark corner and kept her gaze right on him, waiting for him to wake up without any special reason. There was too many people around, she was more comfortable with the ones she knew a little already. She didn’t blink the moment he opened his eyes, stalking watching him get up, and smiled widly when he called her.

She joined him immediatly and talked a bit with him, happy to see he’d enjoyed her cakes. The breakfast-plan was a good one! He looked pale, though. It must be the hangover.

"Relax. She won't hurt anyone."

Lila raised her eyebrows, looking around. What? Of course she wouldn’t hurt anyone. Well, not without a specific order anyway. People were weird.

“You should sleep a bit more,” she finally said with a shruggle, “you’re pale.”

A man was walking toward them but she didn’t know him. She bowed one last time and turned her heels without another word. She had nothing to do yet and there were too many people here. She hoped nobody stole her her bed during her leaving.

She took the cakes the girls had left (seriously, if they didn’t like chinese cakes they could have say it sooner) and went to seat in a corner, on the floor, bringing back her legs to her chest. She ate mechanicly, looking around with inexpressives eyes. As long as nobody needed her, it was fine. Maybe she should try to catch the boss again, when he would be less busy.

For now she would just stay here and watch the others, it was a good way to learn about them too. And to avoid trouble.

( Lila is free for RP if anyone wants to have an action with her, just poke in the discussion post ♥ Also, I hope I didn't forget anyone in my resume)

Maya

It took me a while to go downstairs after wearing some decent clothes. Note, Maya, don't have any suspicion from anyone. But then again, you're partially drunk. I knew that i should not drank a quarter of beer but, hey, when was the last time I got to be a leader of some big mission. So don't look drunk. I hope i can managed.

I walked down the stairs and saw a number of people eating cakes. Great, It would have been better going down early and eat cake rather than staying up and drink beer. I sigh. Never mind about that, I need to find my team mates and....they they are. The seduction girl was not there. Oh well, I can just drag her anytime I want.

"Good morning team, how is everybody."
"You're drunk." Daemys said looking at me awkwardly. Great, my cover is gone.
"Don't mind it. I'll be fine. We need...(hiccup)....to gather the team...(hiccup). State your...(hiccup)....name. So i can check." Please, no hiccups at this time. Did beer did this to me? Why beer? Why did you betray me now!
"You met me, Daemys Abney." I thought he was about to say his long name. I glared at the other guy.
"Leighton Howell." The guy smiled. He's much nicer than the former.
"Okay, so that's....(hiccup)...two members. Now where is...(hiccup)...Stepples."
"Here." I looked behind me and there she was. She was swallowing the last chunk of cake down her throat. I glared at her. She was the first to go to the corner and now she got cake. I shook my head.
"Okay now...(hiccup)...that the team is here...(hiccup). Here's our mission. We...(hiccup)...need to studying the relationship...(hiccup)...between REAF and the Southern Defence...(hiccup)...treaty. We are going to travel....(hiccup)...people all around China. We are going to gather Intel from...(hiccup)....high security which may include assassination or my specialty...(hiccup)...interrogation."
They nodded in unison. Now this will be my break.
"Before we can start, excuse me for I need to find a big...(hiccup)...jug of water and some cups to kill down...(hiccup)...this annoying...(hiccup)." I forced a smile at them.
"On the...(hiccup)...meantime, why don't you guys talk...(hiccup)...to each other."
With that, I dashed past the crowd to get some water.
John McClane: Drop it. It's the police.
Tony: You won't hurt me.
John McClane: Oh, yeah? Why not?
Tony: Because you're a policeman. There are rules for policemen.
John McClane: Yeah. That's what my captain keeps telling me

Naomi; Red Team; Out on a mission

It wasn't the clothes that I minded, though they were ten tonnes of sexy of course and not at all comfortable to move in. No. What made me feel uncomfortable with pretending to be a cleaner was the lack of weapons we'd be able to take in. Namely just my hands; I was even leaving my hypodermics behind because I didn't think a diabetic cleaner would be so easily explained. We were sitting in the van now, watching for Ty making it through.

"He's there," Fey said, opening the back of the van so we could climb out. I wrapped my arms around one of the boxes of 'cleaning supplies' and dropped to the floor. The other angels were doing the same.

"Alright. I'll take the bottom two floors, you get the middle two and you can have the top and elevators..." Gee, Rae seemed all over the control issue huh? While the cats away the mice will play and all that bullshit. But top floor suited me just fine so I nodded and we took a casual stroll to the side of the building. Ty had lowered himself right down so throwing the stuff up to him was a piece of cake.

Then we had to get inside. I had all sorts of conversations worked out in my head, was worried about a hundred different problems but as we walked inside, they barely even looked up at us. We were cleaners and we were invisible. I strode straight for the lift.

Armed with a couple of real cleaning supplies, I knocked on a door that I thought lined up pretty well with the lift outside. I hoped desperately that the room would be empty and regretted not going for the roof. Oh sure I had no reason to be up there but it would have been out and then in with nobody the wiser. If someone was in this room... I couldn't exactly try to clean it twice.

I got lucky; the room was empty. I slipped in and closed the door behind me, then opened the window and waited for Ty to see me. It didn't take long.

"Don't miss a spot. We wouldn't want any complaints, huh?" Ty asked with a lopsided grin. I smiled back at him and shook my head in amusement.

"Hey. I'm good at my job," I said with a twitch of sarcasm. He checked me out, outfit and all.

"Mmm hmm. Best cleaner on the team," he joked. For a moment, I was reminded of Rae's comment and thought about warning him not to get too funny with her. Except I couldn't. Until now our conversation had been passable and our cover was intact. Here was the window washer having a bit of friendly banter with one of his team and giving her some more cleaning supplies. Nothing suspicious there. I gave him a nod and set about cleaning the offices, slipping bugs in as I went along. But I cleaned and I cleaned well. I'd not had a mother growing up, so, a lot of the house chores had fallen to me.

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.
— J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
